    Shrimp fried rice

I was greeted very warmly when I entered the restaurant. I wish I got my server's name. I ordered shrimp fried rice. It came out about 15 minutes later; It was fresh and piping hot. Very delicious. 10 /10. I will definitely be back.

Our group had just attended an event at the Academy Museum and were famished. We walked a couple of blocks over to Qi Steam Kitchen. Luckily, they were able to combine two tables for us to fit our group of eight together. Everything looked good on the menu so we decided to order several items to share and get a taste of everything. We doubled up on some orders so that everyone could get at least their own piece. We got: * 2x Pork Xiao Long Baos ($14.85 each), * Shrimp and Pork Siu Mai ($15.25), * Crystal Shrimp Dumplings ($15.25), * 2x Scallion Pancake ($8.45 each), * Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken ($14.45), * Stir-Fried Gai Lan ($13.25), * Spicy Dan Noodle ($14.99), * Red Bean Paste Sesame Balls ($9.25), * Pan-Fried Pork Baos ($14.55), * Bowl of Steamed Rice ($2.50), * Egg Fried Rice with chicken ($15.49), * 2x Sesame Paste Baos ($7.55 each). A can of soda is $2.99 and they had ginger ale and Ramune for $4.99 each. They were also out of coffee, thai tea, and milk tea when we were there (maybe an hour before closing), which was disappointing as most of us wanted some sugary caffeinated drinks. Food was delicious though! What we had was more than enough for the eight of us! There is a small plaza parking lot that I believe is free, but it was pretty dark once we walked over and I was focused on food, so I couldn't really tell if there were enough spaces. Looks like there might be some street parking, though there was quite a bit of construction on the streets going on. Good option for a yummy meal if you are nearby!

We found this nice dumping place while apartment shopping. There is a small parking lot out front and I was lucky to get the last spot directly in front. We ordered the soup dumplings, pot stickers, and pork rice bowl. And washed it down with a Thai ice tea. They bring a water bottle and cups to the table which is a nice touch like you see at Korean restaurants but more rare at Chinese or Taiwaneae food. The food really hit the spot. I really wasn't sure what to expect. The restaurant was clean and the server was nice. The best part are the photos on the menu. Yes, I could figure out what each item is based on the description but I always like to see what I am ordering without having to pull out my phone to check Yelp. I know I am a weirdo. The food was reasonable priced and a great casual lunch spot.

Taiwanese popcorn chicken. Tasty but the oil was old so it had a strong fried flavor that overpowered the chicken

My son and I got the Taiwanese popcorn chicken and an 8-piece order of pork/shrimp dumplings. The dumplings were really tasty. I also really enjoyed their Szechuan chili oil. The oil was not too spicy and had a nice, mild flavor that didn't overwhelm the palate. The popcorn chicken was pretty average. It tasted okay but the oil was clearly nearing the end of its life so the oil flavor overpowered the chicken. The employee working up front didn't have a lot to do so he hid behind the register playing on his phone. A good place to try once time. Lots of soup dumpling places in LA yet to try!

Was in the mood for some noodles so checked yelp while on the road and found Qi Steam Kitchen! I ordered Dan Dan Noodles (spicy) and it was definitely a good pick! Umami flavor was amazing and while the spicy flavor wasn't super intense, it was very yummy. The food came out pretty quickly after ordering and was nice and warm. The actual restaurant was very clean and spacious. There was also a small parking lot that is shared with a few other stores nextdoor as well. Overall am happy I stumbled upon this quaint spot and would recommend giving them a try!

So freakin GOOD! I came here on a rainy day in LA, looking for some comfort food and it did not disappoint. I had the beef noodle soup and it had so delicious, the broth was tasty and well seasoned and all the pieces of beef were extremely tender. That was the star of the show, we also had the shrimp tempura, shrimp fried rice and the chicken soup dumplings. All amazing! We will be coming back.

The moment I walked in the door I was greeted and attended. I liked the quick service and cleanliness. I ordered the pork belly Buns and the beef & vegetable dumplings they were really tasty and made to order. I will definitely come back to try more dishes.

This place is pretty decent and a good option if you don't want to shlep to SGV for good dumplings. The pork xlb broth was a little fatty, but had nice thin skin. The vegetable dumplings were pretty good as were the meatballs. I'd come again, but it's not somewhere that's a MUST go.

