My go-to people are Bryan for acrylics and Helen's daughter for manicures. Make sure to make an appointment.

They're good but deceiving & tricky with their prices.. they are overpriced and honestly when asking them prices they lied to me at first then told me original price afterwards giving me no choice but to pay. If they weren't sneaky about it, they would've gotten five stars. Poor characteristics to have in the customer service business. read more

Horrible place to go. They are dirty and never clean their tools. I had to tell one of them to clean it before and she did it in a bad mood too. F that! If I am paying for a service I expect it at least clean. Will never go there. This place is disgusting!! read more

I took my grandma to get her nails done, she just wanted something simple and right away the people in the front desk are rude and don't make us feel welcomed suddenly as they tell us to wait a customer comes in asking for more things she wants done ... MORE THINGS, MORE MONEY so we were skipped so Money Talks showing me they don't care about their customers about 40 minutes past we then get this woman after she finishes with another customers I see she doesn't Disaffect her tools just added water... I ask her "if they were disaffected", she said "Yes I put water on nail tool" I asked her if she could disaffect the tools right and giving us attitude This place needs alot of work ASAP if I could give it 0 stars I would UNHAPPY CUSTOMER read more

It was Sunday and my regular nail salon was closed. I needed a pedicure bad, I mean real bad, My toes were straight up Hammer Time. I saw this place in a little strip mail and thought why not. Wow, to my surprise the shop was actually really nice and clean. The people who own the place really take pride in the store. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and with in minutes I was in a nice leather chair with massage features on it. I wasn't asked to pick a color because they bring three color plates to you and you chose a color either by name or number. I thought that was a cool idea. I was looking and they do all types of cool thing with nails, including pink and white acrylics. glitter acrylics, tips with designs like Louie Vuitton and Coach themes, they can even put sand and sea shells inside the acrylics, I thought that was a cool idea. I haven't gotten my nails done there yet, but plan to in the near future. As for their pedi's they are awesome and they take their time with you. its not so rush, rush. The result is a quality job. I believe I paid $12 bucks which is a deal. Verdict: My place for Pedi's! read more

I had my nails done here on Saturday, they supposedly did a manicure but my cuticles are worse now then when I went in. There's dried acrylic breaking off the sides, the gel polish has bubbled. My friend had her nails done the same day. Her manicurist was super rude, he would constantly yank her arm. He had her get up to wash her hands, before she was done the guy had another person in her seat (mind you her purse and belongings were still in his station). It was all bad. It's a really clean place but their work is subpar. read more

U Need Nails - Love my nails thank you tony - Nail Salons Near Me - South Gate, California

Great nail spot! So far I have only had manicures at place but I love how they come out. My gel nail manicure's never chip! Even after I cut my nails. Amazing! It cost $20 but its worth it because it last me over a month before I start peeling my color off, not because of a chip, but because its outgrown lol. FYI, it gets packed so I suggest calling in an appointment. If you don't and they tell you to come back in an hour, come back in an hour. The head nail person (owner? manager?) knows what she's talking about! read more

I am really disappointed the way this place is going, I used to love coming here and going to Ryan or Tony. Today was the last day I will be going since they always cut me, and they always just brush it off even though I'm gushing blood. Most of the time I tell them slow down take your time DONT CUT ME! I know there is alot of people but today there was no one waiting and they somehow cut me twice! Please be careful ladies, because if they dont do anything about your nail bleeding it can become alot worse!!! I rather pay the extra $$$ for someone to take there time and actually talk to me rather then gossiping about people. And yes I understand there language, and you would be surprised what they say. So bye bye u need nails. read more

I came in Saturday after I called asking if they had time for a full set which they said yes. When I got there, there was no wait which was awesome but they only had time for a fill I guess and said the acrylics I had on were too old for gel or the chrome I wanted. So I had to settle for a fill and regular nail polish because I really needed to do something with my nails since my hair kept getting caught in them lol. The guy was super nice and friendly but the end result was horrendous. It was only 13 dollars so I was excited that it was that cheap but be warned, it was not even worth it. I definitely got what I paid for -_- No more than 5 minutes after I walked out, the clear top coat looked gross, my fill looks uneven and it was just a bad job all together. Plus, one of my nails is already coming off and it's only been 3 days. The salon is pretty and spacious but that's about it. read more

