Drinks were unique and delicious. I had the Ohtani's interpreter. You can taste all the spices and herbs. The apps were so fresh. Be ready to spend a bit of for the full experience. My ramen was good. Noodles delicious, but the broth could of used a bit more flavor. My broinlaw's curry ramen was really good. read more

Meh experience here after hearing so much hype for the "best ramen in denver". It was a slushy snow day which was perfect for ramen. As it was an impromptu idea, we did not have reservations but we showed up right at 5pm and were seated immediately at the bar. Open kitchen experience so it was nice to watch the chefs preparing plates. We started with the eggplant bao which we liked. The bao was soft while the eggplant had a crispy exterior. Next up we got the oshizushi salmon in hopes of finding a closer location other than Temaki Den to enjoy the delicious bite. Temaki Den does it best. This is a close second that would satisfy the craving, to give it credit. My husband got the Jira ramen. It started out ok but then the arugula became overpowering. I got the Shio which was actually kinda spicy. It wasn't melting but it had a sharp spice. I wish there was some greenery in the bowl. The pork belly was a bit too fatty and had an abundance of bean sprouts which I don't like that much. I will say, I think I just ordered the wrong ramen. Overall, our experience was ok but we were not blown away. I would eventually come back to try more of the menu. read more

Uh- yum! We arrived at 4:45 on a Monday and there was already a line forming! Good sign! We started with the soft shell crab bao buns and the mushroom sushi. The buns were good- but the mushroom sushi was out of this world!! I could have eaten a dozen more! For my main, I had the veggie curry ramen with tofu. Oh wow! So delicious! I'd have a hard time ordering anything different, though one of our friends had the Dan Dan noodles and they looked amazing! I also enjoyed the Cry Me a River cocktail. We were a party of 6 and placed in the corner on the other side of the restaurant. It was a little loud because there was a speaker above us, but I think that may be a problem for that particular table. Service was attentive and prompt! read more

Decided to do an impromptu walk in on a Sunday night and had a great time! Checked in with the host and were seated in about 25-30 minutes at the bar which was awesome to get to watch some of the prep work being done! We started off with some drinks and ordered two appetizers: the Pork Belly Bao Buns and the Sashimi Plate. The pork belly in the bao was so flavorful and melt in your mouth perfect and the fresh veggies added the perfect chrunch in the fluffy bun. The sashimi plate was a nice addition as well, I enjoyed the tuna but the salmon let me down a bit as it was just lacking in the flavor I was looking for. For mains we ordered the Shio Ramen and the Dan Dan Noodles. The ramen broth was wonderfully light but still flavorful and the meats and egg were packed full of flavor as well. I would have loved another piece of the pork belly but because of the chicken addition, it evens out to a good portion size. The Dan Dan Noodles were also packed with flavor and had a nice balance of spice. Overall, very solid experience and will be coming back to try the rest of the menu! read more

The best ramen of my life. I've been here twice and always leave amazed. They are in a great location, right off Broadway with free street parking. The staff is super attentive, always filling the water cups and checking in. The food is so awesome though, tons of flavor. My favorite so far was the spicy chicken (I need it slicker though, even the slice bomb wasn't enough), but their pork belly is also great. read more

Went there last night with the kiddos after an evening at the art museum. The weather had dipped and apparently that means Uncle is popping. 1.5 hour wait on a Tuesday night!! But... the team was kind, sweet, and sat us as quickly as they could. The service was amazing.. they were so sweet and welcoming to younger guests and have a great kids menu (highly recommend the avocado roll... my daughter devoured it). We also had the spicy chicken ramen. Loved the broth but I much prefer their pork belly to their chicken thigh. We got the veg khao soi soup which is a beautiful flavorful curry. We added pork belly. My son loved it!! We had a wonderful night! read more

