Came here for some pastries and refreshments. Nice little pastry shop with lots of different pastries and sugary goodies. They have macaroons to fruit tarts to cakes to cookies and a whole bunch of other tasty treats. So many shapes and colors and smells from here!! They also have a lot of different caffiene options. Coffees, tead and everything in-between. Lady working here is super nice. But theres only about 4 or 5 small tables inside. So its hard for a large party to get comfortable in here. There was 9 of us cuddles around 2 small round tables. We just felt like we were in the way of foot traffic and everything. I enjoyed their pastries. We got a fruit tart as well as another small pastry. It tasted pretty good. Not overly sweet. Flavors are well balanced. Paired well with the coffee!! I hadn't been to Choco in a few months as we moved out of the area, however we were considering placing a catering order for a wedding reception and decided to drop in. We left very disappointed. Even though the parking lot was packed as it was lunchtime, we were the only customers. The bakery cases (which were full of fingerprints and needed to be wiped down) had very little selection and what was available was overpriced. We purchased a selection of cookies to try. Unfortunately, the quality we expected based on our previous experience was lacking. The cookies tasted stale and the lemon bars were bitter rather than tart. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with the water I asked for. We originally got a macaron, a mini tart a croissant sandwich an iced coffee and a latte. I didn't buy my daughter a drink because the sugar of the pastries was enough and thought she would have been fine, but she ended up asking if there was water. So I thought I could ask them for a cup with water. I realized they had a fridge with a big bottle of a water that said PH water for sale but figured for what she drinks, I would just ask if they could give me a cup of water. The girl was friendly, and said yes even offered ice. However, I realized the water was coming straight from the tap. I didn't really want to think bad because I'm sure many restaurants even Starbucks might use tap water, but when I saw the cup with water it was yellow and looked dirty. I walked to my table and told my little one she could drink it and that I would explain it to her outside. The problem I guess it's not the tap water, it's how dirty the water looked. Honestly, when I told my daughter that, we grabbed our stuff and decided to leave. It makes me worry if that's the water we have in our drinks(very likely) and I got really bummed that I spend $22 dollars on this visit. I couldn't drink my latte after that and I regretted not going to the Starbucks right in front instead. Unfortunately, I will not be visiting this place again. I like supporting small businesses, but this I really wouldn't want to support. I'm a stay at home mom who works side hustles to be with my kid so that's my money I spent here because it was an outing with her and our friend. The pastries are good, but the croissants and drinks aren't special in my opinion. The croissant sandwich wasn't warm . It felt like the ham was just folded with cheese and put in the microwave for a couple seconds. The cheese was barely melted. Would I have came back even knowing that, maybe. But not after seeing the water they gave me. I couldn't believe the audacity to give me a water that clearly was yellow. It makes me doubt what they use for the rest of the stuff. So unfortunately that was enough for me to not want to come back. It looked worse in person than in the picture I attached. If they didn't mind giving this to me it can easily be disguised in the food and drinks if that's what they're using. read more

We also got the pistachio baklava, rose macaron, a mini napoleon, key lime pie, and the Dubai chocolate. I also ordered a pistachio rum ball but she gave me a walnut rum ball. Workers were really sweet but the service was really slow. Took me awhile before I sat down. I paid once I got my order, but I think they should've rang me up before then prepped my food. The carrot cake was my favorite of all of these. It tasted almost like a cheesecake. It was nice and cold and the flavor was just right. The chocolate croissant could've been better. It just didn't taste fresh and fluffy like a normal croissant would. As you can see, it's a little more flat. The pistachio latte did not have any taste of pistachios in it. I think they just added pistachio crumbs on top and called it that. I definitely want to try more things though because a lot of the stuff looked good, such as the baklava and cannoli. A week ago I placed a custom cake order for pickup today for my mother's 50th birthday. I told them she LOVES banana cake and purple and asked if they could make it (we have a bakery in OC that makes FANTASTIC banana cake but wanted something local). They agreed to do a vanilla cake with banana filling in the layers. I ended up paying $40 for a 6" 3 layer cake with banana in the filling and writing on the top with purple decorations. Upon picking up the cake today, they did not do the writing. When asked that they do the writing, they said they didn't have a purple to match. Okay, fine. But when we got home and cut into the cake, I can honestly say I've never been so disappointed. I truly have never had a worse tasting/textured cake. I NEVER leave bad reviews - but this was next level. Frosting was flavorless, cake was SO DRY (like almost stale???), and it wasn't sweet AT ALL. It seriously had no flavor except for when you bit into a real banana slice. I'm sooooo disappointed since this was her big 5-0 birthday! I wasn't expecting the tastiest cake in the world, but my worst-case-scenario was a nice vanilla cake lacking banana flare - we did not get that. I wish I had recorded the crunch as the knife went through each layer of the cake. Did they make it when I ordered it a week ago??? We went over pickup day and time EXTENSIVELY because they wanted to know exactly what hour we would be picking it up today so it would be ready. Needless to say I do NOT recommend ordering custom cakes here. The location was very busy when we picked up so their premade stuff must be good? But this - most definitely - was not. read more

My party went here on a Friday morning to get a couple of sweets. The interior feels a bit empty, but there were some seats inside. The service was friendly and helped us with our orders. Some items that I got was the chocolate roll cake, small cannoli's, and a cheesecake slice. Unpictured is a brownie and lemon bar. The cheesecake felt a bit dense, but very cheese cake. It wasn't for me, but the flavor was definitely there. The chocolate roll cake was light and delicious! I enjoyed it and will get that again if I'm to come back. The cannolis were a bit hard with a very sweet filling. I can't say that I enjoyed them as much as the chocolate cake, but I enjoyed it more than the cheesecake. The brownie was very dense and very sweet. I will stray from that next time because the chocolate felt too much and was too hard / dense. The lemon bar was lighter and wasn't as dense as the brownie, so it was more enjoyable. All of the items ordered were very very sweet but I would come back to try their other items. read more

Stopped here with my kids on the way home, it's actually very close to our house and craved something sweet. Kids got the Dubai chocolate, I ordered the crème brûlée cheesecake bar that they said is made fresh. This is a blatant lie as I worked at a tea cottage a while back and we served the same dessert! It came in frozen, then we would thaw it to serve. It was very yummy don't get me wrong but it's 100 percent the exact same cremeburalee cheesecake bars we would serve. I liked them, as I ordered it instantly knowing where it came from. For them to say it's made there is not true. Also, it wasn't fresh, I know being frozen isn't fresh but it sat and thawed much longer then supposed to. I don't like be scammed so we I'll not return. read more

The staff is amazing and took their time with us as we were deciding on all the yummy treats we wanted to try. We ended up getting a selection of things, but by far our favorite was the New York cheesecake (round) and chocolate cheesecake (round). If you are looking for yummy treats in the area that are reasonably priced, friendly service and something new to try, you have to stop here. You won't be disappointed.
