    Zombie and Pain Killer

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great tiki bar and theming, looks just like you are in an 1800s ship![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's evident they place much effort in the decor AND the drinks! Thats not usually the case in many places. The drinks are phenomenal! One of the best Pain Killers I've had, and Ive been to my share of tiki bars! Great, well-made classic and strong tiki drinks. They also make their own craft cocktails which I thoroughly enjoyed. They even made a Java style cocktail with Ron de Barrilito, iykyk! Its difficult to find this rum outside Puerto Rico, or even to be seen and used in cocktails at bars. Too bad I dont live in Phoenix, I would come often. Service fee to make a reservation is applied to your check. Service from bartender was great.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a cute little place. Came for the tiki bar and was delighted to see that it's 3 themed bars in one![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A little pricey even compared to most tiki specialty bars but lots of fun. Good one time experience. Need more consistency with quality from each themed spot, as some drinks were just not there creation wise.

I'd been wanting to try Undertow Tiki Bar for quite some time, and I finally had the chance. We visited the Arcadia location, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The drinks were well-crafted, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the immersive tiki décor was fantastic[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and the service was friendly and attentive. If you're a fan of tiki bars and creative cocktails, this place is absolutely worth checking out.

It's time to update my review and give that 5th star that Undertow so deserves. I love the cocktails at this bar! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had previously given 4 stars simply due to not really liking the spots that are sitting at the port hole seats. I just didn't find them comfortable near the wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've now been back enough times to sit at the booths and bar top as well. Truly, it doesn't really matter where you sit, the service and cocktails are spot on but we all have our preferences.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Today, we came in early around 430pm on a Friday, for a Valentine's cocktail (or two), and we were seated at the bar which I enjoy most at bars, in general.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had the pleasure of having Justice as our bartender and it was cool to chat with him, here and there. He was very attentive. Both rounds of cocktails were awesome. 1st round we had the Panther's Tooth and Angostura Colada. Pretty different flavors so it was good for sharing back and forth. Liked them both, very delicious. Second round unexpectedly blew me away a little bit. We ordered a classic Zombie as it's one of my favorite old school tiki drinks and a new drink on the menu Three Star Harbor, and I couldn't believe how much Ube flavor came through on it...so delicious! Justice mentioned the process for making that drink is a bit more involved by creating Ube powder, then a paste they essentially clarify the cocktail through. I loved it! Even the little Ube shortbread cookie as the garnish was good. I'm glad that on this visit the menu has been updated with new drinks for us to try. I love Tiki and enjoy Undertow every time. Of course, we will be back.

Had a fun time at Under tow. We had a reservation and it was early. 4:30. So not too many people there. This was my second time. But my guests... it was a first. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So it was very nice to actually see all of the bar![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sat at one of the 2 booths.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Greeted by Hannah. She was wonderful!! Between the 3 of us we did 6 different drinks!! All just delicious and expertly crafted! It is a fun , immersive experience and I will do it again!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]What amazing ambiance! Absolutely the cutest with comic accents littered everywhere ![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Undertow is one of 3 different INTENSELY THEMED bars within the Century Grand Venue[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . Platform 18 (speakeasy train) and Undertow really require reservations as they are very popular and frequently "fully booked " . The Specked Hen usually has walk in available. There seems to be strong drink but very little food on offer so usually I visit one of the many restaurants within walking distance after a visit to Undertow !

Second visit ever to Undertow; but first Visit to the Arcadia location. First off if you are going for a birthday, you MUST put it in your reservation, I'm going to leave what happens as a wonderful surprise. If you get adorned with a lei, immediately have a friend film it for you. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This whole experience was incredible, the cocktails here are too notch, the bartenders are extremely friendly, and the environment is just awesome to hang out in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can't wait to come back, I will fly back to Phoenix just to hang out with the bartender we had again seriously. This was an absolute 5 star experience, but my advice, skip the $50 Curse of the Jaguar cocktail. That is the only cocktails I have ever had here that was meh. My wife and I both didn't like it whatsoever. And this next part is for whoever is running the show here, and I mean this seriously. Find a new social media manager for your Instagram... every question I asked after my last visit and leading up to this one was proven absolutely false.... That person does not care for your customers, seriously. Especially with answering every merch question with "everything we offer will be on the website." Which was far from the truth. But anyone reading this, GO TO UNDERTOW NOW!!! It rules, and get the drunken trail mix..

I like the concept of this space for a tiki bar. Reservations required and there's a 90 minutes visitation max. The speciality cocktails were stiff and goes down smooth. There's no food served. There are bar & booth seating. The booth can accommodate about five to six people. There is accessible parking.

    Peggy D.

