I was ready to give this place three stars until it was time for dessert. This is what you need to know - "Blue Fence" Special. It's a $25.00 three-course prix fixe served every Monday to Saturday between the hours of 6-7pm only. You choose along the same items within the regular menu, but among those indicated with an asterix. Like any three-course prix fixe, you have an appie, an entree, and dessert. UNLIKE any 3-course prixe fixe, you have full-size servings of each item. No samplers, teasers or tasting menu portions here that are handed on a separate one-page menu in a large-font printout to make up for the miniscule portion of what's to arrive. No, sir. Twisted Fork is the real deal. And I'm talking about fall-off-the-bone braised Lamb Shank. I'm talking about perfectly pan seared BC Halibut. But let's not get ahead of ourselves with the main entree, or as they call it the "Big Forks." Let's back up a little bit and introduce ourselves to the "Small Forks" with excellent technical execution of Gruyere and Onion Tart. Or how about those moist and tasty Escargot that are perfectly cooked. But amidst all this, something was wrong. The taste. And that's what we have to talk about. It's not bad. It just falls flat. And I say this with much love and concern. IMO, the escargot really doesn't need to be in tomato basil sauce because it just drowns out the main ingredient. I want to taste the subtlety of the snails in simple garlic, olive oil and butter sauce. The Halibut is perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper, but it can also use a hint of lime or at least a wedge of it on the plate. The lamb shank was smothered in black pepper sauce which was smart because you won't need mint. But I would have also liked to taste another kind of herb and spice somewhere along the way in the same plate. So at this point I was thinking three stars. And then I reached the "Sweet Forks" portion. There was no more asterix here. You get to choose anything from the dessert menu. And then I took one bite. WOW! I felt like I wasn't in the same restaurant at all. Again, full-size dessert portions. Again, execution and presentation was perfect. But then...my taste buds woke up. The Caramel Napolean was out of this world - three almond tuilles layered with caramel mousse in between, then topped with maple ice cream. WTF! As if that was the highlight. The Lemon Tart in just the right amount of tartness served with house made sour cream formed into a wedge and surrounded by candied orange peel. GET OUTTA HERE! No way were the desserts purchased elsewhere. No way their busy kitchen could make dessert this good without having an in-house pastry chef in a small bistro like this. So we asked. The chef is a pastry chef! Now it all came together. I'm definitely giving this another shot. I'm coming back for more. And if the pastry chef cum chef can work out the taste for the Small Forks and Big Forks portion, Twisted Fork will be one hell of a twisted ride. read more

Stop reading this and go to Twisted Fork right now! Brunch: Make sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before they open so as to avoid a wait (there are only about ten or twelve tables inside). Once inside, the tough task will be to select only one thing to order off the brunch menu. I ordered the fruit salad with the asiago scones. The fruit salad was typical, but the vanilla yogurt was a nice touch. The scones, on the other hand, were out of this world. They were quite possibly (and surprisingly) one of the best things I had ever had the pleasure of eating. My friend ordered the baked eggs and gruyere and basically licked her plate clean. Mr. T ordered the eggs benny, which I sampled, and kept sampling. Avocado as the filler was really good, and the ingredients were well-balanced, incredibly fresh and just perfect! Also, they offered interesting/atypical brunch cocktails. Dinner: We had such an amazing brunch experience that we decided to come back for dinner the next night. Although we had a great dining experience (again), I have to say that brunch was a tad better. So if confronted with the option of either/or, I recommend coming for brunch instead. We decided to order smaller plates and share everything. The frites were OK - pass it up. Mushroom puff pastry was divine - flaky and gooey and interesting all around (cognac and chipotle?!?). Smoked tomatoe tart was good, but there was something off about it. I liked the carmelized onions, but there may have been so much that the rest of the dish didn't stand a chance. Beet salad - amazing! Dessert: caramel napolean - sad to say, but this was the one disappointment for me. I think it may have been due to the fact that I expected a traditional napolean with a caramel twist, but this one was deconstructed, and flavors didn't really gel well either. (http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=xfrRKuHXbvz7J_dShdsTHw&select=swd4ire9yZitH7NpumLEsA) The berry semifreddo, on the other hand, was the perfect palate cleanser - sweet but light and airy, with just the right amount of tart blueberry. (http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=xfrRKuHXbvz7J_dShdsTHw&select=RZJv5QPd6aUq2WeZ-RE6PA) I highly recommend Twisted Fork, and will gladly return when in Vancouver again. read more

