I had Ty strip and refinish the floors in virtually my whole house and the results are beyond beautiful. Far better than I had even hoped for. I needed these done due to a prior contractor ruining my floors. Ty restored my faith in contractors. He was timely, organized, professional and meticulous. He had any and all varieties of equipment necessary to do quality work, and, to minimize the dust factor. He was conscientious and careful with my home and belongings throughout and cleaned up each day before he left. And the job was done exactly on time. I love my floors so much that I am having him back to do another area that I originally thought I was going to carpet. Again, I cannot recommend him highly enough. Thank you Ty!!

It was a huge job. He did such a great job, that when it came time to re-do the floors in our new house, I dug out my old computer files to figure out who I hired so I could hire him again. This guy and his company are 5 star all the way! He has great ideas, too. For example, on my first house I was going to put hardwood under my washer/dryer, and he cautioned me not to do so due to likely water damage. He laid tile instead, which also came out great. I can't say enough good things about Robinson Flooring.

Would highly recommend James, especially for older homes.

I had about 9 different brick estimates ranging from the guy who said, "uh...sure...I think I can do this," to the couple who just turned tail and ran away, to companies with price tags that were essentially the cost to build a new home. I did a lot of research and saw pics online of the work put out by Brick Specialists. What I got was even better. Honestly, everyone at Brick Specialists should be wearing capes when they show up at your house. They are heroes. I cannot give enough kudos. First of all, James is the ULTIMATE professional. He is soft-spoken, kind, accommodating and really knows his stuff. The price point was great (not the cheapest, but in this case it's worth it to pay a little more). Beyond that, the work was impeccable. The guys working on the house were so talented, matching mortar, brick type and color with some really antiquated original brick, and fast. Other contractors on site were astonished at the talent of these guys. People walking down the street would stop to comment or give hugs (yes, this happened more than once). You cannot go wrong by hiring this great group of guys!

I was slightly hesitant to use a company that didn't have much of an internet presence, however I know that homegrown businesses are generally cheaper because they have less overhead. I sent Luis a message here on Yelp and he responded relatively quickly with an estimate (which he stuck to even with some slight modifications to the project during the work). Few days later and he was here with his crew on a Saturday and ready to roll. The project took them a few hours, and Luis had to make a couple trips to Home Depot during the job. The entire time they were here, they were very professional and respectful of my property. They used wood and metal to cover up the pipes, and everything was measured perfectly, and his "finisher" came to the house to repaint them to match the textured paint on the existing basement wall. I have to say it came out looking better than I could have imagined. They cleaned up after themselves pretty well and Luis was very nice to talk to. I wouldn't hesitate to use Luis again for a construction job. He does quality work and stuck to his initial estimate.

And I called one other company for a second bid. David showed up in time for our appointment, and his explanation of the problem (80 year old mortar in our brick house was falling out). The previous owner had gotten some of it repaired. That mortar was failing, too. I was particularly concerned because one pillar that carries a heavy load was cracked so badly (see photo) that you could see daylight through it from top to bottom. David explained why it had failed, and how the repair work someone had done years ago made matters worse. His bid that was about the same price as the other firm, but his explanation -- and the bid itself -- were so clear that D. Masonry was my obvious choice. He provided me with proof of insurance, too, a request the other company ignored. They lived up to my high expectations. Watching them work, I realized that tuck pointing is a highly skilled craft, practically an art form. They took the time to mix and try a range of mortar colors. With their help, we selected the one they advised. Now that the new mortar has completely dried, I can see it is a perfect color match. The pillar I was so nervous about? They elaborately jacked up and stabilized things, so they could remove the pillar, which they disassembled completely, laying out all the bricks (with all the old mortar removed), so they could put them back exactly as they were, only sturdy now, and good as new. Masonry repairs -- done well -- simply disappear when the work is done, right? As long as I own this house, my gratitude for this job-well-done will live on.

I've given approximate measurement of said space, thinking maybe our project is too small for your company, asking that you please let us know either way. Again, nothing. I work in the customer service industry, which, granted, isn't technically what you are, and I am willing to give a long leash to companies for being too busy and not GETTING this part of the whole communication process...to a point. But at this point you just seem like you don't care about the money or are too lazy or anti-social to give a simple yes/no response. I hired Leo Aceves dba Wow Wood Floors in October 2023. I was having a problem with my basement…read morefloor being uneven and wanting to redo my stairs. Leo said he could level my basement floor, install new flooring and redo my stairs. I really liked how the stairs turned out, and was wanting to redo another set of stairs. Floors and stairs were completed close to the end of December 2023. Within one week, the flooring started to buckle, I could feel it push down when I stepped on it, and it would raise back up when I stepped off. Leo came out twice to try and fix it, doing the least he could, and it still was not corrected. He stated he would probably have to remove that last portion that was installed, reinstall it, and that would cost him money. He also said I could pay for another 20 bags of leveler and that would fix the problem. He was really slow to respond to text messages, about two weeks each for the first couple of times he came out. I kept trying to contact him, he refused to answer phone calls or text messages, I found out he blocked my number. I sued him in January 2025 to get the floor fixed. We had to attend court ordered mediation. During that process, he and his lawyer saw a video of how the entire basement floor was uneven, buckling and snapping. He asked to fix the issue. I requested to get through the end of the school year with teaching and covering sporting events. He agreed. In June, I sent texts or emails, once a week for four weeks with no response. He finally responded in early July saying he could get me on the schedule at the beginning of September. I responded and asked him to get me on the schedule. I never received any response from Leo. I had a lawyer send a letter to him and his lawyer in August reminding him of them agreeing to fix the repairs during mediation. As of this review, he still has not responded. I have attached three photos of the unevenness of the floor. This is how my entire basement is today. Please consider this review when deciding if Leo Aceves dba Wow Wood Floors should complete your project. There is a possibility you could end up with problems that will not get resolved, will get no communication from Leo, and have to pay another company to fix your project.
