My husband and I were in Lake Chelan for the day and we needed to grab a bite for lunch. Most establishments were closed so we went into Layla's bar and kitchen. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was extraordinary. We shared a prime, rib dip and chicken lettuce wraps. Definitely try both if you're ever in the restaurant. I had a drink called the Nada margarita and it was so dang good. My husband's a beer drinker, but after tasting my drink, he said next time he'd order that instead of a beer. We will definitely be making the trip back to Chelan just for the drink and food at Layla's. read more

I'll give them an A for effort into the Asian Fusion food they serve but my only ding is the sauce they use is identical in many of the dishes they serve on the tacos and in the rice bowls. Overall the taste as good in each of our dishes. Some people have dinged them on service but felt during our visit they came by often, refilled our water without asking and refreshed our sodas too. But the execution was just ok, same with the Asian salad which had those crunchy noodles like your mom bought in the supermarket when she wanted to make an "ethnic" Chinese chicken salad. Wish this was a 5 star experience as I really think it could have been. We made a reservation for 14 (for a Bach party) on a Saturday night at 8pm. When we sat down, we were all starving. We unfortunately learned upon sitting down that they had run out of nearly all of their food. They explained that they had been aware that they were running out since Friday evening (the night before our reservation). However, they had not taken this time to buy more or to call us and tell us we should not show up anticipating dinner. The biggest part problem is that nearly every restaurant or bar in Chelan closes at 9pm which made it nearly impossible to scramble and find somewhere to feed 14 people before everything closed in less than 60 minutes. We thankfully found a place down the street to get takeout from but this nonetheless tainted our experience. The drinks and handful of apps we did have were delicious. It was one of the best dirty martinis I've ever had! And I would definitely get the crab Rangoon dip again. I truly do hope to come back and try more but feel that I cannot give them more stars since they had not even called us before our reservation to tell us they were out of food. read more

Super disappointed in my recent visit to Layla's and would not recommend anyone visit. After asking for recommendations from friends while visiting Chelan, they said that Layla's provided half decent food and drinks for a rather affordable price. Upon entrance and searching the menu, my girlfriend and I went to search for other food and decided to come back to Layla's. After sitting down and waiting for our table to be cleared, we provided our IDs to our server. After about eight minutes of waiting, I was told that they were "not comfortable with your ID" due to my wallet barely polishing off onto the ID. Quite the travesty, such a good appeal to the restaurant but a terrible wait staff. Disappointed does not underscore my true thoughts of this establishment. read more

Now, I am not writing this to discourage Layla's. Honestly I live in a small town, and I am a cook myself. Layla's atmosphere was pretty awesome. I loved the look and the decore. However the food did not really match the atmosphere. My wife and I ordered the Shrimp Tempura, a couple of drinks, and I got the chicken teriyaki yakisoba bowl, and my wife got the prime rib french dip. The shrimp Tempura was a bit odd textured, but they tasted good.. Now I am on a high protein diet, so I asked our waitress if I could pay extra to get to 6oz of cooked chicken. I paid 5.00 dollar extra for that, I got maybe 3oz of chicken total, and it was all like dilapidated and mashed into the noodles. My wife's Prime Rib Dip was loaded with fat, I'm going to say 50% fat, 50% protein. The meat was also pretty tough. I am happy to sit down with the owners/chefs, and show them, or teach them how to up their menu, A couple of small tweaks, and I am sure Layla's can be an AMAZING place with an AMAZING atmosphere that serves GREAT food, for a great price. Please take this criticism kindly, and adjust. We need good places to eat here. Going to Wenatchee is a bear to say the least. read more

Classy, upscale yet casual at the same time. Dan, the owner, is super friendly and loves what he does! His passion shines through into the decor and the food. The night we were there was slow and Dan was doing it all. Taking orders, filling drinks, cooking the food and talking to the customers with a smile on his face. There is a variety of seating options from sitting at the bar, to couches and many larger high top wood tables for bigger groups or joining others, communal style. The Banh Mi Chicken Street Tacos were simply amazing! So delicious that I want more and more. The presentation was classy too! I've been here a few times and have loved all the food offered. I think the only negative thing is it's a 21 years and over only establishment. I'd love to bring my family here to enjoy the food and vibe but can't. We usually stop by for drinks any time we are in town. Everything is a bit on the pricier side but it's good. We had a big group a few weekends back and had to all pay together which is the general theme in town. I got an espresso martini and the French dip which were both super good. We ordered the ahi poke which is suppose to come with wonton chips. Well it didn't; instead it came out with pita bread cut into chip like shapes lol... we asked the server if they had run out of the wonton chips and he said yes.. why wouldn't he tell us before we ordered it, or even before he dropped it off so we could change our order?. Also, they never brought us water. I kept on one star only because its atmosphere is good. These simple mistakes could have been avoided had there been some thought or consideration.
