Leo and his team, restored my broken unsafe staircase! Came immediately when I called, did an evaluation of my broken stairs and showed me that it was very unsafe. Gave me a bid for the work to be done and a timeline to get it completed. He immediately put me to the top of his list because it was that unsafe. Worked tirelessly to insure that it was completed fast and was safe. The bid he gave me was equal to what other companies had given me, but he was concerned for the safety of my family and was willing to get on it immediately. The value and peace of mind he gave me made him my number one choice. He stuck by his bid and completed the project on time. I will use him again should I have any other flooring issues. read more

Wow Wood Floors - Staircase looking down - Flooring Near Me

I hired Leo Aceves dba Wow Wood Floors in October 2023. I was having a problem with my basement floor being uneven and wanting to redo my stairs. Leo said he could level my basement floor, install new flooring and redo my stairs. I really liked how the stairs turned out, and was wanting to redo another set of stairs. Floors and stairs were completed close to the end of December 2023. Within one week, the flooring started to buckle, I could feel it push down when I stepped on it, and it would raise back up when I stepped off. Leo came out twice to try and fix it, doing the least he could, and it still was not corrected. He stated he would probably have to remove that last portion that was installed, reinstall it, and that would cost him money. He also said I could pay for another 20 bags of leveler and that would fix the problem. He was really slow to respond to text messages, about two weeks each for the first couple of times he came out. I kept trying to contact him, he refused to answer phone calls or text messages, I found out he blocked my number. I sued him in January 2025 to get the floor fixed. We had to attend court ordered mediation. During that process, he and his lawyer saw a video of how the entire basement floor was uneven, buckling and snapping. He asked to fix the issue. I requested to get through the end of the school year with teaching and covering sporting events. He agreed. In June, I sent texts or emails, once a week for four weeks with no response. He finally responded in early July saying he could get me on the schedule at the beginning of September. I responded and asked him to get me on the schedule. I never received any response from Leo. I had a lawyer send a letter to him and his lawyer in August reminding him of them agreeing to fix the repairs during mediation. As of this review, he still has not responded. I have attached three photos of the unevenness of the floor. This is how my entire basement is today. Please consider this review when deciding if Leo Aceves dba Wow Wood Floors should complete your project. There is a possibility you could end up with problems that will not get resolved, will get no communication from Leo, and have to pay another company to fix your project. read more

Leo and team completed a full overlay of white oak, with a stunning dark satin in the main floor of my 1909 Victorian, as well as the stairwell with new treads for each. The work is beautiful and they were timely and professional to work with! I highly recommend these guys. read more

Leo is a super knowledgeable guy. Worked with my schedule and understood I needed things done quickly because I had a business trip coming up. The first round of work had some defects, Lego noticed right away and said he'll redo it right away. Honest guy with reasonable prices. He even gave me two bottles of wine as a give. Highly recommend! read more

Leo and crew were amazing! They accommodated our need for quick turn around but didn't compromise on the quality of the finished product whatsoever. Our white oak floors turned out beautifully! Carpet removal, installation, sanding, staining, and finishing all within one week. They also helped move heavier furniture. A delight to work with and reasonably priced. We will be using them again for our lower level read more

Received Wows info from a friend in my neighborhood and they didn't disappoint. They legit went above and beyond my expectations. Would recommend them to anyone. They were able to work around other contractors and my crazy schedule. read more

Hired Wow to install new hardwoods in our house. After install the stain was splotchy and discolored in areas. The re sanded the floors with and orbital sander and ruined them. The sanding was really uneven and in areas gouged and burnt. After when the sealed the floors there was considerable debris in the coating. We paid for new floors and ended up with what look like ten year old floors that need to be refinished again. We called, emailed, and texted Leo dozens of times. Sometimes he would respond and even acknowledged the floors were done poorly but over a year later he has not made any attempt to resolve and still won't return emails etc. I would avoid using Wow hardwoods if you want quality and professional service. read more

