My bf and I live in the area and wanted to find an authentic Chinese cuisine restaurant without having to drive into Chinatown. We pass this spot numerous times and it was about time we check it out. We got to sit immediately and the staff was friendly, the restaurant was comfy and clean. The owner made some recommendations on what to order. Got a mixture - dim sum (char siu bao, siu mai, dan tat), salt & pepper pork, spicy beef soup. Everything was brought out fresh, extremely tasty, and large portions for lunch the next day. If you can't handle spice then you might want to let them know. We found street parking and walked over.

First time seeing the barcode sticker still on the food. Says so much about the business. I ordered through doordash, spent nearly a hundred dollars on food nobody wants to touch because the quality is trash. I had the food before and it was great, this time it is nearly inedible.

Last October, we drove to LA to see a famous VN singer Concert at the Dolby Theatre, it's the first time we went to a VN concert and went inside the famous Dolby Theatre. It was amazing but before the 3 hr concert, we're hungry, we need to fill our stomach and this restaurant appeared on Yelp and it's next to the theater. The place doesn't have any parking lot, but we already parked at the Dolby Theater so it's just a little walk to Highland Ave. The restaurant doesn't look fancy, you can call it's a hole in the wall restaurant on the main street of Hollywood. The restaurant is actually very clean and pleasant inside. There's only 2 people working there, must be mom and pop. It wasn't crowded when we walked in, so we get to order right away. Every dishes are so inexpensive compare to the Bay Area. We ordered many dishes that we liked. Eggplants, pineapple fried rice, seafood crispy chow mein, 3 flavor sizzling plate, some sapporo and tsingtao beer, we prefer to share a big bottle of either one but they don't have so we ordered single one each to share. The foods cooked very hot and tasty, the portions are huge, we actually took home most of the foods. The eggplants were delicious, the crispy chow mein with thick noodles wasn't so crispy and it's hard, the sauce is excellent, we preferred the cantonese thin noodles. The Fried rice seemed to be from precooked rice and not freshly cooked, dry and hard although the taste was good. The 3 flavor sizzling plate was excellent and we liked it a lot. For the price and the food, this place is great, just have to order the right dishes. May be the soft chow mein would be good, the steam rice may be better than fried rice or dump the rice altogether with just chow mein. Now we know a place to eat when we visit Hollywood Chinese and Dolby Theatre.

First time here and picked up a to go order to walk up the hill to the Hollywood Bowl. Food was served in a timely manner and the portion size was more than adequate . Only negative was they had no spicy mustard, only soy sauce and sriracha .

    This is mold.

I ordered delivery and there's a fly in my soup! The cabbage also appears to be moldy.

After a show at The Bowl, my friend and I hiked down the mountain about 15 minutes, ending up at Le Oriental Bistro. Like a beacon of respite offering deep fried goodness, it satiated us nicely. This spot reminded me of many spots in one of my old 'hoods - Chinatown in Chicago. Service isn't exactly the emphasis but that's just the vibe of the place. This Chinese food spot though is located right by Hollywood and Highland - a human hub! We were lucky to beat a rush in and get a table before it quickly filled up around 11pm. The dishes we had weren't very adventurous: ~a BBQ Pork Fried Rice that was good ~honey chicken which was fine - pretty soggy, we had hoped for more crispness for being so un-saucy, but the minimal sauce had a good flavor ~salt & pepper chicken was best of the night, crisp & great flavor Portions were all huge - legit made a few meals for me in leftovers! We ordered a Sprite which never came, we couldn't flag anyone down for 20 mins so finally just grabbed one ourselves lol. The place was totally packed with one young server though, so it happens. Overall, made for exactly what we needed at just the right time to hit the spot! I wouldn't mind hitting them up again.

Le Oriental Bistro serves delicious food, I ordered the Mongolian Beef and was very pleased. The slices of steak were tender, perfectly cooked in a very tasty sauce with sliced onions and scallions. The service was friendly, food was excellent was good and I'll return again.

Super huge portions! We wasted so much foods after ordering 4 dishes for 3 adults. Foods are salted for us so that can be a reason we left a lot. Really cheap for a tourist area!

Incredibly greasy, and the salt and pepper shrimp was just not good the flour or breading was stale and excessive

    "pan" fried potstickers

Not one, but three reasons to stay away, actually 4: - Pan Fried potstickers came deep fried - Beef rolls were cold and chewy beef - Pan fried noodles were deep fried Uber Eats could care less, suggested I rate the business, so here I am. FWIW their 'driver' was not on a bike delivering, he said he walked! No wonder things were cold.

We had two orders of slippery shrimp, kung pao chicken, eggplants with hot and spicy garlic sauce, juicy steamed dumplings, and pork fried rice. Overall, both restaurants in Chinatown and Pasadena provide great food quality. The ambience was cozy with dim lighting. Our round table had a wooden rotating tray. They have pictures of celebrities and politicians who've visited their restaurant. Service was relatively quick, but there was a 20-minute wait for the dumplings. Valet parking can get difficult when the lot gets full. A few cars entering the narrow driveway had to reverse out of the way to let others leave. The kung pao chicken was very tasty with a good amount of spice. I noticed that the slippery shrimp didn't taste as spicy as the portion from Pasadena. Reviews say that the spice is adjustable. Regardless. it tasted great as it came right off the pan. The pork fried rice was delicious with a savory flavor that didn't seem overpowering. I thought the juicy steamed dumplings were the weakest dish out of our whole order. There wasn't enough flavor and heat from the broth. I didn't try much of the eggplants, but they tasted adequate for me.
