I was in Everett for a work trip and stumbled upon this place while waiting for my coworker to decide on a place to eat. Walked inside and I was happy to see that dogs were allowed inside and they were all just chilling out. I got myself a Double IPA and sat outside to enjoy the summer weather. I noticed that the other people that were outside were eating take out food from different places and I noticed a guy had ordered Jimmy John's as he picked up his food from the delivery driver. I thought this was awesome and made this place more versatile allowing anyone to just get what they want and come solely for the drinks. This might be a Washington thing but California you don't see this at all. The beer? Awesome. It was so good I came back here two more times for my weeklong work trip. Highly recommend. read more

Crucible now has 3 locations, but this is the original and the only one I have been to. The other two are on my to do list and have been since their opening. It's part of a 4 beer/cider places in the Everett mall area and shares a parking lot with Soundbite Cider. Plenty of parking, dog friendly, there used to be a cat, two bathrooms. Everyone that works here is great, knows a ton about beer and is happy to answer questions. They always have events going on, like Monday night themed trivia (Shawn is awesome) and often have a food truck available. They participate in pub crawls like the Ugly Sweater where you go to each place and get a stamp for the chance to win a prize. You are also welcome to bring your own food, there's a Vietnamese place right next store, or have something delivered, we often pickup snacks next door at Trader Joes and they sell a few snacks. Their outdoor area is the best of the breweries in this area as it includes my new must for covid life, fire tables, you can stay surprisingly warm if the governor is insisting you drink beer outside. They do awesome things like support Vets and have a great Veterans Day appreciation event. The beer list is extensive, there is always something new to try. They also make a rootbeer and usually have a ton of IPAs on tap. Beers come in a variety of sizes which is great for those who may just require a teeny bit more. Who doesn't love a bar with dogs?! There's even an adorable husky who will serenade you for food, it's like dinner and a show. The mood is laid back and casual. It looked like theres 5 or so fire pits outside but a few dont work so sit outside if you dont mind the slight chill . Or sit inside where they have plenty of screens and even a projector to play games. It seems like a fun spot to come back to on a game day. As for the beer it seemed pretty limited, but that was okay because they have some really good choices like the cider I had which surprisingly gave me a slight buzz with a 16 oz. When I saw this place on Yelp or said kid and dog friendly WOW I came with one kid one week night early and found a place to sit easily The beer was really good I got the blueberry !!! I can't say there was anything particularly outstanding here, but it served it's purpose when my wife and I stopped here after a hike with our dogs. The outdoor patio seating is interesting with a number of fire tables (it was 85 and sunny, so we did not test them), but it also is out in the front so there was a decent amount of foot traffic going through it. The pilsner I tried tasted like a pilsner, but my wife enjoyed the hard seltzer they had on tap quite a bit; it has no flavor out of the tap and you choose from a list of flavors for them to add to it. We may stop back if we're in the area again. read more

I love start-up businesses, even more so when they're breweries. Free parking can be found in the lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Food is not offered here; however, it is encouraged to bring in your own food to enjoy while slurping some tasty brews. There are several near-by areas to purchase food from. Free Wi-Fi is offered. The password is written on the wall. Nice touch! There are a couple TV's and one projection screen mounted on the walls. This brewery is family friendly and offers a variety of board games to play while drinking brews. Purse hooks have been mounted all along the bar area. What a nice feature! I hate setting my purse on the floor. Along with their own brew recipes, a couple local guest taps are also offered. I appreciate the willingness to support other local breweries. We purchased a logo-ed sweatshirt for $40. Absolutely love the Crucible logo. The owners were very friendly and enthusiastic about their brewery. Great craft brew spot in Everett. Thirteen of their own beers and one guest tap. I had a flight of six. Technically it was five, since I doubled up on what I guessed (correctly) my favorite would be. I started with a Blonde Ale called Big Booty Blonde. Light and tasty. Next was an IPA called Wootz. A solid American IPA. Next was the South Everett NE peach IPA. My least favorite, but if you like peaches you'll probably enjoy this one. I got two of the Flintlock NE IPA. This is an exciting IPA in the semi-hard to find New England style. It's excellent tasting with a manageable 6.6% and 60 IBU's. I finished the flight with a double IPA which didn't taste as strong as the 9% and 90 IBU indicated. All in all, a great experience. Drew had an excellent knowledge of the beers and gave great service to myself and the other 15 beer fans that are here. If you're in Everett and looking for a fun, relaxing place to taste some excellent beers, come to Crucible Brewing Company. read more