Great breakfast! When we go on Sunday we always make sure to get there early so we're seated in the first group. Otherwise, I'd recommend 40 min or so after they open to get in for the second seating. The eggs Benny (lots of choices) are awesome, frittata & french toast are good. Great coffee and scones are a must if you love bread product as much as I do - Yummers! And they make their own jams and sauces from scratch. The service is efficient, friendly and great at what they do. Prices are reasonable. I love that they enforce their policies, ie: if your entire party is not there they will not seat you. Eclectic, funky decor. Relaxed and helpful staff. Don't forget the scones. :) read more

I don't know why, but I was in a mood to give a bad review for something today but the Twisted Fork robbed me of that. I'd probably opt for a 3.5 if Yelp allowed but this place does earn its place as one of Vancouver's top brunch places, and at least some of the hype and it all comes down to food. If I were to judge by the food alone that was set in front of my, this place gets my highest marks. The banana French toast was fantastic, as was the fritatta. What is more is that I still had food envy for people on either side of us! The portions were large, complex, and flavourful,.. not diner food at all,.. sort of hipster gourmet for lack of a better term. So I know what you are thinking,.. if he was going to give it a 3.5 service must be bad (as some reviews suggest). That just isn't the case, genuine, pleasant, efficient service was all I witnessed. My lower marks comes from a combo of 3 things and only together does it make somewhere like Cafe Medina seem like the local winner for me. 1 - Price. I think the food here commands easily $12 a plate,. but $14.50 for brunch is just a bit beyond my threshold. 2 - Setting. I applaud the choice of location here. Granville street is an odd place to have "good" food so I cannot knock taking that risk but for some reason I thought the room would be more experiential vibe. Don't get me wrong, it has exposed wood and curated decor,.. but it was just a more dingy than I expected. 3 - Flies. Not flying but on the artwork over my wife's head. I thought initially it was part of the art until I also saw them on the surrounding wall but dead fruit flies were stuck to the wall and noone had noticed to clean them off,... quite a few and it sort of tainted the experience. I should have said something. read more

Heard so much about the brunch that we had to go for Father's Day. Well, it did not disappoint and neither did the line to get in! We got there fifteen minutes before it opened and there was already a long line up. Fortunately, we got a table. After that, you'd have to wait at least an hour. in fact, it took an hour before food arrived on our table. Seemed others got it quicker. Didn't entirely mind because it's a real pleasant atmosphere. So, the food. We tried three items: Banana French Toast, Benny with ham and the Croque Monsieur. Huge portions and delicious. You have to like brioche because that's all they use. It was good, but my wife is not such a brioche fan. Still, she liked it. The French toast was stuffed with banana and came with a blob of vanilla whipped cream and REAL maple syrup. Hurray! It was sublime. A Croque Monsieur usually comes with the egg on top, but this one was inside. On top is better, but this was still amazing with cheese oozing out (see the picture). The Benny was also great. Tons of ham. Coffee was off the French Press variety, which I don't prefer, but it was still good and nice to have a big pot of it at the table to top up when you want. They also refill it for free. Considering the crowd, service was delightful and charming, if a bit slow. Still, worth it. This place is fab! read more

The food here was fantastic, I had the eggs Benny with ham and my wife had the scramble. The guys cooking behind the counter were really cool and they were hustling the whole time. I'd say we got our food within 10-15 minutes of ordering and they were busy. This place is pretty popular and it's very small inside so allow yourself about a 30 minute wait just in case. Oh and be sure to try their ketchup, it's made in house and it's very good. They even sell it by the jar. read more

