They accommodated my needs as a confused, nervous disabled first-time homeowner. "I've never owned a home before," is my mantra. I have cerebral palsy, which means I need ADA-compliant mobility aids in the bathroom and hallway. And bariatric, static-loadbearing fixtures that can withstand grueling daily use are hard enough for a chronically ill homeowner to find. But Geiner and Emilio found them, installed them, and adjusted everything to correct my mistakes throughout the renovation. They made my family very comfortable about the process from day one to the last. And they worked much harder than previous more expensive contractors did, without any of the problematic hidden "add-ons" other contractors tried to force on us. Once, they even rescued me from an extremely painful fall outside where no one else saw me stumble! The project started off very good. They removed carpet in three areas and replaced it with…read morehardwood flooring that matched our existing flooring. They did a very good job on this. You can't tell what was the old flooring and the new flooring. They also did a great job on the stairs (removed carpet and replace with oak steps. During the project the team was very good to work with. Their team moved our heavy items onto the garage which was very nice of them to do so. We also liked the way the taped off a sanded part of the floor and put 6 staining we picked out so we could see how each looked on the floor. this was a great help in determining which stain we liked most. Junior and team were great to work with and did a few extra things which ended up looking great. The team was very personable and professional. However, there were three main issues we had after the job was done and we had an opportunity to look closer at the quality of the staining and followup: 1) They didn't tape the baseboard to prevent stain or final coating from getting on the baseboard. There were many spots on the baseboard that had stain on it. I tried to wipe the stain off but it was on to stay. We had planned to have the interior painted next year but had to move that schedule up to right after the flooring was done so the baseboard liked nice. The paining company (Colorado Painting) did an excellent job and the baseboard looks great now. If you use Gold Hardwood flooring insist they tape the baseboard before staining. 2) They do not do a good job with corners. We have 5 corners that look bad because they didn't do a good job sanding and staining them (there were a few spots which were not corners where the stain didn't take but the majority of issues were corners). I understand corners require manual sanding and staining which is time consuming but these spots are not a quality finished product. These spots were originally fine looking before this job and now they don't look like a professional did the work. If you have Gold do your floors make sure you check all the corners before final payment. 3) We were told we could have them come out (within reason of course) if we found any issues. We called on an issue we found (bad staining not in a corner but in front of the fireplace) and they come out and tried to fix it but they couldn't because they said the wood wouldn't take a stain (they manually sanded the spot and re-stained but it didn't improve). This was odd because that spot looked fine before the job so the wood took the stain when the builders put the hardwood floor in. As you can imagine, we had to have everything out of the area being worked on. As we started to put things back we noticed many corners that didn't look good. I sent Gold an email (with pictures) asking them to come back and see what could be done with them. I did get one reply saying a picture with a stain dot was done by the painters and I replied that the painters didn't use stain. I also got a reply saying I would contacted on Monday to set up a time. This is now Thursday and I haven't heard anything from him. At this point, we'll probably just live with what it is. Thankfully many of the spots aren't in a high traffic area so they aren't easily seen by others.

I hired Leo Aceves dba Wow Wood Floors in October 2023. I was having a problem with my basement…read morefloor being uneven and wanting to redo my stairs. Leo said he could level my basement floor, install new flooring and redo my stairs. I really liked how the stairs turned out, and was wanting to redo another set of stairs. Floors and stairs were completed close to the end of December 2023. Within one week, the flooring started to buckle, I could feel it push down when I stepped on it, and it would raise back up when I stepped off. Leo came out twice to try and fix it, doing the least he could, and it still was not corrected. He stated he would probably have to remove that last portion that was installed, reinstall it, and that would cost him money. He also said I could pay for another 20 bags of leveler and that would fix the problem. He was really slow to respond to text messages, about two weeks each for the first couple of times he came out. I kept trying to contact him, he refused to answer phone calls or text messages, I found out he blocked my number. I sued him in January 2025 to get the floor fixed. We had to attend court ordered mediation. During that process, he and his lawyer saw a video of how the entire basement floor was uneven, buckling and snapping. He asked to fix the issue. I requested to get through the end of the school year with teaching and covering sporting events. He agreed. In June, I sent texts or emails, once a week for four weeks with no response. He finally responded in early July saying he could get me on the schedule at the beginning of September. I responded and asked him to get me on the schedule. I never received any response from Leo. I had a lawyer send a letter to him and his lawyer in August reminding him of them agreeing to fix the repairs during mediation. As of this review, he still has not responded. I have attached three photos of the unevenness of the floor. This is how my entire basement is today. Please consider this review when deciding if Leo Aceves dba Wow Wood Floors should complete your project. There is a possibility you could end up with problems that will not get resolved, will get no communication from Leo, and have to pay another company to fix your project.
