I went to Shin Beijing for lunch, and it was a solid experience. The interior is spotless, with a modern remodel, new lighting and some private rooms create a nice atmosphere. We started with the mala mapo tofu, and it was fantastic, spicy and numbing with a strong mala kick. Service was quick and attentive, with the staff regularly topping off water. We also tried the stir fried vegetables, which had a bit of a mustard or wasabi like flavor. My family enjoyed it, but it wasn't my favorite. The ttangsyuk, however, was a highlight. The medium portion wasn't huge, but it was still satisfying, with crispy breading and an excellent sauce.

They get super busy so if you have a big party, make sure to make reservations. They have a big room to accommodate 100 people and they can also separate it into 5 rooms to host a party of 20 in each room! They have a wide selection of party menu so it a perfect place to host your party. There is a reason for them being open since 1984. And I was convinced to check out Shin Beijing because a chef from one of my favorite Korean restaurants in LA told me about them so it's legit. I wouldn't go here just for jjajangmyeon or jjampong. Still good but I highly recommend going their for the main dishes.

I know Chinese restaurants aren't as popular for Dohljanchis these days, but it was a clear that for good food, plenty of space, and a good deal, Shin Beijing would be best to fit my family's needs for my daughter's 1st birthday. The staff here were so accommodating, flexible, and hardworking. They provided us with everything we needed and more to make sure all went smoothly. Our non-Korean guests and Korean guests all enjoyed the food and variety. I would definitely recommend Shin Beijing if you want a simple and efficient group celebration.

This is good Korean Chinese food! It is fusion food so it is not authentic Chinese flavors. The crispy pork was very flavorful and crispy. The shredded pork with seafood was unique and included shrimp, sea cucumber scallop and more. They are known for their black bean noodle dish which was savory with onions and a tasty sauce. They also have a Korean seafood soup noodle dish with lots of ingredients inside. The restaurant is clean inside and upscale.

We had a family gathering/birthday dinner (7 people including a baby) so we were trying to look for a restaurant with a private dining room, which Shin Beijing had. We were able to book one of their rooms for a Sunday dinner with their manager but, he called and canceled last minute saying there was a mistake. I was extremely annoyed as I was the one planning the dinner and had to find another place in 3 hours with a room for 7 people. (Almost impossible during holiday season/on a weekend) The manager did apologize and said he would try his best to accommodate us, which he did. He got us a table in the corner where it was blocked off, as we didn't want to interrupt others with a crying baby during dinner. The service was great and we enjoyed the food as well! I forgot to take pics of all the dishes we ordered. I especially enjoyed the sweet and sour pork (tang soo yook). Their jjampppong is on the spicier side so if you like spicy food, it's worth a try :) I also liked how the jjajangmyun wasn't too sweet! This place is under new management and I noticed the place pop up on my social media so I've been wanting to try it! Wasn't the best Korean Chinese food I've had, but everything seemed to be decent and the manager/servers were all very friendly. They also have a lunch special so I may come back for that :) Valet parking avail or limited street parking

Jajangmyeon

Finally their summer seasonal menu opened! I've been waiting for this cold noodle for months. This dish brings out my childhood memory. I couldn't find this chinese cold noodle anywhere but here. It's the best summer time refreshing dish. Highly recommend! I kept thinking of this restaurant and kept coming back weekly. Servers are always nice and friendly. Always welcoming. Place is always clean, can't believe that it is old restaurant.

The cleanest and most delicious spot in Koreatown! The best value for your money! Once you try it, you'll definitely come back. Highly recommended!

We had two orders of slippery shrimp, kung pao chicken, eggplants with hot and spicy garlic sauce, juicy steamed dumplings, and pork fried rice. Overall, both restaurants in Chinatown and Pasadena provide great food quality. The ambience was cozy with dim lighting. Our round table had a wooden rotating tray. They have pictures of celebrities and politicians who've visited their restaurant. Service was relatively quick, but there was a 20-minute wait for the dumplings. Valet parking can get difficult when the lot gets full. A few cars entering the narrow driveway had to reverse out of the way to let others leave. The kung pao chicken was very tasty with a good amount of spice. I noticed that the slippery shrimp didn't taste as spicy as the portion from Pasadena. Reviews say that the spice is adjustable. Regardless. it tasted great as it came right off the pan. The pork fried rice was delicious with a savory flavor that didn't seem overpowering. I thought the juicy steamed dumplings were the weakest dish out of our whole order. There wasn't enough flavor and heat from the broth. I didn't try much of the eggplants, but they tasted adequate for me.

Anything you can eat you any night you don't have to cook is usually a great night out. This evening was no exception. Our waitress was kind and accommodating. Everything was prepared wonderfully and had tremendous flavor. I recommend trying their Hui Tou, stuffed with pork or beef, pork and leek pancakes, they also have vegetarian options. Their pork shumai was delicious, xiao long bao's soup dumplings were flavorful. Delicious. I definitely need a second trip here to try their soups and more of their variety of dumplings.

Our go-to dishes are the cucumber salad (refreshing and perfectly crunchy), green scallion pancakes (especially good with the chili sauce), pork shumai (better than Din Tai Fung imo), and the spicy pork wontons. On our most recent visit, we tried the sesame noodles, and I've been daydreaming about them ever since. The staff is always friendly and attentive, the vibes inside are great, and there's a solid drink selection with cocktails, draft beer, and bottled options. And the price point? Outrageously reasonable, especially in this economy. Consistently delicious food, great service, and incredible value. Highly recommend!

The restaurant workers looked more organized vs this location that has more of a traditional Chinese vibe, slightly tired building, not particularly clean, service feels a bit rushed and sloppy. The highlights of the night were the celery root blini with crème fraîche and Ossetra caviar, the trout tartare, the duck sausage, and the grilled short ribs. We scored a bottle of 2007 François Cotat Sancerre. Cotat is one of the most iconic Sancerre producers, and because his wines are built to age, finding a 2007 vintage on the menu here was a massive treat. While we didn't dive into the proper cocktail menu, my partner ordered the non-alcoholic Hojicha Orange Milk Punch, which was phenomenal, and judging by how beautiful the drinks at neighboring tables looked, I'd assume their cocktail program is strong.
