The food here was pretty good, however, it was shocking how expensive every dish was. The portions were small for some dishes. For two people during lunch, we spent nearly $80 on two appetizers and two entrees. We were still hungry afterwards. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. It's just too expensive for what you can get elsewhere.

The service was really great, the server was super knowledgeable of the saki menu and helped me pick out my drink. The food came out quickly and the vibes were really great. It's a small space but there is a lot going on and the flow is nice. Everything was tasty and the wontons were our favorite. The hamachi crudo was fresh but it was very basil forward. The only dish I wasn't crazy about was the Mentaiko Mazemen - it had very little flavor for the variety of ingredients, so it somehow ended up tasting just like buttered noodles. Everything else was flavor packed though.

Such a cool place to stumble upon. We were blown away by the bao buns, we ordered the waygu brisket. The buns were perfect! Both of our sushi rolls were great, it was refreshing to see a sushi menu with creative rolls. Sitting at the noodle bar is a must!

We had a mixed experience at Ukiyo in Savannah. While the food itself was good, the service really took away from what could have been a great meal. We waited an extremely long time for both our drinks and food, and it was hard not to notice that our waitress spent nearly three hours chatting with another table and socializing with coworkers instead of checking on us. That said, the food was definitely a highlight. We ordered the ramen, kimchi rice, wagyu bao buns, and a sushi roll, and everything we tried was flavorful and well prepared. If the service were more attentive and timely, this place could easily be a standout. Hopefully this was just an off night, because the food has a lot of potential.

Very nice ambiance, and friendly waiter. Like that their concept is to bring food as it's ready. Food is on the pricier side for sushi, but the ramen looked more reasonable. Had a seafood noodle dish - I enjoyed it, but not enough to get it again, felt the sauce was a little one dimensional. The shrimp in the dish were super tasty. All in - would come back for ramen, but probably go elsewhere for a wider variety of sushi rolls.

Amazing! The sushi, the gyoza, & the wagyu buns were so yummy! The service was good & it's so pretty inside. Wasabi martini was also incredible!

This place badly wants to be higher class than it actually is, which is funny bc a true izakaya is the exact opposite of the pretentiousness it gives off. I get that it's closer to downtown, but that's exactly it, but it's across the street from hip and lowkey Starland Yard and doesn't fit into those vibes. We came in without reservations on a Sunday night around 6 and was placed at the bar bc we didn't have reservations. All good there and to their credit the place did fill out by the time we were leaving around 730. Service at the bar was prompt and friendly. Sake selection is pretty good, Japanese whiskey selection is a joke when combining selection with prices. Menu was varied enough, and props for having stuff like okonomiyaki and takoyaki (had this, good but not great). I ended up getting the tonkotsu ramen which was solidly above average and featured some really good chashu. However at $21 a bowl, wouldn't be in my top 5 in Atlanta with prices upwards of 20% less. At the end of the day this place is fine, really, but just that. I wouldn't come back on my own accord but if friends wanted to I would accommodate.

Ukiyo is fantastic. The sushi and ramen are both incredible, and the drinks are just as good. I've been twice already and each visit has been consistently amazing. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to again. Highly recommend!

Made a reservation and arrived early but was immediately seated. The host and servers were all friendly and provided great recommendations on the menu. The ramen and edamame were my favorite on the menu!

The food was super super tasty. My favorites were the scallop dish and nigiri sampler. Our server was friendly and quick. The design inside was cool and temperature was just right. The only thing they missed on was, when the food runner came with our nigiri sampler, he quickly dropped it without explaining to us what each fish was. While it was delicious and some were fairly obvious, when you are paying $40 for a dish, I think that deserves an explanation. We had to ask our busy server to come over and explain it to us which took a bit.

Best Japanese restaurant in Savannah, GA Sashimi was very fresh. Rolls were tasty. Even noodles were very nice.

Chef Money Mike!!! Him and Mark and Dillion really made our first experience A1!!!! I ordered the sashimi Chefs choice and man did they put on a show!! all the cuts melted in my mouth !!! Mark was so friendly and communicative the entire time, he even gave my friend a birthday noodle bowl!!! Brooke my server was always close by to make sure we had the best time, she was very attentive and educated on the dish or cut we asked about. I will for sure come back next pay day !! bread pudding is a must to end the night right !! Kaleb was awesome too !! Ask for Chef Money Mike (it's just Chef Mike but he got the money out of us so we renamed him)

Unique spot right in the middle of Starland District. I went with a Japanese Whiskey & Fernet mixed drink that was unbelievably smooth tasting. Tried a few different small plates... the Salmon spicy roll as well as the crispy potatoes with chili oil were a big hit. Service was top notch. Pro tip - sit at the counter & watch all the food being made to perfection Great vibes

I found the food to be a bit bland. Good portions, kinda tasteless. Street parking only.

Amazing ramen cooked perfectly! The egg really stole the show and the pork was super tender and not too spicy!

Verenice was the BEST! Give that girl a raise or a promotion! She was doing it all! From taking orders, bringing food out, and cleaning up tables! She helped us navigate the menu/ordering. She also brought out our food to the table and was so helpful during our first time here. There were lots of ramen options to choose from. You choose your broth and meat option and that tells you your price. You can add extra toppings for additional costs. Runs about less than $20 a person. They have fountain drink options as well as other Asian drinks. They have rice bowl options as well as meat on a stick. They don't have kids meal options but it's about $8 for noodles and broth. Which is a good option for kids. I ordered shoyu broth for my son. I didn't realize it would taste so salty. I understand it's a soy sauce broth. But most ramen broths I've had isn't to that degree. I asked if they could add hot water to the hot water to make it less salty. Verenice again was so helpful, she brought the ramen back out and said if I needed more water added to just ask. I will say I did not appreciate the additional comments from some of the kitchen staff. The place is decorated with lots of anime characters. They have a vending machine with goodies. A claw machine with stuffed animals and lots of Pokémon cards for sale.

The service was good. You place your order at the counter and pay before finding a seat. However, the food was a bit underwhelming. The tonkotsu ramen was mediocre and would have been better if it had been served steaming hot. The fish cake skewers were also okay. Overall, I wasn't very impressed with the food. I'm glad I was able to try it, but I'm unlikely to return.

I was genuinely excited when Sakyura opened. It's always great to have another restaurant nearby,…read moreand during our first few visits, the food seemed promising. My husband especially enjoys the sushi--it's fresh, nicely presented, and has been consistently good. The gyoza is also decent: crispy on the outside, flavorful on the inside. And the noodle dish I've had several times is good. That said, our more recent visits have been disappointing overall. I ordered the pho tonight, and while it had a ton of noodles, the broth was almost completely lacking in flavor and there was barely enough of it to call it soup. Pho should be rich and aromatic, and this just didn't hit the mark. Took a few bites and called it. I've also had issues with the chicken in other dishes--it has a very odd, almost rubbery texture that makes it hard to enjoy. We've tried the bento boxes too, and while they look appealing, the meat isn't cooked in the sauce--it's just spooned on top, which leaves the dish feeling disjointed and almost like a microwave dinner feel. Service is another area where the experience falls short. Even when the restaurant isn't busy, the staff tends to be distracted and not very attentive. They're not unfriendly, just not especially engaged or warm, which affects the overall atmosphere. There are definitely some highlights on the menu, and I still think this place has potential if they can improve the consistency and refine the service. For now, Sakyura is a hit-or-miss experience--but we're still hoping it turns into the neighborhood gem we were excited about in the beginning.
