Sunday, October 5, 2025 around 1pm. Perfect timing as a few tables had just finished lunch so we got seated at a wood booth with only a few minutes wait. Friendly server and she asked questions to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. The nachos were huge and done right, with toppings and cheese in layers, generous sour cream on top and side cup of their fresh salsa. My burger was delicious and also perfectly done. Slightly pink and juicy. Fresh, thick slice of tomato, thin sliced red onion and green leafy lettuce on the side. I really liked the bun too and it was grilled a little. They serve it without sauce so I was able to add ketchup and mustard which was readily available on the table. It's family friendly with booths on one side of a wall and saloon on the other side. It's casual and the building is really old so it has some character and small bathrooms. Could use some good dusting in overhead of the dining area. Hopefully it stays this good for a long time because we probably won't be back to this area until next year and we'll definitely eat here again. read more

My family and I went to Three Fingered Jacks for dinner on Friday night around 6:30pm. We sat in the restaurant area, when we arrived there were 2 other groups seated, but by the time we had ordered the tables had mostly filled up. The restaurant was also decorated for Christmas still and had that cute small town charm. According to my fiancé's parents who are locals, the prime rib Friday special is fabulous, so of course I had to order that! 3 of us ordered the prime rib, and my fiancé ordered a double patty veggie burger. The prime rib was served with a side salad to start, and then the entree included mashed potatoes and bacon green beans. I like my prime rib medium-well and the server offered me an end piece for maximum flavor. When it arrived, the food was all absolutely delicious! The prime rib was super tender and flavorful, and the portion sizes were generous. My fiancé was impressed with the size and quality of his veggie burger as well. I have been here more times than I can count and have great memories and have always loved the food. So I came back to town and of course this was my first stop. I ordered the fish and chips, which has always been my favorite here. They weren't able to make it because the fish was frozen. So I ordered a chicken burger. They were also not able to make that because the chicken was frozen. After trying to order twice and neither things were available, I decided to ask the waitress what she recommended. She looked at me completely serious and said "honestly a different restaurant". Umm ok. So I asked "Well which restaurant do you recommend? Maybe I will leave and go somewhere else." At this point I was confused and kind of in disbelief. She goes on to tell me that the restaurant that she recommends is 2 hours away in Wenatchee LOL. I ended up ordering this burger and coleslaw that I didn't even want, just for it to come out and look like jail food. Jacks makes up with quality for what it's missing in fingers. Service wasn't reasonably good. It was excellent. Prompt, funny, knowledgeable. The salsa in the chips and salsa was the tip off that things were about to get good. Fresh and flavorful. My garden burger was perfectly made with spicy peppers. Fries were crisp and hot. My buddy had the Sirloin Steak. ''Twas the night before... ok that doesn't fit here but my friend reports the steak was tender and perfectly cooked. Server was pleasant and would have been happy to give our standard 20% tip until she did nothing about the salad with extremely under-ripe produce. In the picture, you'll see fork marks on the avocado... that's from me hitting it with my fork using a decent amount of force. Not how ripe avocado would "behave." Tomatoes weren't any better. Nearly hard as rocks. Chicken tasted off and I think I figured out why by looking at another post on here. Dark meat - so wasn't expecting it. Zero offer to switch it or refund it. Cool spot, tourist trap, but still a cool spot. It was getting hot out so we decided to stop in for a beer. They were busy when we walked in but not full, we found a seat on the drink rail by the bathrooms. A server came over and helped us out within minutes. We just ordered beers as the kitchen was backed up and food was taking at least 40 minutes (we overheard the server tell another couple, but then she told us too). I mean honestly they weren't that busy, but then again they were probably short staffed like most of the hospitality industry. Our server was fast and nice, the beer was cold and delicious and the decor was cool. Definitely worth a stop. read more

Loved the menu options and the history! Huge portions! Tasty and friendly staff. The tales are they have the oldest LEGAL saloon in Wash.

The license must be the oldest in Washington but the building can't be that old. The decor is tacky, faux old western junk on walls with beer signs of beers they don't serve. Food is basic bar food. From the freezer to the fryer to the plastic basket. Maybe the after 5pm food is better but I am not going back. The steak looks good in the pictures. read more

