Pork buns were decent, but beware the buns are glazed and sticky! Use chopsticks.

We were craving dim sum after some Sunday morning tennis in Griffith Park. NBC Seafood in Monterey Park was too far, and Golden Dragon in Chinatown felt like a parking headache. So we landed on Kingdom Dim Sum in Thai Town, off Western and Hollywood Blvd. According to Yelp, it was the closest, highest-rated spot nearby. For $50, it hit the craving but didn't quite deliver on flavor or finesse. Here's the breakdown: Xiao long bao: Wrapper-to-meat ratio was off, and there wasn't enough soup. A little too pork-forward without the balance. BBQ pork bun: Glazed and overly sweet. The pork was decent, but minced too fine and not generous enough. Also, sticky fingers required me to hand wash mid-meal. Siu mai: Accidentally ordered the scallop/shrimp/pork combo. Flavor was fine, but the racquetball-sized portions felt too large for classic dim sum. Pickled cucumbers: Needed more pickling, but decent portions. What saved it from a 2-star? The service. Our soft-spoken Latino server was kind and attentive. Clean bathroom too. Plus, parking was a breeze in the strip mall garage. All in all, it curbed our dim sum craving, but for the same price, I'd rather make the drive to Monterey Park.

Caught me by surprised how good this place is. Portions are def big and for the price, I'd say it's pretty worth it. Authenticity is there with some slight changes to fit the palette of where they're surrounded. Highlights: - friendly service - shrimp and crab wonton was packed with meat and flavor - pineapple custard was chewy (my fav) - parking We also got the rice plate, but didn't eat it until the next day so hard to tell on flavor there, but would get again for the price point! I would def come back again

Tasty and great location for dim sum in Hollywood. The staff are very helpful and extremely nice

I heard about this place online and decided to make the trek to Hollywood to check it out. I read all the reviews about parking underground, but I was lucky to find a spot on ground level in the middle of the week, middle of the afternoon. I went with another foodie newbie and we ordered as much as we thought we could finish (we ended up with lots of leftovers). The glutenous rice with chicken was one of our favorites, with lots of chicken filling and a huge portion that could easily serve 4 with an order of 2 pieces. I was looking forward to getting the chicken feet, which was served in a huge portion (I took half of it home). I found it a very mild version of what I'm used to in NYC, but still very tender and satisfying. The pork ribs were meaty, not too fat, and had a nice hint of black beans. The shrimp har gow were fantastic with a thin wrapper, huge chunks of shrimp, and the filling was very lightly handled. One of our favorite items on the menu. The rice paper rolls with BBQ pork were so full of BBQ pork that it was almost like eating BBQ pork with just a thin bit of rice paper. Both the rice roll and pork were tender and delicious. The Chinese broccoli came finely chopped and chilled, which actually made it easier to eat. The pickled cucumber was another favorite dish, so much so that we ordered an extra to go, because it was one of the few dishes we finished! Will definitely be going back to try more dishes!

Love this place! The food is freshly made when you order so comes out piping hot and ready. Everything tastes so incredible this is my go to spot for dim sum when I don't want to leave the city. But even then I think this place tops some places in SGV. After stuffing my face with 2-4 other people the total is usually around $60-$100. So very affordable

Sometimes OC and SGV is really far for some delicious dim sum but this was a fresh and authentic hit close to home for my husband and I :D It was about a ~30 min drive on a weekend morning and luckily, we didn't hit any traffic coming here. Parking is limited on the same level as the restaurant so we found parking underground at the same plaza. It's a small and casual spot that feels cozy. We were the first ones to arrive when they opened and got seated right away. The menu is on a QR code so you can order through online I believe or order with a staff member. We thoroughly enjoyed all the food, which includes the rice noodle rolls with shrimp, Chinese broccoli, salt & pepper chicken wings, pork & shrimp siu mai, shrimp har gow and BBQ pork bun. It was more than enough food and our total was under $50, which is pretty good for dim sum. Thanks Kingdom Dim Sum for satisfying our dim sum craving! :)

Was passing thru the LA area and was craving Dim Sum. This restaurant popped up and the menu items and reviews looked good. We ordered takeout. Ended up wanting more but we were already away from the place. Would like to go back to dine in and try other menu items.

