I really like this place for my pedicures, they always do a good job and they are pretty inexpensive. I've gotten my nails done here a few times but I'm extremely picky and didn't quite like the thickness of my gel polish or SNS but like I said I'm super picky. There is one thing that really bothers me though, that I see consistently and that's the nail artists not changing their gloves when changing clients on pedicures. I've seen it happen about 3 or 4 times and to my sister once who actually ended getting a little foot rash. I've also seen a nail artist go from doing a pedicure with gloves on to switching to helping a manicure with those same gloves. Also, the tools they use do not come out of a package and do not come out of the sterilization bath. So, I'd just like that to change and then I would be more than willing to give this place 5 stars! read more

Don't bother. Used an unclean cuticle cutter-only cleaned it once I pointed it out. Then didn't cut my cuticles at all-was going to paint my nails without any cuticle clean up-they still looked as ratty as when I entered needing a mani. I left without bothering with the painting. Came in to remove SNS and they completely destroyed my nails. They used a fake plastic nail to pull off the SNS which was extremely painful. I was in shock and did not even know what to say while watching this happen. I asked if there was another way to remove the SNS bc it was ruining my nail and they said no and that my nails were like that already. (Also they will not tell you honestly how long the wait is. I have been to this salon a handful of times and each time it gets worse. They up charge people and "changed" their prices from $47 dollars with tip to $80 dollars with tip just for SNS DIP! I ended up having to fill in my own nails with sharpie because the gel top turned white and chip off. I asked for black French tip and the woman kept getting black powder all over the clear part of the nail, it got so bad I asked her to just make them all black but she refused and wanted to instead add a nude orange color to cover the black specks. Finally I said I would pay what they wanted if I would just be able to get what I wanted. She did 6 layers of dip instead of taking off the first set. It took a new salon and hour and a 1/2 to get the dip off my nails and it stained my nail bed. Will never go back here! read more

I've been coming to Uni nails for about a year now. My nail tech moved so I thought I would try them out, the first few pedicures were good, the salon is really modern and nice inside. Then I got a few full sets and was happy, then I schedule an appointment with a nail tech, I walk inside had mentioned I called to schedule an appointment with Nu and after waiting for 45 minutes they told me she was out of the country. They then had someone else do my set. I gave two different options on what I wanted, the tech said she could do the marble I wanted... she couldn't. I had to come in the next day and have the owner fix it and get a solid color I hated to cover it up. I started going somewhere else for my sets but continued to come for mine and my boyfriends pedicures.. not sure if they just stop putting in effort after coming for a period of time or what the issue is but for over a year I've been saying I won't come back after each pedicure because the low effort and lack of any type of massage when getting a pedicure. Unfortunately, instead of looking for another place, we have continued to come for connivence. Today was the last straw when I paid for a pedicure and got no type of foot massage while I watched my boyfriend get a foot and leg massage. I have never left a bad review until now. I went to get my nails done here for the first time. I get acrylic's but don't get them painted because i paint them myself. They charged me for a full set with gel and refused to even charge me the full set with regular polish. I ended up paying $60 for acrylics that took 20 minutes that didn't need painted. When i kindly asked them to explain why i was paying for them being painted, even though this service was not done, the man at the front said nothing but "$60 is your total". My nails are sloppy and not at all almond/Stiletto.(mix of both) The lady was nice but she didn't put much effort into doing them; kept looking up while filing them/didn't not once check it the two hands were even. I didn't say anything because I am shy and knew she probably would charge me 15+ to fix. So then I got my eyebrows done by same lady I was scared cause of how she did my nail. I walked in to uni nails pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a typical salon w a short wait, and walked in to 11 pedi chairs and 15 nail stations, and my technician greeting me by name (right after i signed in). They had plenty of color and brand choices for polish, and the whole place didnt smell atrociously of chemicals. I came to this location every 3 weeks for about 6 months. The ladies here do good work. The atmosphere is nice and I love the music they play. They have a wide variety of colors and service. Everything is fast pace and isn't exactly "relaxing", but they did good work so i continued to get my nails done here. At first look everything looks really great. However, this business does not have great sanitization practices. They do not wipe down their area with a disinfectant between clients. Ever. They reuse the same nail file on everyone. Even though I got a little cut and there was blood on the file, I watched them use it again on someone after me. I never really saw them take their tools out of the blue sanitization packets and was starting to question how clean this place is. After 6 months of seeing things that kind of grossed me out. The last straw for me was when I got a pedicure. They used the big cheese grater on my calluses. When the lady was done, she swished it around in used pedicure water and then put it right back in the rolling cart. The cart was then rolled away and the materials were used on the next person. There was no sterilization at all. She literally used my old water to rinse it and then used it on some one else. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Another issue that I have is their appointment policy. I was running late and called in advance to let them know I'd be about 5-7 mins late. They said it would be no problem. Then I when I got there (5 minutes late) my technician had started on someone else and I was taken back 45 minutes later! However, I've been there multiple times on a Saturday morning and the ladies walked in late with a Starbucks and took me 15-20 mins after my appointment time. They do not honor appointment times. If I were you, I'd find somewhere else. read more

