Finally got to try Mikey's food! Filipino food reimagined! We got the following: Lumpia smash burger: sauce was great, size of burger was good, and I really enjoyed the cheese crisp on it! Taco plate: we really enjoyed his green sauce on the tacos. I wish I could've got more or got some on the side as well. Tacos meat wasn't dry and it was very delicious. Banger Lumpia to me is like catching up with a childhood classmate who you haven't seen for a long time over a home cooked meal. Visited their pop up at a brewery. I really wanted to love this place-- but it wasn't a home run. Got the lumpia fries and the grilled dip. The lumpia was good but the mayo on top of the fries was lack luster. The grilled dip was tasty- but the dipping sauce was so tiny-- definitely needs more to be more birria like. Without-- it was a bit dry. I am unsure how to reply to the comment left but it was most definitely a beef grilled cheese with a beef broth with onion compote to dip in. I'm sorry if I got the name incorrect but that is what was served. Also, the fries absolutely were not tossed in sweet chili sauce. If it was it would have been more interesting than just fries with mayo and lumpia. Definitely can't say I'm mad about that lumpia burger. The fried wonton gives a good crispy to it and the flavors are spot on. They use the right buns that aren't dry but hold up just enough for you to hold the burger and eat it. My table both said it was very unique. But they're also Caucasian and I'm Chinese and I thought it tasted "normal". I thought the flavores married well. It's probably the soy sauce goes well with every meat! $12 for the burger a la Carte and I think it's appropriated priced for a food vendor. read more

Lucky enough to catch Banger Lumpia at Everywhere beer today and it was incredible. Fantastic handmade Lumpia and the Lumpia burger was so delicious. My husband had the chicken adobe sliders I snagged a bite of and I almost stole a whole one for myself. Hired Mike to come for a few hours and make Filipino-inspired tacos for our backyard engagement party. He was very communicative and considerate, reasonable with pricing and even came a bit early to make sure that he would be setup in time before the party started. The Filipino twist on tacos was awesome! Everyone really enjoyed them and we even had leftovers for people to take home. My only suggestion is it would be fun to have more than one sauce since each of the taco meats were really unique. :) read more

Had Banger Lumpia at a bar and loved their lumpia and sliders! I got the sinigang slider and chicken adobo slider and both were very tasty. We were at a brewery recently and came upon Banger Tacos who were setup outside. Tacos were good, but pricing was crazy. $15 for four small size street tacos is craziness no matter how good the tacos are. Sounds like they do a better job catering then they do as a pop-up. read more

I've had burritos from coast to coast and this is hands down one of the best burritos I have ever eaten. The flavors meld together so well and the burrito shell is thin enough that it compliments but doesn't dominate the taste. Can't recommend these guys enough! Multiple people that ordered food before us and after us were requesting refunds because it took so long. They have one cook with one pan cooking each meal individually. I had Banger Tacos cater my recent event, a company holiday party. Not only do they have the taco bar, but they have a great selection of Filipino finger food trays like lumpia, pancit, and BBQ skewers. Our group was a little smaller and didn't require the taco bar, so we went with the catering trays. In addition to being affordable and plentiful, the trays were a huge hit at the party. There were very few leftovers, and the person who ended up taking them home was extremely satisfied! We're already thinking ahead to the next event where we'll have Banger Tacos again! Mike is sooo friendly, easy to communicate with, responsive, and made the ordering and delivery process extremely easy. I'm looking forward to eating their food again soon!! History

Established in 2022.

Banger Tacos started off as a solution to serve tacos to the inline and roller skate communities at skate events at skateparks from LA - Orange County - San Diego. Banger is Filipino fusion made by first generation Filipino and pro inline skater chef Mike Obedoza. Taking the recipes from his mother of classic Filipino dishes from chicken adobo to beef Mechado, Mike delivers these flavorful meats and fuses it with american classics that will knock your socks off. Catering to the Orange County area, Banger provides known filipino favorites, Lumpia and fuses it into lumpia smash burgers.

Meet the Business Owner: Mike O.

Mike Obedoza began his culinary adventures with a restaurant management degree from Cal Poly Pomona and a culinary certificate from the Culinary Institute of America. After graduation Mike, went to the Philippines and took a deep dive learning the flavors that make up the cuisine where his parents are from. When he returned to the states, he began to fuse his motherland cuisine with his LA heritage and elevated common dishes. Excited to share, Mike and his inline skating friends began an event called First Sunday, a skate session at a different skatepark in Southern California, where he serves his culinary creations to his aggressive inline skating community.

You don't know what you're missing until you've had Nori!! My cousin celebrated her 30th birthday a week ago and surprised us with this delicious catering company at her party! Everything tastes so fresh and the protein to rice ratio was perfect! Usually I'll have a mouth full of rice, but this company is super generous with their protein! They also have a few side dishes that pair very well with these hand rolls. We all met Kevin and Abe and they were one of the most personable people I've ever met; both very humble men and very, very easy to talk to. What an amazing experience! If you ever want to hire a catering company for your next event, I 1000% recommend Nori. I'll definitely have them at my next one!

I tried to place a catering order during Thanksgiving week and wasn't able to because they were already fully booked. If they were closer, I'd come here at least twice a week to replenish my banchan fix. Nonetheless, I always go out of my way to return!
