Honestly, we thought the new york pie was great (at least better than I expected for airport pizza). Had two large beers. Total with tax was like $53, which we also expected for an airport restaurant. We had delayed flights all day so was going to sit around and eat/drink til our flight, so not in a hurry. Around 1020pm was told out of nowhere by a middle age man, "you better start thinking about wrapping up cuz we're closed" after I overhead a different employee say thay they stay open as long as planes are pending. That employee estimated 12am since that was boarding time for the 1230am departure. Well okay, i guess things change, no big deal. There were 3 different groups at the time and we all took off after we were told they were closed. As I leave, I overheard the employee who told us they were closed say "hunter said we're supposed to stay open for the last plane" and then "i might get fucking fired today but im not reopening." They put the rails up so no one can enter. One gal is there cleaning up for the next 30 minutes while the one guy who made the crude comment is just sitting at the bar on his phone. Another 5 minutes later a group of 3 go to the gaurd rail and are told "ya, we're closed" while the employee is still sitting at the bar. Honestly I would have never known anything was up except for loud mouth. We all feel that way sometimes, but keep it in, we can hear you, and it reflects on the business. ;tldr decent food, price to be expected, but as previous comments say (especially on google) the staff needs some work. read more

We're in the middle of a brutal travel day and my husband ate here before and recommended. We had time before (another) delayed flight so we decided to relax and enjoy a beer and some food, so we started a tab. After we got our beers (we told them we weren't in a hurry) they took our food order about 20 minutes later. But wait! Our tab was closed because "they automatically close after 45 minutes." I ordered the patty melt, husband ordered the pork belly sandwich. After about another 20 minutes the server told us the patty melt was ready but not the pork belly sandwich. My husband said he'd wait. After 5 minutes the story changed. No pork belly at all. So we shared a lukewarm patty melt. Getting a check was a nightmare. No, you cannot look at the physical check, you must give us an email or telephone number so we can text it to you. What if we want to make sure we weren't charged for the sandwich we didn't receive? Too bad. So we relented and provided an email. It took another 20 minutes to get the emailed receipt, (and then it was only for the sandwich, not the beers) and guess what? We were charged for the sandwich we didn't receive. When we asked about it we were told we would have to contact our credit card company. Oh! And even better? They pre-charge you a tip so you can't decline to reward shitty service. The food was awful, the service was third rate, their billing system sucks, and it was an overall disgusting experience on a stressful travel day. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious my Burger and salad was - especially for airport food. Each table has a charging station and the staff comes around often. I expected a few sprigs of greens, but I got a separate bowl of bright greens and grape tomatoes lightly dressed in a delicious balsamic vinaigrette. It's hot in here. HOT. The architects designed the space so the pizza oven's heat overrides the air conditioning - in summer, when we need it. Chairs are connected to the bar, so they cannot be moved or repositioned. My mojito ($14.00) is scary, scary sweet - cloying and nasty. My husband got a Stella, and they only come in one size - 23 ounces ($14.00, I think?) which means the beer will be warm by the time he has finished it. We've ordered shoestring fries ($6.99) and a pita and hummus plate ($13.50). The fries are hot and crispy and come with ketchup in a little ramekin. The pita and hummus is just that: no olives or cucumbers or anything else at all. Still, the pita is warm, and there is A LOT of hummus. It's a little salty, but is topped with a drizzle of olive oil and is pretty tasty. The staff are sweet and helpful. The food we ordered was grotesquely expensive, but fine. If you're out of options at the airport, Twinburger will do. The location was far from where we went through security, but we made the trek to Twinburger in search of a juicy lucy [burger]. Their claim to fame is that this location is in collaboration with renowned Matt's Bar. But if you're searching for a juicy lucy with even half the calibre of Matt's Bar, Twinburger will undoubtedly fall very short. Food -- I ordered cheese curds, fries, and of course, a juicy Lucy -- the latter is a Minneapolis staple, a burger with a juicy patty stuffed with melty cheese. The cheese curds and fries were your typical run-of-the-mill. But the juicy Lucy was a sad, Dickensian orphan of a burger. The patty clearly had a cubby in the center of it, perfect size for melty cheese. Yet it barely came with a hint of cheese; it was a quick flicker of cheese, so little that if you blink, you might miss it. To add insult to injury, the burger came with nothing at all -- no toppings, no condiments. Just a patty and buns (though I had ordered onions, lettuce, and mayo via their iPad menu). Service -- there are iPads you can order from, but don't let that convenience fool you. The agonizingly slow service more than makes up for that convenience. The only redeeming factor to Twinburger (hence the bump up from 1 Star to 2 stars) was that the poor line cook working there all by himself was trying the best he could. If your gate is nearby, this is a nice place to stop by. You can order via an iPad instead of actually having to engage a human. You can use that iPad to surf the web or use the free WiFi on your own device on a comfortable bar stool. The menu is pretty standard diner-ish. Deep Fried Cheese Curds: Shaped into cubes instead of the asymmetrical raw curd form. When you bite into the cubes you can sense that the curds aren't packed too tightly. Served with a marinara sauce. The uniform shape and marinara sauce made it feel more like a non-stringy mozzarella stick than a deep fried cheese curd. I definitely had better curds back in Minneapolis. Potato Chips: They were presented on the iPad menu in a way that made them look like they were fried fresh onsite. So I was reading about a go to place to try out because Delta has this as one of their hubs on the west coast. Funny thing was, this place was pretty near to the gate I would be taking to get to Los Angeles. I actually longed for a juice lucy; however, now I know how to actually make it. For those who do not now what a jucy lucy is, it is apparently a big mac without the middle bun. I, at first, thought that it was a burger patty injected with cheese; however, it is just two beef patties with cheese in the middle. I could easily ask for that at White Castle instead of getting the double sliders (hint to anyone who wants to try it but will probably never see this place). Customer service wise I would think the whole layout takes away from. I mean, one is at an airport and pretty much this airport is like an IPAD, technologically advanced nirvana. You pretty much walk through gift shops to get to your gate (the entire airport is one giant gift shop I guess) and so this restaurant basically looked like a bar counter with all these ipads. I, personally, would not have minded having an open counter where one could walk up to and order, so that they can get the sandwich and head to their gate. Maybe in the near future, I will luck out to pass by this place and have enough time to sit down and order things off an ipad; however, I just did not have enough time and I did not feel noticed enough to be served unless I was willing to do that. read more

