I first tried Two Hands in Austin, so I was super excited to see a location opening walking distance from me in Denver. Some things that I have tried and really enjoyed: Burger - delicious and comes with crispy fries Brassicas salad - a hearty salad and their eggs are cooked perfectly every time Harissa Chicken bowl - a generous portion of chicken Chicken schnitzel roll - a generous portion as well with very crispy breading I will need to come in to try some more brunch and dinner items sometime! This was such a breath of fresh air after having been hiking and in smaller towns in beautiful Colorado. This place is not ready for prime time. The hostess ended up saying the meal was on the house, which is generous and taking accountability, but I'd much rather pay for a good experience and enjoy myself. The place was packed and very loud. Some tables had cloth napkins and some paper. The staff either isn't experienced or just opened without figuring things out and having a good manager at the helm. We were seated 20 minutes late, and we weren't the only ones waiting. They brought us a dessert to start off, kinda strange. In these situations just say you'll cover the apps or first round of drinks. The service didn't improve. Our waitress was very nice, but didn't check in. Our entrees came out while we only had time to take a few bits of the appetizers. We sent them back, only to have them come out right as we were finishing our apps. I hate being rushed, and I like breaks between. The food: Hummus: was pretty good, although a bit too much lemon, but I know that's a preference. The veggies it was served with looked like something I may give animals on a farm. There's rustic and then there was this. The pita chip was moist and not crunchy and there was also focaccia. How about some good old fashioned fresh pita bread. The fritters were inedible. They were overcooked on the outside and guywy and heavy inside. Fritters should be light and melt in your mouth. The schnitzel was the best part, it was moist inside, nice portion, well done. The salad on top was a bit hard to eat and the sauce with it didn't come together for me. I prefer fresh lemon for me to use. The burger looked like fast food, mushy bun, two overcooked thin patties and terrible fries. Two Hands had a beautiful place, very modern, but I feel like it has a bit of an identity crisis. Nothing really felt Australian to me. They sat us in the back room in a row of three or four tables, and no one else was in the space, so it was really loud and we were all right next to each other, trying to have private conversations but it was impossible. I liked the noodle dish, did not love the salmon toast. Overall, I think Two Hands needs to figure out who it is, and what it wants. read more

Came here on a mid week stop for a quick breakfast. I saw this on an influencers page so thought I would try it. I sat at the bar and ordered a lavender latte and a standard breakfast of eggs,bacon, toast, There was maybe 2 tables total in there. It took my breakfast close to over 15 mins to come out. The bartender deeply apologized for the wait and it came out shortly after. She took care of me but if you are in a hurry this probably isn't your spot. Wow, I am impressed with the ambiance, presentation, and the food. Staff were very friendly too. I will comment that the service seems more international where they will leave you alone and let you enjoy your food. So don't expect a quick in and out. I went for brunch with a group of friends. We had a starter including a waffle which was heavenly and some spicy fries which actually went well with syrup from our waffle. I went with sides as my meal due to my egg sensitivity, but the rest of the group shared avocado toast with a poached egg, that breakfast sandwich, and a scramble. It all looked amazing and they ate everything. The restaurant is infant friendly with high chairs and a changing table in one of the restrooms. Like most businesses on Tennyson, you need to find street parking. Please note that they have some rules on splitting checks and add on 5% living wage for their staff. It's noted on the menu and website. Otherwise, this is a great addition to the Berkeley neighborhood. read more

Had to check out this new neighborhood spot just down the street on Tennyson. Love the bright space which is well decorated and welcoming. We grabbed seats at the bar and Levi served us - he was in from their Nashville location. I got the chicken schnitzel and my partner had the burger. The food was decent but the drinks were absolutely the star of the meal - very unique and extremely delicious. We'll come back for brunch. read more

My local friend chose Two Hands as it takes reservations for brunch, a rarity in Denver apparently. We were shown to our seats quickly and our server took our drink order soon after that. It took a long time for her to return and take our meal order and much longer to receive our food. We sat for nearly an hour before we received our food. My breakfast burrito was tasty, but nothing extraordinary. The jalapeños were all on one end of it and not evenly distributed at all. I enjoyed my matcha the best. My friend said her smoothie was very watery and was best described as a pressed juice rather than a smoothie. The table next to us received quick service as they received their food at the same that we did and they got there much later than us. When the bill came the server asked if we'd like to pay separately to which we said sure, but she didn't split it so I'm not sure why she bothered to ask. read more

Super cute inside here! I definitely wasn't expecting that when I saw it from the outside. The seasonal scramble was really good! I loved the pesto & greens it came with! Really wanted to like this place, but it was extremely underwhelming. Ordered steak and eggs, steak medium rare and the eggs sunny side up. Unfortunately everything was overcooked. Overcooking eggs is one of my biggest pet peeves. Egg came out hard and the steak was well done. Server added additional entree onto our bill (pretty sure this was a mistake, no worries!) so when we had left and reviewed the bill later to split with our group, we saw the additional entree. Originally called back and asked to get removed, which it was but then upon further review, manager ADDED an additional drink ($16) to the bill... Very difficult to get a person on the phone, left a message and also sent in contact form thru website and have not hear back. Really disappointed in this shady practice. read more

I'm so confused by the reviews praising the service. We didn't even get to try the food because we were ignored by the staff and didn't get seated. We came for breakfast. It was moderately busy - nothing crazy. Two people that walked in before us were seated immediately. We waited and waited before anyone said anything at all to us. After we requested a table for 2, we were told it would be a minute even though we could see multiple clean tables. And then we waited and waited some more. Staff passed by us without acknowledging us or our wait or giving us an update. We left bewildered. read more

