A great spot to grab some bread and pastries! There's lots of options and all the ones I've tried taste pretty good, especially considering the price of each bread. It's so hard to find prices like this that have good quality anywhere nowadays. The turtle bread was really cute and tasted good. The store may be small but there's lots of options to choose from.

Interesting location. I'm not sure if you have to pay to park.. no attendant. This place is similar to 85 degrees... pastry shop. By the time we arrived at 6pm. Lots of pastries picked over ... sold out. Love Taro! A sign said spend $12 and get free drink... only option was hot tea. Wonder if these pastries are bought somewhere else and sold at this location. We bought different flavors of crisp cookies: chocolate chip, almond, and coffee cookies.

I've been to Uncle Chuang's many times and it's consistently delicious! One of my favorite things about this bakery is their minimal, clean, ingredients. If you look on the back of almost any item, you will see 4-6 basic ingredients with no weird preservatives or chemical aftertaste. This is exceptional! Went again recently and purchased an assortment for my family. For myself, I bought the Matcha cake and Taro cake. Everyone really enjoyed their desserts. I also purchased a loaf of Taro toast. It is pre-sliced and has a lovely layer of Taro swirled in. I've made a delicious grilled cheese, and even though the Taro swirl is sweet, I enjoy a sweet and salty combo. They have a few different flavors of the "toast" to choose from. You will also be offered a free drink (coffee, hot tea or iced tea-sweetened) with a purchase (I believe it's $12 minimum). I will continue coming back to this bakery and I'm so glad they've been here for so long!

They always have delicious pastries! Recently tried their berry birthday cake -- perfectly sweet. Happy supporting this local bakery!

Uncle Chuang's is a Taiwanese bakery that's been open since 2013. Their second location opened in Pomona in 2019. I first visited the Riverside location in 2017 and it was great. I came recently and bought a few treats. The employees were friendly and I received a complimentary iced green tea for my purchase. Everything was fresh, soft, delicious, and not overly sweet. Each item was a crowd pleaser!

Uncle Chuang's Bakery is an elegant store with elevated, wide variety of delicious baked goods. The staff helped me with a smile. I bought a beautiful sponge cake with strawberries covered with whipped cream. It has a custard and strawberry filling. It was sublime. I also got some fruit tarts. Everything was a work of art. I also liked that the baked goods and whipped cream are not too sweet, allowing the fruit to shine through and intertwine the flavors. I can't wait to go back and try something different. It'll take a while to sample everything! (I'm sorry I stuck my knuckle into the frosting and ruined the beautiful cake!)

First time here, previous experience was at their Pomona location. They appeared to have improved their recipes because the breads here taste much better than Pomona which were dry and undesirable. We spent over $12 and thought we'd qualify for the free drink as advertised. Your choices are iced or hot tea (tea bag + hot water), which isn't that enticing. However, it was a hot day, an iced tea would have been nice. When we walked in there were 2 customers ahead of us. The first one declined the free drink since she already had one. The second customer wanted the promo drink. By the time we paid the cashier said they just ran out of ice tea and didn't offer a substitute. After I asked for the alternative she said hot tea. It was almost 100 degrees as it often is in Riverside. WHY would you run out of ice tea and think hot tea is a good idea? Nonetheless, I had to ask for it as she made no effort (didn't even ask) to give us a drink. Next time we will just buy a couple items or none at all. It's off-putting when merchants don't honor promos or appear insincere; it's a matter of principle, otherwise don't offer the promo. Taste wise the almond puff pastry was surprisingly good. Very fluffy and not overly sweet. We also bought red bean loaf, taro bun, and coconut raisin. All of their breads are made with butter so definitely NOT vegan, but the ingredients are labeled so it's easy to tell if it's vegetarian.

A cute little shop for some Asian pastries, breads, cakes, tea, coffee, ice cream, cookies and savory parcels. Located in the university village shopping center right next to 7-eleven. Rewards cards available for the frequent visitor. The moon cookie is so flaky and filled with a sweet white bean. Overall their sweets are subtle not overly sweet. There's also a refrigerator section with various desserts including their Japanese cheesecake. Light and airy. We've been coming here for years always receiving Fresh pastries & friendly service! We always leave as satisfied customers.

I love this freaking bakery, it's so cute and small. Lots of variety of Asian pastries! Not too sweet. They're all so cute dude. I wished the tarts were more flavorful though. They kinda taste like nothing.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Our first time ever, but definitely not our last...We got a small strawberry and peach cake for my birthday and it was everything I hoped it would be, light, fluffy, and not too sugary...it was perfect!

Uncle Chuang's has been one of my favorite bakeries for years now. Staff is friendly. The inside is clean and well-organized. It's a grab-and-go type situation, so there isn't any seating. There are trays at the entrance, so you just take one, pile on your selections, and take them to the counter to check out. No restroom. Parking is easy since they are located in the University Village shopping plaza. It is a ticketed lot, but you can get a few hours free with validation. It can feel crowded when they're busy because it's a small shop, but the noise level stays relatively mild. They have a good variety of refrigerated and non-refrigerated options, as well as both sweet and savory items. There are some limited drink options as well. The cold sandwiches and pork sung spam musubi are so good! Get there early if you want to try them because they do sell out frequently. I also highly recommend the fruit sponge cakes and honey cakes. Prices are fair. 10/10 recommend.

Most were getting pastries and bread (which you help yourself to and place on a tray & pay at register), but some were also ordering tamales. They also serve smoothies! Ordered two and a half dozen tamales (18 cheese and a dozen pork) but when we got home realized that all the tamales looked alike; as none were marked or separated; and we were given chicken instead of pork. Once reheated, the tamales tasted amazing. We also got a dozen mini conchas at 70c each. Pretty affordable and tasty. The tamales were $35/dozen. Will be back again!
