Late review in my drafts. Everything was amazing I came for diners I can't remember everything I ordered but I definitely want to come back let's start off with service. Kennedy our server was informative, funny and attentive 100/10. Also I was celebrating my birthday and they had a card I wasn't expecting it but it definitely made the experience much better honestly The ambiance is perfect for a date night. Great dishes and cocktails all around. I highly recommend it. I'll definitely be back I've heard they have a happy hour

Having absolutely adored Uchi after my first time dining at their Houston location, I had incredibly high expectations for this Los Angeles outpost in West Hollywood--and it completely lives up to the hype. It has quickly become my absolute favorite spot for an after-work happy hour at the bar. The food is entirely exceptional across the board. I've had the opportunity to order the pristine salmon hand roll, the perfectly crispy rock shrimp, the delectable gyutoro gunkan, and the inventive taiyaki served with cultured butter and sea salt, and every single bite was a knockout. Beyond the stellar sushi and hot tastings, the cocktail program is absolutely no slouch. The bar area has an amazing energy, and they have phenomenal, expert bartenders who know exactly how to guide you into the type of night you want to have, whether you are unwinding after a long day or kicking off a great evening out. Between the flawless execution of the food, the sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere, and the top-tier hospitality, Uchi LA easily matches the magic of its sister locations and remains an absolute must-visit.

The food and the ambiance were really good. Definitely worth the splurge! Our server, Uche was very attentive (as was the rest of the staff) and he helped choose our food for us (somakase). The desserts were good too. I can't wait to come back and try the happy hour and more menu items.

Uchi is an easy choice for a great happy hour and even better service. My friends and I went back last night and received stellar service from Bill. We've had him as our server before and he is just the best. He's friendly, gives genuine recommendations and made our dinner so enjoyable. We can't wait to come back again soon!

It was an amazing experience for my partner and I. We were celebrating his birthday and it so happened to be DineLa week so we decided to do that set menu. I highly recommend sitting at the sushi bar if you are ordering sushi so you can talk to the sushi chef about what you like/dislike or any other dietary restrictions. The sushi chef was super friendly and nice and we had great service throughout our meal. The sushi chef made our night extra special with throwing in a free time for the birthday boy. We loved everything we got from the dinela, it was a great deal. I definitely will come back again and sit at the sushi bar.

Perhaps I had too high expectations for this place, but I thought it wasn't over the top amazing, but simply good. The creativity of the dishes didn't match the aesthetics of the dishes. Here's what I had: Oysters Hama chili Temaki Crispy pork belly Wagyu tartare bite Chef's choice sushi Citrusy Crudo Chocolate cake dessert I really wanted to like this place but everything tasted average and none of the dishes really quite stood out to me. The service was amazing but perhaps I should try other things on the menu before I really make up my mind.

The West Hollywood location of Uchi matches the very calm and elegant vibe of its sister location in Austin. We had booked an early seating since we were going to a concert down the street, which meant we were able to partake in the happy hour tasting menu. The staff were super friendly and very amenable with my allergy making sure to double check with the kitchen and bar. I love their happy hour, highlights include the old fashion, brussel sprouts, scallop nigiri, beef bowl, banana bread dessert. Can't wait to go back.

Uchi!! I'm slightly disappointed because I really wanted to love this sushi spot. Let's start from the beginning, we made a same day reservation for a Saturday evening and were seated within minutes, which was great. The interior décor is intentional, modern, and unique. The outdoor area looked cute with overhead heaters, though I'm not sure how effective they actually are. We sat inside near the door, which ended up being extremely cold, and Jeremy was our server, very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Unfortunately, the pacing of the meal really missed the mark. Food came out extremely slow, about 15 minutes between each roll. It may have been an off night, as the table next to us also experienced a delay with their drinks and ended up being offered upgraded liquor. We ordered the Greek black bream nigiri, hamachi yellowtail, cucumber salad, scallop, bluefin tuna, and cod. The cucumber salad was the first dish we tried and it was incredible, so flavorful that we were instantly on cloud nine and felt optimistic about the rest of the meal. The sushi itself was fresh, but the long wait times took away from the experience. About 35 minutes after ordering, we were told the cod was no longer available, which should have been communicated much sooner. While we were deciding on a replacement, another server, who hadn't been by all night came over and accidentally poured regular water into my girlfriend's sparkling water and nearly knocked over my wine glass. It felt awkward and careless, especially since the sparkling water was on her side of the table, while I was the one drinking still water. Jeremy did try to make it right by sending over an extra roll, which we appreciated, but unfortunately it ended up being our least favorite of the night. So we didn't eat it, and felt bad for wasting food. The only reason I didn't give three stars is because there was an attempt to save the experience, even though it ultimately fell short. We ended up heading to another sushi spot afterward to satisfy our cravings. Small details matter. Untimely pacing, missteps, and lack of communication can really impact an otherwise promising dining experience. Definitely room for improvement.