I have not visited the original Uncle, but this new location is much more convenient, so we decided to check it out. The restaurant is spacious and takes up the corner of the building, but the entrance is odd and obscure. The address is in very large letters, "95 SOUTH PENNSYLVANIA," but there is only a small ramen bowl and a tiny, "UNCLE," at the bottom left. These are on a glass wall to the left of the entrance. The door itself is completely unmarked. Once you negotiate a very cramped foyer and go through the second door into the restaurant, you find a bright and airy, contemporary space with huge windows, an open kitchen, a high ceiling, and blonde furniture. The space is L-shaped with counter seating in front of the kitchen and lots of tables. There's a bar to the right of the entrance, but it's just a workstation without seating. The menu includes sushi rolls, small plates, buns, and ramen. We started with the pork and cabbage dumplings which came in an elegant bowl, sitting in a pool of soy, chili oil, scallions, and cilantro. These were quite tasty with a bit of a kick. We each ordered the duck ramen as our main course on the recommendation of our charming and enthusiastic server. This has a chicken and pork-based shoyu broth with confit duck leg, arugula, corn, a soft-poached egg, Japanese seven spice togarashi (a classic spice blend with heat, citrus, and umami), scallions, and noodles, of course. The broth was very flavorful and the shichimi (togarashi) did the trick. The presentation was beautiful and the ingredients were fine. The soft-poached egg was perfect. Confit seems ubiquitous on menus these days, but it is a difficult, time-consuming process to handle correctly. I did not find the "confit" duck that great. It was OK, but definitely not as tender and flavorful as it could have been. My elderly friend had a hard time with the soup. The presentation was pretty authentic with a whole egg, very long strands of noodles, and large pieces of the duck. Even with a fork he had difficulty negotiating this. It's probably a general comment about ramen, but if you're not experienced with chopsticks, it can be difficult to eat. The staff was extremely friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. The tables were kept spotless at all times, the food came out in a timely way, and everything ran well. It was a nice experience. read more

Great food! This is the restaurant that made my new favorite dish. I'm now obsessed with khow soi soup. It's a great vegan option!! Their fried tofu actually melts in your mouth and is seasoned so well. Their cold tofu dish comes with silken tofu in the best brought ever! Tonight I was able to try a new addition to their menu!! The avocado fried rice was so good! Definitely a new favorite. Can sometimes be hard to get a reservation but it's worth it! The staff is great and the restaurant is modern and cute with an open concept kitchen. Great place for vegans! read more

Solid ramen: I had the Jiro, and it was a bit heavier and fattier than I expected. (Yes, I know... pork belly... but the broth was already a bit thick and it reminded me why I generally like leaner cuts of pork unless they're BBQed.) Decent pricing, for what it is, though certainly pricier than most ramen places around here. They should not need my phone number when seating me, when the restaurant is empty. read more

I hate to say this, I was very excited to order some takeout Uncle tonight on a rainy evening. Been our go-to for years. The ramen was decent at first taste. Nothing to rave about after coming back from Tokyo last month. We also ordered two different rolls of sushi (Salmon Avocado and Negitoro) to complement. & my lord...The rancid and fishy taste these left in my fiancé and I's mouth after having a few bites will be unforgettable. Couldn't even enjoy the ramen after, it was that bad. Not sure if they do taste tests of their food before open or not but this unfortunately changed our perspective on Uncle in perpetuity. Putrid experience. Do better Uncle. read more

First time here after hearing so many great things about it, and it lived up to the hype. Love that this location allows reservations! Our waitress and all the food runners were really great. It was my friend's birthday and they gave us an app on the house which was super nice! This place is not as a ramen spot, but don't sleep on all the other options-- the chicken Katsu and the beef rib panang were SO GOOD. The chilled tofu was surprisingly really good too. It's not something I would've ordered on my own, but it was the dish They gifted us and I'm really glad I got to try it. The Bao buns were also so so good. You really can't go wrong here. read more

