Let's be honest. This is NOt by any stretch of any imagination a Taiwanese noodle shop... Yes, I can order "Taiwan" beer, yes, I can order Gai Lan, that taste ok... but noodles? Dry, undercooked, beef came with a smell of burnt... Am no Chinese cuisine expert (well...) but this is a cool trendy place, for trendy people, who claim they ate Chinese cuisine... Ambiance is great (if you like the LA scene), and service is impeccable and super friendly... Just the food ain't up to snuff....

Truthfully, I don't think woon is a must try. I think the portions are a bit small for their price and there weren't any distinct flavors that set these apart from a traditional Chinese restaurant-- I would even add that it's lacking. However, if I'm not comparing, then I would say the pork belly from the rice dish was really tender and melt in your mouth. You order at the counter and the food comes, so you don't really need to engage with the staff aside from that. The space is cute and cozy-- it felt like a dimly lit house kitchen!

Food is very well seasoned. I really enjoyed the texture of the chewy noodles and the wings are prepped well. The fried rice is less flavorful but I enjoy the mix of black rice within the rice. Service is minimal since you order and then sit down

Quick service and yummy food. Solid beef noodles and their scallion pancake beef roll was so crispy with lots of veggies! Love the homey interior vibes. Looking forward to going back to try some dinner items.

TLDR: 4/5. For the amount of people we had, the portions were actually fairly good. Tasty overall, super attentive staff, small space but lovely vibe and sizeable outdoor area. Finally made it to Woon and I swoon!! Because this place is small we booked a reservation (8 ppl) ahead of time. Otherwise it could be tough without one depending on the size. Ordered: Scallion Pancake: 5/5 - I mean what is there to say, has a scallion pancake ever let me down? The fluffiness, the crisp, the butteriness, the dipping sauce. Finger licking good. Mama's Five Spice Chicken Wings: 3.7/5 - I'm pretty picky about my wings. With said don't get me wrong these are good but I just think it has the potential to really hit new limits. The seasoning could've been heavier but I do think this is a good app option. Spicy "Mouthwatering" Tofu: 4/5 - When a tofu is prepared right it can transform a dish. The marinade on this was nice and flavorful, but not too spicy for me, just a good heat. Pork Belly Bao - 3.8/5 - I wanted the pork belly to be a little more tender. It was a tad on the drier side. Otherwise this was a great mix of ingredients to have in a bao bun. Veggie Fried Rice & Pork Fried Rice - 4/5: With or without meat I thought these were both solid. Good amount too so great for the table. Veggie & Beef Noodles - I'll actually have to give it to the veggie noodles on this one! The beef ones were good but I felt like the beef itself was also a little on the dry side? I love this kind of noodle though. I also thought the veggie was slightly more flavorful. Service: 5/5 Everything came out super quickly but also well paced? As I said the staff were attentive. Vibes: 5/5 The evening was more of a moody vibe but it was perfect to me. I love that you can see them cooking in the front. The noise level was perfect with some good tunes. The outside has a good amount of stool seating with heaters in case its chilly. Parking is street and neighborhood but it could be a bit of a mission. Until next time!

Absolutely delicious food in a beautiful environment. We tried the beef noddles, chicken wings, and the scallion pancakes. The wings were perfectly crispy, and the beef noodles were maybe the best I've ever had. The scallion pancakes were also delicious. We came at the perfect time, near sunset, so the lighting was perfect. The decor was minimal but stunning. Will definitely come back to try more next time I'm in LA!

A must-try spot for elevated Asian comfort food! This is a quick-service restaurant (order at the front then find a seat) with a cozy yet modern aesthetic. Arrived at 6pm on a Monday and there was no wait + plenty of seating. Ordered the wings, pork belly over rice, beef noodle, and scallion pancakes. These were shared among 2 people and we both left stuffed AND had food left over! The star of the show for me was 100% the beef noodles - the al dente handmade noodles absorb the umami flavor of the tender beef and sauce. What more do you need in this life?? This is not to say the other dishes were not good, though, because everything we ordered was delicious! Special shoutout to the pork belly - the fat was so buttery, it just melts in your mouth. The wings and scallion pancakes were perfectly crispy. Can't wait to come back soooon!

Good people, good food, and good music. My first time at Woon was their anniversary party, and they had this special hot dog with crunchy bits on top--ridiculous in the best way. That's the thing with this spot: you have to follow them. They're always doing specials and pop-up collabs, and if you're not paying attention, you'll miss the good stuff. It's a small space with seating inside and out. Quick-serve style, which means you wait in line... often behind people who somehow don't look at the menu until they're standing at the register. Don't be that person. Grab a menu, decide before you get up there. You can even check the fridge while you're waiting and get your drink plan together. Realistically, everyone orders the same hits for a reason: chicken wings, beef noodles, plus whatever special or pop-up item they've got going. You genuinely can't go wrong--everything is solid. Pro tip: get the sake. It's house-made, comes as a whole jug, and costs less than a glass of wine. Easy win. Bonus points for the vibes: they post their playlists on Spotify, and they donate to charities, which matters right now. Woon is the kind of place that rewards repeat visits--and attention.

