Uncle is amazing!! Food was flavorful, it's a trendy spot, and very unique dishes. I loved everything we ordered that I haven't had anywhere else. The service was amazing and the owner is the best!!! And they also have two other restaurants that having delicious dishes!! You can't go wrong with anything. read more

This is a Top 5 restaurant in Denver!! I absolutely love this place. The spicy chicken ramen is my fav.

Their Spicy chicken ramen is dreamy! Their service is always great and both locations are fun!

Food might be good, might be terrible. I'll never know because we walked out before ordering. They do not cater to any allergies or dietary restrictions of any kind. Someone in our party has an egg allergy and they wouldn't leave the mayo off a dish. The server said "yea, we're one of those restaurants, I don't make the rules" and rolled his eyes. Judging by the mostly empty restaurant, we weren't the only ones that didn't want to give them our business. read more

I definitely consider Uncle a top ramen spot in Denver! Although there aren't too many in the first place, lol. Make a reservation before coming here because this place gets paaaacked, even on a week night. Uncle has a good selection of appetizers, yakitori (the menu for this is in person, not online), and ramen. I went for the spicy chicken ramen, at the suggestion of the waitress (plus, it's not common to see chicken ramen!). SUPER good broth and the noodle texture was perfectly chewy. Forgot to take a picture because it was that good, haha. My friends and I also ordered some dumplings and yakitori-- specifically the pork belly and sriracha tofu. All really delicious! I just wish the serving size was bigger because we inhaled the apps within seconds. However, the ramen bowls are huge and very filling, so thank goodness for that :) read more

If you want to feel like you are a bag of dry cement for the rest of the day come here

I've been waiting to write a review of this place because I wanted to experience it several times to ensure that the amazing food wasn't a fluke. Well, it's not a fluke. The ramen here is easily the best I've had in the Denver metro. Their take out is/delivery (which is all I've been able to have the past several weeks) is also amazing. They package everything separately and give you instructions for heating up the broth before putting the noodles and other things in. You have to arrive early (they open at 5pm) and your entire party needs to be present or you'll end up waiting for a table. They don't take reservations and enough people love their food that they fill up incredibly fast. Definitely worth a dedicated trip to either this location or the one in the highlands. read more

I came here three times in 7 days - I think that says it all. My favs: spicy chicken ramen, and eggplant buns. With a cold beer to wash it all down...I'm drooling thinking about it all over again. read more

Want the best cocktail in Denver, or possibly Earth for that matter? Paris is Burning ..... it's all I have to say. Jeff, you are a god among men. The only thing as good as this drink is EVERYTHING ON THE MENU. We tried it all, and the hits keep coming. If you haven't been, just GO Make a reservation, it hopping. A bitchin staff featuring the lovely Hannah and a great pinch hitter Miguel. Clearly amazing culinary genius at work in the kitchen. It'll be a hard habit to break. read more

Ordered take out for ramen - it was great! Super flavorful. The broth is very interesting and additive to the soup. The best ramen we've tried anywhere. read more

Honestly good food. Absolutely horrible service, the staff honestly super rude. But if you don't mind that, the food is great!

Food was good. Unfortunately, this place is overpriced and they give you a minimal amount of broth on take out orders. read more

I've never quite understood the hype behind Uncle. Moved here from southern california in 2016 so had high expectations when I moved here. I tried it once in 2016 (lohi) and was unimpressed so didnt go back until this year to the new one. The vibe and location is great but the food lacks. There is almost always a wait for dinners and not a ton of room to hang around. Overall: I get the appeal, fun easy to digest japanese food that lacks flavor but it doesnt hit the spot for me in any way. Food/drinks: - cocktails are amazing. I had the house take on an old fashioned and it was great. Japanese whiskey if I remember correctly - Ramen was whatever. I wouldnt order it if I came back here (3/5) - Cold noodles (cant remember the name) were actually very good (4/5) - bao buns - they were decent but honestly so many restaurants have them, I would expect the hype behind this place to elevate them which they didnt do. read more

Best ramen in Denver hands down. If you are looking for a place that never misses, you found it. Cool staff, cool vibes, hot ramen.

