Great cold flavorful beer and nice to eat right by the river outside. Beautiful surroundings. We ordered burgers that came with chips. For each entree, substituting chips for fries or salad cost $4 extra, so that extra charge on top of a $17 entree was a no go for us. When we got the food, the bag of chips our burgers came with was embarrassingly small and 50% filled with chips and 50% filled with air. Charging $17 for a not particularly large burger and a baby bag of chips is plain old swindling. That should have been the price with the fries or the salad. Not cool. Burger itself was ok though, could have had more green leafy lettuce instead of the whitish iceberg. 2.5 stars rounded up to 3. read more

The food was great, the beer was cold and delicious. We had average service, we waited too long to be served on an average night. The Tap House is always clean with great music and locals. Our table area was clean. We will return again, and we recommend others to stop here when in town. read more

The pretzel was DELICIOUS. It's buttery, soft and the cheese dip was great! They have quite a few beers on tap, but the I ended up having the gimlet and a sip of scofflaw- both delicious. The place is huge and perfect for groups, tons of outdoor seating with a nice view of the river. read more

Great service, even better food! We sat out on the deck with a view of the Twisp River. So relaxing listening to the sound of the water. Could still hear the live music inside, but we could carry on a conversation, which was nice. We ordered a few things from the appetizer menu. The quesadilla w pulled pork, pretzel w beer cheese, and nachos were all fantastic. Good selection of beer and a couple of really good ciders. Will definitely come back next time we are in town! read more

Casual dining with a variety of options. Stopped in on our way back from a visit to North Cascades. Ordered a burger and miso salad with smoked steelhead. Both meals were excellent. The miso salad was made with fresh, crisp ingredients and salmon was perfectly prepared. Wide range of beer options on tap and local wine. Spacious patio is located along a quiet stream. I didn't love it here. It just kind of missed the mark for me. I'm not a local so am definitely used to much better service and food, being from the west side, where places like this are a dime a dozen and have to actually compete for customers. I put this place in the "small town restaurants that serve tourists so they dont stand out or try to get repeat business" category. Basically you're only going here for a beer and a bite, nothing at all "feel good" about the experience. read more

We enjoyed our lunch at the Twisp River Tap House. We originally wanted to sit outside due to the pretty view of the river, but it was too hot and way too many bugs (although they do provide bug spray). Our food was good. My husband said his nachos were good - not the best he's ever had but fine. I had the Oklahoma Onion burger and it was very yummy. Kids had the quesadilla and grilled cheese sandwich and both enjoyed their meals and had leftovers. They have a descent beer and cider selection. Service was great! read more