I've been a fan of Uchi since my first visit in austin nearly two decades ago. The LA location delivers all that the brand represents. I love the ambiance. It is the perfect spot for date night or for any occasion. I was blown away by the service. Empty dishes removed immediately, water always available, multiple servers and runners. Absolute perfection. Sushi chef Ray was amazing. Everyone was receptive to my likes and items that weren't my favorite and adjusted accordingly. I ordered omakase tasting menu and while I prefer an all sushi omakase experience, I tried the variety option that offered a wealth of hot and cold options. It included an oyster, sushi, tempura, sashimi, pork belly, grilled salmon, and hand rolls. More than enough food and provides a good foundation of the menu. My favorites were the sushi options because they were unique with a hint of citrus. Tempura has never been more delectable. While I wasn't a huge fan of some options, the service and ambiance really won me over. I would certainly revisit and try the all sushi omakase. Bonus, all the dishes were beautiful.

UUUUUUUH, I love me some Uchi. I can't believe it took me so long to venture out this way, but I am so glad that I did. This is a "tapas" style, Asian fusion place that blends Korean, Chinese, Thai and Japanese ingredients and flavors in unconventional fashion. We had a gluten allergy and an avocado allergy at our table, and they were so accommodating and reassuring about it. I do appreciate a place that tries and cares. The interior is so appealing and aesthetically pleasing. I sat at a booth near the sushi bar and observed the pretty decor, sleek designs and pleasant ambiance. The restroom is cute and I recommend the mirror for selfies... ;) I would strongly recommend most of what we had: - Hot Rock for a cute alternative way to enjoy tender beef strips - Zero Sen for a light and unexpected bite - we had to get a second order, it was that good! - Grilled Edamame because when have you had them grilled? - Sake Crudo for salmon lovers - Hama Chili for a new take on a fun favorite - Bluefin Toro Maki for a classic toro cut roll that doesn't disappoint - Pork Belly for a small but mighty punch of flavor - Gyumaki if you don't mind a beef roll with a bit more fatty, chewy beef than you might expect Honestly, the only thing I wasn't into, at all, was the Coconut Tapioca. Imagine coconut foam around a scoop of lychee(?) sorbet and whole, bland hazelnuts down below. I didn't understand it. Hard pass. Valet is $20. I didn't give street parking a chance because I was in a rush, but there are places to park around the area. Expect pricey, quality dishes! This is a great place for birthdays, date nights, and other fun evenings.

Lively atmosphere with great Japanese food! Our server Quon was extremely kind and made our experience great. Attentive to detail! Parking can be awful but there's valet out front (Luckily we did street parking for free). Everything we ordered was phenomenal - appetizers to sushi it was all great and was perfect on timing. Sushi definitely has a twist to it and I loved the different flavors. This isn't cheap sushi, so everything tasted extremely fresh and well prepped. Total bill was about $400 for two so come prepared to spend (forget to take pictures of few more items) I highly recommend it and we're for sure to return.

Uchi WeHo has an incredible blend of high quality food, ambiance and great vibes! The sashimi and nigiri were incredibly fresh, and the additional touches on every dish were really enjoyable. The citrus with sashimi will keep me coming back, a must try in WeHo!

I came here for happy hour and had the most wonderful experience! My friend and I sat at the bar. We decided not to do the prix fixe but just to get a la carte items from the happy hour menu and we were stuffed! My absolute favorite thing was the Tayaki -- scallion pancakes in the shape of little fish. They were so flavorful and delicious, not to mention adorable! The bartender took excellent care of us and made wonderful recommendations. I couldn't have been happier.

What time/day is happy hour?

5:00 to 6:00. Drink up.

Are there options for guests who don't like or want sushi?

Yes. You can duck the fish if you want. But, it is, in fact, a Sushi place, so why bother? Go to Matu and Wagyu Beef till you pass out.

Is happy hour in the whole restaurant or bar only?

Whole restaurant

Is there a dress code? Or can I wear a nice shirt, jeans and sneakers

No dress code. People were dressed nice, but it's LA so sneakers will always fly

Does it cost money to make a reservation? When is the latest i can cancel without penalty? Thanks

No cost to make the reservation but I believe they ask for a credit card to hold the reservation. I think the penalty is 24 hours or less with $25/person charge

Approx how much is the omakase tastings?