A fantastic experience, 10 out of 10. I loved everything about it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is a fun and immersive nautical wonderland.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Drinks are delicious. Bartenders/mixologists are artists and exceptionally nice. The drinks will knock you on your ass. Make sure that you have a designated driver or take a Lyft or an Uber.

Undertow is one of my favorite bars in Phoenix. I love tiki bars, and I think this is one of the best around. Designed to look like you're on a 19th-century ship, Undertow is decorated with barrels, portholes, vines and other nautical/tropical decor. The drinks are not cheap, but they're inventive and strong. The Ghost of the Jaguar comes to you under a cool jaguar/skull thing. The Zombie packs a powerful punch. The Scorpion Bowl is fun to share with friends. The price point makes it a place I don't visit very often, but I go to Undertow whenever I can.

Group of us ladies came here for a cocktail evening for my friends bachelorette. It was such an amazing experience. The visuals, sound affects, taste of the cocktails, creativity of the drinks, as well as staff were amazing.

I have been to century grand a few times but hadn't made my way to undertow yet so we figured it was about time to cross that off the bucket list Great timing in my opinion, Christmas lights were up but they still had their fall menu, so it was a good mix of both worlds, I believe they're switching to their winter menu in a couple of days so I'll have to try that out Started with the pumpkin spice pina colada, then yuzu blackberry margarita, and then a rum barrel for a classic tiki drink. All the drinks were delicious. I'm usually not a fan of frozen drinks but the pina colada was delicious Waiter was friendly and helpful, and the layout/decor of the area is so fun. Overall a great time and I look forward to coming back

Ordered: Sunrise at Sea (~$18): Coconut & Hibiscus Vodka, Guava Liqueur, Naranja, Squish Blossom, Passion Fruit, Lime, Fever Tree Elderflower Tonic Short Patrol (~$12): Baked Banana Demerara, Lime, Pineapple, Urfa Bieber, NA Jamaican Rum Aya's take: Undertow is a high-end tiki bar located inside Century Grand, a multi-concept cocktail bar in Phoenix. Upon entering, we were transported to the belly of an old ship with "windows" showing video loops of the ocean and sounds of waves hitting. The menu here is more playful & tropical and I wanted a drink that embodied exactly that. The Sunrise at Sea was sweet & tropical upfront, with gentler floral & creamy notes from the coconut and hibiscus, and a little bit of citrus from the lime and naranja. Very enjoyable cocktail that I could definitely imagine sipping at "sunrise at sea". The Short Patrol is one of their mocktails which was definitely sweeter from the banana and rum, the smokiness from the urga bieber was also a little too much for my liking. I like that they have non-alcoholic options but this one is not as fruity or light as some of their other options. The menu changes roughly every year so check them out for their extensive menu and immersive tiki experience!

Ask the Community - Undertow - Arcadia

    Are kids allowed?

It's very crowded and loud . Always standing room only, with only a few tiny tables for , cocktails not food . I did not see any children . I would not bring underage people There's nothing for them

Is the reservation fee fully refundable upon timely cancellation? I'm not 100% sure on the date we'll be in town and wanted to lock down two reservations (then cancel the one when I know for sure).

Hi Kasey, Thank you for reaching out. We'd be more than happy to assist you with booking these reservations. Do you mind sending us an email at guestservices@bartershake.com…

How far in advance do reservations open up?

Does the 12 dollar per person reservation fee go toward anything? Like toward your bar tab? There also seems to be a 9 dollar service fee on top of the 12 dollar reservation is that correct?

A pre-paid beverage minimum is required to reserve. The pre-paid beverage minimum is $12 with a $3 non-refundable processing fee. The pre-paid beverage minimum will be applied to your final bill for what you've ordered. Pre-paid beverage minimums…

Do they accept walk-ins? I tried to get reservations on the 3 nights I'll be in town and was unable to secure any. I tried right when they became available and it was all…

    Yes the accept walk in.

Do they sell any type of food or is it just drinks?

I’m pretty sure it’s all drinks!

I don't drink, but my husband has been wanting to come to UT on a trip to watch spring training baseball. Do you have non-alcoholic beverages? (Either water or juice, tea or coffee?)

Yes they do. Make a reservation!

    Any great restaurants nearby?

Yes, actually. But much like these bars you need to plan well in advance and make reservations. You may want to consider https://goo.gl/maps/67UB3M7U1j28cJrAA, (Chelsea's Kitchen)…

Do you need a code to get in?

    No, just a reservation (usually).

Is there any nice hotels nearby?

For a cool retro vibe to match your UnderTow experience, I would recommend Hotel Valley Ho. It is probably less than a 10 min drive east on Indian School. For a fancier and pricier option, the Royal Palms Resort is located a bit north of the bar…

Do they accept out of state vertical ID?