Tucked away in the heart of West Wash Park, Uncle is a ramen lover's haven; frankly, it's a place that I've become quite enchanted with. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by a sleek, modern interior, all clean lines and warm wood accents. My husband and I are particularly fond of the counter overlooking the kitchen, where the well-orchestrated ballet of cooks craft each bowl with precision and finesse. It's a chef's theater, and the spectacle is mesmerizing. We've developed a rapport with Angela, who embodies everything a stellar server should be: attentive, warm, and uncannily good at remembering faces. Her thoughtful service adds a comforting layer to an already cozy experience. It's as though every interaction is wrapped in the same care and attention as the food. When it comes to drinks, my husband will get a white wine, but I'm drawn to Uncle's gin and tonic on tap. Crafted with Bluecoat gin, lemongrass, Sichuan, and tonic, it's a bright, herbaceous burst of flavor that dances between citrus and spice, leaving you refreshed yet intrigued by its complexity. It's the kind of drink you want to linger over while watching the kitchen crew work their magic. Now, let's talk food, starting with the eggplant buns. These clouds of joy are a revelation. I'm not one for eggplant, or mayo for that matter, but Uncle has managed to convert me. The eggplant is perfectly cooked--never mushy, with just the right amount of bite. Paired with the soft bao bun, fresh slaw, and a hint of mayo, it's an umami-packed bite that will make even the staunchest of eggplant haters reconsider their stance. My Japanese mother would sing praises to the chef who convinced me to love a vegetable I've resisted for years. On to the ramen, where Uncle truly shines. The Tokyo Shoyu is my go-to, a bowl of warmth that feels like a comforting hug on a cold fall night. The light chicken shoyu broth is rich yet not overpowering, with layers of umami goodness from the soy sauce. And then there's the pork belly--three thick slices that melt in your mouth, accompanied by tender arugula, scallions, and the pièce de résistance: the ajitama egg, with its perfectly gooey yolk. At $20, it's a generous serving, and worth every penny. For those craving a bit more spice, the Duck Ramen is a revelation. The shoyu broth, deepened by both pork and chicken, serves as the backdrop for the confit duck, which is tender and flavorful. The togarashi adds just the right amount of heat, while the arugula, corn, and scallions bring a fresh crunch. It's a bold, hearty bowl that leaves you warm and satisfied. A word to the wise: if you haven't snagged a reservation online, don't despair. Get there right at 5 p.m., and you're likely to score a coveted counter spot. Watching the magic unfold in the kitchen is reason enough to sit there, but with a menu this stellar, it's the best seat in the house. Uncle is one of those rare gems where the food is both familiar and exciting, where every bite feels like a discovery. It's not just a ramen shop--it's an experience, and one that I find myself craving again and again. Parking can be a challenge, since it is all on street, but after a big bowl of ramen, you can walk it off read more

Uncle - Ramen Near Me - Denver, Colorado

We've been loyal customers for years and have always enjoyed the food here--it's consistently delicious and full of bold, exciting flavors. That said, our experience during this recent visit left us disappointed and frustrated. We ordered one of our usual favorites, the Dan Dan Noodles, and as we've done in the past, requested that the peanuts be left off. This time, we were told they could not accommodate that request because they want the dish to remain "authentic." Strangely, we were allowed to remove corn from another dish in the same order, so the policy on modifications felt inconsistent at best. When the Dan Dan Noodles arrived, it became clear that the peanuts weren't integrated into the sauce or cooked into the dish--they were simply sprinkled on top as a garnish. So the refusal to leave them off felt unnecessarily rigid, especially since it would have been an easy adjustment. Adding to the confusion, the menu lists Chinese broccoli as part of the dish, but both of our orders came without it. If the kitchen is insisting on sticking to the listed ingredients for authenticity, it was frustrating to see that standard not applied to their own preparation. We even called their other location, where we usually dine, and were told that while the dish does include peanuts, they are happy to leave them off when requested. It's disappointing to see this level of inconsistency between locations, especially when it affects the guest experience. We still love the flavors and creativity of the food, but this kind of inflexibility--paired with a lack of follow-through on their own standards--makes us hesitant to return. read more

So very, very delicious! Uncle is the place to go for ramen, buns, and bowls in Denver. Uncle is very well known and liked in Denver so thankfully we had a reservation as the wait for walk-ins on a Thursday at 6:30 was reaching over an hour! This was the Uncle on Penn. There is an additional location in the Highlands as well. I opted for the duck ramen as it had been recommended to me three times that evening by three separate individuals. I also split the pork belly bao buns with my friend. Bao buns were 10/10 delicious. Highly recommend! The duck ramen was good. It was flavorful and had just the right spice to it. The noodles were outstanding and the duck was prepared to perfection. It was a good, hardy meal but had a taste of my friend's curry ramen and was immediately jealous of her dish. So, when I go back, I will be ordering the curry! Uncle is a trendy place, very modern and serves up some great food! read more