Really wanted to love this place because it's so cute, but was left disappointed because of the food. This is coming from a Chinese person, so I may have had higher expectations. Although this is a self-seating restaurant, the staff is super friendly and attentive. The line out the door was intimidating, but surprisingly went by really quickly!

I've been wanting to try this place out FOREVER! finally had the chance when my partner's school was having a small gathering here. The food, the service and the vibe was great! tried the beef noodles, cucumber tofu, tofu bao and the spicy mouth watering tofu. Each dish was so good! It's counter service style so you order inside, they give you a number and they bring the food to your table. Please note that portions are what we Americans would consider "small" but in reality, they are sensible. So take that into consideration when ordering. This place was packed as soon as they opened at 5pm through the time we left around 7pm. will definitely come back and try the other dishes.

Frice rice was reminiscent of Japanese chahan and wings were crispy, tender, and juicy. Noodles were a little too chewy to the point where it felt undercooked (from someone that loves chewy noodles). Scallion pancake was just plain crispy dough with no flavor or chew. Bean curd was shockingly dry in the cucumber salad. Everything was a little overseasoned (too salty and to sour). Portions felt small but we left satiated and didn't pay an outragoeus amount of money. Barely anyone there was Asian but the population was largely millenial.

This location is a neighborhood favorite, packed from open to close and for good reason. YOU MUST ORDER THE NOODLES. They are charred, umami, and have a kind of chew that you will not be able to stop thinking about.  Everything else that I tried was alright. The scallion pancakes were lackluster and overpriced. The pork bao buns were good, but unbalanced. The pork belly was soft and the pickles offered a nice tang, but the bite lacked an overall sweetness that would have helped round out the dish.  The ambience is nice, with small tables, short chairs, and tight spacing. It is a very homey feel. Parking is plentiful in the surrounding neighborhoods as well.

I was driving home when I saw a sign for "homestyle Chinese food" and randomly decided to pull over. The funny part is, once I walked in, I realized I'd actually seen this spot pop up on DoorDash and Uber Eats a bunch of times before. I'm really glad I ended up visiting in person instead because the atmosphere inside is genuinely part of the experience. The place has a great energy to it. The staff all seemed happy to be there and genuinely liked each other, which honestly changes the whole feel of a restaurant. They were playing good music, service was fast, and the space itself just felt warm and lively without trying too hard. I ordered the Pork Belly over Rice along with the Woons + Ugly half beer, which it sounds like is a Taiwanese rice beer brewed specifically for the restaurant. The pork belly was exceptional. The flavor had a lot of depth and worked perfectly with the pickled vegetables and rice. I added chili oil to mine and that pushed it over the edge in the best way. One thing I will say is the portions are a little deceptive at first glance. When the dish first came out, I actually thought it looked small, but it ended up being incredibly filling. I even considered taking half home at first, but ate slowly and finished the whole thing comfortably. Definitely enough food to leave full. Everything came out super quickly and was plated beautifully. I went around 5:15 PM on a Thursday and had no issue finding street parking right in front, with plenty of spots on both sides of the street. Overall, this ended up being one of those random stop-ins that turns into a place you immediately know you'll come back to.

The food came out hot and fresh. The kimchi pancakes were nice and crispy on the outside and had a nice chewy center with tangy crunches of kimchi. It balanced very well with the sauce they had, I liked it a lot. We ordered the honey nutty butter wings, it was fried well and came with a couple of tteokbokki. Personally it was a bit too sweet for me, I was craving some heat or acid to balance out the sauce. From the name I thought it would be a nutty sauce, but it was coated in honey butter and the nutty part was just a couple slivers of nuts sprinkled on top. I'd probably try a different flavour next time. Overall a really fun experiment and would definitely recommend you stopping by if you're looking for that kind of vibe.

We couldn't connect to WiFi and had no way of knowing what food was available. Very strange experience. There was one big table of people and one or two other small groups. It wasn't very busy. I genuinely felt like they did not want me there and that I was inconveniencing the staff. We just walked out.

This was my first time trying Kyrgyz food and everything I had here was delicious!…read more I visited this hidden gem in Koreatown on a weeknight and unfortunately they did not have several menu items available due to lack of ingredients. However, I just got whatever was available. Going down the list of foods my friends and I shared: - Manti: Huge dumplings made out of beef and fat. These were meaty and tasty. They paired well with the side red sauce which was tangy and helped cut the fatiness of the manti. Dumpling skin could've been softer, but still pretty good. It is 5 pieces per order. - Kuurdak: A beef and potato dish. The beef was tender and I loved the flavorful potatoes with onions! Great combo and felt like a nice home-cooked dish. - Samsa: A pastry stuffed with beef. Loved this! The pastry was warm and flaky and stuffed with lots of beef. Would be even better if it came with some sort of sauce. - Kompot: A fruit drink made out of apples, pomegranate, and peaches. Fruity, smooth and refreshing. Paired well with all the rich and meaty dishes. All the dishes were priced on the cheaper end so it was such great value for the amount of food/protein you get. The interior is cozy with comfortable seating and a bathroom. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. The service here was great! It seems like a family-run spot. They also have some free parking within the plaza the restaurant is located. This is such a hidden gem and I would recommend people to try it out. I would love to come back to try the dishes I was not able to try.

The few times I've had central asian food I've always loved the comforting flavors, highly recommend this spot!