The ramen was pretty good but the selection is very limited and there are no modifications or substitutions allowed. There's hardly a vegetable on the menu, let alone a vegetarian option. The appetizers, while delicious, are overpriced for the quantity. Ditto for the wine - only pricey options. They do not accept reservations. In conclusion, this general vibe of the places is that you should be honored and grateful to even get a table and get to eat their food and drink their wine - don't you dare ask for anything else! With the exception of the waitstaff (which is fantastic!), customer service is not the focus here. As a side note, the staff's t-shirts parodying the Denver Rescue Mission were not appreciated by this patron. My friends and I will not be returning. read more

Uncle really brings me back to the ramen shops in NYC. **congrats - that's high praise coming from me. I've been lucky enough to visit Uncle on several occasions (always during the week) and had to only wait no more than 20 mins for a seat. The stars of show are definitely the softshell crab bao buns, ramen, and laska. It's not a cheap ramen spot, so be warned. However, every single item we've had here is worth it! Can't wait for my next visit. read more

Always a great option for dine out with street seating or dine-in. Quality of food has been maintained to a degree (small menu) during COVID; especially the ramen. Could definitely improve beer options. read more

Usually I eat too much of ramen because I can't get enough, I didn't have that problem here... But I'll start with the positives. The restaurant itself was clean, it wasn't too loud even though it was pretty packed, and I liked being able to see the food being made. The service was also good, we didn't have to wait too long for our food or our check, and we also weren't constantly asked if we needed something (which is a big plus for us!). When we got our ramen though, disappointment began. I went with my husband and we both got the spicy chicken. It did have some spice, but the broth and chicken had barely any flavor. When it came to the egg, it was so soft that the moment I broke it open, it fell apart. In my opinion it was too soft that it was unappetizing, and I have had a lot of ramen so I feel like I have a solid idea of what the egg should be like. The noodles were the only thing I liked in the ramen, and there was not much of them in there. For the amount of substance, especially considering it's pretty flavorless, this was not worth the cost, and we will not be visiting again. read more

Food was mediocre at best. Service was slow. The food made us feel really sick the next following days. Kinda pricey for what you get. Ambiance was great, younger crowd but kinda loud. read more

Absolutely delicious ramen and Asian eatery! Their appetizers are delicious but you have to save room for the main course. The vibe of the restaurant is great too, modern and industrial. This place is always busy for good reason, so be sure to prepare to wait and put your name in early. Every time I go here it's delicious. read more

Uncle is the place I take any visiting friend/guest from out of town. With the new backyard set up, it did not disappoint. Not only is the staff attentive, but the buns and ramen were as delicious as ever. The menu seemed to have some restrictions but nothing anyone who hasn't visited before would notice. The tables are picknic setup, however for a pandemic it was understandable. read more

If you haven't been to Uncle yet - this is a Denver must!! Uncle is easily the best ramen I've ever had. Both the Pork Buns and Soft Shell Crab Buns are amazing. If I could only pick one I'd go with the soft shell crab. They're served with a cabbage slaw and this amazing spicy mayo. The buns are soooo soft. Chilled Tofu is a 10/10 - I don't think I have ever ordered tofu at a restaurant, but the ginger scallion soy sauce they use is otherworldly. Pro tip: Save the sauce to dip your buns in! I always get the Spicy Chicken Ramen - it has so much depth and flavor packed into a broth. I am not the biggest spice fan and usually steer away from anything that is spicy, but the spicy chicken ramen has just a little hint of spice, offering more flavor than actual heat. Allison and Javier were super helpful teaching us the menu and digging through all the different sake option for us. They made the meal so much fun! Reservations are not accepted, but you can always put your name in and either grab a drink at their little bar or hop across the street and grab a beer before your meal. We had a larger group so our wait was longer than usual - but I promise the wait is always worth it! ALSO - I have never complemented a restaurants bathroom, but the bathrooms are so cute. Cherry Blossoms hang from the ceiling and it smells amazing. read more

Delicious! A little long of wait, even with a reservation, but once seated, service was amazing and food was even better.

