Fish and chips
Chef Pedro R.

The food was ok but you can tell the fish was frozen and not fresh and for the price we paid i was better off going to burger king. I felt ripped off it didnt taste bad I just felt i was eating frozen fish and the food tasted like something that came out of a box. My wifes food looked like it was uniformed and like premade. I never experienced anything like this but no way in hell did i think this food was worth what i paid Im not a dam fool. Im not saying it tasted bad but it really didnt taste fresh. Might as Well serve tv dinner You cant fool a 30 year experienced chef

Our service was great and fast for a shore tourist area. The place is a cute pub. The food was ok big portions of fish but very flat and kinda breaded like a pounded chicken cutlet. The shrimp didn't taste anything like Guinness just tasted like fried shrimp. The food is typical tourist bar food nothing bad. Our server from Russia was the kindest man!

When you are wondering around Cape May in need of a food Delaney's totally hits the spot! The neighborhood pub that has the large dark wood booths, the yummy assortment of food & excellent service. A perfect spot for a great meal!

Came here for lunch! The place was packed but we still got seated right away. Our server was friendly and efficient. We just ordered Soups and appetizers cause we had a 7 pm dinner reservation! The food came out in a timely fashion and was delicious! I'd highly recommend Delaney's for food!

A cold beer after a long hot walk. Great friendly service in a nice old fashioned pub. Bartender Kevin was excellent. A very nice guy with a great smile. The crab sandwich I had was excellent, nothing but large lumps of crab and delicious. It even was served with a bag of Wise potato chips which I haven't seen in years. Unfortunately the conch fritters weren't as good as they were mostly dough, but at least they were tasty! Even then I still give them 5 stars based on the service and the ambiance.

I ordered some conch fritters a little too much breadcrumbs-my husband crabcake was delicious-my sister onions rings delicious-wings ok needed a little more seasoning-Kevin our bartender was amazing-ambiance nice good music-

First time eating lobster on the east coast and man oh man it was worth every bite! Buttery, toasty, fresh, you're not gonna be disappointed anytime soon here. The vibes are comfy, and it has classic Irish pub feels. The service is so so friendly and welcoming I felt at home even though it's my first time in Jersey. Fomo is real if you haven't hit up this spot yet ok?

Huge bar menu in the middle of the "mall" of Cape May. We were a large party but they were able to accommodate us quickly which was excellent. A good variety of beers, wines, and cocktails. Very reasonable kids menu as the Mac n Cheese was under $6 and came with a juice. Food is good. I tried the steamers ($14.99) which was a nice portion and pretty good. We tried the crab cake sandwich ($23.99) and the lobster roll ($24.99) - both came with a bag of chips. Both decent, just nothing too special.

This is a classic old-school Irish pub that is located on Washington Street in Cape May. There is a lot of seating and the bar is very large and circular so it is easy to get a spot. The bartenders are very friendly. We come here and normally just sit at the bar and order a drink and get some appetizers. Their menu is very large that there is always something for everyone.

Stopped for a quick drink at the bar. The staff was very friendly in the dining area and the bar. We grabbed the last two seats. I was surprised at their afternoon crowd. IPA, Prosecco and crunchy onion rings. 4 drinks only Outdoor seating Popular tourist spot

Ask the Community - Delaney's Irish Pub & Grill

Take reservations?? We are coming down Dec 5, 8 of us?

I don't think they take reservations. I didn't see it on their website either but call and ask! Enjoy your time in Cape May.

Are there any vegan options at Delaney's?

They have an "impossible" burger that is meatless, gluten free, and plant protein based.

The waitress, Allison, helped me, she gave me the book to look for my Angie and uncle Paul's mugs & I found them, they're not far from each other!! It was a bittersweet moment, I never expected the tears to come down with joy of fun memories & sad we lost my Uncle & my aunt is not in the best of health Allison our waitress was not only quick to serve us, pleasant, personable, and helped us choose what to eat from the amazing menu. Yelp Mad Batter…read morereally impressed me. There we were, in Cape May on Thanksgiving Saturday looking for parking nearby. After finally finding a space, we walked up to Mad Batter, where there were already a number of people standing outside. We were a party of seven, so this wasn't looking good for us. Well, we had a Thanksgiving miracle. They had a table ready for us in less that ten minutes! The food and service here were both very good. I had the crab cake sandwich. It was very mild in flavor but still good. I recommend it, but I'll try some of their other offerings before I get it again. My sister-in-law had one of the specials, the Fried Tomato & Cracked Black Pepper Bacon Sandwich. She and my brother agreed that it was messy but delicious. The lobster mayo set it off nicely. Our server was really friendly and accommodating. She made sure we were taken well care of. We pointed out an error in the check, and she was very kind in taking care of it, and gave no attitude. If you can find parking, this place is worth coming to!