We had 2 different wood floor companies come out, measure, scratch their heads, then tell us they couldn't do the job because of our rounded staircase. So we started our research, came across Leo and saw pictures of his work which included something similar to what we were trying to accomplish. We crossed our fingers he could help. He came out to assess- he was very knowledgeable professional and sure he could help us. The final look of our new wood floors is amazing! His guys created a rounded infinity edge at the staircase. Something other companies said wasn't possible. We Couldn't be happier with the whole process-the guys worked hard, cleaned up every day, and had an incredible eye for detail. All at a very competitive price. Thank you Leo! read more

Wow flooring came and tied in and installed wood floor. However, their finishing is not of any quality, see attached pictures. The stain was not matched and left us with a very bad looking floor. We have called the owner multiple times without any resolution. In fact, the owner would be out of the country many times during the install. They also did our stairs and risers which keep falling off. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Out of all the wood flooring we have done they are the worst. read more

We hired Leo twice, once for refinishing and installing red oak floors, and the second time for installing tile on another floor. Leo was fantastic -- his work was superb, his prices were reasonable, and his responsiveness was quick. (AND he was willing to drive all the way to our house in Sedalia!) Highly recommend! read more

I had been burned in the past by a hardwood floor company that did a horrible job and charged way too much. These guys were a totally different story. They are best of the best! From the start I knew I was going to be taken care of. Leo and Brenen are very professional and really exceeded my expectations. They were fast and did excellent work. I cant be more happy with my floors and will recommend them to everyone! read more

As a contractor I often have clients ask me if I know other trades. I am often hesitant to refer new people as over time many have not given my clients the level of communication and quality work that I expect when I give their name out. As I have gotten to know Leo and his team I have had many opportunities to connect them with my clients. At first I was hesitant and made sure to check in regularly to make sure that the service that was provided was as I had promised. Leo has made it easy to refer them. Every time I follow up with my clients to whom I have referred WOW Wood Floors I have hear glowing feedback. I now actively look to make connections with my clients and WOW! read more

Leo worked with me while I was going through some construction projects in my new house. We had to reschedule a few times and he was helpful getting the job done. Although his communication was a little lacking, he even came to the house the last few days and finished any requests I had himself. The finished wood floors look great and his team did a fantastic job feathering in new wood to match the 60 year old floors that are in the house. It all looks great and you can't tell the difference between the new and old areas. read more

Scheduled a meeting for an estimate. They were supposed to come between 10AM - 11AM. I called in the morning to confirm the appointment. No answer, so I left a voicemail. I get a text around 8.30AM telling me they have me on their calendar and they'll be there by 10AM. 10:40 comes around and no one has showed up yet. I try calling and texting and no responds. They never showed up, never bothered to inform me that they can't honor the time anymore and no apologies. I actually tried giving them a call in the afternoon - again no one answered and I left a voicemail. Do not hire this company if you value your time! If they can't be bothered with showing up to a confirmed appointment I wouldn't even want to know how they perform their work. Terrible customer service. read more

I had a rather large job for Leo with only a week or two notice to start. Refinish floors in the entire house, cut wood registers into the floors to replace metal ones, and rebuild a handrail for the staircase. The floors needed a lot of love as they had some water damage, etc. from the prior owners. I could not be more happy with the work Leo's crew put into my house. They worked their butts off to finish prior to the deadline and the floors most likely look better than they did when they were new. Leo and his entire crew are the definition of professional. I would not hesitate to recommend Wow Wood Floors to anyone needing their services and I would rehire them in a second if I ever move and need my floors done again. This entire remodel has been trying... but the floors were not! Tears, of joy were shed when my wife saw the refinished floors! read more

Wow Wood Floors - Flooring Near Me

My husband and I researched numerous flooring companies before we decided on WOW. We had the hardwood floors refinished in our home and new hardwood installed on a rental property. Let's just say the name of this company is right on! First of all the owner, Leo, was very friendly, professional, and informative. I felt very comfortable with him and did not feel pressured at all. Secondly, the price was VERY reasonable! Some of the companies I called were gonna charge me a lot more than we paid with WOW. Thirdly, the finished floors in both houses was AMAZING!! I am absolutely delighted with the work done! I recommend WOW Wood Flooring to anyone wanting to get their floors done! read more

