My family and I stopped here after our visit at the Academy Museum and we were so happy we did. Not only are the staff absolutely friendly and professional, but the ambience inside was so fun with a beautiful mural on one of the walls and a old school VHS TV playing 16 candles as well. The food was absolutely delicious and we can't wait to come back and visit again.
We've eaten here many times when they first opened. We were going to LACMA and stopped here first. Unfortunately they were a little busy so service was bad. Took a while to take our order and we asked for water . Got up to get it for ourselves then server saw my husband and said she would get it but didn't do got our own. Ordered the bun with pork and an egg roll. Egg roll wrapper was not fried well and was tough and chewy. Every thing else was good. Hubby has fresh spring rolls which were average. Food isn't as good as it once was and don't think we'll return. The male server did ask if we needed anything but failed to refill our water. Mediocre service. Too bad I used to like this plan.
This place is like a hole in the wall with a 90's vibe with cassette tape boxes as receipt holders. I had ordered the phofax special Which had many types of beef, including handmade meatballs. They were all tender and fresh. The bone broth was delicious! Thai tea was also tasty as it was brewed for 8 hours. There is metered street parking outside. The service was excellent. I have to say this was the best pho ever.
The hubs and I decided to make it out to LA for a game and LACMA. Since I was craving pho, we found this place in walking distance from LACMA. It was a little before noon and there was only one party in the whole restaurant. We got seated right away and it was by the front window for everyone to see. The menu had a lot of options and priced like all other places or I'm just getting used to the prices these days. They did have a lunch special for $20 and you can get a small pho, and then some other choices and then a drink. I couldn't tell you what the other choices were because I didn't order it. The waitress was efficient and got the job done. She did get a little overwhelmed since after 1230pm, everyone decided to grab lunch. Here's what we ordered: lunch special with small bowl of beef pho, a beef banh mi and unsweetened black tea. The hubs said that his pho was decent, the flavor was simple and didn't have that deep rich flavoring like other pho bowls he has had. The banh mi had great bread and the filling was pretty flavorful. The black tea was good. I had the build your own pho because I have to have vegetable broth but I added in chicken meatballs and shrimp. The broth was pretty tasteless so I had to add in some hoisin sauce, and sriracha. There were other condiments but I was too lazy to grab it from the other table. That helped out with the soup. The chicken meatballs were questionable as in I wasn't sure if it was chicken. There were plenty of shrimp and they added pieces of chicken. The noodles had a nice chew to them. Overall the pho was okay but it didn't hit the pho craving/spot. We also ordered pork egg rolls and they were interesting. They weren't crunchy at all. It was a bit oily and at one point, I wasn't sure if a part of it was cooked. There was more other filling than meat. The nuoc mam tasted like watered down fish sauce. I guess I was so hungry that I didn't mind it. Overall, the food was just okay. Nothing exciting to report and unfortunately I wouldn't go back.
Gave this spot another try. Happy Hour is pretty decent. Ordered a barn mi with extra beef, their Happy Hour ribs and a couple beers. Can't beat a $2 HH beer. Service was great. Staff were friendly.
Great experience eating here! Came for dinner on a Tuesday night at 5pm and we were seated right away. There were a few dining when I arrived but it quickly got filled up a few minutes later. Ordered some flossy fries to take advantage of their happy hour. Those were gone within 5 mins. I had the Phofax Special. The broth was delicious. Well seasoned and they were not shy with the protein! Great spot overall and definitely recommend if you are craving some pho.
As a Vietnamese person, I was genuinely shocked by how much I disliked this place. This was the first Vietnamese restaurant I tried after moving to LA, and seeing "pho" in the name came with certain expectations, especially after reading all the great Google reviews. Unfortunately, it was a big letdown. The broth was extremely bland, and the meatballs tasted cheap and off. It quickly became clear that this place isn't meant for someone who's used to authentic Vietnamese food or grew up eating and making it. I've never had pho like this before, and not in a good way. I even tried to fix it by adding fish sauce, but they brought out the sauce meant for spring rolls instead, which didn't help. Even after adding a lot of sriracha and hoisin, the broth still tasted like nothing. The meatballs were the biggest issue for me. They honestly tasted artificial, almost plastic-like, and felt like the lowest-quality version possible. I also ordered chicken wings with fish sauce, and they were unbearably salty. I had to send them back because it was too much to eat without extra rice or something to balance it out. I won't be coming back. I'd rather drive all the way to Orange County for Vietnamese food than eat here again. That said, the service was nice, and the food came out quickly. If you're new to Vietnamese food, you might find this place okay, but if you're looking for authentic, well-balanced pho, this is not it.
