3.5 Stars This may be slightly positively biased review because it's of the very few spots in the town of Wintrhop serving fresh, yummy food. It would probably be a 3 if in the city. We got the deviled eggs ($7 for 1.5 eggs) and the falafel Meza Bowls ($26) - they were delicious items that were nice and light - but massively overpriced for what they were. Maybe it's because we're in the mountains and it's hard to source ingredients. The staff are so sweet and the interior has a surprisingly very nice, candlelit ambience. There's lots of seating available, and you order at the cashier and take a number. The person at the cashier warned us the food would take an hour to prepare - it was WAY faster, so I'm happy she prepared us to be pleasantly surprised. read more

Super great food. We ordered most of the menu over two visits and enjoyed everything. The meatballs were a highlight as was the chocolate torte but it's all very good. Nice dining room, a bit loud when it's busy but not necessarily in a bad way. Outside seating area could be improved. Service is iffy everywhere in the Methow Valley, so I would not have too high of expectations for that -- they tried but all of these businesses are reliant on some iffy seasonal help. read more

It was nice to find this spot in Winthrop. Pretty busy on a Friday night. Got a solo spot near the counter. If i remember correctly, it's just wine and beer. I had a lovely glass of pinot noir. For food tried the mac & cheese and a chicken dish i didn't catch the name of. For me the mac and cheese was a bit bland. For me probably a sharper cheese would have been nice. And more of it. Had dinner here with 2 other couples, so we picked out several tapas along with the sampler platter.... Pros- one of the very few Winthrop establishments opened for a later dinner time (they close at 9pm), friendly service, quality ingredients, nice ambiance, and a decent value. With drinks (1 glass of wine, 2 beers, 2 Arnold Palmers, and a coke), it came out to $42 ish per couple to try several tapas plates, plus a meat and cheese plate, as well as the sampler platter. Items ordered: deviled eggs (3 halves = 1 order), cauliflower- quite tasty (dish everyone liked the most), Warmed dates (dates and containing dish are super hot!), blistered string beans, cheese and meat plate, sampler platter, and 2 orders of their Mac and cheese... all for 6 people in total. Cons- I thought we ordered enough, but everyone was still hungry! Portions are definitely on the smaller size, so plan accordingly. The item everyone liked least was the falafel... they were quite dry. Ask for more taziki and you should be fine. Overall a nice experience for all of us. read more

Ambiance is beautiful 4 stars!! Food plates are small and fair value for money. We had the salad with falafels, they were very small and too dry. Chicken had nice flavor but overcooked and dry. Wine was very good. I think this could be a fun place but we would have been happier with meals and maybe the menu needs to be redefined. We ordered several side plates and they came 1 at a time. What a yummy, unique assortment of delicious food!! Our daughter got the mac & cheese, definitely delicious and not the typical basic kid combo of flavors. We shared the sampler platter, what a party that was! I wish we got it with some naan/bread. The meatballs were AMAZING! Moist, full of flavor and had some green in them - so healthy, right? Our server was so kind & quick with our order. She wasn't awkward or annoyed with our daughter like some servers can get. The music made me want to dance! Wall decor was nice, clean establishment. Mesa was the only restaurant open in town when we arrived. Crazy crowd and backed up kitchen, but staff kept us updated and maintained a positive attitude through it all. Food was well worth it and beer helped tide us over while we waiting for food. They even gave us complimentary olives for an app while we waiting. read more

Yum! Mesa has become our go-to restaurant when in Winthrop. Everything we've tried is flavorful and delicious. We loved the cauliflower, asparagus, and Meza bowl with chicken. The flourless chocolate torte was incredible. We also enjoyed the live music. We will definitely be back!!! read more

We came for dinner on a Sunday evening so understandably there were a few sold out items. However, we managed to to create a delightful meal from the remaining items. Unusual flavors melded together, fresh ingredients and such personable staff - what more can one ask for at the tail end of a sunny week. A woman called back said full but you could ¨ẗry to walk in¨ Asked to have a menu emailed as there is non visible online that lists prices and offerings other than ¨generic¨. Told ¨oh we change the offerings all the time and I can´t send you a menu¨. No prices on the list. My opinion is that if you can´t display a menu with prices, you are too snobby and not customer friendly. read more

Really nice dining in Winthrop. Food was great, tapas style which isn't always my jam but I felt like we had enough to eat. Patio seating overlooked the river and there was someone inside teaching salsa. The servers and bartenders were very friendly and attentive. The food tastes good and the servers are nice but the service is just not working. Very wrong. We ordered our food and got seated at 7:25pm. We ordered Meza Bowl (basically a pickle dish with some greens and falafel), a Caesar salad and roasted cauliflower. At 8:05pm we finally got our Meza Bowl. We waited 40 min for it! And then at 8:15pm the cauliflower finally appears! Then they brought us the Meza Bowl and cauliflower again at 8:25pm?! I guess they messed up the orders too. Now is 8:35pm...I am still waiting for my Caesar salad. Yes, I am typing this review while I am waiting for a salad to be made. Ooo 8:36pm, it is here. Really? We ate here for the first time at the end of January. It was a Sunday evening and relatively quiet (we arrived just after 5pm).
