    Pint ice creams to go
    Victor G.

Uji Time Dessert opens where Kanpai Poke was. Decor is all about Uji's licks & drinks. Menu has expanded since it's beginnings. Kraw games too. Offerings: drinks (flavored milk tea, matcha boba, milkshakes, smoothies, slushies, floats), soft serve ice cream, mochi ice cream, ice cream in pints.. Quick courteous service once i decided what to order. Minutes. Licks: ube soft serve waffle cone (7) -very generous serving. Tastes naturally sweet. -choice of black sesame, matcha, chocolate, vanilla, seasonal flavas. Single row of tables + single seats inside. Soft music in background...parking lot inadequate at peak times..

This place recently opened in Sept, in a large parking lot that had a good amount of space to easily find parking. The menu was overwhelming, they had so many selections to choose from. They had a ton of soft serve selection! The wife and I were able to sample a few, I got the matcha ube swirl, and she got the peach vanilla swirl. The flavor of the matcha was a bit bitter to my taste, so pairing it with the sweeter ube made it a good combination. Overall, I'm excited to come back for summer and enjoy a delicious soft serve!

Finally we get a proper Uji Time here! Yay! Anyways, my fiance and I came here for a late-ish snack/dessert/dinner. Their menu is fairly extensive in which that was pretty neat. They even have proper rice bowls and all. Anyways, we ordered one of their taiyaki ice cream with ube and matcha swirled ice cream with a strawberry and chocolate wafer roll. We also got their Oreo egg puff skewer and their gyudon, popcorn chicken, and their curly fries. Since my fiance got the ice cream, I tried a bit of it and was pleasantly surprised at how strong the ube taste was. Their chicken karaage was also amazing. The gyudon is your average gyudon but it does the job when you're hungry. It wasn't bad and if anything, it was pretty good. Just not too special though? Their curly fries are pretty good too. The only minor disappointing part was the egg puff skewer. I would've thought it was stuffed with Oreo or something inside, but it was just an egg puff waffle skewer with a mini oreo on top and a drizzle. Personally a bit too doughy for my liking. Perhaps I'll try the normal egg waffle. The main reason for the -1 star is that the electronic ordering system they have is a bit strange. It doesn't really have a selection for "sit in" dining. It had two selections of "takeout" and "pay for existing order." When we asked a staff member how to order for sit in, he was confused. I don't think it's because he didn't understand us, but rather didn't know the operating system. He ended up grabbing someone else who seemed to give a fairly questionable answer too. Regardless we just finagled our way through. The other part of the -1 star though was the order for the gyudon was wrong. Somehow it came out as a tofu rice bowl and I had to get them to change it. So something with communication may be potentially lacking. Would I come back? Definitely. Given it's a new place, there are probably some growing pains as they say. Seating wise, there's enough seating I think for what it is. But it's not like there's a whole open seating space. Just several tables.

We've been here twice in a week. My older daughter loves anything boba and matcha. Their drinks are okay. Their chicken karaage/popcorn chicken is tasty and my youngest is picky so she eats that. Today we tried the matcha and the matcha ube soft serve. In our 'ohana, only my oldest is not lactose intolerant. The combination of the soft serve and my Trenta Starbucks (I didn't even drink half) has my stomach doing cartwheels and flips this evening. I won't knock off any stars since it was my fault for doing this "combination"; but, lesson learned. We definitely are adding Uji Time to our list of "places we frequent". There are quite a bit of seating in this establishment and the workers are friendly. A few days ago my oldest daughter started a conversation with I believe the owner's son. She was tickled at how friendly he was and that he recommended the matcha soft serve to her. That is why she asked to go today. Lol.

    Black sesame, ube soft serve

Uji time opening in Danville is a blessing for locals- finally, a good spot for Asian soft serve! The black sesame and ube were both great!

Chocolate soft serve with sprinkles, kinako, and Nutella taiyaki on top.

Love the menu of savory and sweet options. The drinks look really good, hope to try next time. The taiyaki with Nutella was addictive on its own. The chocolate soft serve it was on top of was a bit too subtle in taste for me. I think the two toppings that you get with it come with a very light portion so don't expect much there. Friendly staff.

Ube and matcha. Black sesame and choc swirl not pictured but was delish too.

So happy we have this here! So yummy. Clean and fast service. They have lots of food treats too. Will try next time

dirty matcha boba and Strawberry Matcha boba drink.
    E P.

The drinks are so great and I am so glad that the matcha doesn't taste "cheap" or grainy! I loved the matcha and strawberry boba drink. The tapioca was so good, syrupy, and chewy. Service was fast and the workers were kind. I enjoyed the simple decor and natural ambiance of the place. Loved the warm lighting !

    Mango saga

I love this place!! Pictured is the mango saga- it has some sort of rice pearls in there (not traditional and not popping) similar to rice pudding. I usually get the milk tea because I'm basic but I love everything here! Love the mango smoothie too. They are always helpful and kind and I don't feel like they are rushing to make my drink & put thought into it. They make it exactly the same every time. It's nice and quiet in there too.

We were seated quickly outside. It was such a nice evening out and not cold. There were heat lamps too if needed. Our server was Toni. She was amazing and took care of us! She was super sweet and friendly! Excellent service. We ordered the streak frites, fish of the day which was a salmon and risotto, Paloma and lemon meringue. Steak frites was cooked perfectly! It was a hanger steak so it was soft and tender. Fries were crispy and it came with an arugula side salad. Dressing was lemony. Toni was so nice and even found us something similar to chimichurri sauce. The fish of the day was a salmon with risotto. It was cooked medium. Not over cooked and nice and flakey. Risotto was really good and lemony. The lemon meringue was probably one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. It came with a raspberry compote. The meringue was sooo soft and whipped and came with a delicious graham cracker crust. We even asked if they sold the pie as a whole but unfortunately they don't. Loved this spot! Will def be back. It looks like our new local dinner and dessert spot!

When my friend and I shared a plate, he made his disapproval known. I'm happy to pay a split fee. Just don't make me feel judged for it -- especially when the table ordered plenty of wine/cocktails, entrees, desserts, sides, and bottled water. Speaking of which: I asked for still, bottled water. He brought tap. When I followed up, he arrived with a single small Aqua Panna -- tap glasses still on the table. When I pointed out one bottle wasn't enough for our party, he dropped two more without pouring any of them. We now had twelve glasses of water crowding the table and not one filled -- except for the tap. That pattern held all night. Empty wine glasses, cocktail glasses, dirty plates -- nothing was ever proactively cleared. Everything required asking. Repeatedly. He also cleared across guests rather than walking around the table. Basic. But the most serious issue: at the start of dinner, he asked about allergies. One guest clearly stated a walnut and pecan allergy. He then brought out a dessert containing pecans. That's not an oversight. That's a liability. We tipped generously anyway... But it wasn't earned tonight. Esin has always been a place I look forward to when I'm back in town. Tonight was a real disappointment.