Leo and his team are fantastic! We got into a situation where another wood floor company left us hanging- we had damage done to our floors during a remodel and they "didn't want to assume responsibility." Leo responded to our desperate request for help quickly and after coming out to see our floors, and assured us that he would take care of the situation. Our floors are beautiful and restored to the condition we originally expected. The Wow Wood Floors team is a group of local folks who are professional, reasonable and very good at communicating with their customers. Leo made a tough situation manageable, and we will definitely use them in the future! read more

My husband and I had a pipe leak beneath our dining room, and fixing it left us with a sizable hole in our hardwood floor. Every other flooring company we spoke with wanted to rip out the entire floor and start over. Leo insisted that he could patch it and refinish the floors (at a considerable savings compared with the other quotes). The work took less than a week, the team was polite and easy to work with, and the floors look incredible. You would never know any of the planks were replaced; the patch is totally seamless. Leo was also able to connect us with an artisan to fabricate a custom steel railing to replace existing wrought iron. He definitely went above and beyond for us! The whole project looks incredible, and we are super happy with the work. I can't recommend Wow Wood Floors enough! read more

The gentleman who performed the actual work did a great job with the floors. Although, the owner is not reliable at all, he does not return phone messages, and mailbox is always full. While I was happy with the floors, the owner needs some help with customer service. read more

I was pretty disappointed with the work by Leo and crew. Let me start off by saying, the floors look fine for the most part. On to the rest: I hired Wow to come in an put in a new hardwood floor on diagonal subfloor, and refinish some other rooms. The refinishing was pretty good and the floors in those rooms look great, especially compared to what they used to look like. The team was into the house quickly, and was efficient about getting the hardwood laid down (though I discovered that maybe this is because they cut some corners, like getting the ends of the wood to seat against each other). Leo cut me a deal on the refinishing because he was already going to have his tools/vacuums/sanders on site, so that was nice. The new hardwood, however, is a bit disappointing. 1. There are a few spots with bent over nails that were hammered flat and now are unsightly metal spots in the cherry-stained floor. 2. The end-to-end joints have some gaps in them! They clearly tried to fill some of these gaps, but seriously...clean end-to-end joints of tongue and groove hardwood is hardwood floors 101. Now the filler has pulled back a bit and the brand new hardwood floors already has some gaps between ends of boards. 3. The surface of the finish started to produce small bubbles and get rough a day or two after they finished it. I didn't know what to make of it, so I did some research and apparently this is a common problem when pairing a stain that contains wax (like MinWax) with a finish like Bona. The wax starts to bubble out and makes a rough texture on what should be a clean, smooth floor. Seems like the pros should know how to pair the stain and finish; I was able to find this info in 5 minutes of Googling. 4. When removing a bi-fold door, they cracked the door pivot off, breaking the wood, and then just left the broken door in the back of the house and did not mention it to me, so I discovered it when trying to rehang the door. 5. They left a MASSIVE, full garbage bag (~50 lb.) of sanding dust and scrap hidden around in the side yard. What the heck, man? There is no reason that this bag should have been there to begin with (it's not between the door and trash, or door and street, or anywhere, it's an alcove between house and fence), so it really seems like they were lazy and hid the bag because they didn't want to take it with them. Super unprofessional. Leo was a nice dude, and responsive to phone and text (until after the job was complete when he disappeared and has not returned any texts, and as mentioned in other reviews, has a full voicemail inbox), and Damien the foreman was a super nice dude and seemed knowledgeable when we chatted about stain choice, so I was really bummed to have to write a bad review. I'd go with a different hardwood contractor if I had to do it again, even for more $$. read more

I can't say enough about how wonderful Leo and his crew are. They were always prompt and on time, did beautiful work and had a great attitude. He is amazing to work with - incredibly professional and genuinely caring (and their prices are excellent as well!). read more

I just got out of college and bought my first home. Needless to say it was a fixer upper. The old hard wood was absolutely destroyed. The previous owner had trashed the floors. We wanted to keep the hardwood, but we have dogs and didn't want to see the floors destroyed. After questioning whether hardwood was right for us or not, Leo recommended a high traffic finish to keep the scratches to a minimum. So far, our dogs nails haven't even put a scratch on our floors. Other than his knowledge Leo and his crew moved our furniture for us, so we didn't have to struggle figuring out where to put everything. They were amazingly friendly and efficient. When we have the money to get a deck built he will be the first person we turn to! read more
