I was impressed by this somewhat new addition to Winthrop. In terms of a cocktail bar, they have everything you need. Prices are reasonable, and the mixologists know their trade. As a gastro-pub, this place is great. Food, beer, cider, and wine are all locally sourced and made to order. The only negatives I can see are limited seating and no kids anytime. With more space and family friendly accomodations before 8 p.m, this place would be a 5 out of 5. read more

Hidden in the faux-old west town of Winthrop is probably the best bar in Eastern Washington. Stepping into the Copper Glance is like going from the dusty frontier into a modern urban scene; their custom cocktails easily rival those of your favorite Seattle bar (if not beat them entirely), yet the service you'll get is completely small-town charm. And if you're hungry, they have a small food menu of custom eats of a quality that you won't find anywhere else within 100 miles. Come on the right night and you can even see local live music! Basically if you enjoy craft cocktails, this place is too good to be true. They of course have quality microbrews on tap as well. Pro-tip: as of August 2015, they don't have a sign yet, but just walk northwest on Riverside from the one stop sign and look right, you can't miss it. read more

Ordered an $12 Old Fashioned and watched the bartender shake it and also muddle a cherry in it. Old Fashioned's are not are shaken in any universe (especially a $12 universe), they are built in the glass over a large cube. They also are not supposed to have a cherry muddled with the sugar. This place claims to be a cocktail bar but they can't even make one of the standards. Needless to say the drink was diluted and not even close to what I wanted. This is a beautifully decorated bar with superb small plates and exceptionally friendly staff/owners. The crowd is young, hip, and outdoorsy--easy to meet new people because of the relaxed atmosphere. The cocktails were better and more interesting than I've found in Seattle, and I had some incredible appetizers made with chèvre and fiddlehead ferns. Wow! Hats off to the bartenders and chef in this little gem of a place. The music is also terrific. CG has a mensch of a classical guitarist at happy hour who regularly strays into blues, rock, rockabilly, and "other," and who sometimes sings improv. Not to mention frequent scheduled musicians, including some from outstanding location music fests. Winthrop is full of people with a surfeit of talent. The lovely and large outdoor seating area with misters is a summer blessing. Don't miss Copper Glance. read more

If you're in town you should definitely check out the Copper Glance. This is a sophisticated little place full of friendly people who love music and fancy drinks. They have a great glow in the room kinda like candlelight, and you will be pleasantly surprised if you try something new from their menu. read more

Great craft cocktails and delicious unique food. Definitely worth checking out. Prices were surprisingly reasonable. I had a Red Mule, made with beet infused vodka, ginger beer, and lime. Very unique and delicious. My husband had an Old Fashioned and it was made to perfection. We will be back. read more

The Greenbelt cocktail is superb, the Salty 212 just tastes like a bunch of grapefruit juice. The special flavor of the morels in the bibimbap was suffocated by the marinade... might as well have used tofu. Pad Thai is middle of the road. At least they have veggie options. This place is excellent. We spent three nights in Winthrop and came here every night. On the last night, we brought four friends along. Over the course of that time, we tried probably 8 or 9 of the cocktails on the menu (by sharing and sipping each others' drinks). And all of them were spot on. There are so many bad cocktails out there, but this place gets it right every time. In fact, the Greenbelt (tequila, jalapeño, cilantro, mint, chartreuse, falernum, lime and pineapple) might be my favorite drink of all time. We also had dinner with our drinks one night -- a nice Thai sausage salad, and probably the best reuben we've ever had. If we lived in Winthrop (or nearby), we'd be here every week. The only reason I heard about this place is because my friend was invited to sing there and a big group of us ventured up to watch her. This was nearly a year ago and we've been talking about it ever since! They are somehow equally high end and down-to-earth with the perfect amount of Methow flair. My foodie boyfriend is very picky about eating out and he was blown away by their cocktails and the uniqueness of the menu. Went there Saturday night for a couple drinks with friends and it was absolutely wonderful! Great atmosphere, incredible drinks that you will never get anywhere in the valley as good, and delicious appetizers. Got the meat and cheese board and was so satisfying. This is exactly what Winthrop needed, a hip, fun, high end cocktail and small plate bar. I've been going to the Methow for decades and it's so refreshing to find a cool place to have a high end cocktail after going hiking or biking. Great service, and such a relief from the rest of the town. The Cuban sandwich was awesome! And getting a Sazerac made perfect is so rare in Seattle, but they nailed it! read more

Service was great, drinks good, ambiance charming and an obvious hang out for locals. However, the food was a bit disappointing not living up to the tantalizing descriptions on the menu or reflecting the inflated prices. We ordered several small plates - the kale Caesar tasted overwhelming fishy and lacked visible Parmesan and croutons. The crudités were beautiful too look at but the fennel was too tough to eat. The prosciutto & asparagus were very nice, but ends of the asparagus should have been trimmed. A few minor tweaks in the kitchen could have made it a 5 star dining experience. read more

Rolled into Windthrop off Glacier Peak desperate for a bite and drink. It was 10pm and everything we looked at was closed. Then we slow rolled passed this joint and one of the workers flagged us down to ask us what we were looking for. We explained our situation and within minutes were ushered in for refeshments. The kitchen was closed, yet they made us the most fantastic grilled cheese sandwhiches. Great beer on tap, friendly staff/owners and excellent coctail recipies. Good vibes music and a cool atmosphere created an ideal introduction back into civilization. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a fine evening in Winthrop, WA. read more
