Bf and I came here for breakfast before a long road trip, as recommended by family. I think they handle CDC regulations well, and am glad we got to sit outside. We went out to breakfast but didn't realize it was a used shoe store. We had pork chop and eggs, however the pork chop could not be distinguished from old shoe leather. Our server was inattentive, i watched her talking to coworkers in the bar area our entire time there while I had to flag down bussers and others to help with drink orders and water refills. I watched 3 tables who sat/ordered after us get served their food before us, and when I asked about our food our server gave no apology for the long delay it had been. This place is always packed so plan ahead if you're coming on a busy day such as a weekend or holiday. They have valet parking but they go home really early. For example my friend and I were eating there the other day and about noon the valet came wandering around the restaurant to give him his keys back, didn't ask for the ticket or anything so that was bizarre and a bit concerning. There's plenty of street parking on Center street behind the restaurant. Luckily there are lots of shops to explore while waiting. The food here is decent and they have a ton of options which is good for big groups. There are a number of vegetarian options. The worst part of this place is their service. The last time I was there was on a busy Saturday so I understand it gets crazy. However my food came and my eggs were cooked wrong, I got the wrong side, and my toast was cold. Honestly I wasn't even sure if it was my meal at first but I just ate it after waiting 5 minutes to get our waitress' attention. Nice little spot. I really liked the decor and idea of the place. The bloody Mary's are excellent and I heard from someone in my party that had a cider mimosa it was outstanding. My other companion said the tomato soup was amazing and he insisted on taking leftovers home, we live 4 hours away but he wasn't leaving his soup behind. My other buddy had breakfast, ham eggs etc. She was unhappy with the ham that was visibly overcooked. My biscuits and gravy also seemed overdone. We had to get on the road and didn't care to express our concerns but with 2 out of 4 people having near full plates at the end of their meal should be a sign. If I lived in the area I would be willing to try again. I believe in second chances. Some restaurants just have an off day. Again I liked the concept and story behind this restaurant. Came in for breakfast around 8 a.m. on a Monday and the place was a little less than half full. Probably because of the day and time, there were quite a few parking spots open out front so that was nice. As soon as I walked in, I noticed a sign that said to seat myself so I decided to pick the booth at the end. All the booths but that one was taken (these booths were pretty comfy so no wonder it was so popular). Just as I sat myself down, a server immediately brought out a menu and the utensils. Such fast service! My friend came about a minute after and the server also immediately brought out a menu and utensil set for them. We also got our water pretty quickly and it was constantly refilled so we never really went without any, which was great! Everything on the menu seemed delicious but eventually I went with my go-to breakfast item, which is the Eggs Benedict ($10.99). I opted for the sweet potato home fries instead of the hash browns because it sounded much more unique. I definitely did not regret my choice! I loved how the sweetness of the sweet potatoes balanced out with the rest of the items it was cooked with so it was the perfect combination of sweet and savoury. The Eggs Benedicts were also delicious! The eggs were perfectly poached and the hollandaise sauce wasn't overpowering. I remember coming here some time last year and ordering the same item with the English muffin substituted with the veggie fritter so it's great how there are so many available substitutions for a single dish. This way even people with a variety of backgrounds/lifestyles/diets can all still enjoy the same dish, just with a slight modification. Overall, this was a great breakfast joint! I would definitely recommend it! And while you're there you should definitely try their delicious sweet potato home fries! Because of the delicious food, it gave me enough energy and power to tackle one of my finals that I had right after breakfast. TL;DR: Great breakfast joint. Great service.
