Summer Buffalo was a place I had had on my list after seeing it on social media, and I was excited to try it when I realized we were in the area. The service was decent, and the food was good, especially the orange chicken meal, despite the portion being on the smaller side. I'm also glad I had the chance to try their frog legs, as they had a unique but flavorful taste.

Cute location! The service was okay. I'm not sure if I'd go out of my way to return, but I wouldn't mind having the wonton soup again. Pad Thai ($16.95) - 3/5 Overall, it was a good portion. It was filling for one person. It had fresh vegetables, a decent amount of chicken, and good seasoning. Nothing particularly special, but still tasty. Wonton Noodle Soup ($16) - 3.5/5 Like the Pad Thai, the wonton soup was tasty but not extraordinary. That said, it came with a generous amount of wontons and was the perfect portion size for me.

Cashew Nut Chicken. Just okay. Cashews soft and mushy

Ordered the chicken cashew chicken. Some decent Complex Thai flavor going with the chicken and veggies . Any sort of Thai sauce was extremely mild and mostly missing The cashews had a mushy, soft texture I didn't care for. Where's the sauce ?

Great Thai find along Melrose! Although it traditionally doesn't look like a Thai restaurant given its name and modern exterior, walking inside brings you to their space decorated with common Thai dish ingredients lined up and stacked on the shelves. I shared a Pad Thai with my friend and a Tom Kha Soup. The coconut cream was more on the lighter and sour side, which helped balance between the noodles. A small bowl was plenty of broth and chicken and the large size would be great for around 3-4 people. The rice noodles were chewy which I was a fan of the texture. There wasn't much shrimp in the Pad Thai if I remember eating not too many pieces. My friends ordered other Thai food staples such as Green Curry and Drunken Noodles and we liked those dishes as well! The amount of chicken/tofu in all of our dishes were copious. Well balanced portions, great flavors, variety of menu items, and tasty dishes round up overall about 4 stars for the meal and service!

Absolutely delicious food and really friendly staff! I've eaten here several times in person; the atmosphere is nice, though I think it still has room to grow a bit. But honestly, the food outshines everything around it. Their Thai Fried Rice is unforgettable. I used to live nearby, and I'd rush over on my bike with so much excitement just to pick up my order. Now I live farther away, but I still don't even want to try other places, I'm happy to wait longer for delivery just to taste their magical rice again. The portions are generous; enough for me to eat twice, sometimes even three times (though it's so good I always want to finish it in one go). And the amount of vegetables is incredible: corn, mushrooms, tomatoes, cucumber, carrot, herbs, onion, tofu, egg... everything tastes perfectly balanced. I don't know what they do to this rice, but every time I take the first bite, my face melts into pure bliss. It finds its way straight to my stomach and to my heart as well;) Their soups and sides are also great, and they're always attentive to the order adjustment) This is the kind of food you keep craving and coming back for. I would give all 5 stars for the Thai Fried Rice alone. Highly, highly recommend!

Super friendly staff, yummy food and drinks and very clean! There are quite a few Thai options in WeHo but this is on of the best for me! The flavor and the taste is quite rich and strong, and I love it! We got a few dishes and my favorite was the drunken noodle, tom yum soup, ribeye string beans, and the curry dishes. I also really like that they do allow you to switch out rice or noodle for more veggies. Highly recommend you check them out if you're in the area!

From the street it's hard to tell what Summer Buffalo is but every time I would pass by I saw it way busy so I knew it must be good. I didn't know it was a Thai place until I finally looked it up and my husband and I decided to check it out for a date night. We came on a Friday during peak dinner hours and were able to get seated right away. It's all essentially one room so you can see the chefs and it feels like you're in the kitchen with them. I ordered the pad see you with beef. The noodles and sauce were perfectly sweet and tasty, but I wouldn't recommend the beef because it was on the tough side and difficult to chew. Next time I'll do the chicken. The waitress also wasn't transparent that the beef would have a +$3 up charge so just something to keep in mind if you substitute. Parking is street parking on Melrose and side streets so best of luck!

I live in Miami & I can't find a decent pho anywhere! I was so excited to try the pho at Summer Buffalo and it did not disappoint. It was so yummy and exactly what I have been missing. Summer Buffalo is a cute little restaurant with yummy food. The wait staff is very friendly and the food comes out at a decent pace.

Such a great spot! Service is good, ambiance is pleasing, location is prime, pricing is doable, and the food quality is high and memorable. My party and I started with the Leaf Wrapped Savory Nibbles (spinach, shrimp, coconut flakes peanut, ginger, lime and tamarind caramel) - this was unique and refreshing as can be. We also had the Yellow Curry w/ chicken as the chosen protein - flavor was complex and the dish perfectly spiced. They truly got this right. Ended with a side salad w/ peanut dressing - simple but still with high marks. Will be back when on Melrose again.

This place is located in a corner of a Plaza on Melrose Avenue. I came across this place before I went to go work at a café! And it is a cute Thai restaurant that has a very great lunch special every day! For $16 I got a huge plate of orange chicken! It's very fresh and crispy! He also get a side of salad and rice! The staff here are super friendly and sweet! It looks like a lot of locals come by to eat at this place!

The Pad See Ew is the real deal, it's perfectly fried, utilizes tasty sauces, and the noodles are delicious. My only problem with this Thai spot are the portions, they're small for the price. The regular menu is quite expensive with the cheapest at $17 for appetizer and salad options and most expensive at a whooping $80. The lunch menu was more affordable but still on the pricey side $21-$32 with add on options. The waitress was taking our orders and what surprised me was with my co-worker ordered the pad see ew and the waitress asked her how spicy she wants it. I was aw shocked. I'm not a Thai food expert but I do know pad see ew is a noodles dish that's offers a sweet soy sauce flavor. Never served spicy. I didn't get to try the dish but when I asked my co worker how it taste she said it was spicy and not sweet at all. I'm not sure that was an authentic pad see ew. I ordered from the lunch menu and got the tumeric chicken, with steamed vegetables and paid extra $7 to substitute for a papaya salad. I asked for #2 spice level but it was not spicy at all. Other co workers said they asked for medium but it was way too spicy. So it looks like their spicy levels are inconsistent. I'm not sure how this restaurant can justify the prices with the quality they are serving. Probably won't be back. Service was mediocre. Didn't offer to refill our waters. My wife and I came for my birthday outing (she surprised me). Thai is always a "go to" and when we hit LA it's food time. My wife said probably the best she has ever had - crispy, creamy, actual crab sightings in the filling - loved it. Green curry - loaded with ingredients and aromatic and enticing.