Food and service were mostly very good, but I won't be returning because of the 5% "back of house fee" added to the bill, which made for a considerable (and unplanned for) upcharge to our already sizable bill. It's simple, Two Hands: if your workers aren't making enough, pay them more. Don't gouge customers with a surprise tacked-on fee. I know this kind of a thing is spreading like kudzu in Denver dining, but in most places I've seen it's 2-3%. Here's it's 5%. Ridiculous.One of the drinks we ordered took 15 minutes to arrive -- so what, do I need to negotiate it down since it's starting at 5%? Restaurants like Two Hands are going to learn the hard way about stuff like this -- people will stop coming, and they'll continue shutting their doors. Fraudulent business. Came here with a large group and the restaurant originally charged us for an extra entree. We called to have it removed but then upon inspecting the bill again they ADDED a drink. Was this intentional? I'm not sure, but they messed up our bill twice and it is so difficult to get a hold of someone to correct it. Completely unacceptable customer experience. This is theft. I will NOT be coming back and would recommend people take their business elsewhere. read more

On a not very busy looking Wednesday morning we sat around for almost 45 minutes before we were able to order. Once our food arrived it was below average at best. Eggs and avocado toast were heavy on chili paste. Açaí bowl was way over priced, seasonal fruit consisted of old blue berry's and strawberry's and the peanut butter was a $2 add on. I am still optimistic and excited about two hands. In reflecting on our experience over the weekend, it really came down to to things. One was that the avocado on my avocado toast was not ripe and therefore kind of ruined the whole thing. It also could have used a little seasoning. The bacon on the side however is something where dreams come from. The smokiness was to die for. I also got a strawberry matcha which was perfection. My friends meals were just ok as well, but the drinks were delic. Ultimately the noise level is problematic. Even in the corner table, scrunched together so we could hear, we had trouble. The back room, while stunning, has wood paneling on the ceiling and walls that doesn't allow for sound to absorb. Unfortunately I think they will need to add some sound tiles on the woodwork to mitigate the sound. We will be back in a few months. read more

I dropped in for dinner on a Wednesday night and had an amazing meal. I wish I had taken pictures of everything. Our waitress recommended the grilled market fish--it was perfectly prepared and delicious. Our table also ordered the burger and steak au poivre, and all were a hit. I've also come once for brunch. It's noisy as any popular brunch place would be, and I am not faulting them since it was expected. The acai bowl was good, but the lemon poppyseed waffle was the star of the show. We had a great experience at Two Hands. I would highly recommend the Carrots and Brussels sprout!! The carrots had so much flavor and were our favorite dish. I was really disappointed with the pork belly croquettes!! felt like there wasn't much flavor and the texture was mush. I would highly recommend the peri peri chicken! so many great flavors!!! we were visiting from out of town, and this spot was hands down one of my favorite places we ate at. we came for brunch on a weekday so there was no wait (yay!). the hostess was very friendly and sweet, and patient with us. it was hard to choose something from the menu since it all sounded so good, but we settled on the steak & eggs (not pictured), the brassica's salad, and shared the banana walnut bread with espresso mascarpone. the bread came out first, and we tried so hard not to eat it all before our mains arrived! the bread was moist and easily my favorite thing i ate the entire trip. the mascarpone is a bit rich, but very decadent, thick and creamy. great espresso flavor as well. the brassica's salad was fresh and crunchy without being too chewy. and the 6 minute egg was the perfect addition. i would move here just for the banana walnut bread, and try everything on the menu. cannot wait to come back! read more

The food on the restaurant week was fine, nothing to go back to the restaurant for, which is a huge missed opportunity. The broccolini was not charred, as it says in the description, the sauces were overly salted while the food was a little bland on its own,.. I suppose that makes sense when they're paired together, but I disagree with that thought, if that's the intention. The chicken was dry and needed a lot more sauce to compensate. The pesto pasta was pretty good - not a ton of meat options. The desserts hit the nail on the head! I've actually never had a pavlova and you e made me wanting to seek out more. Super dense brownie and delicious. Didn't taste any of the miso tho - another missed opportunity. The cocktails were creative enough, nice job. We added the burrata to the experience and that was hands down, the best thing we had. Mixed with eggplant and a lot of red colored oil. Watch the to-go boxes tho, ALL the grease will seep through in a matter of 15 min. Happened to all three to-go boxes. Service was fine, nothing special and we kind of felt like she forgot about us. Lastly, they made us sign on an electronic device, which doesn't highlight a 5% service charge. This really irks me. No matter who it goes to, I don't like my hand led. I was really excited for this place to open but my experience was not good and I probably won't be back. I got the smash burger and it was charred, black, not good. Although my friends got the pasta and that was good. They only had 3 beers and 2 of them were bad. I'm guessing the owners are not local and don't understand our beer culture here. So I ordered a vodka & sprite. The server informed me they don't have sprite. He seemed a bit green, so I said whatever lemon/lime type of soda you have will be fine. He then informed me they don't have any soda. Now let's talk about the bill. There were 4 of us. When we 1st sat down we asked if he could do separate checks. He said no but at the end he could split between cards. Ok, that was fine with us. 3 of us used to be servers (20 years ago). So he gives us the bill and we figure out the amounts ourselves. Person 1 owes x$, person 2 owes x$, etc. We do this because some of us are drinking cocktails, some beer and some just water. When we hand it to him with our credit cards, he says "oh no, I can't do different amounts, I can just take 4 credit cards and divide the tab by 4. Or you can give me one credit card and your friends can Zelle you". This kid is holding a Toast handheld that 90% of restaurants in Denver are currently using. Every other restaurant can separate checks or enter different amounts. And the 3 of us who were servers 20 years ago and were working on Positouch, we all knew how to separate checks and enter different credit card amounts. This place is way too boogie for me! read more
