Since they are a small business and take on catering only orders, sample availability was as long as it was part of a current order. They couldn't fulfill everything I wanted to order because they had prior orders for the same day/morning I needed to pick up the food for our party but Jenn worked with me to provide what they could within the time frame we needed it. All the desserts sounded so good I didn't know which ones I wanted to pick. And Jenn went out of her way to make a sample box of desserts for us to taste before I placed my order. Which actually made it harder to choose because each one hit the spot; not too sweet (Big Asian compliment), the right balance of full flavor, and the perfect texture, crisp outside and soft or gooey inside. Of all the ube and pandan flavored desserts my husband and I have had over the years, Ube Snacks is definitely top tier. We even had the opportunity to try the BBQ sticks before finalizing our order and we had to switch the quantities because the chicken bbq blew us away. I think this company should change its name to UBE BBQ Crack--because the food? Absolutely phenomenal. I thought I had an idea of what to expect, but I was completely blown away. Our party ended last Sunday, and people are still talking about how incredible the food was. We heard comments like, "This is the best brisket I've ever had"--and that came from someone who's eaten at some of the best BBQ joints in the country and is usually very picky. Even guests who are known for being selective were going back for seconds (and thirds). I expected to at least get some pancit (a classic Filipino favorite), but when I got to the buffet, the tray was wiped clean--literally. Every single tray from UBE Snacks & BBQ looked like someone took a napkin and cleaned it out. I didn't even get a chance to try it, but based on the raving reviews from our guests days later, it clearly lived up to the hype. Oh--and the mac and cheese? Out of this world. TLDR; These desserts are delicious and super affordable! We tried a sample box today and are planning on having them as our desserts vendor for our wedding next month! We liked the ube butter mochi and regular pandan and ube cookies the most of what we tried! THE SCOOP: We have a wedding coming up and wanted to pick a tasty dessert that has a little something for everyone (one dessert most likely doesn't fit all preferences), that wasn't cake (neither of us like cake all that much haha), that people can eat when they want to (individual wrapping is available, making to go desserts super easy!), and that didn't break the budget (pricing vs traditional cake was soooo much cheaper)....and we are so lucky to have found these because they checked all our boxes for our desserts desires! WHAT'S IN THE BOX: Today in preparation for the wedding we got a sampler box to try with our friends and family. In our box, we tried the ube butter mochi and a variety of cookies! (pandan, pandan crinkle, ube crinkle, ube cookie and coffee cookie) OUR FAVORITES: Everything was delicious!! But our top 3 favorites were the ube butter mochi and the regular pandan and ube cookies! THE DEETS: The ube butter mochi was like nothing I'd had before so I'm super excited to introduce my family to new flavors and textures! It wasn't overly sweet and was a hit with my fiance and friends. None of us have a big sweet tooth so the crinkle cookies weren't our top favorites because they're on the sweeter side in our opinion, but still delicious and super beautiful! The coffee cookie had a nice strong coffee flavor but the regular pandan and ube cookies really stood out and made it into the top 3 favorites. THE SERVICE: Jenn was super responsive to my Yelp inquiry and texting and was able to put together a sample box for purchase on pretty short notice! I picked them up from their house. They had them ready for me right on time! After the tasting I mentioned there were slight changes we wanted to consider and Jenn was super supportive and open to making some small custom tweeks for us which I'm looking forward to trying soon! But even if there weren't any changes at all we're still so blown away by how tasty everything was and how great the whole experience has been!