I would definitely call to verify. I assume you're asking with the knowledge that most states reserve vertical IDs for under 21 people. That's the case in AZ so it's worth a check.

What if my reservation is for more people than who shows up - will they seat us if it ends up being less?

    I would hope so

Do they have any tiki mugs available for sale?

They do periodically and they usually go fast. The best way to keep updated is to follow them on Instagram.

Are they wheelchair accessible? It says yes, but then I see about a million stairs on their walk through.

The upstairs coffee shop is, but the tiki bar itself is not. The only way down is via the staircase.

    Do they serve any food?

No they do not. There are great restaurants in the area.

    Is there a dress code?

Just don't wear your birthday suit and you'll be good

    When is happy hour?

Monday thru friday 4pm -6pm on classic drinks

Open Table let us make a reservation for 230... website says they're not open until 4?

Depends on which day! Monday-Thursday: 4pm-12am Friday: 4pm-2am…

This place looks killer and we are coming into Phoenix for my first time in Nov...so there's no "signage" to say where it is, but how to we find it..all I saw was it's under Beer garage and Sip Coffee... ;) Also, what time is your happy hour?

Yup, enter "Sip Coffee & Beer Garage" and in the middle of the place you'll see a staircase heading down, walk down that.…

Ok Yelpers please help, where is the door for this place? I drove all around and only saw a coffee house?

It's inside of Sip coffee and Beer Garage. The staircase is in the middle of the room under the canoe

The beef sticks were pretty solid. Perfect amount of char on the onions and meat was pretty chewy in a good way very moist and the lime curry dipping sauce was a very good touch to go with it honestly, the pork sandwich though the amount of coleslaw they put on it was way too much and it ended up making a huge pool of coleslaw sauce underneath the bun so every time you picked up the sandwich, it would be just leaking constantly of coleslaw juice. It was way too much and it ruined the sandwich completely the meat in the sandwich at least was really good. It's just a coleslaw. Definitely ruined it funny enough I happen to look at somebody else who had caught in coleslaw, but on their tacos instead, and I was seeing the guy draining his taco because there was so much coleslaw juice they really need to fix that and then they got rid of the lobster bisque soup which was really one of the best things they had what a huge letdown there

What an unexpectedly fun night!…read more I honestly had no idea what I was walking into when a friend told me I had to check out Bikini Lounge because they know I'm drawn to all things eclectic. They were absolutely right. From the moment the friendly bouncer smiled and said, "Step right on in," I was hooked. Yoooow!! The first DJ was incredible. He was spinning all kinds of trip-hop, indie, electronic, and remix-style tracks that had everybody partyin'. It wasn't your typical dance music, but every song seemed to connect with somebody in the room. The crowd was incredibly diverse, and it was so much fun watching people of every age and style dancing and nobody cared. The second DJ, a younger woman, shifted the vibe a bit and leaned more toward a younger crowd. It wasn't quite my style, so I took that opportunity to grab a seat at the bar and do what I apparently do best... chat with complete strangers. I'm a talker, and thankfully they seemed just as happy to strike up a conversation. This isn't some fancy cocktail lounge, and that's exactly the point. It's authentic. There were people dancing at the bar, grooving in their booths, bouncing in their seats, and filling the dance floor with great energy. I came by myself, and within minutes a cool group of strangers invited me to squeeze into their booth like we'd all come together. That's the kind of place this is. At one point they even offered me a glass of beer from their pitcher. I politely declined (look at me making responsible life choices... sometimes), but then I realized almost everyone had pitchers! So I sauntered over to the bar. I did have to wait a bit; apparently chivalry doesn't extend to letting a woman cut the line, but once I reached the bartender, the service was fast and friendly. Every trip back to the bar was the same. No complaints there. As the night went on, the energy just kept building. Before I knew it, I was on the dance floor sweating, smiling, and dancing with complete strangers. After a while, I had to retreat to the patio just to catch my breath before heading back in for more. My ankles are still sore... and the glutes? Fuhgetabouttit! The best part of the night wasn't the music or even the drinks. It was the people. Every generation was represented. Every fashion style imaginable. Every personality. And somehow it all worked. There was this genuine sense of joy and community that you just don't find everywhere. If you're looking for polished and upscale, this probably isn't your spot. But if you want great music, a welcoming crowd, zero pretension, and one of those nights where you leave happier than you arrived... give Bikini Lounge a shot. I went in not knowing what to expect. I left wondering why I'd waited so long to go.

Our amazing bartender Eddie gave us a little history lesson, very friendly, super hospitable and made great drinks! It was a very warm day and their AC didn't seem to be working, but we made the most of it! It's a great location just west of the main attractions downtown if you want a more chill, local spot-this is it!
