After driving past this place a thousand times (yes, a thousand), I finally stopped in. And I'm glad I did. I went with my Thai go-to: yellow curry with chicken. Which was super nice. The sauce was flavorful without being sickly sweet, while the chicken, potatoes, and carrots were also of good quality. They were also small-ish pieces, not the huge ones you sometimes get, though the portions of them was actually large. So large, in fact, that I sort of regret getting something else as well. Sort of. I also got the Crispy Wontons, which were thin but still tasty, and rather filling (you get six). But as good as they were, they and the curry was too much. It also didn't help that, along with the white rice that came with my curry, I got something they call Healthy Rice, which is (according to the menu), "wild black rice, brown rice, [and] red quinoa" (I actually thought I was getting the Healthy Rice instead of the white, but whatever.) It was okay; the white rice was much better, especially when it had some yellow curry sauce on it. And no, to answer the obvious question, I didn't eat all of the rice. Just all of the white and some of the Healthy. As for the place itself, it was clean, and the staff were very friendly. The food also came out in a decent amount of time, and was nice and hot when it did. The place is small, though. There's maybe a dozen seats outside, and fewer inside, which may explain why most of the people who came in walked out with a bag a minute later. Also, the seats outside were wooden stools, which didn't bother me, but it would've been an issue for my elderly mother, and thus other people as well. Oh, and this has become a thing with me and resteraunts lately: napkins and utensils. Thankfully, this place's napkins were the big kind, and they gave me two of them, while the utensils were real and metal, not plastic. In fact, the only bad thing about the place is that it's on La Brea, and a block below Wilshire, so parking may be an issue. They do have valet at night, but I didn't check to see how much it was. But it wasn't so bad that I won't be back. I just won't order so much. read more

Moved into the neighborhood recently and was happy to find a good Thai restaurant within walking distance. Walked in on a weeknight and despite the small restaurant size we were seated right away. Service was quick and friendly! We enjoyed the Pad See Ew with chicken and the Ka Soi Ka (perfect for a rainy day). Loved the crispy bits of deep fried egg noodles that were on top of the khao soi and the whole pieces of chicken that soaked up the curry. Portions were more than enough for 2 people. We randomly stumbled upon this place, and not only was it a really cute restaurant, but all of the dishes we ordered were flavorful and tasty! The drunken noodles were pretty spicy, without being overpowering, which I really liked. The pad Thai was saucy which was unique and it worked well in my opinion. We visited here today with a friend. I had the Kao Soi Kai Curry. The curry was good. Came with noodles and a chicken thigh. Unfortunately, I didn't have a knife, so I had to take the chicken (and leftover curry home), as there wasn't an easy way to eat it. Yes, i could have asked for a knife, but I'll have chicken for dinner. My wife had the Drunken Noodles. She wasn't terribly impressed, but she finished it. Our friend had the chow mein. Everyone was wonderful and the owner was even bussing tables and making sure everyone was having a good time. We got the Tiger dog and the wontons to start with. Both incredibly tasty. We had the drunken noodle and the curry. The curry sauce was absolutely insane! Would drizzle that on literally everything. Ended the night with the sticky mango rice. The perfect end to my night. I really enjoy Met Her and Met Him at a Bar, but I've tried Her Thai a few times now, and it does not meet the same standard, even though it's from the same owners. One of the biggest issues with this spot is the portion sizes. The portions are SO small compared to every other Thai place I've ordered from in LA. A $19 chow mein dish is typically enough for two meals from anywhere else, but was only enough for one here, and was not worth the price. The chicken was good, but the dish was far too oily overall. My husband did enjoy his orange chicken, though again, the portion was small for the price. read more

Pad See Ew with ribeye was flavorful. $20 price tag was a little tough; but we always get beef with this dish, so had to take the $4 upcharge for the beef. Fried Rice with Shrimp was good. I'm sad to say... this was a very disappointing meal. I had high hopes because I love "Met him at a bar" and they have the same owners. However, this place really let me down. The chicken larb was absolutely disgusting. I ordered it "mild" but it was still too spicy. Also, it had a really nasty unsettling taste that sort of lingered on my pallet. In addition, it was too salty. It was so bad I had to throw it away after a few bites. Sigh* I'm sad my money was wasted and my hunger not fulfilled. This is what I got when I ordered(via Door Dash) Thom Ka Tofu. The photo on the menu is completely different than what I received. It is as if someone heated up a can of coconut milk and threw in about 4 cubes of tofu. There were about three mushrooms added in along with a few slices of lemongrass. Even though Thai food is not my usual go-to, I wanted to give Her Thai a try after the staff across the way at Met Her told me about it. I had such a good time there that I wanted to see what this new concept had to offer. Looking at their menu prior, there were actually a few things I wanted to try. There are two ordering screens to your right as you walk in-which lets you make some modifications-but you can always order with an actual human, which is what I did. I was trying to narrow it down between the fried rice and the yellow curry, which she told me was the mildest of what they had curry-wise, and a little bit on the sweet side. I decided to add the chicken to it as well. Self-serve water with lemon is also at the counter so I'm already happy. Seating is either a counter, a table at the front inside, or some tables and chairs outside on La Brea. There were two other parties present that chose outside so naturally I stayed at the counter. Took about 5 minutes and they bring the food to you, utensils were right in front (no knives though, at least on display). She was spot-on, this was a tiny bit sweet which I didn't mind but darn, even the mildest versions of some foods will set me back. My weak palate had to take some breaks in between, but it was good! The potatoes and carrots were especially saturated so they had the most kick. Steamed rice was excellent; not undercooked as some places do, and was great on its own even though I mixed some in. Glad I added the chicken to this. Plenty of water on hand as I attempted to finish most of my food while there. She brought over a lid for the bowl of curry, and a thoughtful touch of a small plastic bag to put it in as an additional precaution. Smart! Keep in mind this kind of food, even while packaged accordingly, will linger in your car, etc. They still have a grand opening sign up even though they've been open for about a month but the more attention, the better. Her Thai is worth a stop, whether you're a Thai food fan, or a weakling such as myself. Looking forward to returning! Dropped in on the fly and I am such a fan of the restaurant owners in this corner! Met Her at the Bar, Met Him at the Bar and now Her Thai! The place is hip and cute. I love the graphics and the colors! The person behind the counter was very helpful and friendly and though you order up at the counter, he went out of his way to grab me water, brought my dishes to my table and checked on me constantly. I ordered the wings and the Kao Soi Kai. The wings are so delicious! Hard fried to a crisp and it comes with a sweet chili sauce. The Kao Soi Kai is under the curry menu and this is the only dish that does not come with rice because it is a noodle soup dish. It is topped with fried noodles for extra texture and a whole drum stick. OMG, this is my idea of comfort food. It almost tastes like a dish that my father makes but it's good enough for me. Slight heat but not spicy. Overall, this is a great introduction meal for me and would love to try the rest of the menu. read more

Walked by here a few weeks ago when they were about to open and then made it back today once they were finally ready for business! Everything we ate was yummy but truthfully my husband and I were still both very hungry after we finished our meal The wontons were delicious-- light and crispy with a sweet and tangy sauce. Pad Thai was nice, felt like there were more bean sprouts than noodles but I also split it with my husband so maybe he was just eating all the noodles before I got to them?? I really enjoyed the smiling tiger. The nice woman at the counter called it one of their specialties. I guess I was expecting a little more tbh. I was vomiting and had awful diarrhea for 4 days after, as well as a fever, cold sweats, and dizziness. It wasn't until a week later that I could eat anything besides saltines.
