Cedar Plank Salmon
Christopher A.

Great location right off the pier. Great customer service. Cedar Plank Salmon. Filling, not a huge fan of the flavor. It was unique but not my for my taste buds. Grade 7/10. Overall grade 8/10 due to the customer service, great menu selection and location.

Scuttlebutt Taproom

Scuttlebutt Taproom is not to be confused with Scuttlebutt Pub/Restaurant. Both are the same business with different locations and offerings. If you're looking for dining then you're in the wrong location. Head to the restaurant on Craftsman Way. Free parking can be found on the street. Discover is an accepted form of payment. The Taproom doesn't serve food; however on Thursday's and Friday's Los Tamaahles is set-up outside. Outdoor food is also welcome. Happy Hour (pints) is offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday's from 2pm-6pm and on Saturday from 12pm-4pm. On Thursday's pints are $2.50. Indoors is industrial with heavy hop smells. Tables are long and meant to be shared with others. The brewery side has a foosball table and a corn hole toss. Bottled/canned beer can be purchased to take home as well as growlers. On our visit my wife and I were slurping on Adam's India Pale Lager for $2.50 each (Thursday's). We also each ordered a tamale from Los Tamaahles for $5 each. Absolutely the best tamale I have ever eaten. Overall, the Taproom is loud, crowded and basic. No frills. No young children or large families. Loved it and look forward to returning.

I also had the opportunity to enjoy some delicious jackfruit tacos from Los Tamaahles who are currently there on Thursdays.

Everything was great from start to finish. Great service, inviting ambiance, and a delicious meal…read more Definitely will be back!

If you're looking for a bar with bar food and not very good drinks I have the place. Pretty plain…read morevibe and bar look to it, nothing special. I can say we were all pretty disappointed in this place. The staff was the only positive that we took away from this experience. Both servers that we encountered were both kind and attentive. The drinks and food however totally missed the marks. We all started off with drinks 2 margaritas, a gin gimlet and a beer between the four of us. The margaritas were terrible, like I am not sure how they put them as a feature drink. They had zero jalapeños and also offered no spicy margarita whatsoever. My wife's gin gimlet tasted like straight up lime juice. All were complete misses. Next we moved on to the food where each couple ordered a dozen wings. The X's and O's( fries and onion rings) and we also ordered a wedge salad. The wedge salad came out and idk how it was marketed as wedge when it was a bowl of salad completely engulfed in dressing(closer to soup than salad). Next the fries and onion rings came out and I'm not usually a stickler for what things cost, but $17 for like 6 onion rings and a very sad plate of fries. We expected a bit more for what we ordered for the table. Lastly the wings. While the flavoring of the wings were good, they came out not too warm to the touch and biting into them they were cold on the inside. Concerned that we may get sick from uncooked meat they assured us that they were precooked and just dropped into the fryer to finish them off. To me it is concerning that though they were precooked and still missed on hearing them all way, you may need to have a chat with your kitchen. Both of the servers were on top of it and ran both dozens back to have our order recooked. Second time around they were hot and crispy with good flavor(although the garlic boom boom wings were missing one of the sauces the second time around). It didn't matter, we ate them and paid. Not sure we will put this on our revisit list. Maybe the burgers or flatbread were the way to go, but out of 3 menu items and even the drinks.... There needs to be much more effort to everything here...

Went to have a beer there yesterday and it was a great experience. The beer had an amazing flavor…read more It was Creamsicle flavor. The service was great as well. The young lady working there was very friendly, polite and had a smile. Sat outside it was nice. It's dog friendly which I like. Visiting family on the island thought I would try the Thirsty Crab Brewery. I will be recommending this place. Definitely will be going back before I head home. Every time I visit family here on Whidbey Island I will be going there for beer. I was able to visit before heading home. I would recommend Thirsty Crab Brewery to anyone that likes beer.

Well I will say right off the bat if you are trying to get here by GPS it is extremely misleading…read more You can see the business from the main road but you can't turn into the parking lot there. You need to go straight through an intersection just before the brewery, turn on a dirt road and then it will take you to the parking lot. Hopefully directions have been fixed since then by somebody but if not be patient in getting there. My phones were exhausted and running on empty so alas no pictures were taken here unfortunately. We still needed some GPS navigation to get in a homebound direction. There were a lot of good looking beer options here so what we did was get a taster flight which was a wise choice. Some of the beers we had that made up that was a Key Lime Lager which was great. It tasted similar to the dessert and was easily my favorite. Alpenglow was another, also a lager that was pleasant and refreshing. We continued with the unique brews of a Nettle beer, a mango lager and the May Bee Lager. We also got an order of some of their brats from the food truck here. Those weren't too bad, perhaps not the most authentic I have ever came across but enjoyable nonetheless and pairs well with the beers that they have available here. Fun brewery to go to and one that should be stopped at if you are visiting the breweries, cideries, meaderies or wineries on Whidby Island.
