My wife ordered a chicken Caesar salad that was very large and fresh. I got the lobster roll, which was on about half a long roll but was filled with lobster. The fries were a solid addition. A casual pub with lots of seating and TVs to watch sports games if you're interested. My group ordered buffalo wings and the cheesesteak egg rolls for appetizers. The wings were pretty boney and the egg rolls had a lot of breading on them, so they were just ok. Very popular place to eat when going to Washington Street Mall in Cape May. It was getting a bit muggy no pun intended so we ate inside. They have specials menu and regular menu. We started out with wings and they were a good amount, good size and tasted very good. For my entree I went with the beer battered shrimp and my husband chose the special cheesesteak egg rolls. I grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania and consider myself a "South Jersey shore girl" The Ugly Mug is a seashore staple, a "must go to" place whenever I'm in Cape May. This trip did not disappoint. It came with a side of melted butter, the best coleslaw I've ever had besides my dear departed mother's and some amazing french fries! It's not hot chunks of lobster, it's borderline lobster salad but not really. Don't get hung up on semantics just go and get it - it's so so GOOD! I sat at the bar both times and the servers are friendly/attentive/EXCELLENT! It doesn't matter if they recognize you as being local or they've never seen you before, they treat you like a regular or, at a minimum, valued customer.