I was extremely excited to come here, after hearing that their brunches were pretty great. On a Sunday morning my boyfriend and I put our names down, and waited an expected 45 min. Once we arrived we were starving and eager to try something good! But we had a pretty upsetting start..... In the span of about 8 minutes we were asked about FIVE TIMES by 3 waiters if we were ready to order. Our main waitress came up 3 of those times. I mean give us a few minutes will you?!? And she obviously knew how much time she had given us, but still came up regardless of how busy we looked, staring at the menu. We were extremely annoyed by this... I barely had the chance to read through all the menu items with all the interruptions. We went for the smoked salmon eggs benny and frittata, just because they sounded like the safest bets off the bat. Please, if the owner reads this review, ask your staff to give at least 5 minutes of silence to your customers. The food came out quickly, and it was delicious. My eggs benny was incredible, and the frittata surprisingly very tasty. We enjoyed our meals and were very satisfied with our food experience, regardless of our annoying service. read more

Creative, compelling menu. Always changing, so get it now or miss out. We came for brunch and returned the next day to try the dessert! It was a worthwhile adventure. BRUNCH here over dinner. Came here for a dinner awhile ago... it was good but not amazingly memorable... but brunch however... is something my taste buds will probably never forget. Banana stuffed brioche french toast = YES. It is as FABULOUS as everyone says it is. If you love banana and you love french toast, you have NO excuse but to order this. The edges of the crust were crispy and quite crunchy for those of you who are a fan of crust. The middle was a warm, sweet, gooey banana food-gasm. Topped with deliciously thick and fresh whipping cream with a side of fresh strawberries and syrup... there is no better way to start your morning. The portion is HUGE so unless you have a big appetite, be ready to share (even though you probably won't want to :P) My friends ordered the savory eggs benny with smoked salmon and chicken and I heard no complaints from them. I find it unique that they use brioche for their dishes... it adds that French twist to their food! Our 45 minute wait turned out only to be about 25 minutes which was a delightful surprise! It is sooo worth the wait. I overheard a group of people, after being informed of the 1 hour wait for their party who then decided to go elsewhere... I wanted to shake my head at them and tell them they were going to be MISSING OUT. Next time I definitely want to try their bottomless french press... seriously?! Free refills?! Does it get better than that?! Staff was friendly, service was timely and yes the price is right! read more

Maybe I am missing something or am too picky but I was very unimpressed with the Banana Stuffed Brioche French Toast everyone raves about. Took over 50 minutes to arrive after ordering and it was dry and fairly bland. I love french toast and when I saw they used Brioche Bread and read the reviews, I was anxious to check it out. Not sure if it was just a bad version of what is typically great, but it wasn't close to 'epic' as the waitress claimed. It looked great on the plate but for me wasn't worth the hype and even gave one piece to my friend to finish (and not because I was full). Could have just been overcooked. My friends Asparagus Scrambled Eggs apparently was reasonably good. I can't comment other than reiterating. Service was friendly but a bit disconnected to reality. When we asked if the food was coming after over 50 minutes she said "has it been awhile?". Not "oh I will check for you" or something else that didn't question the validity of our question. In my opinion, breakfast/brunch on a Saturday morning should not take over 50 minutes to arrive after ordering especially after waiting in line. Based on other reviews here, it seems to be a common occurance. 40 to 50 mins to get a seat maybe but not to cook french toast that is apparently their specialty. If the French Toast was as epic as the claims, I would have given them 4 out of 5 stars and wouldn't have cared about the wait. My read is if you are not as picky about French Toast as I am and don't mind taking 1.5 to 2 hours to eat breakfast, check it out. Otherwise, order something else or check out another place. Their dinner menu looks appealing. Will give it another shot and update the review after checking out dinner. read more

Twisted Fork - Eggs Benny with Ham! The Baked Beans were amazing!!!! - French Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