This is a solid option, especially for airport food. Twinburger is a little off the beaten path and the signage isn't visible when you're walking. You pull up a seat at the bar and order off the Ipad, while I found this convenient in an airport setting, at least 3 diners couldn't figure out how to work the system. I don't love that you pay in advance, as it requires you to tip in advance. I ate early and the team was very accommodating in getting me mayonnaise, but I can imagine that you get ignored when this place gets busy, as there's no real way to signal that you need service. I ordered a juicy lucy with cheese on top, but I did not get the warning about napalmesque cheese exploding when you bite in, so I ended up combing a fair amount of american cheese out of my hair! The burger and fries were really good. It's not cheap, it's an airport and you're a captive audience, but I'll be back. It's a Minneapolis staple, how could you not? read more

Besides the cute iPad based ordering mechanism, it is a solid burger joint unlike what you'd typically find at an airport. Service was prompt and drinks were refilled regularly. But the whole vibe is "I am a fancy person eating a hamburger with cheez whiz in the middle because I am traveling alone and want to watch the World Cup. Later I will eat beet salad with my attractive lady friend." It's mostly a bar below a row of TVs. There are several very beautiful men behind the bar, but you aren't supposed to talk to them. Rather, you tell an iPad what you want to eat and drink, and the iPad tells the handsome men. Seems a waste of beautiful men, and of an opportunity for small talk during time that surely almost all the patrons are trying to kill. I could not have been more correct. Twinburger is my new home away from home in the MSP airport. Izrael, the server, instantly welcomed me and came to my aid in placing a special breakfast order through their iPad system. Before I knew it, Randy was working his magic on the grill and a plate of hot food was in front of me! Izrael & Randy kept my spirits high, kept me smiling, and kept my tummy full.
