Empty platter of beef dumplings (3)

First time here! Ordered the beef dumplings! So yummy! I'll definitely be back when I'm on the area. I'll have to try more items on the menu. The prices are decent for the quality of food. Very nice lady who works there and is welcoming.

We stumbled upon Xibei Dumplings after shopping at the Silverlake Baggu store. What a treat!! A cute little restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The service was phenomenal very fast and friendly. The food was delicious we ordered a couple of appetizers and shared the braised pork noodles. The veggie dumplings, cucumber salad, and veggie egg rolls are a must have!! Thank you so much Xibei Dumplings for a fantastic dinner

Service is excellent and the food came in a speedy manner! Def a casual eat out! Dumplings are okay, the dumpling skin is very thin, and the meat inside ate basically the meatballs you get for homemade Chinese soup. $12 + tax for 4 dumplings def a $$$

This place used to be Dong Po (one of my favorite restaurants) I guess management changed? Anyways, the food is still pretty much similar to dong po and taste is amazing. The duck is so delicious no gameyness at all. Pretty much everything we got was super yummy except the fish with pickled mustard greens, it didn't have that strong peppercorn taste or the sourness too it. I will definitely be back for the duck~

I went on a week day for lunch, it was quiet with a few other people dining inside. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered the angus beef shaomai, pan fried beef shaomai, shrimp zucchini shaomai, scallion pancake, & popcorn chicken. All of the shaomai are fresh made to order and well filled. The popcorn chicken is so crispy and delicious! My top favorites are the shrimp zucchini shaomai & popcorn chicken! Parking- metered street parking

We ordered the chicken/mushroom fried dumplings, the boiled beef dumplings, wood ear mushrooms, shrimp/zucchini steamed dumplings, and Dan Dan Noodles. Everything was delicate and delicious. Very fresh! We also enjoyed speaking with our server. She was so nice and eager for us to enjoy the food. My husband and I live in Santa Monica and enjoy dumplings in San Gabriel Valley, Mason's Dumplings in Highland Park, Din Tai Fung, and Pine and Crane. Xibei Dumplings is on this "favorites" list.

Great little lunch spot, so glad to have checked it out! Some small tables inside and a few outside tables as well. Food was ready very quickly after we ordered, and it was hot and fresh. Service was quick and friendly, and they had a refrigerated section inside with some canned sodas and teas to drink. The standouts for me that I definitely am coming back for are the Shrimp & Zucchini Shaomai, Popcorn Chicken, and the Scallion Pancakes, although everything tasted wonderful. It's a spot that is good for sharing so that you can order a bunch of things and try more stuff. I would say it definitely is living up to the hype I have seen online and is worth checking out!

Probably the best dumplings/ steamed shao mais in this area if you venture out of the 626. Honestly I was hesitant but so intrigued... keep an open mind and their dumplings will knock your socks off. The skin was thin, every bite was packed with filling- that wrapper to filling ratio was awesome. They're super fast about it too! The rice plates and other sides were pretty fine and ok. The wood ear sides honestly not my fav take (it was too sweet for my preference), but honestly I'll come back just to eat the dumplings.

Xibei Dumplings is showcasing some amazing hand-wrapped shaomais and Northwestern style Chinese cuisine in their first U.S. based location in Silverlake! To get here, street parking will be your best bet and there is a lot of it throughout the area. This is a more fast casual spot with about 5-6 tables for seating inside and a 3-4 additional tables in their patio. For their menu, they have a nice selection of different shaomais to choose from along with some main dishes and appetizers. I stopped by for some lunch with the Phamily and we got a spread of the Angus-Beef Shaomai, Lamb Shaomai, Shrimp & Zucchini Shaomai, Chinese Pork Burger, Popcorn Chicken, Scallion Pancake, Wood-ear Mushroom Salad, and the Cucumber Salad. Everything was flavorful with authentic and comforting flavors. My personal faves were the Angus-Beef Shaomai and the Chinese Pork Burger. Overall, I am glad I got to check this spot out. It is located in a great neighborhood with lots of other shops to peruse before or after eating. All of the staff here are very friendly and accommodating. Xibei Dumplings welcome to America!