I came here a number of times, experience varied. But my last experience made me don't want to come back. I tried different savory brunch items: Chorizo Benny was very plausible, my favorite. Their egg omelet was not really flattering though. The charming atmosphere kept bringing me back to explore more, until my last disappointing dinning experience with a couple friends here. The beef tenderlion I ordered was very burned on both side. Not only both side were completely black, there was a stincky smell from the burn the moment it was presented to me. My friend ordered exactly same thing, median rare like mine, and it was clearly not burned, so I requested the waitress for change before I touched food. The waitress was nice and brought the food to the cook. However, she came back said the cook suggested this was how it suppose to be. The cook explained the spice they use on the beef suppose to create burns. That's really unprofessional for the cook to excuse the burn as how it suppose to be!!! No grill should make both side peach black, with or without spices! I didn't feel like argue more as the dinner was meant to be a pleasant celebration with my friends. I cut out the outside, but the sauce was all soaked in the burning taste. I only eat the middle part and some vegetable, but barely touched the smashed potato as it's mixed with the bitter stinky taste. What a spoiler! If a restaurant can't keep their standard in food quality and flavor they offered, and even explain things away when the food is clearly spoiled, I just don't think it's worth of going back. read more

I've heard LOTS of good things about Twisted Fork for their brunch so I decided to give them a visit this Easter weekend. Firstly, they don't take reservations so either get there early or closer to the end of the brunch time (3pm). They do allow you to leave your name and you can stroll around until a table is ready for you, in which they will notify you via text. All brunch items were $15.50 now and I settled to get the Eggs Benny with smoked salmon. The poach on the eggs were PERFECT (which surprisingly not a lot of brunch places can nail). The baked beans had a hint of spice and the hash browns were done uniquely under a bed of spinach. The flavours were all good but nothing that mind blowing. The overall atmosphere was nice though. I loved the cushioned seating areas with the pillows. Makes it a really cozy environment. The service from the waiter was very subpar and me & my friends felt very rushed by the waiter to leave. So I probably won't be visiting again...but if I do, I'd give the Banana stuffed brioche french toast a shot ;) read more

After reading some Yelp reviews and the suggestions from friends, I decided I should finally venture the wait for a chance to have brunch at Twisted Fork. It was an awesome sunny day to line-up at 11:30 but the 26 minutes chatting with my friends went by fast. Service was friendly and we received our food in about 15mins. We had to order the widely talked about banana-stuffed french toast and the eggs Benedict (with smoke salmon). Both of them were delicious!!! (notice the triple !!!) The only down side was the hard and dry crusts, but then again I'm not a crusty kind of girl. Also, the very highly-praised food reviews put this place on a pretty high pedestal, so I guess I was expecting something out of this universe. Other than that, perfectly poached eggs with a creamy hollandaise sauce and smokey salmon made my day very satisfying. And the few bites I stole from my friend's french toast was the banana on top. read more

Maybe my expectations were too high after hearing all the rave reviews for brunch. We got up early on a Saturday morning so we could avoid the line up. We started off with some French press coffee, and then contemplated on what we wanted to have. The French toast was one of the key items to try here, but we were both just not really feeling it. I then got the bacon, caramelized onion and brie frittata filled with potato and fresh basil, served with fresh greens and sweet corn relish. This was such a large portion! It was so delicious, light fluffy eggs enveloping the goodness of the bacon. The brie layer at the top made it even better. I could only finish half of it though. There was very minimal service throughout our whole meal, with us having to ask for more water and coffee. Food also took a bit longer than usual to arrive. All in all, I would come again but would not wait in line for it. The atmosphere here is just better at night. read more

First of all, this little gem can be hard to find on Granville. We literally drove on Granville 3-4 times before finally spotting the FORK. We came in and thought you would have to wait uber long for a table, but luckily there was 3 open spots at the bar. SCORE. Sat down and ordered some coffee. They serve arabica coffee in a french press. Totally delicious. After inhaling some deliciousness, we ordered. I went with the smoked salmon benny, my mom went for the ham and avocado benny, and my sister went with the gruyere baked eggs. OH MY GEEZ... one of the best meals I ever had. The food came out fairly quickly and it looked so good, I didn't want to touch it. BUT OF COURSE I DID! The hollandaise was rich and creamy and the smoked salmon was superb. My mom was LOVIN' her benny and my sister.. let's just say I didn't hear a peep outta here for awhile. BOMB. So glad we came here for brunch. Service was AWESOME and the food was NOM NOM NOM. I was super excited to try this place because stuffed French Toast is absolutely one of my favorite breakfast dishes and the pictures look incredible! But while the serving size and presentation were great, the dish was very disappointing. I prefer my French toast to be as moist and custard-y as possible on the inside as possible. While the bread the used seemed to be of great quality and was very soft, it wasn't moist at all. In fact, I couldn't tell that it had been soaked in custard at all. On top of that, the dish actually wasn't very sweet. I felt like most of the flavor was coming from the banana stuffing. The whipped cream and even maple syrup didn't seem to be adding much flavor. Hubby ordered the Eggs and Benny with ham, one of his favorites as well. But he also thought it was only fine and nothing special. I thought the ham and sauce were awesome and flavorful! But the beans it came with were pretty bland. Based on two not great dishes, I don't think that we would visit again. read more