Fabulous service (need I say more) ...@xio I don't understand the discrepancies on how pricing was not stated to you when clearly a large pricing board is above the entrance kiosk..I have been coming here for more than 6+ years since u need nails was located in lynwood.I haven't meet anyone around my circle that go to this place and say a negative thing period. The people who work here are humble, honest and kind with welcoming attitudes and attributes. You get what you pay for and if your unsatisfied they try to make it right. Bryan is awesome I have been getting my nail gel manicure since they first introduced it to me here and haven't once not have it fabulous :) Brian is kind and adorable. He's always giving me suggestions on new trends for my nails.. Of course Andy the owner (as well as his fiancée) is wonderful however, other people that work there help to make the place feel warm and friendly.. If you are looking for customer service and good pricing for manicures and Pedicures this is the place for you...Brian you rock :) read more

There I was. A stranger in a strange land. Who happened to need a polish change. Yelp brought us together, U Need Nails. I was sold at your name, so direct, and suggestive. I met you in your home, an unassuming shopping center, it was Saturday morning, you were just minding your business. You fit me in for a quick polish change. FOUR DOLLAR POLISH CHANGE! Are you kidding me!? So cheap (at least compared to anywhere else in the US I've ever been.) You were efficient, friendly enough, seemed pretty clean and just what I was after. Minus one star because the swatch that I choose for my Cali-forn-i-a weekend color looked aqua on the board and closer to mint chocolate chip once it went one. I kind of doubt they were the same color. I wish I could bring your prices home with me. Thanks for the memories. read more

The one pro about this salon is their customer service is very good. Other than that, the quality is not that good here, not even for the price. When I went here, I got a mani pedi with an acrylic mani. The pedi was standard--or so I thought. They charged me $5 extra ($16 total) for "callus removal." They didn't tell me that I would be charged extra before hand, and they only did the front half of my feet. My heels are the same as they were before I came in. The acrylic mani was the biggest disappointment. The quality was poor, I can see the criss-cross striations of the sanding machine through the nail polish and the nails have obvious imperfections. I was very specific in my request, but it seemed the guy (albeit very friendly) was careless with my nails. In addition to this, I was charged extra for glitter detail that was done wrong. It was a little frustrating. I cannot compare this to other places in South Gate, but in general I was not impressed. You can get an excellent manicure for $10 more in upscale places around the city. read more

They are full of shit. They made my appointment and I come in and say I can't service you which I haven't been here for like 6 months. Why not tell me on the phone yesterday then making me waste my gas. Andy you full of shit and rude and your ppl that answer the phone are rude as fuck. read more

Probably more of a 4 star place in my book, BUT, the service was down to earth and they had several people that spoke English well. I am Asian but I only speak English, so this was a plus. Only gripe, their massage chairs require you to feed them money to use the massage action, and they don't have the pretty spa tub for your feet. However, it is probably more sanitary to use the plastic tub with the plastic bag in it to prevent germs and other foot nasties. I tried to go here awhile ago, but I didn't think they did the pink and white nails I wanted, so I squashed my plan to find a place near my home. Fast forward to this past weekend and I felt like coming back for a pedicure. They had some unique ghetto fab nail designs for reasonable prices. They even had dried bugs that you can have in your nails. Umm... Not sure who would want that, but I bet there is somebody that would dig that. I agree with Andrea M that they aren't very clear about how they price but it is still cheaper than other salons for the same quality. I am gonna try them again this coming week for a new set of pink and white nails. I even tried to convince the guy at the register to try out the new (at least to me) MINX nail trend with the metalics. If they do, then I know I will be able to get some friends to come with me next time. read more

Seriously the WORST NAIL SHOP I'VE EVER BEEN TO IN 20 YEARS!!!! I rejected my services and they could care less. My niece had a regular pedi and it lasted exactly 10 minutes!!! The receptionist is a total Americanized FOB who thinks she is working for some upscale salon in Beverly Hills. Hello? You're in South Gate!!! She has the worst attitude and the lady who did my nieces pedi is not only in a hurry but seems like she hates her job, her life and possibly herself. I'm starting to think that they must go to Vietnam and promise these women reputable careers and bring them here as slave workers. The women do not talk to you, are not friendly and look straight pissed off. Don't come here... you're better off doing your own mani and pedi... this place is garbage...talk about a waste of space read more

