Okay, a review is long overdue... sorry, I've been a bit busy chasing squirrels up the Cascades (you think I'm joking). To be honest I was a little disappointed in my first sit down meal experience here. Previously, I had been pretty excited about a few items I noted on the menu and so I was ready to finally try out their light bites and drinks. I had yet to enjoy wine since being out west this summer, so I grabbed a glass of dry red, and my date went with a light and delicious cocktail. I'm honestly too lazy to look up which she had, however, if they are all on the same level of quality I would highly recommend. We sat at the bar, and both the host and bartender were extremely helpful and kind during the entire visit. The vibe here is great, and I would return for that. Where I felt a little let down was the meal. The bahn mi definitely had a modern twist to it, and while I would rate it satisfactory, I was looking for a little more authentic taste. We also went with the nicoise salad, which came with a dill sauce for the smoked salmon. I was not a fan of the smoked salmon, as it was a little too fishy and briney, as opposed to coming off fresh. Overall, I'd be back for drinks and maybe another small plate, but I'm not rushing back. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how foodie-chic this place was! Even though it's located in a tourist trap in the country, the food and atmosphere was on-par with something you'd find in a hipster city neighborhood. The dining room is small, but they have several outdoor tables on the front patio that you can spill out onto on a nice day. The decor is a very electic mix of industrial meets vintage meets classical and makes it feel cozy. The cocktail list features some beautifully crafted options with really unique liqueurs you wouldn't normally see. As far as the food goes, the meats weren't incredibly stellar, but the cheese plate and pickled vegetables were amazingly delicious! We went on a Saturday evening and were greeted with live music in the dining room, which added a nice ambiance. Definitely make this a stop for dinner while you're in the Methow Valley! read more

Nice place to grab a cocktail and a small plate. Their cocktail menu is extensive and they did a nice job making proper cocktails. The food menu was the real surprise here. Korean beef chili, bahn mi, roasted beet and ferrel salad, duck pate...all excellent! I was surprised at how gourmet everything was and to find out that they were making everything in house. I would recommend this for a late evening cocktail and snack spot. Oh, and if they have it, get a piece of pie! Peach-blackberry!!! read more

One of our favorite dining spots during our annual winter trek to Winthrop for some cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking. The restaurant is small and casual but has an excellent menu, good beer and liquor list and friendly service. The menu is not expansive but there are plenty of options for all including vegan. We have never left disappointed. We arrived early evening on a February Saturday and were quickly seated. The place definitely was filling up when we left. Recommend this for adult groups as it is not really kid friendly. read more

My husband and I went here for dinner on a Saturday night. We ordered the chicken satay as an appetizer. For drinks I had to stick with soda water since it was the only sugar free option, but my husband ordered a cocktail. The server was busy and didn't take our dinner order till we were finished with our appetizer, but we were not in a rush so this didn't bother us. We ordered a salad to share and my husband ordered the macaroni with chicken. I ordered the curry since it was the only hot dish that I could eat (they were out of the sandwiches). After we got our salad, I was informed that they were also out of curry. So the only thing that I could order was another salad. If I had known this fact before we ordered, we would have just eaten dinner at another restaurant, but at this point we were stuck. Then it got worse! The performer started singing highly offensive lyrics. Her songs were obsene and there were children standing on the boardwalk listening. When we got our main dishes, we weren't able to finish them because the bottom was just a soggy mess. I have never written a Yelp review before, but this experience was just terrible considering that this restaurant has almost all 5 star reviews. I have worked in many restaurants and currently am a partial owner of one myself now. I value feedback from customers and since there was no comment card at the restaurant to fill out, I felt the need to write this review. I really recommend that the owners of this establishment screen their performers better, have more drink options without sugar, and plan better so that they don't have to 86 all but one of their hot dishes. read more

Super interesting cocktail menu and large assortment of hard liquors to choose from. The most amazing dinner of lettuce wraps with Asian spiced beef, and salmon cakes. We love coming here for an excellent cocktail and bite while in town. The cocktails are inventive and delicious. On a hot day, our cocktails were served in a frosted glass - nice touch. We've had Chad as our server many times and he always gives great suggestions and excellent service. I wish I could review the food, but they ticked me off enough at the start that I doubt that will ever happen. Tuesday, 5/3, my vegetarian sweetie and I were walking around town looking for someplace for dinner and we were drawn by the smell of the huge grill placed outside right next to the sidewalk. There were some daily menus sitting out so we grabbed a couple and looked them over while waiting for someone come greet and seat us. A couple of minutes went by with no one around but the grill chef, so I took the two steps to the grill and asked him about the only veggie entrée - the eggplant salad. While he was telling me he'd run out of it, a female server came over, didn't acknowledge us except to scowl and started doing something behind the grill. We decided we'd look around town for something vegetarian for my partner and then come back here for cocktails and my dinner. That's when the female server said to the chef in a snarky voice, "We should put up a sign that says 'Don't Talk to the Chef'." Um, *seriously?* A) You know I can hear you, right? B) If you don't want people talking to the chef, don't put him right out in front where he's the first thing people encounter, and C) Have someone greet people sooner than five minutes so they don't have to talk to him instead. They didn't look terribly busy so I can only assume she was either having a bad day, or she'd made the twisty things in her hair too tight and that was harshing her mellow. read more