Thank you TWISTED FORK for an amazing last meal in Vancouver! Hardly anyone in Vancouver yelps I've noticed and it was hard finding good spots to eat. TWISTED FORK definitely changed that! Before me and my friend's flight, we stopped here for a little mimosa and bloody mary delight and one of my favorite meals of the day: Brunch! It's a bit of a wait but completely worth it. The host and waitress we had we're extremely nice and helpful. Made the experience that cherry on top that every meal should have! My friend ordered the "Roasted red pepper scrambled eggs served with toasted sourdough and housemade jam, roasted roma tomatoes, rosti and sauteed spinach" It had great flavor and the eggs were so fluffy! He had a mimosa to top off the perfect meal. I ordered the "Smoked salmon eggs benny with toasted brioche, poached eggs, hollandaise and served with sauteed spinach, rosti and baked beans". Loved every part of the meal. Even the baked beans were good and im not usually a fan of beans. Had my signature bloody mary and i was one happy camper! Came here under the recommendation of Google user reviews. GF and I visited on a Wednesday lunch afternoon. If you drive, please be aware that this restaurant is located on a main street. The only street parking you will find close by is across the street where you will need to parallel onto the sidewalk. In short, if you suck at parking then don't waste your time and look for a paid lot inside. We were seated immediately. Small, cozy spot with fairly dim lighting the further back you sit in the restaurant For drinks we started off with OJ and a Bitter Citrus(a fancy but refreshing lemonade). I ordered the Croque Monsiuer and she had Eggs Benny. Food came fairly quick. My Croque was HUGE with massive slices of bread. A bit too much carbs and not enough protein. It was tasty but I left a good portion of the bread on my plate. Eggs Benny wasn't bad at all. Eggs perfectly cooked and just the right portions for her. I'm giving this spot a 4 out of 5 because the service was good, typical brunch items are tasty but not the best. read more

I was kind of disappointed with this place, because I'd read all these good things on Yelp and also on another website, so I had high expectations. And those were solidified when I walked in on a Saturday around noon and was told the wait time was AN HOUR. The good thing is that they take your number and text you when your table is ready, so you don't have to wait around and can go walk and shop around and whatnot until then. Sadly, after we did get our text and returned, the table intended for us was just sitting around and chatting so we had to wait a bit longer. All of their food items are priced the exact same, at $15.50 which is a pretty decent brunch price. They charge you a ridiculous amount to make substitutions though (at least that's what I was told), which honestly makes like no sense to me. I got the baked eggs which come with bacon on the side and was told it would cost an extra $3 (!!!) to substitute for turkey sausage. For the eggs benedict you can pick one of several options (salmon, sausage, avocado, vegetarian, etc.) for no extra charge so... I don't understand why any other dish would be different? Anyway, due to a mixup I suppose (because our server seemed like she was just not... super adept...), they ended up giving me the sausages anyway and didn't charge me extra, which like, thank the Lord because they weren't good and were really dry and I would have been pissed if I'd paid $3 for them. The baked eggs were also not anything too special. We did also get an order of the asiago scones ($4.50 for two) and I actually quite enjoyed those. It came with a house-made peach jam with basil or something in it? Pretty unique and quite tasty. They also have their own unique ketchup which has a smokey flavour and actually tastes more like barbecue sauce but without the tang and the kick... it was interesting. If you order coffee, it comes in a pretty large French press which yeah seems fancy and all that but as a non-coffee drinker I cannot comment on the actual coffee quality. All in all, the food wasn't bad, but given the wait and the service which was mediocre at best, it just was kind of a letdown for me. My friend got the eggs benny and seemed to enjoy her food more than I did, so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. read more

