Two Chicks has been a part of the Reno community for ages, starting with the infamous GourMelt truck way back when. After a few breakfast visits at the South Reno location, I can say it's a good breakfast and brunch spot, but maybe doesn't live up to the hype of other Reno breakfast institutions. We ordered our coffees, the breakfast special, and a kids combo. Service was fast and waitress was friendly. We were seated quickly. Decor here is nice and interesting. It's a huge restaurant with a ton of tables and I am sure it can be tough to manage at times. The food came out and we enjoyed our sliders. A bit under seasoned but a creative dish. The kids combo was great though the pancake was a bit tough. Great amount of food for two toddlers. I always enjoy the sides here, often more than I enjoy the main dish. The home fries are great and the parm hash browns are nice, but occasionally lack parm flavor. A few of the grilled cheeses are still made very similarly to when they were made on the food truck and they are the shining star. Overall, Two Chicks is a great choice, but lacks the refinement of some other breakfast options, especially for the price. read more

Right off the bat we noticed really great service at 2 Chicks South. Everyone was kind and helpful. The restaurant is bright and decorated well. Only a 10" wait on a busy Saturday morning, so we felt lucky. I would give the food a solid 3-3.5. I had a delicious pork chop with eggs and sweet potato home fries. The home fries needed to be cooked longer. My Ramos Fizz wasn't good. It didn't even taste like a Ramos Fizz. That was a disappointment, as it's my fave breakfast drink. Mr B got the chille relleno omelet. He was impressed with his hash browns, but the omelet didn't appeal to him. Personal taste. Two Chicks South is a popular restaurant, and I can see why. read more

Two Chicks is a Reno original and it's one of my favorite brunch restaurants. I tend to order savory egg dishes but sometimes I can't resist their grilled cheese sandwiches like the croque madam. On my most recent visit, I tried the breakfast poutine. The fries were hot and crispy and held up to the gravy and eggs. As always, our service was friendly and table visits were well timed for drink refills. This place is really popular, especially on the weekends. You can expect a wait to get seated even though the dining room is really large. read more

You really can't go wrong here. The staff is always so nice and on top of their game (and they are always busy). The food is always fresh , good and good amounts. And some of the best coffee says my fiancee..lol.. I'm not a big cold butter fan..i like my butter cooked on bread ,not cold spread but they have seasonal butter that changes and its always so good.. the flavors are always just right and not too powerful. I actually look forward to having toast and butter.. I had the Rise and shine sandwich..a breakfast sandwich.. bacon, eggs, cheddar cheese on great basin icky breaf.. it was so good.. the bread was toasted just right and their bacon is not too thin or thick. Good quality bacon.. it normally comes with cream cheese but I requested that off... most definitely going to get again. My fiancee had their special omelet that had bacon,mushroom and fresh rosemary.. it was very tasty. You got hit with the rosemary at first but it wasnt too powerful as well.. After years of going to the two chicks midtown location, we moved closer to the south location and now frequent this one often. I've loved two chicks ever since I moved to reno for school. They have great menu options, kind staff, okay pricing, a fantastic rewards system, and are just an overall great way to start your day. They are pretty much always busy, so on weekends plan on making a reservation or waiting a bit. I have to note they have the best waitlist, my favorite in Reno, as it shows your place in line, how manny minutes you've waited, as well as the size of the parties ahead of you so you can really estimate your wait. They also have a side chicks at each location, so you can walk up and order cocktails without even having a table. Pricier, but helps a wait some days. Our food was delicious as always. I like to get the vegan skillet, and add vegan patties and regular eggs. I always get this because it's a great blend of vegetables, potatoes, and egg. The two vegan patties were around $6/7 dollars, more than meat and enough to buy a whole bag at the store, so I really wish those were lower. I also love adding the Buford's green salsa at the table. The toast comes with house made fruit butter which is always amazing. My boyfriend got the huevos rancheros and added diced chicken. It was a wonderful mix of flavors. We also split a half order of the almond poppyseed french toast. I've been eyeing this one for a while and it did not disappoint. I highly recommend it. Lastly, I want to point out how incredible their hot lattes were. We've tried iced before and they were pretty good, but the hot lattes we got this day were outstanding. Overall this location is just as great as the first, which is a high standard. Maybe even better with the bigger space. We finally made it to Two Chick's (South) for breakfast. Honestly the long lines usually deter us, but not today. We made it in between crowds. We walked in and I saw signs everywhere saying "best bloody mary" so I had to try one. I agree, it's tied for 1st place in Reno in my opinion. We ordered the Goumelt Bene and Sicilian Omelet and both were a home run! Their home fries are made with sweet potatoes which were a yummy little twist. Where do i start??? Let's start with the food first. It was amazing! I have to say that they have the country Bene down to perfection. It was some of the best buttery soft biscuits drenched in gravy I've tasted. The Red Chick scramble is another must. It was very tasty. I suggest you also try the poutine. The green chilaquiles were alright. And the chorizo omelette was good too. I like that everything is shareable. Service is outstanding, from the hostess to the waiter. Not far from Atlantis Casino 2CS has a loud red and yellow interior that's a tad headache inducing but all in all, has a nice homey American breakfast vibe. They pretty much offer standard American breakfast here. I had the Salmon Benedict and it came with parmesan hash browns, a tiny orange wedge. Not really memorable. The coffee reminds me doughnut shop style coffee: you know, like the complimentary coffee your work offers you in the break room. Not that great. We came to have breakfast and we ended up with a bad breath nightmare. I spoke to one of the workers about our waitress having horrible breath and nothing was done about it. First time in my life I have ever been so disgusted I couldn't eat my meal. I feel sorry for everyone who was subjected to that ladies breath. I'm very disappointed that none of her coworkers didn't help her by informing her of the situation. If I ever come back and see this lady I will walk back out and spend my money elsewhere. read more

