I love this place. My husband always gets me chicken and sausage gumbo bc he is a yankee and doesn't eat gumbo.

Went last night. Driveway & parking are rough, glad we were in a JEEP. The boiled crawfish were "medium" size & still expensive. Advice: Call ahead & go early. The seasonings except salt are applied to the outsides of the shells after cooking. So Cayenne gets on hands, eventually on lips & nose, then eyes. Just order "regular/mild" and season with the dipping sauce. We never do it that way at home. The underlying problems are from difficult crawish crop & supplies, for several years now. All the crawfish places are experiencing this. Overall, this has been an excellent place for boiled local seafoods. Will wait to try again in a few weeks. The shrimp are fine, "A-OK", & a bit less expensive. read more

We decided to try Cajun Claws as it seemed busy enough that it must be good - nope! The boiled crawfish was not only overpriced ($40 for 5 lbs) it seemed really dirty & no flavor sadly. The snow crab was just ok, definitely no sweet flavor that I normally taste. The mushrooms you can add for an additional charge (and the waitress raved about them) were terrible. They were the type Chinese restaurants put in their stir fry which definitely do not belong in boiled seafoods! The good part was the corn was really good & the potatoes were cooked properly. Got there at 7 pm. Greeter seemed angry and I could not understand a word she said. We were seated finally. My fiancé ordered fried crawfish poor boy. I order 1/2 pound of shrimp and 1 pound of dongenous crab. At 7:30 my fiancé received her fried crawfish poor boy, me, nothing. She finished eating. At 8:30 still nothing on my shrimp and crab, I asked the waitress for my bill, paid, walked out. Wasted date night. Will not be back. No management or explanation. We arrive right after opening and there appeared to be only one waitstaff but it wasn't busy and she did a grand job of greeting us and making us feel welcome. Her service was impeccable. I was so excited to eat crawfish in Louisiana! After some searching, found this spot off the highway. 5lbs of crawfish, 1.5 lbs of shrimp. I've never been so happy peeling crawfish for a hour lol. This was beyond good! I thought the crawfish were huge but a lady chatted with us for awhile (I secretly think she was appalled by how we were peeling the crawfish;)) and said crawfish season was in April and to come back then. I will definitely be back at some point in prime crawfish season! Took the churro bites to go for the road trip back to Houston and they totally hit the spot. Dipping sauces included vanilla, caramel and raspberry. Well worth the drive to eat here! read more

Was excited to try the seafood gumbo, but was extremely disappointed. The broth was very light and bland- basically watered down. It only came with shrimp and very few pieces of crawfish in it with a side of rice. The shrimps were a great size, but the meat itself was lacking flavor. The spicy seasoning was sprinkled on top of the shrimp, rather than being cooked with it along with the corn and potatoes. The seasonings on the table had to be used to give it flavor. Went and got 2 bowls of gumbo for take out on a stormy day. It came with rice and potato salad. I will say it was edible but I've had much better. Just chunked chicken breast for the chicken. The sausage was rubbery. It was a very light gumbo, I prefer a dark rue over light. The potato salad was very bland. The gumbo was also bland but I was at home with all my spices do was able to spice it up real good. Since they have very good reviews, I'm feeling like this is probably just not their signature dish and so we will have to go for dine in and have some crawfish or shrimp to give a review more on what they seemingly specialize in, more than just a bowl of gumbo. read more

Who knew you could pull off the interstate next to truck stops and be so delighted by the food and service! The catfish as perfect! The burger was good! It was nice to find a local joint, situated close to the stop for the day, that had hot, fresh food. We visited here from out of the state. The food is VERY spicy which we were not used to! If you love spicy food this is the place for you. I got the etouffee; the crawfish were very moist but a little chewy. My friend got the same with fried fish added. The fish was very tender and moist, it was fantastic! Sweet tea had a fresh taste and was perfectly made. Our waitress was a little distracted by a visiting friend so we waited a while for our check. Although she was nice! I almost found myself licking the plate when I'm done. Come to find out Mimi is the grandmother and it's her recipe and it's never been changed. I hate to say it but, I'm sorely disappointed with this place. Although our waitress was sweet, service definitely lacked. The food was fine. It definitely wasn't bad. A little under seasoned but, not bad. Cooked very well. Sweet potato fries were awesome as well as the funnel cake fries. My in laws really liked the fried mushrooms too. We were expecting to pay around $75-$90 for our family (my husband, my toddler, and Myself). The base total came out at $77, no problem. They added 18% gratuity (which you have the option of removing or adding to). We paid it because I hate shorting people but, I really don't feel that I should have. Upon entering, we told the hostess we had 8 adults and 3 children, one who needed a high chair. She said it would be at the table when the table was ready. Great! Thanks! Got called to the table, no high chair. I asked my waitress TWICE for a high chair and it never came. My toddler was bouncing around when her food came out so, I went and found one and brought it back to our table. Then we waited about 30 minutes for a drink refill as I counted 8 staff members just hanging out by the kitchen register. My sister in law finally got tired of waiting and went up to them with our glasses and asked for refills. We waited a really long time for the checks... I wouldn't mind going back if the service were better. I just don't think I will tempt it for $89.97 (after tip) again anytime soon. read more