So happy I found this beautiful gem! Came here in between work trips and met the friendliest owners! I promised I'd bring my family back and today I came through with the promise! It's hard to decide what to highlight when writing a review of the Twisp River Taphouse. I'll sum up by saying it is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon or evening! Family friendly, beautiful, with a great selection of beverages to enjoy in the taphouse or at a riverside patio table. The outdoor patio is absolutely perfect: plenty of space, the beautiful Twisp River just feet away, views into the ponderosas and hills, abundant flowers, and artistic touches. Indoors is just as lovely, with great decor, atmosphere, and performance space. Clean, inviting, interesting... the Twisp River Taphouse is a place you want to spend time. The beverage selection is diverse and growing. I appreciate a tap list that includes a sour! I look forward to sampling the scotch list. Great experience! We had a family get together here and enjoyed the beautiful outdoor patio. The beer on tap was cold and delicious. There was something for everyone. I especially enjoyed the wine on tap. Really great people working super helpful. There is a restaurant inside that has a rotating menu too. We loved the food. I am usually not one to leave a bad review for a local restaurant in a town that I live in, but I have gone here twice and both dinner experiences were bad. My first experience was over six months ago. We waited over a hour and a half for our food when it wasn't even that busy. Then when our food came out, my order was completely wrong. I ordered a burger and there was bleu cheese all over it. The burger that I ordered didn't even come with bleu cheese. I brought it to the waitresses attention and she tried to blame it on another order that was with the group I was with that was on a separate ticket. I had to take it back up to the bar to get my meal fixed. I then later heard that everyone in the kitchen was too scared to bring my fixed order out to me when I wasn't even rude about the mistake, I just wanted it fixed so that I could eat the burger that I ordered. My second experience was last night for a friend's birthday. I was hesitant to order dinner because of my first experience, but decided to give it a second chance. The wait wasn't as long this time, which was nice, but the food still sucked. It's almost as if whoever is working in the kitchen can't read the tickets and doesn't care about the quality of the food that they are sending out. I had ordered bacon (extra $2.50) and substituted the chips for fries (extra $4.50). My burger was also supposed to come with grilled onions. When our food came out, my burger didn't have bacon. So I immediately went up to the bar to ask not to be charged extra for the bacon, and the lady at the bar didn't argue or anything. She just took it off of my bill. I had returned to my table and started eating. My fries, that I was charged an extra $4.50 for, were not even lukewarm and rock hard. After getting through about half of my burger, I also realized that it didn't have the grilled onions like the menu description said it would. The service from the lady that we received at the bar was great. They have good drinks, but I am done ordering food at the Taphouse. It's ridiculous to me to charge a total of $7.00 extra for bacon that you most likely won't get, fries that you could break a tooth trying to eat, and for your food to not even be lukewarm when it is served to you. For food of that low of quality, it is not worth the price. You're better off eating somewhere else for dinner where you can get hot food and good quality. It's pretty disappointing because I am a local and I love the place that I live and the small businesses trying to make a good name for themselves, but I would only return for the drinks and karaoke. I'm done paying a high price for food that I can make for a cheaper and better price at home, and it would actually be warm! read more

Food was fresh and delicious! We had the miso salad and lettuce wraps as apps - great flavor and tasted fresh and healthy. Portions not overly large so we still had plenty of room for our main diner. We then shared the pulled pork sliders and added an extra barbacoa taco! The sliders were amazing and the slaw on them was a great touch. The taco was also lovely with pickled raddish and a crema! This place is Great! Whether you are a local of the Methow Valley or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop in. The food is delicious, and they have a really good beer and cider selection, as well as tasty cocktails. There is always something fun happening there and they bring in some great music. The service has always been top notch and friendly. The owners, Amy and Stuart, are hard-working, good people. I am always amazed what the Twisp River Taphouse has going on. If your looking to take a yoga class, Monday nights! learn to line dance wed night Debbie is great! Thursday ping pong/trivia(winter), Friday open mic, sat and sun music. There is something going on almost everyday they are open:) Its a fun atmosphere, to hang out solo, in a group to play games. sitting outside is very peaceful. Great food menu we thoroughly enough when we can make it in. read more

Horrible horrible place!! You order at the bar and hopefully you won't get the gal that waited on us. We were excited to try this place. There were three tables leaving when we showed up. We placed our order and ordered a couple of beers to enjoy while we waited for our food. Gal never came back to check on us. 4 more tables came in behind us. We began to notice these tables were getting their food, so after sitting for an hour my husband asked if he could have another beer and asked how much longer for our food. She, the bartender said 2 more minutes meanwhile the last table that came in behind us received their food. We waited another 10 minutes and then asked for our tab. We had waited long enough. When we told her we had been sitting for over an hour and didn't want to wait any longer she said we were disrespecting her. No apology for the wait just a nasty attitude. We will warn everyone we know. If you're a local you probably get great service if the place can stay open that long. This is my first bad review on a restaurant but I've never been so disgusted in overall treatment and service read more

Waited 45 min for two burgers Togo in a nearly empty restaurant, they came out missing stuff we paid extra for and with about 7 French fries each, and then took another 15 min for it to be redone. Fries that were redone were soggy and not enjoyable. Burgers were tiny yet pricey ($18?!? Not even close to being worth the $!!). The man we placed our order with kept disappearing and not returning so we could not even ask about our food. One staff member refunded us thankfully. I would have been upset if I had to pay for what we got. read more

