The location is on the small side and a good place to grab lunch, and less so for a leisurely lunch. There's no table service here, just pay upfront. They will hand you a number on paper that will be called out when your food is ready. I had their jjampong ($11.35) and it was good! Spicier than the one from HK Banjum in the valley, but delicious nonetheless. Believe it said something like 50 cent charge for take-out. Another perk is their parking lot, no valets. It is small and gets crowded soon after noon but when I went around opening time during the weekday, there were lots of open spots. Soooo delicious. We got jajangmyeon and sweet and sour pork as well as the jjamppong with noodles. The jajangmyeon might be some of the best I've eaten in Ktown. I'm a big fan of HK Banjum. Whenever I don't know what to eat, I'll come to HK Banjum. I have tried everything on their menu and my fav is the black bean paste noodle with Tangsu. Highly recommend asking for vinegar, and mix with soy sauce as the dipping sauce. It matches Tangsu very well. There are a few locations around Ktown, but in my humble opinion, this location has the best noodle dishes. The jjajangmyun and jjampong are so smoky and delicious that I always end up inhaling my noodles in a few minutes. Stopped on a Saturday around noon time for take out. I called 30 minutes earlier to order. I ordered 2 jampong, 3 jajangmien and the sweet and sour pork. I wanted the large jajangmien (enough for 2 people) but it still said coming soon on their menu. My order was ready when I arrived. They packed everything into a nice box. The jajangmien sauce was separated from the noodles with this extra layer. Lots of sauce which is good. The sauce was delicious and a bit sweet the way I like it. Came with pickled radish. The jampong had a strong seafood taste which is good. It wasn't too spicy but they gave us a side of spicy powder if you wanted it spicier. The sweet and sour pork was just okay. A bit tough to eat. I put it in the air fryer to reheat to it was little bit more crispy. The sauce was also packed separately. Overall the meal was good. Comfort food. Prices were pretty cheap. They are located in a small plaza with limited 20 minute parking. I was able to get a spot. Service was normal. Paid with credit card and was on my way. The owner/manager lady is super off... she was screaming at her workers and customers the whole time we were eating. We were so overstimulate by her constant ringing of the bell and yelling that we decided to eat our food at home but she wouldn't give us a Togo box. She wanted to charge us 50 cents only in cash. We chose this location because it offers free parking. However it has a more limited menu compared to the one in Hangari plaza. My husband and I ordered their two most popular items: black bean noodles and spicy noodle soup. Honestly one bowl would have easily fed the two of us. For under $9 per person, we were beyond stuffed. The noodles were perfectly cooked (a little chewy and soaked up all the flavor beautifully). I loved the black bean sauce - a good balance of savory (minced pork and pan fried onions) and sweetness (aromatic black bean paste and sugar). I slurped up every ends and bits - delish! Omg. I saw the roach in the JJJajang-myoun. It is so disgusting! This place is totally dirty. The noodles and soup were dropped on the red tables. No one cleaned it. The cashier lady was horrible too. It was around 6 PM. She was on her cell phone all the time in front of me. The customers were lined up, but she was still stuck on her Cell phone for 15 minutes. My family and I have had Hong Kong Banjum several times. We usually order to-go since we aren't from the area, and just pick this up as a meal to enjoy once we're home after passing through Koreatown. The food here is always good and is reasonably priced. The tangsuyuk, even after a half-hour drive home, is crispy and hot, and the sauce is sweet and tangy. I give this place four stars because I enjoy more savory jajangmyeon, but Hong Kong Banjum (every location, not just this one) tends to have slightly sweeter sauce.
