We had a good time here. Nice wait staff. Veggie options were tasty especially the Caesar salad. The mushroom risotto had shiitake mushrooms which was a nice surprise. Pesto pasta was flavorful though a bit too oily. Tiramisu was a bit too sweet. read more

Came here on a Friday night when we were turned away from the Fainting Goat, and we are so glad it turned out that way. We had the watermelon pizza to start; a great starter on a dry, hot July evening. I had the brisket and my husband had the ribs. Both were smoked perfectly, and had great flavor. The portions were good. I couldn't finish all my dinner and had to give the rest to my husband. I left completely stuffed and totally satisfied! Though they didn't serve food by the time we rolled in at 10pm on a Saturday, we made the stop on vibe and ambiance alone. Funny, innovative bartender, amazing drinks... ...and a late night Sean Paul disco ball moment? Yes times ten. Lights got lowered, and we sipped the spiciest (per request) margarita with some major late night feels. Place was dirty, wait staff was annoyed my fiancé and I were taking a few minutest to order, where he said "oh so you don't want to order anything?". No dude, 3 different wait staff just came by, filled our water, gave us different menus, then water from a dog bowl was splashed all over our legs when the one of the waiters tried to welcome us. The food offered seemed to be different depending on what waiter came by, first one said no pork only brisket and the other dude said we are only doing chicken tonight. Make sure you check out the menu carefully before going to this restaurant. All the photos food here show barbeque but thats not what you'll find here. I don't recall seeing a stranger menu and while I'm all for trying something new but bacon/watermelon for an entree didn't work for me. New and fantastic!! Visited on the second day they've been open. Lured in by the smell of smoke and the smoker on the patio. Sat inside (do wish there had been a little more outdoor seating - my only complaint!) on a nice bench+chair two-top. Ordered the bbq sampler board (chicken, pork, brisket, coleslaw) and the ribs (with beans and coleslaw). Both were GREAT! Brisket was melt in your mouth tender, chicken could not have been more perfectly seasoned and cooked. Ribs were very smoky - super delicious. Went with the sweet & spicy sauce which was exactly that - sweet, spicy, an ideal accompaniment to the meats. Grabbed a coke - came in a can, best way to serve it. Took a couple cookies to go for dessert, very happy we did - little salt, little nutty, lotta flavor. Service was quick, friendly, and thorough. Copper Glance is definitely the gem in the town of Winthrop. The place is cozy, cute, and full of character. Luckily, it wasn't super busy while we were there; the staff was very attentive and gave excellent drink recommendations. We enjoyed chatting with each staff member, everyone was incredibly friendly and were genuinely excited to chat about the menu items and find something for everyone to enjoy. If you're looking for an upscale drink menu, this is the spot in Winthrop to find it and thoroughly enjoy every sip. Although the food menu was small, both items we had were incredible. It felt random to have Korean meatballs and macaroni and cheese at the same time, just do it. Both had tons of flavor and were perfect pairings for the strong tasty drinks. My only complaint is that we didn't go more than once to be able to try more items on the menu. This is a must visit for the area, for sure. read more

This the the crown jewel of Winthrop. You might expect a place like this in Seattle or Portland. What a wonderful surprise to find this place in tucked away at one end of the main street Winthrop. On a nice day sit outside and watch the world pass you by. But if you really want a treat, get a seat at the copper topped bar. They have an incredible selection of spirits. Ones you may not expect, absinthe. Not on the menu, but sitting at the bar we were able to try a mini flight of their three offering of the green fairy - including a proper absinthe spoon and a sugar. We also tried the Mango-thyme margarita, a lovely treat. And a Moscow mule, which if you like ginger you'll really enjoy. The also offer it red, which you'll just have to see if that tickles your fancy. The menu is small, but everything we had was really good. Really, what made the night is Mike and Chris, the owners, and Maxx who tends bar. If you're in Winthrop for the weekend, don't miss this gem. read more

