While troubleshooting my modem issues online I ended up "upgrading" my internet plan since my contract was up, but I managed to get the same price I was paying for another year without a contract and with a free modem and twice the internet speed. Score. (I wanted the 5 year price lock guarantee, but that wasn't available). I didn't want to deal with shipping a modem back and forth so I ran into the store to swap it out. It took like 30 seconds to return it, and then they got me the new one a minute or two later and I was on my way. Probably the least obnoxious Xfinity store experience I've had....hopefully next year when my price promo is up it won't be frustrating.

That customer was sitting at the only table with a C type charging cord. I was going to at least buy a charging cord and plug, but I found the whole experience so distasteful I just left. Well the fact is that this person was able to get through a Mother buying her daughter her first phone, then he dealt with a couple that he was trying to save money for but they said they absolutely "needed" the iPhone 16 Pro when they both had iPhone 15 pros. I love the fact that he said to them "you will be paying for your old phones while paying for your new phones" and he didn't seem at all like he was thinking what I was - which was "why? and what world are you in that you need the latest iPhone at all times"- but alas I am a curmudgeon when it comes to waste somewhat so that is my problem and the way he treated everyone was excellent! He didn't make them feel stupid for wanting the latest tech and he wasn't pushy - as a matter of fact the only thing he mentioned was that he just wanted to make sure they were aware that they would be raising their bill by X amount a month. Then it was my turn and he apologized profusely for having me wait - which I had expected - any time you go into a cell phone store I expect at least a 30 - 60 min wait time (unless it is a genius bar appointment - at which time you will wait over 11/2 hours (at least the one in old orchard)- and this is when I had an appointment lol. So yes go to this Verizon above all if you want to get a good deal and a sales associate who will get you it - you have found the right place.

I immediately drove back, expecting they would stand by their work. Instead, I was met with hostility. I was called a liar and a scammer simply for asking them to replace a screen that had clearly been installed improperly or was defective. They refused to take any responsibility or offer a replacement. After reading similar experiences on Yelp, I regret ever stepping foot in this store. The workmanship was poor, the screen quality was terrible, and the customer service was the worst I've experienced. Now I'm out over $200 and left with a useless phone. Save yourself the headache, take your business to an actual Apple store where you'll at least get quality parts and customer service. I will never return to Gadgetworks.

To make a long story short, the refurbished iPhone 12 that Asurion sent me on 5.13.2025 was defective, and although it took 3 trips to AT&T Skokie and another replacement being sent overnight to me by Asurion, AT&T Skokie helped me throughout the entire process, and by Friday 5.30.2025, I had a working iPhone again. (the 3 trips were in no way the fault of AT&T Skokie, it was due to the defective refurbished iPhone 12 that Asurion sent me on 5.13.2025) I want to give a shout-out and appreciation to both Gerardo and Byron. There knowledge and Customer Service was outstanding, and hopefully knock on wood all my iPhone issues are OK now, but if anything goes wrong again and/or it's time to buy a new phone, my first stop will definitely be AT&T in Skokie. If you Google GSM phone, depending on the wording, Popular electronics website is in the first twenty results. Fairly small store packed with tons of stuff like electronics, housewares and luggage. Almost anywhere on Devon ave in stores like these a person can get decent luggage for as low as $20 for a carryon to $30 for a larger clothing carrier. I've purchased luggage from here before and gotten good use from it. I know that this store and the electronics store next door is a good place to start your search for a multi region DVD player. That is it plays NTSC and Pal DVDs. Here I was able to find color display GSM phones for as low as $40 and the cheapest color phone with camera was a RAZR for around $70. The store attendant was a bit more helpful with trying to figure out the right wattage of converter to sell us, in comparison to the first place we visited. This store and the one next door are almost completely alike and for a time owned by the same owners or owners that were somewhat related. Crazy that they offer all the same things and between them you could negotiate completely different pricing. They know it too, but they try to keep your business.

But WHO would wanna waste 25% of the 600dollars just to tell them to reship the item! So when i called them again because the package was sent to Texas and im in California so i really didn't know what to do. I had to contact UPS myself and deal with the whole situation! Anyway, I would NEVER ever buy anything from that place ever again!!! If they're reading this; You guys suckass bigtime and need to get an attitude check while dealing with customers!!