Maybe my judgement is slightly skewed by the fact that i didn't had dim sum in a minute... but damn that was good :-) We really enjoyed everything we ate. Fresh, tasty, good bang for the buck. The staff was friendly, space is small but convenient, easy parking, can do shopping at the same time.

Food 5/5: wow wow wow authentic dim sum never disappoints! This low key is better than Din Tai Feng. Price is more reasonable as well but is on the higher side. But each dim sum is made there and brings out so fresh and hot, I LOVE IT! It comes out fairly fast as well. I highly recommend if you love dim sum Service 5/5: fast and efficient service Ambiance 4/5: a quick diner setting I will come back for more!

Kingdom Dim Sum did a great job for chicken feet. I can tell this is one of the best chicken feet I've had in LA. Their chicken feet can beat some dim sum restaurants in SGV tbh. Other dishes were good too but I definitely recommend chicken feet here if you're craving for some good chicken feet. Prices are slightly higher than other places but portions are generous so I think it's worth the price. I'm glad that I don't have to drive an hour to SGV for dim sum anymore. Thanks again for your good food and service.

    Phoebe T.

Delicious! I love how every dish comes out piping hot & fresh. The shrimp in all the dishes is spectacular. Super juicy and flavorful! Even the fried rice was good. The chicken feet had a kick to them which I enjoyed a lot as well. The bbq pork rice roll fell short for me, I should've gotten the shrimp one instead. Menu is small, simple and gets to the point. Service was nice, food was amazing. 10/10 recommend.

I went not long after they opened. Everything was great but one of my dishes was straight up cold (which is odd since they made everything fresh). They quickly replaced it Customer service? It's really hands off. I ordered everything at once, all the workers were busy. It was empty when I went but they had a lot of DoorDash traffic and a big family came in. Prices were pretty cheap/average comparing to other dim sum places I go to in the 626. Would go again! And the leftovers taste better the 2nd time. Food didn't come all at once but came out as it was cooked. No carts here. Just fyi parking can be a pain on ground level but there's underground parking. One tip? If you order iced water; it kind of had an aftertaste, tasted like fridge. Wouldn't recommend but I had a canned drink and it was great.

Valet parking can get difficult when the lot gets full. A few cars entering the narrow driveway had to reverse out of the way to let others leave. The kung pao chicken was very tasty with a good amount of spice. I noticed that the slippery shrimp didn't taste as spicy as the portion from Pasadena. Reviews say that the spice is adjustable. Regardless. it tasted great as it came right off the pan. The pork fried rice was delicious with a savory flavor that didn't seem overpowering. I thought the juicy steamed dumplings were the weakest dish out of our whole order. There wasn't enough flavor and heat from the broth. I didn't try much of the eggplants, but they tasted adequate for me.

Old world service is sort of hybrid these days in that you can order dim sum standards from the checklist menu, and there will be servers coming by with kitchen specialities on trays (or you could order them directly from your server) and add anything from any of the 3 different main menus. A nod to old world service hierarchy which may not be clear to visitors: the ordering beverages and condiments, and general table requests and check out is from the gold vested servers. Everyone will be attending to the entire floor, so if you're feeling neglected or need attendance, catch an eye and wave at a gold vest. When you call in orders, you'll speak with a black vest. No explanation. Just a half-hearted apology and no sense of urgency. Instead, a random dish we didn't order was dropped off as "compliments from the kitchen." A freebie doesn't fix over an hour of being ignored. We had a hungry 5 year old with us. After a total of about 75 minutes with zero food, we told the waitress we were leaving. Her response? "Ok." That's it. No apology. No attempt to make it right. Just indifference. We even left money on the table, not because anything was earned, but because we have standards, even if this place doesn't. If this is how they operate when the restaurant isn't even busy, I can't imagine how bad it gets when it is. Plenty of other places that actually value their customers.