Located in Silverlake, Xibei is an authentic Chinese spot serving some of the most unique dumplings I've ever seen. They're called shaomai and are handmade to order, when you order. You can watch each one crafted by hand in their open kitchen. Their menu is small but focused. The shrimp & zucchini shaomai is their most popular filling, and you can even get any of them pan-fried! And they recently added OAT noodles to their menu, which are handmade and hand-torn, and a healthy alternative to regular noodles. You have to try this Chinese version of pasta with the tomato eggplant sauce. And you've gotta go for their crystal cold noodles, orange chicken rice bowl, and Chinese pork sandwich--all hits. With an order of shaomai dumplings starting at just 10 bucks, it's a no brainer to check them out. Thanks for reading! ^-^

Wow the food is pretty good here. The dumplings wrappers are very thin with a good amount of filling. The staff is very friendly and service was quick. The space is very clean and I like how its a little tucked away from the main street. I love that they steam their dumplings in bamboo. It definitely adds to the aroma and experience. My only pet peeve is ... I hate eating dumplings with to-go paper plates and plastic utensils. It takes away from the dining experience. I get that they're going for a more casual feel being counter service and all but I much more enjoy dumplings at a sit down with actual soy sauce bottles (not individual packets). Perhaps for next time I will actually order to go so I can bring it home and eat the food with my own dinnerware.

I ordered the Slippery shrimp, Slippery chicken, another disappointment, the veggies that contain baby corn and different types of mushrooms (delicious), vegetable fried rice (also delicious) and the grren beans with minced chicken (another delicious option). It was a but busy when we got there but luckily we got seared pretty shortly after arrival. We originally wanted to sit at the bar, but opted for a table for less wait time. When first looking at the menu we were shocked by the prices. I knew immediately i wanted to get the hui tou potstikers with pork and noodles. We ended up adding on the hongkong style wontons too. To my suprise the wontons arrived in a delicious and warm broth, keeping them perfectly moist and plump. The broth was so delicious even on a hot day, tasting faintly of sesame and scallion. Despite both dishes being pork they were so different and equally amazing in flavor. The pan fried potstikers which were CRISPED TO PERFECTION especially reminded me of black bean shortribs that you get from dimsum, fatty but hearty and had me wanting more and more each bite. The minced pork noodles were to no suprise, so good. Noodles tasted fresh, the sauce was umami with mushrooms and pork. While im not the biggest fan of mushrooms, i still ate it up. I feel it would be so good with some picked cabbage too to complement the saltiness. Most notable thing... THAT CHILI OIL. We probably used almost half the jar left at the table. It wasnt spicy at all, but it had this flavor that i genuinely have never tasted before. The texture of the chilli and sesame and the nutty flavor had me in awe. Enough to take two jars home... i would do it again. Servers were so quick, made sure everything we needed was at the table. Regardless of the crowd we were met with promptness and generosity. I ended up getting my kung pao chicken and settled for the Mongolian beef, and veggie egg rolls. The Mongolian beef I could definitely pass on. The kung pao chicken was good at first, but somehow lost its flavor as the meal went on. The egg rolls were just okay. Nice and crispy on the outside, but too mushy on the inside for my liking. I was also pretty surprised (and a lot sad) that they didn't have hot mustard. The tea was really good though! Service was fine. The server was attentive, just clearly busy keeping up with all the takeout orders coming through. Ambience is definitely on the lower side here, so don't come expecting a nicer Chinese restaurant. I loved it! Service was lukewarm at best. The girl performed her service in a convincingly nonchalant way. But at least I got lemon infused water refilled twice. :) Well decorated with Chinese cultural elements. Very spacious, clean and peaceful ambience. We had a lovely time and will return.
