We decided to have lunch here today. We were disappointed, no boiled crawfish at lunch time but that seems to be typical of some places. The fried pickles were super good we got the fried shrimp basket and it was pretty good. The hush puppies that came with it had a real good flavor. The service wasn't the best but she was also taking care of the patio so perhaps that was the problem. read more

Great atmosphere with my favorite combination of great food, casual atmosphere with an attentive wait staff. Loved our Cajun waitress! Oysters weren't as big as we would have liked, but very tasty. We had a dozen each of raw and chargrilled. Plenty of cheese and spices with the chargrilled order. Po-Boys were good size and, most importantly, fresh. Chef salad won't have you leaving hungry and is a nice balance to all the not so heathy but delicious traditional Cajun fare. Fun place, clean restrooms and reasonably priced. read more

Fiancé and I took a quick weekend getaway to Lafayette. I ordered the charbroiled oysters Holly Beach Slammer (half). My favorite from most to least was 1. Le Bon Chon 2. Firecracker 3. Nola 4. I do like the outdoor area. Also, the staff is very kind! I went there just to have an appetizer so can't this week and it was just ok I guess. I ordered o onion rings and it was Not kinda of crunchy and too greasy. My friend ordered fried with fried aligátor and he liked it though. Oyster is probably the most popular meal but I didn't try. We are staying in Lafayette and the lady at the front desk recommended. We were not dissapointed. Jade was our waitress and she very helpful with suggestions. We ordered the Muffaletta Cheese Bread got half with the olives (like it comes) and the other half with Oysters Firecracker... it was so good! The wife was in the mood for shrimp so she got the boiled shrimp and added corn and sausage. She said it was delicious! I got the Swamp Thing Po' Boy with onion rings suggested by Jade, it was amazing! The atmosphere is nice it was busy, but we didn't have to wait that long. We definitely recommend and will probably visit again tomorrow... and will take pictures of what we order. read more

Let's start with the waitress was very nice and helpful, I had the shrimp tacos broiled VERY avoid to much food for me . My husband had the tacos as well but all fried,fried fish which he said was wonderful,fried alligator he said was ok shrimp were good. Coleslaw not bad , onion rings good . We loved this place. After being turned away at one place because of no reservation, we lucked out to get a high table on a very busy Saturday afternoon. The servers were great and the place didn't have the feel of so many places that are understaffed. My hubby ordered a dozen oysters and they were great-really fresh. We split the large onion rings and should have ordered a small order because it was way too much for us. I got a specialty poboy, The Landry, and the fried oysters, shrimp and crawfish were excellent and it was too much to eat even though I got the small size. I ordered a Bloody Mary and they gave me a special one with lots of stuff-boiled shrimp, pickled green beans, olives and okra. It was okay but we didn't care for the smoke flavor in it. Good place to grab a tasty meal if you're in the area. Everything is done in a Cajun fashion. which is a good thing. There's a patio out front so you can bring the pooch, but its next to a busy road so it tends to be noisy with a lot of activity. We had the Muffuletta bread and it was excellent. For lunch got a dozen raw oysters (forgot to take a picture) they were soooooo freakin good and zydeco chicken which was sweet and spicy good. Then we went back for dinner since they were doing $10 bucket domestic beer and 50 cent wings which were also super good. Their buffalo sauce is on point and the wings were cooked just right. In the three years that I have traveled to Scott and ate at Uncle T's I would be the first to say by far they have the best charbroiled oysters I have ever had. Even better than Acme in New Orleans. I don't know what happened this year but they were the worse I have ever had. I heard from a local the oyster season hasn't been good this year, but that to me is no reason to serve anything other than what you are known for. I understand oyster shells are recycled and oysters in a jar are used instead. So unfortunate because my next trip to Scott I will not try Uncle Y's because of this experience. read more

I love their grilled oysters. They were perfectly cooked. They even have steamed rice. I just wish they cut their sausages. But everything else is good. I really recommend this place. By the way, just an FYI for y'all first timers their mild spicy level has a strong kick. So if you're not a fan of spicy food, stick to mild level. read more

I eat out almost ever meal, and this place was one of the best I've ever eaten. Everything had a twist, 4 different types of charbroiled oysters, even the Caesar salad had a twist. We had the fish chips and chicken strips as appetizers, and they were both unique and amazing. I would compare this restaurant to Jacques-Imo's in New Orleans. We stopped here for lunch on Wednesday, mainly because of the high ratings on Yelp, and were not disappointed! My wife had a BLT on Texas Toast, which she said was very good, while I had their Landry PoBoy, which has shrimp, crawfish, and oysters. It was very good, and both were accompanied by fresh cut waffle fries, which were also very good. It was clean, offered great service, and great food! Worth the trip to Scott! read more

The food was amazing. My fiancé had the crawfish and it was well worth the money. Most of them were the size of her hand. I had a po-boy and the flavor was amazing. And my number one favorite thing was the customer service. Now a days customer service is crap but not here. They were friendly and interactive. All the servers helped each other and it seemed like a team driven place. I definitely would recommend eating here if ever in this area. You will not be disappointed. read more

I was recommended Uncle T's by a colleague that lives in the area. I ordered the oyster sampler (couldn't pass up the delicious char broiled options) and the Landry Po-Boy. Came here on a Friday for lunch while visiting in the area. Got the Holly's charboiled oyster sampler for apps. You get four flavors; honestly the NOLA style was the least tasty of the four (12 oysters for $22). Nowhere near as good as Drago's. We got the everything seafood platter to share to main dish. It was pretty good and had alligator, crawfish, shrimp, catfish, oysters, crab.. huge portions ($32). Overall decent, but i think if you're only going for oysters, go to Dragos. History

Established in 2016.

With decades of history behind the building itself, new owners Anthony and Lexi Hebert have turned Uncle T's Oyster Bar into something special all while keeping that timeless history alive. The original, all-brick building was built in the late 1950s by Lexi's grandfather, J. Warren Landry. It not only housed the Scott Post Office but within the 2,500 square feet were also a laundromat and washateria. In the 1960s, when the Scott Post Office moved to a different location, Cue Time Bar moved in. Cue Time, by namesake, was mainly a billiards room and was a well-known place where important meetings were held among business owners, politicians, and other prominent members of the Scott community. Situated along the train tracks within the art district, the building has become a pillar of the town of Scott and a landmark recognized by locals and visitors.

I was skeptical because of this place because of the choice in seating (once again we come from restaurants and service) and there was a fan behind me but I must say, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. These are the typical items I get but there's lots of other options including salad, dessert, pasta dishes, etc. And the kicker is this buffet is less than $20 per person. But eat what you take because they reserve the right to charge for wasted food. Love this place. I go often.