All 3 Omakase is listed as "Mrkt" on the menu. This means they likely charge you the menu price of whatever they serve in it and that it must change nightly. On my evening I ordered the Chefs tasting menu and was charged per item instead of an… Read more

We were…read morelooking for a fun Koreatown spot for large groups, family-style Korean food, drinks, and a place where everyone could actually relax and enjoy themselves without feeling rushed. Found Anju while searching for best group dinner spots in Koreatown Los Angeles and now I completely understand the hype. First off, making the reservation was incredibly easy. Being able to book a large party online without having to jump through hoops was a huge plus. When we arrived, we got seated almost immediately, which for a large group in KTown on a busy night felt impressive. Parking initially confused us a bit because of the plaza setup, but they offer valet and it ended up being super convenient and worth it. The vibe here is awesome. It's technically an outdoor restaurant, but it still feels intimate and lively. Perfect energy for groups, celebrations, birthdays, catching up with friends, or just hanging out over Korean BBQ and soju. Kyle was our server and genuinely made the night. Super attentive, very accommodating with our large party and baby, constantly checking in, pacing the meal well, and just brought great energy to the table all night. Service like that really changes the whole experience. Food-wise, the marinated beef was phenomenal. Easily one of the standout dishes of the night. So flavorful, tender, and the kind of dish everyone keeps reaching back for. We also ordered an octopus and pork dish that completely blew me away. Probably one of my favorite bites I've had in LA in a while. The asado-style platter wasn't my personal favorite compared to the marinated meats, but it still came with a generous amount and was great for sharing with a large table. We ordered a ton of food, beers, soju, shared plates, and left absolutely stuffed. Considering the amount of food, drinks, and the size of our party, we all felt like the value was really solid. Dessert is definitely more simple and traditional, so don't come expecting some massive dessert menu, but honestly the focus here is the food, drinks, atmosphere, and group dining experience. Overall, this is one of the best large group restaurants in Koreatown if you want great Korean food, strong service, fun social atmosphere, and a place that actually handles big parties well. Will absolutely be back.

I ended up parking a few blocks away. Once inside, the only way to order was through a kiosk -- so much for asking questions. I also realized that you're actually ordering from two different restaurants on the same system. I entered my order for the grilled cheese sandwich, but when I backed out to the main menu to add the wings, the order was canceled and I had to start over. When I tried to order the wings again, the kiosk kept giving me an error and wouldn't process it and at the end of the transactions, I was asked, how much do I want to tip? There are only a handful of seats inside and a bench out front. The tables were filthy. I had the bulgogi grilled cheese sandwich and my partner ordered the Korean BBQ chicken wings. We both agreed the food was good, but it felt pricey for what we got. Driving home, my thought was simple: good food, but not an experience that makes me want to come back.

The music they were playing was too loud to enjoy a meal there, so I got it to-go. You can order online, at the kiosk tablet or talk with a staff member to place your order. Right off the bat, I noticed that they do not list the price of the menu items on the menu. I ordered 2 tacos (Galbi and the Bulgogi) and OMGEE, my eyes were shocked to see the bill of $37.13. Anyway, since it's my 1st time here, I thought, "ok, let's just try it and see if the quality and/or portion justifies the price. 1. Galbi Tacos (3.5/5): Galbi is basically marinated short ribs that's diced up. The flavor of the meat itself was good - tender, flavorful and slightly charred. It is topped heavily with a bed of Cole slaw, onion, cilantro and some creamy, tangy mayo-like sauce. I think the amount of toppings outweigh the meat portions, so it's not well-balanced at all. 2. Bulgogi Tacos (3.5/5) Rating the bulgogi meat itself, I would give it a 4 out of 5 stars, as the thinly sliced rib eye was marinated well in the bulgogi seasoning, which is umami-rich, garlicky and nutty from the sesame oil & sesame seeds. Like the other taco, the ratio of meat to toppings (slaw, onion, cilantro) is off. Of note, the corn tortilla for the tacos were very dry and easily tore apart, so it made eating the tacos super messy and quite a pain since they do not give you any utensils. I ended up ditching the taco shells and just eating the insides. Lastly, the limes they gave me with my tacos were completely dried, rendering them useless to dress my tacos (smirk). Even though each taco order comes with 2 tacos, $18/order for street-taco truck quality tacos and where the amount of Cole slaw outweighs the amount of meat ... this is just a bit too much. Sorry to say, but I will not be coming back. There's too many other restaurants in the area competing for my business.
