I went there for an afternoon walk. I got their original cheesecake and pandan cheese cake for a friend birthday. The pandan cheesecake was coconutty. It was pretty fresh and yummy. The service was pretty good and the server was very nice and recommended me to try it out to get it for my friend birthday.
Yummy cheesecakes! Great to bring to a party. Love their mini cakes. Have tried their original, pandan, and black sesame, all are super flavorful
I always love coming by Tetsu's for a little Japanese cheesecake action. They did increase the price from $15 to $16, but still a worthy buy that's easy to eat and easy to share :) I actually went with the strawberry flavor this time to try something new (I usually go for ube or the seasonal - like the mango one was really good!). I'd say the strawberry is more of an okay flavor - more of the strawberry-milk flavor than strawberry-fruit which is fine. The cheesecake was a little drier than normal too - though I did go pretty much near close time. Overall, I still enjoyed the cheesecake and would go back for more hehe :)

Very disappointed by my experience with online ordering at the Stonestown location. I placed an order through the Uncle Tetsu website for delivery on a Saturday afternoon and was given the runaround for 2 hours before my order was cancelled. I attached screenshots of multiple DoorDash drivers telling me that they could not wait for my order because they were having issues with their ovens or other logistics. Four different drivers over the course of two hours texted me that the employees of Uncle Tetsu said it would be a 40 minute wait each time. I also tried to call the store just to cancel my order so that they wouldn't have to worry about it and I could order elsewhere. Also no answer over the course of two hours and there was no option to cancel online. When they finally cancelled my order, they lied and said the cancellation was due to the delivery driver not showing up for pick up! Well, I have conversations and pictures sent from the delivery drivers saying otherwise. Overall a very strange experience, and I would not have been upset if someone had just picked up the phone to let me know what was going on so that I could just move on with my day. I totally understand that logistical issues and equipment malfunctions can happen within reason, but COMMUNICATION was nonexistent here. I ordered from Serramonte immediately after and it was delivered in 30 minutes.
While picking something up at Stonestown, we ran into Uncle Tetsu and we both had to pick something up. The staff member helping us was very sweet and patient with us as we asked her about the ube cookies and new cheesecake flavor. I ended up getting the mango cheesecake and some Ube cookies while my friend got a cheese tart and the small cheesecake. I'm sure my friend enjoyed her treats with her family as much as I enjoyed mine at home. I really liked the ube cookies and was debating whether I should make the hour drive to get more! The cheesecake was light and fluffy - there was a good hint of mango, but it wasn't overpowering. I would definitely come back for more when I'm in the area.
Uncle tetsu is one of the best cheese tart in the Bay Area! In my opinion, the original cheese tart from Uncle Tetsu's is consistently the best choice.
I ordered and tried the original cheesecake from Uncle Tetsu. It's a light, fluffy dessert that's easy to share with family or a small group. Pleasant and airy, though not something I'd go out of my way for.

I've gone back twice this month for this soft and fluffy pandan cake! You might have to get 2 because this is small and barely 3 servings. It's really fluffy and light so a normal slice wouldn't do. You'd have to cut it in thirds! lol

One can never go wrong with the good old Original Japanese Cheesecake flavor. It almost always NEVER disappoint. Love their cheesecake here. My family and I got hooked on this cheesecake ever since we tried it at Hillsdale Mall in San Mateo. We are so glad that we have one right in our own backyard in SF. We tried the Smores one during the holidays and although equally as delicious as the original the look and execution doesn't match. The place is kept clean which is a plus. Sometimes they even give out samples which my kids like. Will definitely be back to try out other stuff on their menu.