If you find yourself in Winthrop, WA, make sure the Copper Glance (newly reopened) is on your list!! Father/son duo Scott and Max are two of the most personable people you will ever meet. The pit master is soooo talented - the brisket is gorgeous and the smoked chicken is really outstanding (I am not normally a smoked chicken person, but the bbq sampler sold us). Great cocktail bar + restaurant! After a long day of hiking, we walked in and were seated inside immediately. They also had outdoor seating incase you're looking for a spot to hang with your dog. I feel like this was a gem we stumbled upon. Even though we found the interior to be a little loud, it felt cozy. The staff was super welcoming and had great recommendations for cocktails. My husband is still dreaming about their special Fall old fashion. We order the pear walnut salad to share and then I had the curry. It was very satisfying with the right amount of heat. The menu rotates seasonally. Bonus, we were seated next to some locals that were very friendly, which made the experience even better. So much greatness is spoken about in eastern Washington. Not all are what it seems though. There was this big event my wife and I heard about for many years. The Winthrop annual balloon roundup March 4th, 2022. The copper Glance was also a most spoken place to visit. A lot of people bragged about copper glance; considering these local guys did not put on( one of the sponsors) for the balloon roundup. Now to where matters after the most. I was under the impression that the mask mandate was over it's all I heard on social media. As soon we try to walk in a young man who was very prompt mentioned that we needed to wear masks to come in. We went to grab our mask and come back no biggie. Now we are inside this place that we always wanted to try out. Mind you we drove for hours for this place to be shut down again we also need a vaccine card. I told the man I never heard such a thing or encountered such a scenario but we don't do that because of our religion. He said get out that we need a vaccine card to be here. I asked why did you not say that when we walked up the first time all he said was we needed a mask. I may have been singled out because I am a black man with braids who is to say; so we left and felt very sad that we heard so much about this place and it was on our bucket list. We ended up at three-fingered jack ( who sponsored the event) and we were welcomed there without any discrimination. read more

I can't compare Copper Glance to EVERY restaurant or bar in Winthrop, but we've tried many. And Copper Glance stands out heads and tails above the rest of the dining establishments in Winthrop! My wife and I enjoyed a couple of salads last summer (2019). The ingredients were all very fresh. When I arrived at Copper Glance with my wife's order (based on the online menu for Copper Glance), I was told that menu wasn't accurate. So, I took a picture of the menu in the restaurant and sent a text to my wife. She ordered, and we both enjoyed our meals! Normally, we don't bother eating in Winthrop. But we will return to Copper Glance! The menu not being accurate colored my initial review. After 5 hours on the road in December, we just wanted to order some food and take it back to our cabin to enjoy. I have exchanged messages with the current business owners, and have been assured that they have rectified the issue of their online menu not being accurate. Which is great for us! We typically start scanning Yelp! reviews for restaurants and bars for our destination location whenever we're on the road. I'd like to point out one more item - Copper Glance changed hands in early 2018. So, if you are apprehensive about visiting them based on the snarky comments posted by ownership in response to some of the negative reviews here, be assured that those were from the previous owners. Current ownership seems to be very concerned with their image, their customers' experience, and they have no interest in trying to 'one up' negative reviewers with the indignant righteousness displayed by the previous owners. I immediately walked out and left, after being treated disrespectfully as I was about to put my mask on. One of the best bars I've ever been in! Craft cocktails and scrumptious small plates that complement the top-shelf selection of liquor. I've been living in Austin, Tx, so my standards for bars are high--I demand that they be unpretentious, able to make a wide variety of drinks, and have fantastic food. Copper Glance doesn't disappoint. It may be in a small town but it's of an international caliber and stocks liquors I've only found in high-end bars in major cities. The food is delicious, piquant plates and hearty options vie for the spotlight. My dad had the magnificent three cheese panini (super filling) and my mother was delighted with the salad. We shared the fiddlehead fern and morel crostini which was the perfect appetizer to split with three people. We did takeout, since they are not open yet for indoor or outdoor dining. The cocktail kits were really fun--we ordered their version of a Moscow mule with beet juice. If you are just visiting Methow, make sure to order ice and cups separately, since you need to assemble all the ingredients afterwards. Our mules came with the beet juice and vodka already mixed, and a bottle of fever tree and garnish on the side. My husband also got a martini that he thought was good. Easily the best bar in Winthrop and the entire Methow Valley. They specialize in fresh hand crafted cocktails and yummy small plates of food. They don't have a huge selection of beer but what they have on tap is great. They also have really good local wine and cider. The atmosphere is welcoming with options to sit both indoors and outside. There's always good music playing from the sound system and the place has a modern rustic look that I love. And the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and quick. The bar is intimate(read small) which means it's the perfect size almost anytime you go there but at peak hours on the weekends in the summer you might want to arrive early to make sure you get a seat. And the location is great right in downtown Winthrop directly across the street from the brewery and Carlos 1800. Lots of parking usually to be found close by or walk there! Fun place!