This was an interesting atmosphere of a saloon, as I was driving through and stumbled upon this western themed town. I decided to go with a salad to help me along on my roadtrip. The grilled chicken was moist and good. I liked how the salad had so many different types of greens, green onions, and more toppings. It made for a much tastier and interesting salad. The inside is a pretty cool designed old western saloon. Nothing too crazy but hey it fits the theme. We came here after a long hike northwest of Winthrop, and wanted a place to eat on the drive back. We were seated after just 10 minutes and the server was good, very polite and efficient. Honestly? The food was soooo good. I dont know if it was the post-hike hunger or what, but it was genuinely a 10/10 meal. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of onion rings. My friend ordered the chicken tenders and they were ... so on point. Yes, it's basic bar food but after a hike and needing to fuel up on your way home, this place was perfect. We've been coming to Winthrop for years for our Anniversary. For the last 5 years we haven't been able to make it over due to work etc. This town has changed.... Very disappointed that Duck Brand Restaurant was bought out and replaced with a take out menu ?!! Really !! This place has history and was an icon that we looked forward to eating at. We were so excited to eat there for our 25th Anniversary. What a disappointment. Burnt Finger is even gone.... Ended up at 3 Fingered Jacks. Our waiter was trying so hard to be on top of it but his helper let him down. He was very friendly and helpful. His helper barely talked and when he brought out our entrees and we hadn't been served our salads yet he was visibly disappointed. He was kind enough to remove my husbands salad off the bill for the inconvenience. We weren't expecting a top notch gourmet meal because that's just not what you go to 3FJ for, but..... the salad greens were wilty & soft. We were so hungry we chomped on the good parts of it but I wouldn't feed my rabbit that lettuce. I ordered a drink because it was our Anniversary, we wanted to celebrate and I would have had a couple more but no one came by to ask if I wanted a refill.... Ambiance of Jacks is expected to be a little loud because after all it's a bar with pool tables on one side family seating on the other. The waiter was dressed appropriately but his helper wore sweats...... you're serving the public that is paying for food and drinks that you are offering. Dress to impress no matter the job and smile girl !! It's not the end of the world that you get paid and tipped to serve us !! Do better Winthrop !! This was a refreshing saloon restaurant that is the opposite of what I have had to become accustomed to lately. Let me explain. Getting service in Seattle is more nerve-racking than a Ukrainian grocery run . The wait staff are typically sociopaths with the interpersonal skills of a wolverine the dish most of them have on the menu is" attitude" Three fingered Jacks are the opposite of that. The wait staff and customers are friendly, and the food is very tasty with a wide variety of comfort foods. It doesn't seem to matter what you order. It is all the same high quality and taste. The saloon decor is a cross between 70s and old west decor. The only remotely negative complaint is that I really wanted to buy one of their cool shirts, but they did not have my size in stock. Unexpected really good food. This western style saloon was fun. Very busy, we eat at the bar. Shared the meatloaf and two side salads. The meatloaf wrapped with bacon , mashed potatoes, gravy on the side, and grilled veggies was fantastic - tasty and satisfying, plenty for two of us. I order a Boulevardier (bourbon, vermouth, and Campari) and I had to tell them how to do it - was fun. Loved the live opera singer, unexpected for a western bar. Roberto was excellent, immigrated from Cuba 2 years ago and he worked at the conservatory over there. Now he is A dishwasher at this establishment. He has a great voice, lovely singing, and we truly appreciated. We are not if his colleagues have the appreciation for him that he deserves. We came here for dinner and drinks after a day of hiking in North Cascades NP. I saw the poor reviews so we weren't expecting much, but I will say it exceeded our expectations. We were seated and waited on quickly. We ordered onion rings for an appetizer while we waited for 5pm (when they start serving the dinner menu). I kinda customized a sandwich, which they were kind enough to let me do, I got a BLT with cheese on a pretzel bun, and I enjoyed it! My husband got the ribeye and he said it was good. A couple younger workers were on their phones most of the time. We don't expect lightning fast service but this was a tad crazy. We won't be back unless it's to grab a drink in the bar. We ate here twice. First night fish n chips and pizza, second night hamburger/fries chicken ceasar. The food was all ok, except on the ceasar salad, the lettuce was a bit brown. She made some suggestions and after that my wife ordered the chicken Caesar salad and I ordered a chargrilled whiskey chicken burger with onion rings. Both were delicious and highly recommended. Do not go here. I have eaten here since 1975 and it has been a great place. However something has changed. We went there 8/19 in the bar. We waited almost 2 hours for dinner. The people next to us waited 2. Waitresses were frustrated and totally non attentive. They said it was an issue with the kitchen. It was terrible. read more

Great atmosphere, service and food. I had the veggie burger and it was one of the best I have had. Large patty, crispy exterior, hot throughout. And the roasted red pepper and spicy ketchup put it over the top! My husband had the Southwest salad which was delicious and full of avocado and chicken. It was a sunny Saturday so it seemed like the perfect day for a beautiful, long drive up the North Cascades Highway to the always-charming "cowboy" town of Winthrop. And one place that's a staple of the main intersection in town is Three Fingered Jacks. It was pretty busy so we grabbed a seat at the bar, and a couple of cold beers while we decided what to order. The menu was pretty basic bar food, so we decided on burgers. While we waited, we chatted with the friendly bartender and ordered another beer. The burgers took awhile, and they were...ok. I guess the most disappointing part was they were way overcooked, and the buns seemed pretty basic. Not the worst burger ever, but I probably wouldn't order it again. The accompanying coleslaw was - to me at least - inedible. I mean, I'm no slaw snob but it was just mushy and...not good. The place definitely has character, and I'm sure it's seen some rowdy weekend nights with locals and tourists mingling for pool and drinking. Definitely the kind of place I'd come back to for some Saturday night fun; but I'd probably eat somewhere else next time. I understand being busy, but I did see several people leave just because they did not get their food. They had been here longer than us. When everything finally settled a bit, it did not change. At least he was offered and had a cup of coffee. As we sat there, the hostess seated another person at our table. She was kind and did ask if it was okay, and, of course, we said yes. Both guys were nice, but I was trying to enjoy some time with my wife. There were no waters, no coffee, and no communication from the server that they were running behind. We sat at the table without so much as a word or even a drop of water. Finally, the server came over and asked the first gentleman, who had been lucky enough to get coffee, for his order. He replied, "I'll just pay for my coffee; I'm out of time." Then she left, and the other guy recently seated with us said, "I'm glad it's not just me!" We walked out and headed over to the Cider House, where we were met by an amazing waitress with a carafe of ice-cold water and a beautiful menu.