Had dinner with a few friends on a Friday night. This was my first time here. We were graciously greeted upon entering and the staff quickly put together tables for twelve. A friend and I each ordered the Garlic Noodles with Filet Mignon. We both enjoyed our meal that had the right amount of garlic. The noodles and veggies were good, but the filet, which was cut up in multiple pieces, was a bit chewy. For the added price it was acceptable. Overall, the dish was good and we would order it again. A friend next to us just had the Fresh Spring Rolls with Pork appetizer. He loved it. The spring rolls were large and arrived at the table sizzling hot. He enjoyed the rolls by wrapping them in a lettuce leaf. Another friend had the Pho Tai Filet Mignon Noodle Soup. A large bowl arrived piping hot with a lot of noodles and good amount of filet. He said the soup was excellent. Other friends near me had the Basil Stir Fry with Tofu, and a Street Fried Rice with Shrimp. They both liked their meals, however, the shrimp in the fried rice were small. Overall everyone enjoyed their meals, and I heard no major complaints. There is a limited choice of beer, wine, cocktails, and sake. Several options of non-alcoholic beverages are offered. The service was very friendly and excellent. Big shout out to our waitress, McKenna. She was great and took good care of us without being annoying. The whole staff was friendly. And McKenna was able to process separate checks for us which was much appreciated. Beware: They don't accept cash so you have to use Debit or a Credit Card. They have a 3% service fee for using any card. Shady AF! There are a few tables in their dining room and a couple of outdoor tables on the sidewalk. Street parking is usually available. Beware that the neighborhood near the restaurant is a Permit Parking District. Read the signs before parking.
This was very good !!! And they have fantastic lunch specials for a fair price ! For around $20 you can go half Banh-mi sandwich and half pho (with high-grade filet Mignon. The bahn-mi sandwich had a refreshing taste from the citrus aspect, and à crunchiness to the bread . Even with a half-portion it was still satisfying. The pho was excellent , and the broth had a lovely and pleasing salty flavor: that's important ! The filet mignon beef was tender and juicy. Even half bowl , you theoretically should be leaving full.
Good food, good service, laid back vibes. Stopped in for happy hour. Enjoyed the hip hop music and VHS playing/check in a casette case (nice touch).
All I can say is me and my girlfriend were coming from oc for LACMA and the pho was very disappointing. Service was ok but me and her were just so turn off of how the pho tasted very water down flavorless Broth pho.
My husband and I have been hooked on this place ever since we were craving pho one night and ordered takeout from here. Now we always end up ordering the same favorites every time, the chicken spring rolls, banh mi tacos, and the filet mignon pho. Everything we've tried has been so good. The service is always quick and on point, and we love the casual atmosphere with music playing in the background. Definitely one of our go-to spots whenever we're craving pho.
Okay these garlic noodles might be the best I've ever had in LA. The filet was cooked to perfection, and there was just so much garlic in the noodles I was in heaven! Our server was super sweet and talked me into this green tea that basically had a sea salt foam on top - also great! This place had a very 90s vibe as they have a little tv where they played VHS movies! The Lion King was on while we were there. I also loved that the check came out in a little cassette case. I want to check out the happy hour next time it sounded great!
STEPH JUDGEMENT: Cute atmosphere, with great lunch specials. The hubby and I were looking for a good lunch spot in the area and Vietnamese sounded really good. The space was very cute, with great light from the windows and fun personal photos and memorabilia. We were pleasantly surprised by their $20 lunch specials and decided to take advantage. You get three items, one from each category: starters, half size pho, and beverage. I got the spring rolls, veg pho and iced coffee; the hubby got the half veg banh mi, veg pho, and a coke. The food was good and the portions were more than enough. We actually ended up taking some of the starters home. A very good value and friendly service. Lastly, gotta give it up for their shirt with the OutKast reference. Peace out. read more

