This week were herbal tea samples! :))) Meet Fresh is a Twainese dessert chain focus on shaved ice with red bean soup desserts and boba. I stopped to try their matcha dessert along with a Hong Kong egg waffle, and both really hit the spot. The matcha latte was not overly sweet, with that slightly bitter, earthy taste you want from good matcha. That said, the Thai Ice tea is good but desserts feel a bit watered down compared to what I remembered. The base prices seem reasonable at first, but once you start adding toppings or upgrades, the total climbs quickly and can be a little shocking at checkout. The HK matcha egg waffle was fresh, warm, and had that perfect contrast: crispy on the outside and soft and airy on the inside. I heard so many good things about this place and especially how yummy their desserts were, so I finally decided to give it a try! Came here the other day to catch up with a friend and we both really enjoyed it. This spot is located inside an Asian market next to a dumpling place, and they had so many different desserts to choose from that I honestly couldn't decide I ended up playing it safe and got the bubble waffle with red bean filling. The waffle itself was really good.. crispy on the outside and soft inside. I just wish the red bean filling was a little more smooth and pasty instead of having whole beans, but it still tasted really good either way. My friend also got one of their pudding-style desserts and we both loved it because it wasn't overly sweet at all. Perfect balance of sweetness and super refreshing after eating. Went to Mama Lu's next door for dinner. We ordered Meetfresh using the big screen, I remember mine order number were 513 and 514. Got the order togo, we went home and found out that they missed one of my order. Trying to call them to let them know because I do not live close by, no answer. They missed my 2 sesame balls, that was the main reason why we ordered Meetfresh. I thought the balls would be inside the Double Taro bowl, but I found none. We're not happy at all. read more

This Meatfresh establishment is hidden within the grocery store entrance. The quickest and easiest method to order is through the self-serve kiosk in the far corner near the seating. This is efficient, but terrible placement as the self serve line get's backed up, blocking the entrance to the restroom and leaves people standing over guests who are sitting. The dessert was good here, as I ordered the red bean hot soup, but the service really lacked. From ordering and receiving my receipt to actually receiving the dessert, it took about 25 minutes. Pretty long, considering it wasn't very crowded. The staff was prioritizing to-go and online orders, which led them to have a ton of dessert sitting with no one picking them up, and all the dine-in guests waiting. read more

Got the brown sugar boba shaved ice that came with warm boba pearls, caramel pudding, vanilla ice cream, and red beans. Added an extra side of almond pudding too. Pretty much tastes like an icier version of a brown sugar milk tea drink itself. Was $14.95 for the large - $1 more than the medium. Very doable to share amongst 4 people. This place is located in a supermarket next to a dim sum spot. The service is quick and the ambiance is quick service. I was disappointed that they don't update their menu, I came here on the pre-notion that the mango and the mango berry shaved ice is there. It even shows on the menu. However, it is only seasonal. The egg waffle is decent. Pretty basic order. I ordered it with ice cream and they didn't out the ice cream in it. I thought they did. Regardless it was made fresh and fluffy. Our Mangoberry Shaved Ice was tasty and refreshing (I especially enjoyed the mango side); it was attractive in presentation, served in an deep square bowl; I love the large stainless steel spoons (unlike flimsy little plastic spoons that are provided at some other shaved ice locations I've visited)! Our thoughts are that the ice was less finely shaved than another shaved ice we've had. One of the negative reviews for Irvine's location was that order numbers weren't called out; while this is my 1st experience at Meet Fresh, I appreciated that order numbers were not only called out by automated announcements, but also one's order number is visually displayed in lights by their pick-up counter; it is hard to hear with neighboring Mama Lu's radio station playing loudly; I observed 2 tables' numbers repeatedly called out, but the guests, seated in the small seating area didn't hear; I -- on the other hand -- was paying attention! Interesting location, sharing space with a grocery store on one side and Mama Lu's Dumpling on the other. I'm glad that we were able to comfortably enjoy our dessert at a table. Quite disappointed because the traditional toppings for the tofu pudding are limited... there's really only red beans, taro balls, taro and boba. Peanut is not available at this location. They used to have mung beans and barley at the Irvine branch but no longer available. I asked for hot tofu pudding and it came out lukewarm. The egg waffle is just terrible. It's supposed to be a dessert but they call it soup, so we wonder if it's really a soup that's why it's not sweet? I like the almond with red beans and q mochi. The mochi had the perfect chewy texture. Almond jello was good. My brother-in-law liked his humongous mango milk shaved ice dessert and we were surprised how quickly he ate his while we were eating dinner (he already had dinner somewhere else when they came). Came on a sunday night before they closed an got my fave desert here with additional rice balls ofc. Omg! I've been to this location before and it was not that bad. BUT this time it was pretty bad. We came here on a Friday night and wanted to order this special series which wasn't even on the kiosk. So we had to order in line (even though they tell you to order on the kiosk - which is placed inconveniently at the door, to your right) We ended up waiting for 26 minutes for our dessert to come out. I heard another customer saying he's been waiting 40 minutes for his drink. It was apparent that everyone was upset! I've never had to wait that long. Placed into a split warehouse type with a grocery store and restaurant on the other side, it is a little unsuspecting. That doesn't mean the food isn't good, because it is. I love Meet Fresh but am always reluctant to go because up until today, the only location near me was at Diamond Jamboree which is an adventure all onto itself to just get a in and out of that plaza. Well step in this Tustin location. The hot red bean soup is one of my favorites. It is lightly sweet and so satisfying. Bits of taro enhances the experience. On this day, there was also a bogo for the month of February and I got to try their crystal mochi with red bean inside and the passion fruit ice cream ice cream I don't think Meet Fresh can make anything that tastes bad. Everything is very good! There is indoor seating to have long conversations and catch up with friends on life. Parking is plentiful. Service was good. Haven't been to Meet Fresh in AGESSSS so I was super excited to go here for dessert! Went with friends and most of us were already extremely full after dinner, so we just got a couple things to share. This location is inside a Mama Lu's Dumpling House which is a little weird LOL, but it was kept clean and there was still enough seating to fit 8 of us. Service didn't take too long but we were still digesting dinner and didn't mind the wait :) We ordered the Taro Mochi Milk Shaved Ice and the Icy Passion Fruit Sorbet Bowl Signature. I love any shaved ice dessert and these two options were sweet, creamy, and refreshing. Arrived during their soft opening (Saturday Sept 7). They're literally right next door to Mama Lu dumpling house. Once you enter, the right side has all the meet fresh decor. The shop is inside the super market so it's a small establishment but making these desserts doesn't take too much room. They're still in training mode, as I could see the staff training each other as they were making my order. I got the ice grass jelly signature. This is my go-to item that I always get at diamond jamboree Irvine. 10/10!!! The only downfall was that it took them a little while to make it (soft opening, training mode). But the dessert itself is delicious. Freaking love it. If you've never had grass jelly before, then keep in mind that it has an herbal taste to it. But it's this soft black jello that I love. We got our regular jelly with taro mochi on top but it didn't taste the same or as fresh as the Irvine location. I've been to many shaved iced places and I can say I loved this one. This spot is located inside an Asian supermarket. Right next to it is mama, lus, so you can get some dumplings and then meet fresh right after as a dessert. Parking in this area was really nice because it was an open plaza so there were a lot of parking spaces. The staff was nice and accommodating. I got a passion fruit shaved ice and it came with mini sago and boba. They had a lot of options but she could also build your own bowl.