Ordered to go. I was told a hour. Showed up 20 minutes early. Requested sides and was told all were in the bag. Returned to our hotel to find our entree cold and soggy. As if it was sitting there for some time. No eating utensils as stated were packed. Over all food was lousy, cold, soggy. The food was delicious! They had a vegan sweet potato barbecue sandwich which was sooo good! It's sometimes hard to find vegan food when traveling so I was so happy about this! They have a few ciders on tap too which is great. We were here on a Saturday night and there was live music outside with heat lamps by the tables. Really good vibes! read more

The salmon caesar is delicious. The tap choices have something for everyone and the craft cocktails are legit! I sampled their old-fashioned and WOW - Yum! The whiskey sour was over the top! In fact, earlier in the day, we actually popped in to ask if they took reservations (they don't) and to get a sense of the best time to arrive for dinner. The staff was super helpful and suggested coming around 5/5:30pm to beat the crowds. We followed their advice and showed up just after 5:30 and sure enough, there were still some tables available both inside and outside. We chose a shaded outdoor table and then placed our order at the register/bar. I went with the poke bowl because... of course I did. The portion size was generous, so generous that I couldn't finish it (probably because I had already devoured a massive pulled pork sandwich earlier at the Mazama Store... no regrets). The fish was fresh and the flavors were great. Service was impeccable. Everyone we interacted with was friendly yet efficient. Prices were also very reasonable especially for a relatively remote mountain town. While I didn't have any of the beers, there are plenty of craft brews available. All in all, Mazama Public House is a gem of a spot nestled in one of Washington's most scenic areas. Whether you're a hiker, cyclist, or just passing through, I highly recommend stopping in for a great meal and good vibes!

LONG VERSION: I'll give the full picture with nothing exaggerated so you can decide for yourself. First, maybe it matters maybe it doesn't -- I'm a 40-year-old Asian man, Electrical Engineer with tattoos, working at a FAANG company. I don't look anything like the typical people who might pass by. My family comes to Winthrop annually during the long Juneteenth weekend and there are no Tesla charging stations around. I stopped to charge my car here at East 20 Pizza (LAW: if you pay to charge, you are a patron of the station and do not have to pay to eat at the business to leave your car) but felt guilty about taking a spot on a very slow charger -- I'm at 40% and it said 7-hour charge time. I went in and asked if I'm a customer, can I leave my car for about 3 hours. They said no and mostly tried to kick me out of the spot. After talking to about 4 different people who were unsure, there was one guy that was reasonable and he decided I could stay. I ordered a beer and the biggest 16" pizza they have to make sure they understood I was a customer. I sat outside and the same old lady who didn't want my car there came out and told me she has 4 people looking for a table. I said okay, that's reasonable -- if you need the spots then I'll move. She sits me inside in front of the cash register. Someone else walks in and says she wants to sit outside. They said "of course, there are plenty of spots" -- and there was a section completely empty. So I said hey, can I come along? If there are more spots then I'm not sure why I'm sitting here. We get out there and the entire section was completely empty -- at least 18 seats. I figured this should be empty enough for me to have a beer and a slice or two, then take the rest to my family. Maybe 10 minutes in, the old lady sees me and says hey, we're expecting to get busy, and if my food is to-go then I'm going to have to move. Again. Mind you, there were open tables all around me. She said "I think your pizza is done, you can just go get it." I said it's not to-go -- I have a beer right here and I'm eating the pizza here -- but I've been moved multiple times in a short period. I can catch a hint. I go to the front and cash out. (Thinking back, I automatically hit at least 20% tip out of habit -- I'm kind of sad I still did that.) After I paid, I asked for my pizza and when they went to check, they said it wasn't even ready yet. After waiting a little longer, I didn't want to make a scene over the way I was feeling, so I politely said: "When my pizza is ready, there's a family of 4 in the back corner -- can you please just give it to them?" And then I left...

I tried the sliders for my main course, and others at the table ordered salads with proteins. There was a fabulous selection, perfect for a lighter meal. These were so bountiful that there was a nice portion to take home for lunch the next day. My trio of sliders were a little underwhelming. The rolls didn't seem same-day fresh and the meats were a little dry. I wanted something light; next time, I'll order a salad with a choice of barbecued meats. In any case, it was a good meal in a fine restaurant with a fantastic server with a twinkle in her eye. Can't beat that in the middle of the Methow Valley!