All around incredible every single time! The food is always very fresh and perfectly cooked. The flavors are an absolute knockout and the butter today was Blueberry! They do change it weekly I believe, but all butter flavors are a must try!And I REALLY love their coffee, it is by our locally owned Wood-Fired Coffee Roasters. You absolutely have to be sure to try their house made coffee/tea syrups too, my favorite is Lavender. They also have a variety of milk and non-dairy options and a walk-up coffee window outside (mostly open on weekends) which is genius! The dining areas are very spacious so that no one will ever feel crowded and it is always clean, and well organized. And lastly but not least, are the staff who are nothing less than egg-ceptional (lol see what I did there). Every person we have ever interacted with has been so wonderful, helpful, accommodating, and personable. We have loved and supported Two Chick's since the Gourmelt food truck days when they only had their grilled cheese and melted dessert sandwiches. My personal favorite is the Bumblebrie melt and of course, the Fluffernutter. Both are without a doubt phenomenal. Came on a holiday. Super packed. Could not find parking, had to park by the other side of the motel. Our wait time was about 25 min. Place was clean and the server was good. She came to check on us at least 4 times to make sure things were good. The sandwich and tomato soup was good, just didn't come out quite as hot as I thought it would be. The Parmesan cheese and garlic fries were really good. My wife said the poppy seed French toast was just okay, for some reason she kept tasting something sour and didn't know what it was. Strange greeting. I walked in and the hostess was holding silverware. She said she would be right with me. A lady came in to pick up an order Togo. The hostess, I asked her if she wanted plasticware. The girl said yes. Hostess moseyed over to another counter, picked up a bag and handed it to the lady. And then commenced to restock The plastic wire bin. Finally she came back to me and asked how she could help me... I told her it would be nice if I could get some lunch... She picked up a menu and walked into the room on the right. as slow as could be, told me my server would be with me. More and more I just get the feeling that some of these workers here believe that we are here for them. It's just so strange. How hard is it to have a friendly greeting, and make the customer a priority over rolling silverware or stocking plasticware? I mean it's only 1 PM. Still have an hour of service left. The waitress was really friendly. Her name was Ree or Rhi (sorry I don't know the spelling). When the breakfast arrived, I realized I forgot to ask for no chili powder. Most restaurants sprinkle paprika, this place does chili powder... But it didn't matter because I had to send it back as it was poached hard. Not one bit of runny yolk. I guess when you come here after 1 PM, they're too busy about cleaning up, stocking stuff rather than getting Good service and food. One of the managers did come to over the table and check on the food. Friendliness, Manager check up, I did give this a three star. When the check arrived, there was a 25% discount. So unexpected. Two Chicks South is hands down the place to go for a grilled cheese of any style. It is an adorably decorated restaurant. The servers have always been cheerful. Their coffee was really good and we found on the menu that it is Wood-Fire Roasted which is a local Reno company. We also noticed local collabs with Folk Kombucha and Great Basin Brewery. The only reason I have 4 stars instead of 5 is because a lot of the items on the menu are more buttery/greasy which isn't my go-to breakfast style, but that's expected for a grilled cheese place. read more