Small spot, not a lot of seating, not a lot of parking, but delicious dumplings! Ordered a bunch of items, since it was our first time, and we wanted to try as much as possible. Way too much food for 2 people so we had plenty of leftovers to take with us. Sesame balls- yum, sauce not needed DanDan noodles, meh Chicken karage, yum Soup dumplings, yum Crystal shrimp dumplings, yum Cucumber salad, refreshing

Solid dim sum! We ordered a few dishes for take out a few months back but finally had the chance to write this review. Really loved their crystal shrimp dumpling! It was like a traditional shrimp har gow but on steroids and almost 50% bigger. This was freshly steamed with a thin skin but tons of shrimp inside! I definitely recommend ordering this! The pork sui mai's were also much larger than what you get at a normal dim sum restaurant. The meat filling was busting out of the wrapper! Potstickers are meant to be eaten fresh in the restaurant but because we ordered togo the crispy bottom was a little soggy from the condensation. They were still very flavorful and contained a generous amount of filling. The chicken fried rice was prepared well too with a good wok flavor. The restaurant was very clean and is located at the corner of a small strip mall next to Papa John's pizza. Parking can be a bit tight during dinner time.

Old world service is sort of hybrid these days in that you can order dim sum standards from the checklist menu, and there will be servers coming by with kitchen specialities on trays (or you could order them directly from your server) and add anything from any of the 3 different main menus. A nod to old world service hierarchy which may not be clear to visitors: the ordering beverages and condiments, and general table requests and check out is from the gold vested servers. Red vests handle food to/from kitchen. Black vests and plain white shirts are management. Everyone will be attending to the entire floor, so if you're feeling neglected or need attendance, catch an eye and wave at a gold vest. When you call in orders, you'll speak with a black vest. Prices are higher than WK nearby but the quality here is higher and the selection is much wider. GD is also really good at mixing up menus, so you can have a great congee with preserved egg and youtiao (the stick donuts), a Singapore seafood noodle dish, a braised duck hot pot, and 20 different dim sum all at the same place and high quality throughout the meal. There's a paid parking lot next door, plus metered street parking. It's generally ADA accessible. Restrooms are waaay in the back of the restaurant. Valet parking can get difficult when the lot gets full. A few cars entering the narrow driveway had to reverse out of the way to let others leave. The kung pao chicken was very tasty with a good amount of spice. I noticed that the slippery shrimp didn't taste as spicy as the portion from Pasadena. Reviews say that the spice is adjustable. Regardless. it tasted great as it came right off the pan. The pork fried rice was delicious with a savory flavor that didn't seem overpowering. I thought the juicy steamed dumplings were the weakest dish out of our whole order. There wasn't enough flavor and heat from the broth. It's been sitting on my saved list for a while, and honestly, this turned out to be the perfect opportunity. The space itself is bright, clean, and welcoming with warm woody tones throughout. Casual setup where you order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. I had already looked through the menu beforehand, so the real challenge was narrowing down what to order for one person. I failed at that... and I'm very happy I did. Started with the Pig Ear Salad 滷豬耳朵. Braised thin sliced pig ears dressed with soy sauce, chili oil, sesame oil, scallion, and cilantro. OMG. So good. Tender, flavorful, perfectly braised, with that satisfying chewy texture done right. Also got the Fried Peanut Salad 五味花生 with garlic, cilantro, scallions, vinegar, and Thai chili. Super crunchy, bright, refreshing, and honestly addicting. I added a cup of the Hot & Sour Soup 酸辣湯 too. Organic tofu, beech mushroom, carrot, bamboo, woodear mushroom, and egg. Super comforting with a really balanced tang and peppery heat. Not overly thick or heavy like a lot of Americanized versions can be. Exactly the kind of soup you want during a long travel day. For noodles, I ordered the Dan Dan Noodles 擔擔麵. Sesame-peanut sauce, cucumber, cilantro, crushed peanuts. Delicious on its own already, but I ended up adding some of the fried peanuts from the salad into the noodles and it became even better. Then the Three Cup Chicken 三杯雞 with sesame oil, soy sauce, rice wine, and Thai basil. I do wish it had a little more wok hei, but overall the flavor was still really comforting and savory. Extremely good with rice. Had a glass of Gewürztraminer alongside everything, which paired surprisingly well with the spice and aromatics. Their wine list leans more organic / natural wine focused, which felt very LA in a good way. Ended up sitting at a high top next to one of the managers and had a great conversation throughout the meal. She ended up hooking me up with the Traditional Shaved Ice 傳統刨冰 with grass jelly, red bean, boba, sweet potato balls, taro balls, brown sugar syrup, and condensed milk. I was already planning to order it anyway, and wow... I finished the entire thing. The brown sugar syrup was incredibly fragrant.