A couple of years taking care of myself and I'm finally able to have foods with higher purine numbers. It was pay day so I visited an old regular spot across the street from work. I used to regularly pick up the Iced Thai Coffee during my breaks at work and the street style fried rice when I left work late but today I wanted to go slow with some Beef Meatball Pho. I haven't sat down here in a while so the menu's seen some changes. A few of the drinks I used to get don't appear anymore but the popular Iced Thai Coffee and Thai Tea were still there. Though coming in, the guy behind the counter asked me not to sit on my regular spot, almost got my order wrong and asked how the food was before I started eating. It really harshed my vibe of the place. The bowls of pho now use red onions instead of white. They taste a bit more biting than before with a lingering aftertaste. Staff say the changes were made a few months ago and it definitely gave the soup more impact. Though the Strawberry Limeade wasn't a very good pairing. The meatballs are cut and portioned differently as well. Though not too different as to how they were before, the ingredient looks ready to be had in other dishes like a Bahn Mi. Overall different to how I used to have it. I'd had considered a dessert but the same wait staff presented me with my bill before I could consider. Overall an odd dining experience where I felt rushed and a little unwelcome. Though it's always good to see familiar faces among the staff. read more

I just got the banh mi tacos, which are soft tacos with a choice of beef, chicken, pork, or tofu, and filled with the seasoning and pickled red onions and cilantro you'd find in a banh mi. This fusion paired well and compliments well with hoisin sauce. The restaurant also has several pho and rice options. read more
This place is walking distance from LACMA, the place seemed quite busy for a Tuesday. We dined in and immediately loved the. VCR movies playing! The staff were nice and gave us speedy service, the food was delightful! Will definitely make a stop here again, maybe aim for their happy hour! read more
Good service here, the staff is welcoming, helpful and courteous. The ambiance is very cozy and clean. The food is alright, I wasn't a fan of the beef since it seemed to taste more like sweetened, reconstituted beef jerky, but the vegetables were fresh and the fish sauce was good. I was excited to find this place but we were a bit disappointed (we were craving it for a while!), but the meat gave us both a bellyache (and the dish didn't come with any mint after being told it did). If dining here I'd stick with ordering a vegetable dish other than meat. Regardless great service! read more

So, this old man (me) was touring LA in a Waymo (thrill riding) and found this place as a source for Vietnamese Coffee. So I "added stop" to make the robotaxi divert, then proceeded to order and pay for my drink online. Got dropped by the Waymo, picked up the drink, but found it oddly "not creamy" and "not sweet" so I went back inside. Yikes, I had inadvertently ordered just an "iced coffee" My man made it right, no additional charge, which touched my heart. He earned an additional tip. See, places like this, they are about caring and compassion. PLUS they show VHS movies in the small dining room! I be back... for food next time! read more
This place was so good! I LOVED the spring rolls the grilled pork in it was so flavorful and I got it with the fish sauce and it was delicious. The pho was also bomb. I love the amount of meat and noodle in it I love the chunky pieces of tendon in there it's my favorite. I do wish the broth had a bit more flavor to it but still very good! The service was great and the seating was nice I love the little corner nook I was in it felt cozy. Will for sure come back. read more

Great place! Super friendly staff very quick service. But, pretty white washed... The food was ok. Me and my friend both got the filet mignon pho, it was very tender. It was nice that we got the spoonful of bone marrow in the soup, it made the Roth a lot richer and was included since we dined in. But, the broth wasn't anything special. We also made it in time for the happy hour and got the flossy fries. It wasn't anything special and lacked bold flavors. l liked how the whole restaurant was decorated. It was very colorful and they have an old TV and VCR playing old movies. We got to watch Toy story 2. But the restaurant seemed a bit cramped. They also have a lot of merch including various shirts and bags for sale. Overall, the experience was ok. The service was nice, but I wouldn't call it authentic. Another issue is you have to find street parking, so keep that in mind if you are meeting people there. read more

Avoid this Pho place at ALL COSTS. This place is discussing and awful. I don't even know where to start first. We understand that Sundays can be busy, and there were only two servers working. However, the service we received was unacceptable. The male server was extremely impatient and came across as rude, making us feel unwelcome from the moment we arrived. The restaurant seemed to have no organized system for serving guests. Several tables that arrived at least 15 minutes after us received their food, finished eating, and left before our meals were even served. I ordered the special pho, but the experience was very disappointing. The broth was not hot enough, and even after finishing the noodles, the raw pork slices were still undercooked because the soup never reached a sufficient temperature. It was quite off-putting. The beef brisket was also extremely tough and difficult to chew. To make matters worse, the restroom floor was sticky and felt as though it had not been properly cleaned for some time. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in a long time. Poor service, disorganized operations, subpar food quality, and cleanliness issues made this a place I will not be returning to. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant. read more

Food was delicious. Vibe 80s and 90s, an old VCR playing kids movies to entertain the three families, the bill came in a cassette tape. Not newly renovated but certainly clean and cared for. Funny T-Shirts and bags, music great. Servers very kind and patient. I went early. How is place not packed all day long? They are running a wicked busy take out service. I'll be back. read more

The pho was bland and lacked seasoning. The bean sprouts were brown, which was already disappointing, but the most concerning part was the chili oil. It looked brown and clumpy, while the chili oil at other tables looked much more vibrant. I'm not sure if ours was old or left sitting out too long, but it definitely didn't look appetizing enough to add to the pho. When ordering the beef pho, the beef came cooked on the side instead of being added into the soup, which was unexpected. The service was alright and I don't really have complaints there. But if the service is only okay and the pho itself is bland, then there's really not much to look forward to when coming to this restaurant. read more
Had a pho craving and we ended up at Pho Saigon Pearl and it didn't disappoint!! Fried Egg rolls and spring rolls were amazing! My pho was delicious and the meat was very tender. Great service and awesome 80's vibes inside. VCR with VHS tapes playing movies and your check comes inside cassette tape cases! Totally awesome! read more
Oxtail pho!! It's yummy, comforting, and the oxtail is HUGE which is so nice. The flavor can be better but it's really nice and somewhere I might come back to many times. The service is really friendly too - the hosts were kind when I was waiting for my Togo order read more

Hi! Our broth does not contain any pork, we use beef oxtail bones and chicken bones
Is there any keto options?
Yes! We’re not dietitians, but many of our customers who are on the Keto diet come in and order stuff that is Keto friendly. We don’t know what Keto is but we know our customers swap out the rice or noodles and order more meat.
Do they use msg?
It's also worth educating yourself on the affects - or lack of - caused by MSG. The original study that said it causes headaches has been scientifically proven wrong multiple times.