Hard to believe that in this day and age when you call a place trying to place an order for several hundred dollars you end up getting yelled at but that's what just happened to me this morning. After going on their website and seeing that their catering requires 48 hours notice I decided giving the restaurant a call anyways to see if I could order several orders of biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and chocolate chip pancakes. I asked to speak to a manager there was none available so I spoke to a man who at first seemed nice and courteous. He told me that they couldn't do catering but they could package up whatever I ordered anyway I wanted cause I figured since I'm ordering just 5 to 10 sides of each of those items they could just package them together to reduce waste and also make it easier to carry out. I explicitly stated to both he and the girl who transferred me to him before hand that I was interested in five orders of biscuits and gravy, five orders of pancakes, and five orders of scrambled eggs. He then suggested that that might not be enough so I decided to increase the quantity to 12 each. For some reason after I repeated exactly what I was interested in once we agreed on the number. He decided to get loud with me and tell me that he's not gonna do that and that they're too busy and that this is why catering requires notice when I tried to explain well I thought you just said that you could do whatever I wanted in terms of sides and package them together. He yelled and said that was before I started adding crazy stuff like biscuits and gravy. The guy literally yelling at me on the phone so I had to hang up in his face. I don't know how stressful working at this place must be for him to immediately get that upset and overreact or whether the word biscuits and gravy is just a trigger for him. Either way, I do want management to know that he cost the restaurant a large order this morning. It wasn't a complicated order. It would literally just be 12 short stacks of chocolate chip pancakes, 12 side, orders of scrambled eggs, and 12 orders of biscuits and gravy. No toast, no potatoes none of that. Literally just large quantities of those sides packaged in large containers. I was also providing 3.5 hours notice because I would be picking up at 10 AM which is likely when their breakfast rush isn't as crazy on a Thursday morning. So to whomever is reading this, please tread carefully when discussing biscuits and gravy with this man because he seems to be one breakfast phone order away from completely losing it read more

Two Chicks is such a classic breakfast/brunch spot. I am so glad they have two locations! Even though this one has a huge parking lot and the restaurant is much bigger, it does fill up if you don't come early. We came around 8:30am on a Sunday, and when we were leaving around mid morning, it was packed! People were waiting to be seated too. Our server was attentive and nice. My friend ordered the Breakfast Poutine, which looked great, I might try that at my next visit! I had one of my "go-to's" the Biscuits and Gravy. I have been to the Midtown location a few times, but the first time here. Sunday brunch with friends, six of us. It was about a 20 minute wait for a table that size. The south location seems a lot bigger than the Midtown location. Besides the usual brunch mimosas and bloody Mary's, there were some unique cocktails that paired pretty good with breakfast. I went with a chai white Russian. A delicious spin on chai and one of my favorite cocktails. There's many choices of eggs Benedict, and the not so hungry can order a single instead of getting the usual two pieces. I really enjoyed the side of Parmesan has browns- just the right cheese and crispness. Various sandwiches and other breakfast options are on the menu. So funny story--we originally came to Two Chicks thinking it was a chicken joint but quickly realized it's actually a breakfast/brunch spot. We decided to come back another time, and I'm glad we did! We came on a Sunday around 11 AM and planned to get takeout. The place was packed (which is always a good sign), and we overheard the hostess saying there was a 35-minute wait for dine-in. The interior is super cute--bright, clean, and welcoming with lots of seating. We ordered the egg whites with Parmesan hashbrowns and sourdough toast, plus the chicken fried steak. Both meals were prepped really well and traveled great. The egg whites were fluffy and flavorful, and the Parmesan hashbrowns? Amazing. I'd never had them before but now I'm hooked. The chicken fried steak was seasoned perfectly and cooked just right. The only letdown was that it didn't come with gravy, which we were expecting--but it was still really tasty on its own. Also, I asked for condiments and didn't get any jelly for the toast, though they did include a mango butter that was a nice surprise. All in all, great food, friendly vibe, and even with the small misses, I'd definitely come back--maybe next time we'll dine in and try more of the menu. read more

Wow my father is looking at real estate in the area and I hope he buys here because this place is so incredibly tasty. Firstly the mimosas are great they are not the type of restaurant that uses the supercheap champagne that taste, flat and sweet. This is crisp and brut And if you get the pancakes, make sure to ask for the peach butter that comes with a biscuit because it is tremendously amazing on the pancakes. I was grateful that one of the staff members suggested I get this particular type of butter for my pancake. The burger has avocado and a fried egg, which is one of my favorite recruitments. Excellent Angus and french fries are so on point garlic and Parmesan with some type of cucumber side dip. The Benedict was cooked well, and my husband scramble was delicious. We will definitely be back. One of the best things about this restaurant is, you won't find a sour face on any of the staff. If you have no idea what you want but in the foodie mood for a good brunch, Two Chicks is one of those names that random folks on the Reno street would tell you to go give a try.