This place Is horrible!!!! I never leave negative reviews i feel it's a waste of time but I've had continuous bad experiences here to the point I have given up going here! There nail polishes are cheap will chip within hours gel is not suppose to chip that's why you pay $21 for it! And when you complain they talk shit about in their language roll their eyes at you and give you a even worse "fix". I have come here for 6 years even when they were in first location. Trust me do not come here!!! There is cheaper places that do a better job. Yelp nail places in south gate to find any better place than this. POLISHME BAR IN LYNWOOD IS EVEN BETTER OR FRIENDLY NAILS IN SOUTH GATE IN THE LUCKY SHOPPING CENTER. They don't charge extra for a spa pedicure and if they mess up they fix on the spot without complaining. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSE WHERE. DONT GIVE THEM YOUR HARD WORKING MONEY CUZ THEY DONT CARE ABOUT HOW YOUR NAILS LOOK AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE! Like I said I don't yelp much so I'm just trying to look out for you. It is definitely not worth your money! read more

RRecently came here, saw Andy. He did what i thought was fabulous full set.....until i left. The nails started popping off! 2 the first day(which i repaired else where) 1 the next and 2 the following day! So officially 3days after receiving s service i have led the equivalent in rep airs. I will NEVER return here! read more

I gave it a 3 as opposed to 1 because Tony is the man!! He is funny, easy going and does my nails beautifully. I was however very upset at one of their pedicurist, I believe her name is Cindy! I brought my friend in just this passed weekend, raving about U Need Nails, since I've never had an issue there. However the experience my friend received was far from acceptable. First and foremost Cindy had a very bad attitude from the moment my friend politely rejected the 20$ spa pedicure she DID NOT want or need. From that moment on, it went downhill. It was apparent that Cindy was upset, and to make a long story short... she hurt my friend's toe, didn't help her put on her sandal afterwards, so my friend messed up 2 of her toes and she didn't bother fixing it. She's got such a bad attitude and it needs to be addressed! read more

Really good service. The new owner is very kind . I recommend this place, they make my nails look perfect.

The times I been here some of the Asian ladies that work here are very RUDE. Worst nail salon ever. I noticed that some nail technician licenses were even expired. They don't sanitize their equipment, honestly I believe this salon should be shut down I've been here a couple times when my usual salon is closed and I hate it. I had my gel manicure done on Saturday evening. That same night, on one of my nails the gel polish was coming off and the next day I had the same problem with other nails! It was so frustrating. So I decided to pay another visit today. I let them know about my problem and with no questions asked they fixed the chipped gel polish for free. It was a relieve that I did not have to argue or deal with "you pay or go away!" I am glad they took responsibility. This made me feel like I could trust them and they definitely broke a stereotype. read more

I would not recommend this place to anybody! Down right rude... lacks everything! 1.) First time going there and my last! 2.) My mother asked the lady nicely to please change her color... the lady snatched the colors away from my mothers hands (basically telling my mother to shut up and stick to one color)! 3.) My mothers pedicure was a joke... the lady didn't even do her job right! 4.) The lady that did my pedicure and cut the side of my toes really bad! 5.) I'm dealing with a really bad pedicure and to top it off a really bad cut on my toe all because they were rushing to get us out because they were closing! If you want your toes to look great I wouldn't recommend this place. They are rude, not considerate, and down right unprofessional! read more

I've been here about 4 times now... The place is very clean, they do a fine job with nails I even gave them a shot at my eyebrows and didn't disappoint. Just like every salon you have to give them a blindfolded shot! The decor is very nice, plenty parking (I've had my share of frustrated parking lot visits at other salons) and friendly staff. The only downside to this salon is how packed it can get and the wait, I've probably never waited less than 30min! There is a small boutique a couple stores down though. I shop a little there while I wait ;) Great salon over all. Prices are decent. u neeed nails? Come here lol read more