This is such a cute place for brunch! Service was fantastic and prompt, and food was very fresh. The French toast was fluffy (amazing maple syrup) and the eggs were cooked perfectly. LOVE the house made jam with the bread that they give with the eggs (highly recommend the egg dish). Their mocktails were also quite taste although I wish I'd tried the coffee instead. Keep your eyes peeled - I almost walked right by and would be sad if I had. I didn't have to wait for a seat at the bar, others were not so lucky. The place starts to fill up around 9:30a and the wait quickly rose to 45 minutes. The servers were friendly and attentive. I ordered a coffee and was pleasantly surprised with a french press. While there was plenty coffee in there for two or three people, note that they charge per person. There was a consensus among the servers that bacon is the most popular filler for the Eggs Benny, so I went with it. Their bacon is BOMB and they give you lots of it. I was unsure about the sides at first (spinach, rosti, and baked beans), but everything worked together quite well. The toasted brioche was too crispy for my liking, that was easily fixed with some extra hollandaise. Next time I'm in the area, I plan to come back and try the french toast. It looked really, really good! read more

This place is crazy busy on the weekends, so be prepared to wait for a bit to get in. Once you do though, the food is worth the wait. Today was one of the rare occasions that it wasn't that busy. (Yay!) The staff however somehow seemed to forget that, and continued to run the place as though they had a line out the door. Now I'm all for great, efficient service, but when you bring my food before I've gotten my coffee and my cheque before I've finished even half of it, that kind of leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Brunch is a sacred meal, reserved for days off of work and excellent company. Nothing ruins brunch more than the feeling of being rushed out the door. Like I said at the beginning of the review though; the food is fantastic! I ordered the ham Benny today and was given more than generous portions. The potato patty was to die for and the hollandaise sauce was exquisite. 10/10 would recommend. I just wish the wait staff were more aware of their timing. :( read more

The food at Twisted Fork looks a lot better than it tastes! The Eggs Benny were flavorless, but sides on the other hand, I could not get enough of. The Croque Madame was just a glorified ham and cheese sandwich that tasted homemade. The French Toast had a good banana flavor to it but it did not captivate me after my first bite. Lastly, the Pulled Pork Sandwich tasted the best and it was the dish that we finished first. I gave this place 3 stars because the food was mediocre, and I felt that the price was affordable. Although it was full when I went there, I think there are much better places with similar food in Vancouver. I had croque Monsieur. I didnt fell in love for this one, although it was good and full of ham. It was also pricey. Me and my husband paid $28 for 2 croque Monsieur. Momma bear and I had brunch here on our last day in Vancouver. We actually walked by it on our way to try to find it. And it is very dark on the inside but that's ok and I am sure a welcome aspect to hungover people. TIP : when they offer you the the SCONES to start, don't say no. They are freshly baked and served with house made jam and beyond heavenly. I ordered the smoked salmon eggs benny and mom opted for the croque monsieur. Both super delish. Breakfast was yum yum in our tums! We even purchased a jar of their home made mango jam and smuggled it back home in my mom's giant suitcase. So worth it! read more

The food here is really really good. I enjoyed my eggs Benny with pulled pork and I think you will too. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Both times I was here, I was solo and this places made me feel like I was sitting amongst friends, which is a huge thing to say about a place like this. Each time I went I was greeted by very friendly staff who welcomed me with a smile and kept coming back around to ensure I had everything I needed. Again, these are big deals for places like this, also should be the reason you go to places like this. They just do it right. The beans are tasty and delicious. The eggs are perfectly cooked and tasty. Both dishes I had were enjoyable. read more