Even though this is my first time visiting Copper Glance, I simply had to review based on the sheer perfection of our evening! Firstly, the cocktails are spot on. Artfully prepared, perfectly balanced, and crafted with such care and detail. I had two of the Novocaine - hands down the best cocktail I have ever had! And my husband had an array of delicious whiskey and bourbon creations. Secondly, the food is completely delicious. I will totally admit to being a super picky foodie, and every dish we ordered was mouth watering. The flavors of each dish were complex, developed, and you could just feel the love and care taken with each item. I seriously wouldn't have changed a single thing - perfect seasoning, perfect flavors...completely delicious! Last but not least - the atmosphere, ambience, and service was top notch. Adorable rustic decor, with a modern chic twist...totally comfortable, totally chill, yet really special with a romantic touch. Our waitress was genuine, happy, and made our evening just amazing! They have great drinks but for someone like me who doesn't drink it's awesome when they also have great NON alcoholic beverages!!! AND THEY DO! Amazing drinking vinegars and lots more. They do their own flavors and have seasonal brews. These are sharp and sweet, just the way I like um! Appetizers: we had the pickled vegetables which were also tongue piercing. I love a place that does it's own pickling! We split a Ruben and the Asian salad. Both awesome. My personal fav of the two was the Ruben. They do a great specialized twist on it. Specialty cabbage and meats with great sauce that isn't just 1000 Island from a bottle :P The patio is quiet and shaded. The service was flirty and fun. Oh oh oh. I love Winthrop, but there's limited dinner options. Brewery for a burger? Pizza?Arrowleaf for fine dining? Otherwise you drive to Twisp or up to Sun Mountain. And now there's Copper Glance - stylish bar with small plates that can easily make a meal. The misting system on the patio is a great idea, and the style inside is sophisticated without being stuffy. We stopped here on our way into town during an impromptu road trip. We were late getting in (by local standards) and we're worried about finding food at 8:45 pm on a Thursday. Enter Copper Glance. The staff was kind and accommodating. We ordered food to go, and I drank a perfect Old Fashioned while we waited the 10 min in the comfy benches for our food. This restaurant doesn't open until 4. Earlier in the afternoon someone was outside grilling amazing looking half chickens. We stopped and spoke to the guy who was pretty dismissive. Whatever. It was hot. We go back to the restaurant around 630 and the outside and inside are full. We stood inside for close to 5 minutes and not a soul acknowledged us. Nice place, food looks good but it felt pretentious and the lack of service was horrible. Sorry. You have one chance. I see you have responded that you are a late night cocktail bar. Frankly, I don't know what the hype is about. Took forever, and I saw people who ordered after me receive food before me. The gruyere Mac and cheese I ordered tasted similar to Beecher's frozen Mac and cheese (which is good, but for the price is much better). I ordered grilled chicken with the Mac and cheese, but it was simply the same satay sticks they used for the chicken satay. I was impressed by this somewhat new addition to Winthrop. In terms of a cocktail bar, they have everything you need. Prices are reasonable, and the mixologists know their trade. As a gastro-pub, this place is great. Food, beer, cider, and wine are all locally sourced and made to order. The only negatives I can see are limited seating and no kids anytime. With more space and family friendly accomodations before 8 p.m, this place would be a 5 out of 5. read more

We had an exceptionally enjoyable experience here during our stay in Winthrop! The bartenders were knowledgable and friendly! The ambiance was amazing! They use little antique French perfume bottles to spray the vermouth into your martinis. I ordered a Rosemary Lavender Gimlet and it was blissful! Ordered an $12 Old Fashioned and watched the bartender shake it and also muddle a cherry in it. Old Fashioned's are not are shaken in any universe (especially a $12 universe), they are built in the glass over a large cube. They also are not supposed to have a cherry muddled with the sugar. This place claims to be a cocktail bar but they can't even make one of the standards. Needless to say the drink was diluted and not even close to what I wanted.
