They put way too much frosting on them and even the box that they put them in was flimsy and cupcakes weren't spaced apart enough , they just were so top heavy and mushy that they fell over and toppled all over each other and everything was just a mess. Ordered a cake for my gender reveal, which was a very special occasion, however it was not what I expected. Communication and response time was very quick and efficient, which I appreciated. I was disappointed to find out they do not do strawberry cakes (a very popular cake flavor) and was charged $30 extra to dye the cake pink. When I picked up the cake, it looked beautiful however they spelled my last name incorrectly. They "fixed" it, however I could see the smear left on the top of the cake from the mistake, which was upsetting since I paid a lot for the cake. Lastly, there was about 75% frosting and 25% cake, which made my guests not want to eat it since it was way too much frosting. Overall I wish my experience was different. read more

One year over due review, but better late than never. Planning our wedding in 2021 for a January 2022 wedding was stressful. Luckily we found Eagle Glen Golf Club which included cake for their packages - that's how we know about tasteful cakes. At that time, cake tasting at Tasteful cakes was a different experience than what I imagined wedding cake tasting would be like. Our samples of cakes with different fillings were placed in a box and we sampled them outside of the bakery. We made our food tasting at the wedding venue the same day so we had sampled the cakes at the venue after our food tasting which worked out well. Due to Covid, we had a virtual meeting with Tasteful cakes (I forget her name but she was awesome!). The meeting went well, the lady knew we had a budget and we didn't want any upgrades. She gave recommendations such as the gold ribbon and it turn out exactly what i had pictured in my head. First time to try this bakery for a special birthday for my mom. Didn't order in time to pick my flavors because I was originally going elsewhere. I would say for a white cake and basic lemon raspberry filling (their most popular) was Good. I worked at a high end bakery in Signal Hill for 9 years so I know good cake and all the secrets to actually keeping a cake fresh. I know everyone out there thinks the cake gets moist based on the ingredients. No cakes ingredients make it moist based on what they drench it in before icing the cake to seal it. I had tried The cream cheese 1st and tasted nothing like cream cheese but ok pass on that... presentation was good and my only complaint would be the icing. Not the best tasting buttercream but hey we pushed that part aside and ate the cake. For $47 not pre ordered I won't go back but hey I tried and it's a matter of opinion and yes I may be a little critical of taste but we all should. Customer service was ok yet I did wait about 20min for a lady to place an order when I just wanted something form the case... the important thing is it was good and expected to be that and I would say if I'd paid less it woulda been worth it but we live and learn read more

Reach 4 the stars was the theme, we asked for a galaxy themed cake using pastel colors. We got a cake that looks as if our own toddler decorated it. You can't tell the planets are even planets. We had a multiple guests ask us" if the balloons on the cake were edible." I mean come on. This isn't a bargain store, they bill themselves as upmarket as well as "delicious works of art" on their own google ad page. We had used them for multiple cakes before and will never make that mistake again. The cake also tasted extremely bland and overall mediocre. We called and spoke to the owner Patty ( she claimed to be the owner at least ) she was extremely dismissive of our concerns. Her whole attitude was dismissive, unprofessional, and disrespectful. We picked one of the cakes they had displayed (all of them are gorgeous btw) and it was such a hit. We chose the vanilla cake with raspberry and lemon filing.
