He ordered the strawberry tres leches cake based on one of the reviews and it did not disappoint - literally the best tres leches I've ever had. I found Lindmair through Yelp as I needed to find a bakery near my work for a coworker's birthday. I originally placed an order for a quarter sheet cake over the phone with Dennis. I was very surprised that he did not ask for a credit card to hold the order. Not receiving a confirmation number, I was concerned that I would go to pick up the cake days later and would be told that there was no cake under my name. As a result, I decided to visit the storefront in person to pay as well as to order a larger cake. Plus I wanted to know where it was in case I was in a hurry when I picked it up. I ended up ordering a half sheet cake as I needed to feed 40 people. Lindmair is located in the Magnolia Plaza in the far left corner of the lot. I was surprised by how the operations were run. Very old school. The orders were taken on a plain piece of paper, no order form with the logo of the bakery; no computer input. You do not receive a formal receipt; only a small receipt with the total you paid. I was greeted by Dennis. I asked him how long the bakery had been in business for. He told me they opened in 1977. They must be doing something right to survived the pandemic. I ordered a lemon cake with raspberry filling and buttercream frosting. I picked up my cake days later. It was not ready but I was OK with waiting while Dennis finished decorating the cake. The decoration could have been a little more fancy but I like they decorated it in the color I asked for. Upon picking it up to walk to the car, the cake was heavier than I expected. The flavor of the cake was great. It was moist (I hate that word but it does describe it). But the filling was fantastic. I wasn't a huge fan of the buttercream. If I return, I will try the whipped cream. I received lots of positive feedback from my coworkers. Numerous people mentioned they would buy this cake for a party of their own. The cost was a bit higher than I expected but given that the cake was from actual bakery and not a grocery or box store, I was happy with the quality for the price. I like supporting small businesses. Bottom line - yes, I would buy again for Lindmair. read more

I was so sad. I went to go get a gender reveal Cake. He had a few cakes on display. I pointed out a white heart cake and I told him I wanted it the same shape and also white, but we needed it a little bigger. 1st: He did not give me a heart cake. And 2: the writing was also in white :( not a huge deal, but couldn't see what it said, so I had to go buy something to write on it. Aside from that, what was upsetting the most was I told him I wanted the inside of the cake to be the color of the gender (blue or pink) and when we cut it. It was all white. The middle frosting in between the layers was a veryyyyyy light pink but not even noticeable. I literally had to go back to my gender reveal message given by my Dr just to confirm. I was expecting the whole inside of cake to be pink or blue. And it wasn't . Not the cake i expected. I have ordered birthday cake for my daughter and when she tried to pick up, they refuse to give the cake to her since the payment was not arranged, even though we already have arranged it when we order the cake. I love this small mom and pop bakery in riverside. The store is very small and old school in an old plaza but their cakes are top notch. I like how they use buttercream not fondant on cakes. It should be noted that since they use buttercream, they can't really make extreme color/ crazy designs as fondant cake. But if you want a simple and classic cake, this is the place!!! They are very friendly and accommodating. We ordered our wedding cake from them, though they don't provide delivery, they helped delivering mine since we were down the street from them. They also allow us to bring our own beads decoration so they can decorate our cake. We like their yellow cake with strawberry mousse and fresh strawberries. I needed a photo cake for my father's celebration of life reception in Riverside. Unfortunately I live quite far away from the area so I tried to research a few places online. I almost opted to purchase from a grocery store but most did not accept photos online or via email and again, I don't live in the area to drop off a photo. I found Lindmair Bakery on Yelp and decided to take a chance. I emailed them about my request and Dennis was very responsive. I called him to follow up on my cake requests and he immediately knew which order I was. I was surprised that I didn't need to send over a deposit. I let him know a friend was going to pick up the cake that day and it wasn't a problem. The cake was beautiful and tasted delicious. I'm almost sad that this bakery isn't near me because I would have used them for future events, e.g. birthdays, retirements, going aways. Another bakery nearby told me they were capped for the whole month, so I was worried. My order was by phone and I dropped in a deposit. He didn't hesitate when I told him I needed the cake in 4 days. I told him the cake I wanted and he mentioned the gold ribbon wouldn't be the same on the website, but I didn't care. I definitely wanted the blue flowers and gold leaves. Picking up the cake was easy and it looked exactly how I wanted it. I should also note the owner mentioned I could bring in my own gold ribbon, but I was confident with whatever they had in their shop. We got the red velvet cake with cream cheese filling and it tasted amazing. The cake was moist and sweet and I couldn't be happier. My parents were happy and my family said the cake looked and tasted great. I love that it looked simple and elegant. I'm definitely considering hitting them up again for a birthday cake.