The worse possible service ever! TO THE OWNER: Please…read moreremind all waitstaff to ask customers about any allergies before serving food, to ensure their safety and prevent any potential harm. I ordered the harvest salad with candied walnuts. I have no idea what candied walnuts are, so I wish the waiter asked if I had any allergies because they can SOMETIMES contain cinnamon in it and I am allergic to cinnamon. When the salad came out I started to eat the salad and noticed my throat starting to feel funny. I didn't mix the salad well so I just ate the arugula with the sauce and the chicken. Half way through I noticed there were walnuts and I took a bite of it and my throat immediately started to swell and I can feel my face and tongue getting itchy. Thank god I have my allergy medications on me, but what if the next person this happens to doesn't... We immediately told the server about my cinnamon allergy and the waiter looked at me like I was joking because I ate half of it and then asked me "So you're done with that?" and I said, "Yes I can't eat it anymore, I'm allergic to it and it's contaminated with everything else. I felt my throat starting to close up, but I am okay because I have my allergy medicine. " He asked if I wanted anything else and I said no just a hot tea to help with inflammation. I appreciate that the server was trying to help us out, but he still came back with the bill and said the owner is still going to charge me because it says candied walnuts on the menu, implying that it's my fault...I really expected this place to have better service, but looking at past reviews I can see how this place has overpriced underrated food and terrible service. They don't care about their customers and certainly just focused on making money. Hopefully after today they include that their candied walnuts have cinnamon in it! Or at the very least ask the customers if they have any allergies beforehand

While there are…read moreseveral places in Cape May to get a Lobster Roll, we chose Cape May Fish Market because it had lots of seating indoors & out. It was quite chilly while we visited Cape May so we really wanted to sit inside. First, the positive: The place is clean and the staff is nice. The Lobster Roll is delicious and the Shrimp Cesar Salad tasted good, but this is also where it goes bad. It is a huge salad and only had 3 shrimp. The cost of the salad is the same as the Lobster Roll. There is no way a salad should cost 26.99 and only have 3 shrimp. A pound of shrimp market value is approximately $25.99 depending on size & location. When it was expressed to our server, she quoted market price increases and that we could order more shrimp at an upcharge. If market price for shrimp is that bad, take it off the menu or offer alternatives like adding chicken that won't result in an upcharge or advise your customers upon ordering that they'd only get 3 shrimp. Hubs probably would have ordered something else. It's Cape May Fish Market so they should be upfront about their seafood. I didn't really care for the fact that we asked about it and were brushed off. While we'll definitely return to Cape May, we may not return here. .

I recently dined at the Ebbitt Room, and I have never had such a conflicting experience. While the…read morekitchen and bar are clearly talented, the service and management decisions completely ruined the evening. The Positives: I have to give credit where it is due as the food and drinks were genuinely great. We ordered the calamari, celery root soup, scallops, and the chicken breast. Everything came out delicious and perfectly prepared. The drinks were also a highlight specifically the pomegranate margarita and the winter sangria. The bartender clearly knows what they are doing. The Service: Absent and Unprofessional. Unfortunately, the night took a sharp turn regarding the service. Our waitress was virtually non existent. She spent the entire night chatting with another couple, barely sparing a moment for our table outside of taking the initial order. It got to the point where the bartender had to do the waitresses job. Our drinks were sitting on the bar for quite a while until the bartender finally walked them over to us, saying, "I just wanted to drop these off so they wouldn't sit out." Later, we watched the bartender go into the back and run food to the other couple, the very table our waitress was busy socializing with, telling them he, "just wanted to bring this out so it would still be hot." The bartender was acting more like a waiter than our actual server was. Sketchy Billing & Atmosphere: Things got even stranger when the check arrived. We noticed a $24 charge for a "cheeseburger"--an item that isn't even on the menu. We flagged down the waitress, and before we could even explain the issue, she immediately said, "Oh yes, you are right, there is an error, sorry about that." It was an incredibly odd reaction; she knew there was an error before we even vocalized what was wrong. To top it off, the dining room was absolutely freezing. When we asked why, the waitress claimed the heat was broken. However, upon visiting the restroom, the heat was pumping just fine. It felt deliberate--like a corner cutting measure to save money during the off-season rather than a genuine mechanical failure. Overall: Despite the food being delicious, the terrible service, the suspicious billing "error," and the uncomfortable temperature make this a place I cannot recommend. For the price point, you expect a certain level of professionalism and comfort, and Ebbitt Room failed on both counts. I will not be returning.