As of this writing, these guys have not even been open a year, but you'd never guess it. They have the taproom and the bar dialed up just how they want it, they have some other interesting stuff going on, and they're doing great stuff in the brewhouse already. If you haven't been in yet, you're already late. I know I was. They're in one of the many strip malls along Everett Mall Way. Actually, if there's anything along this street that is NOT in a strip mall, that's more noteworthy, so let's just say they're here--and you'll intuitively know what kind of construction houses them. There's a decent amount of parking, and there are quite a few places nearby where you can get your grubby mitts on decent takeout food. This matters, because you can bring outside food into CBC to have with your beer. Quite convenient. They have a little patio out front, with some tables made out of old oaken barrels. They added real tabletops, though, don't worry. Plenty of room for your grub, your pints, your naked lady playing cards, whatever you need a table for, there's room. They have plenty of big flatscreens on the wall, usually tuned to the game. There's a projection screen on one wall that's positively YUGE. They have music in the background, usually classic rock or 80s this n that. There's a booth or two, and some plush couch seating farther back. There's also a nice long bar with plenty of stools. Most interestingly, the space next door is a large open area with long tables, and there's a set of french doors leading to it. They host all kinds of events in there, some for all different kinds of clubs and groups, and others open to all comers. Pretty cool. This nice long bar was clearly built by people who wanted to be able to run it efficiently without having to drive themselves crazy--electrical outlets 12 feet up, retractable extension cords, lots of thoughtful touches. There's a thin sheet of metal for the bartop, and lots of nice wood everywhere else. It feels welcoming and still very businesslike. The staff here seem so young that they must be owning a brewery as part of a science fair for school or something, but, well, that just proves that I am old. They're such nice kids, too, and they really know what they're doing. They're quick to tell you that they have tons of experience (so maybe I am not the only one who thinks they look 12?). Everything here goes smoothly--clean glasses, good pours, nice beers, friendly service. They're ambitious, too. They're making lots of different kettle sours, and for all I know they might have real wild sours in the works for someday down the line, too. They have recently installed a proper cask beer engine--they're clearly serious about shipping a solidly varied lineup. From what I've tasted so far, they're more than holding their own. read more

Well...well! Since my last visit to Everett a new brewery sprung up-Crucible! As my readers probably already know by now exploring new breweries is something I love to go do! This brewery is located near the Everett Mall. I haven't gone to the mall but from my experience is that whenever you drive near the mall that congested traffic is practically guaranteed to be there. So by the time you get to the brewery you may REALLY need a drink. Especially if it's on a weekend! Anyway this was a fun place in regards to patrons, atmosphere and staff. I got the Northwest Pale Ale which was quite refreshing and Steve got a very fine pilsner beer! They look like they have a Raspberry Sour beer which I would love to give a go at but it wasn't on tap at the time we were there. Besides that it looks like they put out creative and innovative beers that warrant a return trip. Nice place! read more