I consider this place my go-to for a no frills, cheap, and quality pedicure. The place is clean, the counter guy is reading a magazine, you put down your name and what you want, you pick out your nail polish, grab from a huge pile of magazines and your lady grabs you. There is no real interaction, pretty much once your colour is picked out, you sit down, pick your vibration setting, and bliss out on gossip. My lady even got on her cellie while rubbing down my calves, which I didn't care about at all-I can see how some people would consider this rude, but I was in and out in 20 minutes and my toes looked boss for a wedding this weekend- SCORE. I stopped in this evening for a gel manicure. The waiting area had 2 people waiting and I was told that I'd need to wait 15-20 minutes. As I went to sit down, 4 women entered and signed in after me. They left to get drinks and I asked the man at the counter for a file. I explained that I don't allow anyone to use a router/electric file/drill on me, and that I'd file off the top layer off my gel polish(on natural nails) myself while I waited. I file off the top layers of my gel and wait my turn. My name is called and I go to desk 16. She seems confused. Much language is yelled across the salon and it's decided that I need to put my hands in a bowl of acetone since I refused the drill. (Let's be real, it's a Dremel and it shouldn't be used on natural nails.) she leaves the desk. 10 minutes later she comes back and tells me I need to move to the unoccupied desk next to her. I ask why, she says she needs it. She moves my bowl and me, leaves my cell phone and jewelry at her desk as she seats one of the 4 girls who came in after me. Now my hands have been in acetone for 15 minutes, and I start scraping the gel off using the nails on my other hand. (Hell I could have done this at home) I'm watching my? Nail tech using the damn Dremel on this girl's normal nail polish on her natural nails, then daintily putting cotton soaked in acetone on her nails and wrapping them in foil. Now I'm getting pissed, as I apparently wasn't good enough for the actual proper application of acetone. The man from the front desk comes to check on my soaking, I tell him they've been in long enough and if my former nail tech didn't feel like taking care of me anymore, to give me a cuticle pusher so I can remove the remainder of flakes off my way too soaked-in-acetone nails. He says they aren't done yet, and that he'll be back in 5 minutes to do it himself. I proceed to remove the rest with my own damn nails while watching my former nail tech massage the other girl's hands and arms. Finally after having removed my own gel polish I'm moved to desk number 1. She takes off the 8 flakes of polish left and asks why I don't allow the drill. Good lord. I tell her that I had someone go through the polish and through my nail underneath , lots of blood, took 2 years to grow out. I'm looking at her Dremel while I say this and notice that all the bits have crap on them.... so they don't clean them between people. So the cutting, filing, cuticle clipping buffing etc go fine. My left hand with base coat is in the uv light (which is awkwardly as far left of me as possible) and she finishes the first layer of gel on my right, says switch, then "I'll be right back" She then goes back to my original nail tech's desk and proceeded to paint designs on all 10 of that girl's fingers! Leaving me for 10 minutes with almost but not even finished nails. Finally she comes back, no apology, finishes my nails and I go to pay. I didn't argue since he didn't charge me the $10 for gel removal. Whew, no yelling from me. But damn, I'm not going back. We shall see how the manicure lasts. 90 minutes in total, I'm pushed to the side twice to cater to a walk-in girl who came in after me, and I had to remove my own month old gel polish because I refused to let them use dirty power tools on me. read more

The lady was nice but the gel sucked, she did 3 coats and refused to do more, for glitter paint. The acrylic also isn't straight on the edges or up to the cuticle, so it looks like a mess job. I just received a gel manicure and pedicure here by Sophia. She must have been having a bad day because she had an attitude with me the whole time for no apparent reason. She was irritated when I looked at my nails between coats and commented on the look of my face even though I was just sitting there. The pedicure was fine but her manicure was horrible along with her attitude. When you spend 75 dollars, this is not the way you should be treated. Maybe others have had a better experience, but I wouldn't have Sophia do your nails if you want to feel relaxed and get a quality pedicure. Too bad. Best gels and pedicure with super nice and friendly staff I came here on a recommendation even though I live in Northeast Scottsdale because I heard they have over 250 colors to select from and yes they sure do have that many. The salon is the nicest one I have ever been in (they had a summer remodel) and super clean! The staff was super friendly not pushy and very helpful in picking out color for my skin tone. I now go out of my way to drive to this location because they have set the bar so high I don't even want to try a closer location. Gel manicure chipped in several places after just 6 days of gentle care. The edges started chipping within a few days. Today, there's a huge piece broken off on my right index finger. Usually, gel manicures last me 3 weeks. Even then, the polish has not chipped. Rather, the natural nail growth requires a fresh coat. I'm very disappointed with this waste of $$ and time. Update: The salon told me to only expect the gel manicure to last 10 days! (I don't know why they don't understand that 6 is less than 10.) They buffed those two nails a little bit (not completely remove the chipped paint), and then applied a few coats.