We arrived a little after 5pm as a walk-in for 7 people. There are only two tables here that seat 8 people, and we were lucky to get one of them. The restaurant was already pretty busy when we arrived, and they open at 5pm! The staff is energetic and friendly. I described to our server that I like herbacious drinks that are not very booze-forward. She recommended Paris is Burning, which had not jumped out at me on the menu, but I ended up really liking it. Lovely minimal space. Open kitchen. Huge windows, lots of natural light. I love how they did the bathrooms with gorgeous flowers on the ceiling. * Paris is Burning - 4 stars The lemon and the ginger were strong on this one, which I enjoyed. A great refreshing, light drink. * Low Spark - 4 stars Whiskey-forward but well-balanced. I don't usually like any amount of whiskey, and it says a lot that I enjoyed a couple sips of this (although I couldn't have drank the whole glass). * Lemon Soda - 4 stars Enjoyed by the kids and adults, refreshing with a slight bitterness. * Thai Shrimp ($17) - 3 stars I'm sure this tasted great, but it was so insanely spicy I could barely taste anything else. Our friends had gotten this dish before and didn't remember it being this spicy. * Pork Belly Buns ($11) - 3.5 stars Good, very soft/consistent bun texture. However, I found the meat underwhelming, a little too hard/lean (despite being right next to a big chunk of fat). * Soft Shell Crab Buns ($15) - 4 stars Tasty with a good crunch. In retrospect a little redundant to get two types of buns. I would get the soft shell. * Duck Ramen ($19) - 4.5 stars Noodles were just the right amount al dente. My partner found the egg a bit too runny, but the shoyu broth was creamy, salty, and delicious. Duck was tasty. * Spicy Chicken Ramen ($19) - 4 stars Again, good al dente noodles. I actually loved how runny the yolk was and how soft the whites were. Our server had described this as "Midwestern spicy"; it was still a little spicier than I'd expected, but frankly after having that crazy spicy Thai Shrimp, this felt like a breeze. The chicken pieces were quite hard. read more

Went to the West Wash Park location. Luckily they take reservations because it was packed - even on a Tuesday night. We had to wait 15 minutes before our table was ready, but the host let us know the progress and gave us a menu to look at while we waited. Definitely worth the wait! Our waitress was very knowledgeable. When she learned it was our first time, she gave us some suggestions and they were all on point. We started with the crispy eggplant buns with a yummy miso mayo. Our second dish was their pork and cabbage dumplings - little pillows of dough in a spicy chili oil. Known for their ramen, I went with the vegetarian recommendation (and I love meat) with crispy tofu. The Veggie Khao Soi was full of many layers of flavor. This heaping bowl of ramen came with yellow curry broth, trumpet mushrooms, chili jam, red onion, and mustards. I thought I would have some leftovers to take home, but it was too good. Guess I will have to return for another bowl. read more

Stopped in on a Tuesday night for dinner and it was very crowded but still manageable to walk in with minimal wait! We kept the meal simple and I just got the spicy chicken ramen. This was known as their top seller and most popular ramen. The broth was tasty and creamy but I honestly don't think I'm personally a fan of chicken in my ramen. The toppings were otherwise fairly simple, generally including bean sprouts / egg / scallions. I know they have other ramen flavors but I wasn't overly amazed by this one unfortunately!! Overall it wasn't a bad dinner but I don't know if it would be my first choice. Perhaps I need to return to try more apps and their other ramen choices? read more

Visited with a party of 3 around 5:30pm on a Tuesday. We had no reservation but were seated and our server arrived immediately. She was friendly and attentive, giving suggestions and advice on the menu. I ordered the Lucky You cocktail at her recommendation. The drink was deliciou, refreshing and beautifully presented, but for $13 I'd have liked to receive more than half of a lowball glass full of cocktail, which once you remove the ice was probably just 3 ounces of actual drink, including mixer. My dining partners had beers which they enjoyed. We ordered the eggplant bao and asked if the miso mayo could be put on the side as a member of our party does not care for mayo and were told no. I respect a restaurant declining modifications to a certain degree, but I find this particular type of small request refusal to be asinine and pretentious. It's not like we were asking for it to be substituted with ketchup or something, simply for it to be on the side. We ordered it anyway, and although tasty it was drowning in the sauce. The ramen dishes were the star of the show, particularly the vegetarian Khao Soi Ramen. Do not miss this! The Jiro ramen was tasty but very heavy on the bean sprouts, and the Tokyo Rameb was great but quite basic. The pork belly on the latter two ramen dishes was out of this world. I would have preferred an entire egg over half of one, though. Overall this was a good experience and I would return. read more

Just moved to the area and it was cooold out. What better to have than ramen? We were out on a Friday night so we had to wait about 15-20 minutes for a seat, which was not a bad wait. Hostess was friendly. We perused the menu and were then seated at the end of the bar. My husband and I each ordered a cocktail - I can't find the name of them from the menu photos on yelp, but mine was very well balanced. A little sweet, there was vanilla in it among other flavors, whiskey I think. Onto the food - I ordered the Jiro ramen - chicken and bonito broth with pork belly, cabbage, bean sprouts, garlic, and egg. SO good - broth was very good and not overly rich/heavy. Noodles and other ingredients in the bowl were equally delicious. I can see why this place was busy!