Plenty more bite than your average pilsner. Very tasty. IPAs are also delicious, I'm told. Good food nearby and they welcome you bringing in anything you'd like to eat. A very cool extra is that they allow you to donate to their first responders fund, so they can provide beer on-the-house for healthcare workers. How awesome is that?! My favorite beer that I tried was the IPA. Fiance enjoyed the brown and my friend really enjoyed the pilsner. I normally liked DIPAs (and loved the name of theirs) but felt it was a little too bitter/grassy for me. The location was nice, dog friendly, family friendly. I enjoyed all the games and the seating arrangements. I do have to say that the employee named Dick is appropriately named. We came for the beer open house and were unaware it was $5 per person. He started off our interaction by interrupting me talking to my friend to tell me how I was wrong about what I was talking about. Then he was upset that I already had a punched card after only spending $8 on the sampler for 2. I hadn't even cashed out yet. He continued to scold us and the new employee who stamped our cards. For the next hour we watched him argue with people about how much $ they spent (Him "that's a $4 beer, you need to give me your punch card back." Her - "yes, it's a $4 beer but it's my second one"). He refused to cash me out until I came back for another beer but when I went to cash out he ignored me and served two other people who came up to the bar after me. I would not return because of him. EDIT: Dick reached out to me - I was very impressed. He was accountable to the situation, owned his behavior & apologized. I've had many people reach out to me over the years but never one so thoughtful and genuine. Thanks for the message! HOWEVER, Shawn was fabulous and totally turned the whole thing around. He came up to us and checked on our drinks, asked our opinions, offered a tour, learnt about us, offered to make room on our table for more game space, etc etc. We were debriefing our experience with Dick afterwards and when it came to Shawn we could not stop listing positive things - he was thoughtful, considerate, patient, friendly, curious, etc etc etc. It does not get better than Shawn. read more

Crucible is a chill and hang classy neighborhood bar that is in a safe environment. With many restaurants around and delivery options, the owners chose to concentrate on the brewing side of the business and left it up to you to bring your own food and oeu derves. Ample parking is available and you won't have a problem locating the suite, which is in plain sight of the Everett Mall Way. Bring a growler to get a fill up to go or purchase one with their really cool logo. I saw they had a Mug Club or membership for regulars but I didn't inquire. The owners hang around on certain days and times, making an honest effort to meet their clientele. This is a very unique feature because you can have an opportunity to shoot the breeze with the brewmasters too. ;) The place is family friendly. I really enjoy this brewery! I've been here a few times now (ok I'm becoming a regular to be quite honest) and they have great beer. They aren't just another IPA brewery which I love! Atmosphere: The bar is very casual, you will find all types of people here (after work crowd, families, young couples, etc.). The bar offers smaller tables, larger tables, a couch and bar seating. Plus it's dog friendly. Food: Pub snacks (pretzels, animal crackers and peanuts) are $0.25 for a bowl. It's a great little snack. Otherwise they offer a number of menus for other food close by. Everyone can deliver there! Beer: As I mentioned they don't just offer IPAs but they do have few IPAs if that's what you are looking for. They also have light beers, ambers, sour and stouts. Really a great selection for any beer drinkers. Short: Really a great local bar, with a lot of different offerings. It's dog and kid friendly. Nice brewery with good beers. They have quite a few beers on tap. I had the Helles lager which was light and crisp and a very good lager. They also had a good wheat on tap as well as a couple of IPAs. They have quite a bit of room and they were setting up for music as I was leaving. It seemed like a pretty busy spot. Fun, comfortable atmosphere that is family friendly - a rare accomplishment for a brewery. My husband and I went to try new brews and watch playoff baseball - both of which we were able to do perfectly. The beer was great, and they have a wide variety. It's so nice not having to go IPA or bust.... I had a Pink Drink Raspberry Sour and loved it! Every seat in the house has a view of a TV. The clientele is very friendly as well as the staff. You can tell it's a community brewery, with a welcoming atmosphere. Regulars and newcomers equally welcome to try new beers. I used to go to another bar but decided to give Crucible a try. Not disappointed at all. We go here after work quite often now and it's always fun. They have usual things like trivia, an amazing food truck called poke me and other events during the week. There is also a good amount of parking :) The beer is good and the sours are amazing. They will let you try something before you get it too which is really nice. The bartenders are always friendly, remember you and are sociable no matter how busy they are. Environment is awesome and there's always cute dogs there which is even better. Really enjoy this place, highly recommend. read more