*3.5 out of 5. A lot of friends told me about this place and its reviews seemed stellar for Yaletown. Overall I found that the wait time and food did not match the hype of this place. For a group of 4 at 11 am on a Sunday it was a one hour wait, which they were pretty honest about, and they'll text you once you're good to go. Service is excellent, no qualms about it at all. Ambience was also nice. I ordered the eggs Benedict with mushrooms and caramalized onions, with coffee on the side. After having read reviews stating how good the eggs Benny were, I was pretty let down. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't great. Somewhere in the middle. No part of dish was formidable or stood out in any way. The coffee was plain but solid. I feel like if they upped their potatoe game and hollandaise sauce, it would help a lot! I'd recommend this place if you get seated right away, but it's definitely not worth the one hour wait! read more

Twisted Fork - Eggs Benny - French Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

Bottom Line - There is definitely a wait if you'd like to get a table at weekend brunch time. Plan to wait an hour. For us, we thought the brioche of the day was a bit dry. The french toast was also dry (and probably didn't soak enough in the egg batter). The eggs are fantastic and obviously locally sourced. Service is really nice and the ambiance was cozy. I would come back to give them one more try. 2 friends and I stayed at the Sheraton Wall Centre down the street and found this brunch location via Yelp. We came on 26 February 2012 around 11am and were told there would be an hour wait, so we walked around Granville for a while and came back. We were seated in the nice front window table. Banana stuffed French Toast ($12.05, sprinkled with cinnamon icing sugar and a side of vanilla whipped cream) - We ordered this dish to share in addition to the other dishes we each ordered. I was disappointed by this dish because the brioche was too dry, and I thought they should have let the brioche soak more in the egg mixture.... I wouldn't order this again. Eggs Benny ($12.05 x2, with toasted brioche, poached eggs, hollandaise and served with sautéed spinach, rosti and baked beans; choose one filler) - We chose smoked salmon. My friend and I ordered this. My friend didn't care for the baked beans. We both thought the poached eggs were lovely, especially the correct colour of the egg yolks. Instead of the brioche, I would have much preferred a house-made English muffin; they're not hard to make. I felt the size of the brioche overpowered this dish. In the end, I had to ask for additional hollandaise sauce because the dish was quite lacking. Not sure I'd order this again. Gruyere Baked Eggs ($12.05, with sourdough toast, bacon, tomato, rosti and baked beans) - My friend Stuart ordered this and he really enjoyed it. I thought it was just missing a blood sausage and it could almost be an English breakfast. He would order this again. Along with two cranberry and one orange juices ($3.57/ each), the total for out table of 3 came to $66.00 (incl HST) + $14.00 tip = $80.00. read more

Twisted Fork - Partial menu cuz it's adorable! - French Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

My family and I are visiting Vancouver from California. This is a great surprise! I had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict on French bread, spinach and baked beans. Not used to baked beans for breakfast, but meal was amazing and favorable. Service was very good and attentive. Highly recommend the brunch read more

Great breakfast spot. We were walking by a half hour before it opened just to find it - we planned to walk around town more, but ended up staying to wait in line. Met two delightful ladies from California and chatted as the time flew by. For food I had the generous fruit plate with Asiago scones (YUM), others in our party had the Croque Monsieur (I got some of it...) and the famed 'banana stuffed waffle'. I probably had about 1/4 of that as well. I was surprised to see coffee for 3.50 on the menu, but when it arrived - it was bottomless - i.e. constantly replaced/replenished - FRENCH PRESS. Strong coffee at breakfast makes for good times. We don't usually wait in line - particularly when there are other options available - but I would say this was worth the wait. read more

Came here to meet up a friend I haven't seen for 12 years for brunch! It's a small restaurant packed with favorable food. Their brunch menu has about 10 items on it. All the items on the menu are $13.50 Canadian dollar. The price is really reason because it's location at the heart of downtown Vancouver. I got the Egg Benny with chicken sausage. There were also some beans and green that came on the side. I'm not a bean kinda girl, so it was no no for me. The egg were a little over cooked for my time; I want my yolk more runny. The chicken sausage was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. As for the bread, it was thick cut bread, which is exactly what I like. However, there were too much butter on top. I probably wouldn't come back here again since there's nothing really special about this place that makes the 40 minutes wait worth while. Tip: Be patient and be ready to wait! The lines here are long & they don't take reservation at all. read more