Very disappointed with my experience at the Uncle Tetsu location. My mom's church ordered a large quantity of mini cheesecakes from this location for a Mother's Day event for everyone to take home. When I got home and took my very first bite, I discovered a long hair embedded inside the center of the cheesecake. Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable, especially for food that was prepared for a special occasion. Hoping management takes food safety and quality control more seriously moving forward. read more

I bought the original cheese tart and got the mini ube cheesecake for free for national cheesecake day and being an e-mail subscriber. I wanted to try the pandan coconut flavor but only ube left. It was very yummy! Perfect to celebrate finishing my first ever full marathon! read more

It's been a minute since I've been here but still just as good. I appreciate their seasonal flavors. The pumpkin and Ube (especially) tarts were fire. The crust was shortbread. The s'mores (another seasonal flavor) cheesecake was delicious. Not too overpowering. Just a hint of s'mores that didn't over power the actually tasted of the cheesecake. Unfortunately, when I opened it at home, the cheesecake looked compressed and cracked, with deep marks in the center and a broken edge (see photo). While I was at Stonestown, I decided to try another cheese tart, specifically the matcha flavor. The other current flavors are the original, ube, and black sesame. It was a quick process to get my food and pay. The store staff put the tart into a small paper bag so while I was carrying it outside, part of it broke off inside the bag as you can see in the photo, but fortunately we were able to salvage that part. The top of the tart is more hard whereas the majority of the body is actually soft and gooey. I was surprised by how sour the cheese tasted in this, which makes for an interesting combination with the slightly bitter and savory flavor of the matcha. It's not bad, it just wasn't necessarily what I expect when I see the word "cheese." The bottom of it is more similar to what you might get in a fruit tart, it's not that flakey like an egg tart would've been. Overall I thought it was still good, but I'm curious what it would taste like if the cheese was less sour and if the matcha flavor was even stronger. read more
Came in on the day before Christmas Eve. The mall was buzzing, looked like a tornado went through Sees candies nearby - but this was a quick and pleasant experience. Ordered an original and a basque. They had both in stock and appeared to have enough of everything. That is no small thing right before the holidays. Somebody behind the scenes must have predicted demand well. The original went to a friend as a gift and the basque was for company to enjoy. It was great as always. I've tried lots of the different varieties and I do think that the original is the best value and a crowd pleaser. If your a Cheesecake fan you might also want to try Zanze's in the city. Its like a soufflé and needs to be cut with fishing line as its so delicate. Overall, worth a little drive. Where malls are dying across America this one seems to be doin well and it has a great variety of relevant stores. read more

This place has amazing desserts! It was a takeout counter near the food court in the mall, and there were a few scattered tables nearby. The original cheesecake tart was amazing. A bit noisy, but great for a quick sweet treat. read more
I always crave sweets, so I had a feeling that the cheesecake here would satisfy that sweet tooth. They have many flavors but we opted for the original since it's our first time trying their cheesecakes. The cheesecake was so fluffy and was the right amount of sweetness for me. The texture is light and airy but with a touch of firmness from the cheese, it's a combination of textures I've never experienced from a cheesecake. Because of how light it was, I was easily able to eat half of the cake in one go. I'm looking forward to when I can eat these again! read more

When my family and I were in Japan, my mom fell in love with the fluffiness and softness of Japan's cheesecakes. I was glad to find them here as well. If you've never had this type of cheesecake, it's similar to a soufflé. The texture melts in your mouth with a light creamy cheese flavor. Service was extremely quick because they already have some cakes in boxes already. I received my cakes right away after I paid at the counter. Flavors I recommend: 1. Original cheesecake- The original is always my mom's favorite. The cheese in this one is most apparent due to no other added flavors. 2. Pumpkin spice (seasonal flavor)- I've tried their pumpkin spice flavor and loved that one. They blend the flavors together so well. If you are a pumpkin spice fan, you're going to love this one. 3. Lychee rose cheesecake (seasonal flavor)- According to staff, this is their current bestseller. To me, it tastes more like rose with a subtle hint of lychee. Although I have had their cheesecakes on several occasions, this was the first time actually going to their location in Stonestown for two cakes for my wife's b'day. I was the first customer when they opened at 11 am but the only thing that they had available was their pumpkin cheesecake and had to wait an hour as their matcha and original were still baking. No worries as I paid and picked them up when they were ready. read more

I love Uncle Tetsu cheesecake. Japanese cheesecake is not your typical cheesecake. To me, It's kinda like a soufflé. So moist, light and fluffy. Me and my family especially love the Green Pandan Coconut Cheesecake. You just have to try it. read more

Hi Jimmy, yes you may freeze our cheesecake to preserve its freshness. Typically, our cheesecakes last about 4-5 days in the fridge.
