It's crazy how good is Uncle Joe's for what you pay. I did not grow up eating noodles, I've had them a bunch of different places, Uncle Zhou is absolutely fantastic. Even those in the family I didn't expect to like it want to go back, so I guess I'll get to have some great noodles again. The service was attentive and the food was great. Dishes are inedible and Service is absolutely horrible. No one can speak proper english. My sauteed shrimp dish came out and was one of the least pleasant chinese foods I have tried. Was essentially boiled shrimp mixed with frozen vegetable mix. Definitely lived up to expectations. I read about this place moving down from New York in an article. Ordered the mapo tofu over rice, pork intestines, and wu xiang tofu (service order from the amazing waitress). Mapo tofu was bomb. Mild flavor with a bit of numbing spice. Pork intestines... omlord. Disorganized. Placed an order for dial oil noodles so my husband can pick up on his way home. They called me 2 hours later asking why I didn't pick up the food. I had to call my husband and he said he pick up already. I asked him to take a picture of the food, turns out they gave him the wrong order. When I called the restaurant back he was confused to what I was saying, then when he finally understand he just say ok and hang up. No apology for giving us the wrong food. I have been looking for local Chinese restaurants that have authentic flavor but also use very high quality ingredients, and this place delivered! We got: - mapo tofu - eggplant with spicy garlic sauce - shanghai cabbage (baby bok choy) with garlic - coir raincoat cucumber - vegetable spring rolls - fried rice Everything was amazing! My favorite was the mapo tofu. Usually it contains ground beef, but their version is vegetarian, which I love. It is so flavorful, I definitely didn't miss the meat. The eggplant was cooked perfectly and more sweet than spicy. The bok choy was simple and perfect. The cucumber was very refreshing and a great addition to the meal. The spring rolls and fried rice were for my kids, and they seemed to like them. My recommendations to the business would be to include rice with the entrees that require it (it is currently $1.50 extra per portion), and to include sauce with the spring rolls. I also would like to see more green vegetable dishes on the menu like bitter melon, chinese broccoli, water spinach, etc. Other than that, can't complain! Will definitely be back! read more

Was so excited to try this place after hearing about all the accolades it's garnered. What a disappointment I was in for today!! We came for lunch, four of us, to a relatively slow crowd. The waiter took our order and brought out one order short. Informed him and he said it was on the way. Sat...and sat...and sat...then asked again about our order. He went to the chef and came back to tell us the chef had forgotten about it. Nice, right? But that wasn't even the worst part! As my brother was eating his dry noodles, he bit into an UNCOOKED meat filled dumpling. He spat it out quickly, wish I had taken a pic before he returned it, and brought it to the counter to show the chef. The chef nonchalantly said that he was preparing someone else's dumpling order and it must have somehow landed in my brother's noodle bowl during preparation. Not at all apologetic for possibly causing a food poisoning episode and instead just took the bowl back and brought my brother a new order. When I mentioned to the hostess, the cook angrily came to my table and aggressively asked What's wrong with it!! I showed him the soggy rices. I today him I'd pay for it anyway even though I wasn't eating it. He literally argued with me that the food was perfect. That's the only reason he left my table, cause I said I'd pay for the uncooked rice. The shrimp was cooked to a rubbery consistency. I'll stick with PF Changs. I finally decided to try Uncle Zhou, the price is a little bit above the usual Chinese food, but the reviews made go for it. Portions are Texas style. As some people mention, main dishes do not include the option to add rice or noodles, you have to order for a full order separate, but hey, it is worth it. First day I ordered Beef Fried Noodles through Uber Eats, they were so tasty I couldn't even took a picture before trying them, portion was big enough for two meals, I also ordered some Veggie Spring Rolls, they were tasty as well, but I would have expected a little bit more vegetables. Next time I ordered Dial Oil Noodles, as that seems to be one of the most praised items in the menu, I think this was the second time I tried hand drawn noodles in my life, and these were flavorful, as other reviews mention, make sure you soak the noodles really good in the sauce, the good sauce will be at the bottom of the bowl, I also ordered General Tso's chicken, huge portion, full of flavor. I was looking forward to it as I am from New York City where we have the best Chinese food, but I'm sad to say this place is awful. First the food is very greasy with very bad cheap oil and incredibly salty. Second they don't even include white rice as most Chinese restaurants do and no condiments it was quite pricey for food that was below acceptable.
