1 lb snow crab with corn, potatoes & paid to add mushrooms that were terrible

We decided to try Cajun Claws as it seemed busy enough that it must be good - nope! The boiled crawfish was not only overpriced ($40 for 5 lbs) it seemed really dirty & no flavor sadly. The snow crab was just ok, definitely no sweet flavor that I normally taste. The mushrooms you can add for an additional charge (and the waitress raved about them) were terrible. They were the type Chinese restaurants put in their stir fry which definitely do not belong in boiled seafoods! The good part was the corn was really good & the potatoes were cooked properly. Unfortunately- sorry we even went here & wasted my money! I really wanted to support the restaurant, however; I personally won't be returning.

Great setting for an incredible meal!

From entering the business, I was greeted by two extremely helpful hostesses, who were extremely helpful in setting the scene for a great evening. The surrounding tables were filled with families enjoying their meals, providing the ambiance I wanted. The three pounds of crawfish and shrimp boil with snow crab legs I ordered were seasoned perfectly, satisfying my hunger with excellent flavors.

Found out about this place on good eats with Tangi Pat. Very happy that we stopped here! We love the decor, the friendly service and the phenomenal food. You're ever traveling on I 10 this is a must stop at.

That's the gumbo yuck doesn't even look appealing

1 Star Review Service was horrible. We waited over 30-45 minutes for our food, and when it finally came out, it was still cold. The guy in the back tried to compensate us for the wait by giving us some potato salad and french fries, but I had ordered the gumbo--so that didn't even go with my meal. The food was very bland, and the gumbo had a burnt taste to it. Definitely not worth the wait or the price.

Dirty

Got there at 7 pm. Greeter seemed angry and I could not understand a word she said. We were seated finally. My fiancé ordered fried crawfish poor boy. I order 1/2 pound of shrimp and 1 pound of dongenous crab. At 7:30 my fiancé received her fried crawfish poor boy, me, nothing. She finished eating. At 8:30 still nothing on my shrimp and crab, I asked the waitress for my bill, paid, walked out. Wasted date night. Will not be back. No management or explanation. Also the table Was really dirty and disgusting and it grossed me out.

This is what I look like when the waitress brought corn on the cob out to me instead of steamed shrimp ....

I walked to the bar and asked the restaurant attended/bar waitress. If you all would sell me a pound of steamed shrimp to go .... She said absolutely , 30 minutes later. I received a to go box with onions, corn on the cob, bell peppers, and a few shrimp. ... not for sure if the waitress was incompetent. , or maybe she don't know what a pound of steamed shrimp is ... I don't know, but I canceled the transaction with my bank ... as an OTR truck driver, I will not go back there again ... I even canceled my $15 tip .... On a $20 meal. ...

This place is huge! Perfect for USL and Saints games! They have a nice bar and service is good. Crawfish were very tasty and absolutely huge. They have an extensive menu and we will return to try some crawfish étouffée.

I was so excited to eat crawfish in Louisiana! After some searching, found this spot off the highway. 5lbs of crawfish, 1.5 lbs of shrimp. I've never been so happy peeling crawfish for a hour lol. This was beyond good! I thought the crawfish were huge but a lady chatted with us for awhile (I secretly think she was appalled by how we were peeling the crawfish;)) and said crawfish season was in April and to come back then. I will definitely be back at some point in prime crawfish season! Took the churro bites to go for the road trip back to Houston and they totally hit the spot. Dipping sauces included vanilla, caramel and raspberry. Well worth the drive to eat here!

Seafood gumbo

Was excited to try the seafood gumbo, but was extremely disappointed. The broth was very light and bland- basically watered down. It only came with shrimp and very few pieces of crawfish in it with a side of rice. The shrimps were a great size, but the meat itself was lacking flavor. The spicy seasoning was sprinkled on top of the shrimp, rather than being cooked with it along with the corn and potatoes. The seasonings on the table had to be used to give it flavor. I guess I'm just used to a different style of seafood boil.

Responding to Chelsa K.'s 1* review. As I am someone who was in the restaurant when it happened…read more I just think it's funny how you aren't mentioning y'all came in as 6 people and then wanted accommodations for 30 people during one of the busiest times of the night. Or that they argued with the amazing manager for nearly an hour total after being told they couldn't accommodate that size party. They're also leaving out the part where people from their group marched in and seated themselves, stood over occupied tables waiting for guests to leave, insisting the hosts clean the tables, and made the entire restaurant uncomfortable. This had nothing to do with race and everything to do with behavior. Any group acting like that would've gotten the exact same response. In short, do better. Y'all came in and ruined everyone's dinner because y'all don't know how to plan ahead. Stop blaming people for your mistakes and take accountability.

This may have been part of the reason its wasn't all that busy on a Tuesday lunch. Similar to some other restaurants in Louisiana I've visited, they have a side with a bar, to-go area and high tops, and a more family oriented side of the restaurant with a bunch of low top tables. Fried pork rinds are served with every table. They have daily plate lunches and the one day I came it was chicken fried steak. However, it's not usually a good idea to order CFS outside of Texas in my experience. Therefore, I ended up ordering the catfish and shrimp platter, served grilled instead and added a $5 strawberry margarita. The entree comes with a side salad but they only have seelct dressings and none which I would typically order, so i just settled on honey mustard. Margarita- for only $5 it's not bad and comes with either sugar or salt rim Catfish and shrimp platter - seasoned with a blackened seasoning but it wasn't spicy. The catfish filet was small and tasted like it was previously frozen. The shrimp were also small and didn't taste much better. Not sure I'd return if ever in Lafayette, as I was really looking for a more festive environment and more grilled options.

The Cajun Table - 8 EMPTY TABLES. All clean. All ready to go. But somehow they were all off limits to me.