Great Food! Excellent Service! Consistency! They make you feel extra special and not rushed. However, if you're pressed for time, they can easily fulfill an excellent experience and get you in and out. First class service. read more

I've been exciteed to try this restaurant since it opened in wesT wash park! We waited abouut 30 minutes which was the perfect amount of time to get a drink and relax. The bar is easy to navigate as you order at a register and they bring you your drink. Once we got to our table we enjoyed super helpful sergice, people that were passionate about good food and service. The food was outstanding standing. The pork buns are small and delicious. The shrimp is spicy and full of flavor from thE pineapple. The ramen is out of this world! We loveD it! 4 stars because it's super loud and the wait is a bit of a drawback, but we will be back and highly recommend for a greaT night out! read more

A Muslim, a Jew, and a vegetarian walk into Uncle...and they immediately turn around to leave because there's absolutely nothing for any of them to eat there. Lots and lots of dead pig and not much else. I suppose that's a pretty authentic Japanese experience - I had a hard time finding restaurants I could eat at there too (yes, the entire country) - but I expect more from Denver. Especially ramen, which is so easy to make veg that their refusal to do so is almost a personal slap in the face. The worst part was how I was told that a particular dish just doesn't taste good without fish sauce. Frankly, if your chef can't make a good dish without fish sauce, I don't trust their skills anyway. read more

Best ramen in Denver hands down! The spicy chicken is the absolute go to. I've been told that they add tahini to the ramen to give it that absolutely unique and irresistible taste. The sides are amazing as well. I enjoy ordering sides there as well (the salad is an unexpected surprise). The only thing I got there once that I did not like or order again was the soft shell crab. I was expecting it to be a hit but unfortunately mine tasted like burnt oil. Seeing as to how other people consistently order it, it must've been a fluke. Overall a gem in Wash Park! read more

I'm from out of town & this place was recommended to me from some friends. We went on a Friday & the wait was 1.5 hours but we just enjoyed some drinks across the street while we waited. Spicy chicken ramen... best ramen I've ever had. I would go again but it's closed on Sunday's... only bad thing about this place! There was a total of 6 of us and every one of us loved everything. Food 10/10 and service 10/10! read more

The apps are my favorite here! If you want spicy, get the Thai shrimp! Full of flavor and spice and the pineapple cuts through nicely to balance the heat. My favorite is the chicken katsu. Definitely top 3 best I've had and something I don't want to share! It's crispy and melts in your mouth. The ramen is good too however I like customization so if I can't make it my own, I'm pretty underwhelmed. read more

The best ramen in Denver - I'm so glad they opened this new location that is a lot closer to me. The space is bigger, but filled up quickly. As a party of two we were able to be seated right away because we arrived right at 5pm, but only 10 minutes later the place was full with a longer wait. I order the Tokyo shoyu and the brother was very flavorful and had the perfect amount of noodles. I was also loved the chilled tofu appetizer. The tofu was soft and the vinaigrette was delicious. Also make sure to check out the cool cherry blossom design in the bathroom. read more

I got their spicy chicken ramen to-go the other day and it was pretty solid ramen. It doesn't quite compare to the ramen shops I'd frequent in NYC, but it satisfied the craving. The soup was rich and flavorful, but I wish it were spicier. The chicken was good, and surprisingly moist. The bean sprouts add a nice crunch and the scallions add a great flavor. I prefer traditional ramen soft boiled eggs to poached eggs, but the poached egg was nice. The weakest point of the ramen was the noodles, but for takeaway, they were still good. They were softer than I'd like but hard to expect anything more in takeout. Service was friendly and my online pickup order was on-time. read more

First time reviewer here. This restaurant is trendy with good ambience, a friendly staff, but I got to say the food didn't live up to the hype. I will say that the pork buns and dumplings are done beautifully, but the ramen fell short of being work the cost. The spicy ramen chicken is a 3 out of 5 and by far their best bowl. I would say a great place to get a beer, an app, and some good people watching in, but I wouldn't come for the ramen. read more

Super super cool! The wait staff is amazing and the food is excellent! The vibes are also definitely worth visiting for!

I love Uncle! The chicken broth is so delicious, I keep coming back for more. I sub the chicken for the crispy fried tofu. When I brought my friend who does not eat pork, they were able to give her a chicken based broth for the spicy chicken ramen. We've also tried their soft shell crab buns and they're a perfect delicious appetizer. The negatives: the wait times are very long usually and no reservation option available. When you decide to eat Uncle for dinner, you have to commit to the possibility of an hour long wait. The ramen is quite expensive for the portion size. read more

Before I dig in, I just want to get a couple of things out of the way. First, the food was delicious, everything I got was amazing and so far this is the best Raman I've had in Denver. The service was timely, and polite, and helpful. Now to get into the reason I'm writing this. This isn't as much a complaint as a "wish we had known". Personally, I have no dietary restrictions; however, the other half of my party is a pescetarian. I'm also aware that their menu rotates, so it's very possible this review may not always be applicable. All that being said, this restaurant is not very friendly to pescetarian or vegetarian eaters, the former has maybe two options on the menu and the latter only has one. All of the broth options are meat-based, and only one of the three brothless bowls is a vegetarian dish. Getting any of the soup is simply not an option. The menu also states that they "politely decline any modifications to the menu", which I respect but just know your options on paper are the options you have. Given that disclaimer, we made our server aware of the restriction; for the most part, she was as helpful as she could be. The only lapse was when we ordered the "celery salad" hoping for a true vegetarian option; the description of this salad did not contain any overt mention of meat but we did soon find out that it had a sauce with pork in it (we were not aware of what the sauce was by name, but it was listed on the ingredients). Of course, you can never expect a personal experience on every level but we do wish she had chimed in to tell us about the pork sauce before we got our appetizer. Luckily these dietary restrictions are not due to any kind of allergy so it was possible to eat around. Ramen isn't a food we find ourselves having to avoid to get vegetarian and seafood options so I think it's worth pointing this out for anyone who may need the information before they go. However, I cannot back peddle enough just to say how good the food was. As someone who isn't a big fan of celery, that appetizer was the best thing we had all night and I would order it again and again. Add just one or two seafood or vegetarian soup options and we'll be back through the door right away! read more

Oh my gosh, the spicy chicken ramen is to die for. So good! Everything was amazing including the cocktails and service.

Go to uncle all the time. This place is an institution and we're so glad to have it close to the house now versus driving to the original location. The food and service are incredible. We literally waited (something we rarely do because it's so close to the house) over 2hrs to get in. They apologized and brought us free appetizers. It was nice that they acknowledged that a two-hour wait was a bit excessive. All of the employees seem to "get it." Great spot. read more

This place is okay. The drinks are tasty and the staff is friendly but it seems a bit overpriced. Dinner for 2 was close to $90 and the ramen wasn't that good. I would personally recommend Kikis for ramen. Uncle's is in a good location but parking is pretty abysmal and the metal ceiling makes cell service almost non-existent. I'm not saying I would never come back here but I wish it was a little more authentic. For a ramen place, it seemed strange that every single server and member of the kitchen staff was Caucasian. read more

Love Uncle. The West Wash park location is buzzing and lovely. Bigger and more updated than the Highlands location. Spicy chicken is still their best ramen. Their buns are still superb. I just had a problem with the limited time at our table. I set up reservations a week in advanced too. We had from 5-5:50. Which I didn't expect but is ok since my kids and I scarf this stuff down fast. But we didn't receive our dinners until 5:40. .... Not ok. I was upset about the race to finish. So we had them give us to go containers right away. All other tables who were seated after us were served dinners before us so that was confusing too. I ordered the spicy chicken ramen. My daughters ordered the shoyu ramen and the kids ramen. Nothing extravagant. All in all I will not take my kids there again because they felt bad and uncomfortable with the timing issue. I'll probably just order it for delivery/take out. And FYI their spicy is not spicy. It's fine. Very tasty. But not spicy. read more
