Looking for BBQ lunch within walking distance of the aquarium? This is likely the closest place. Great beers, BBQ that does the trick for a quick fix. Food: 4/5 pork rinds come with the table and were better than the gas station bags I've had. I would recommend getting the southern style brisket and the pulled pork butt. Ribs were good but a little on the drier side, and I've had better sausage elsewhere but they weren't bad. The loaded baked potato with brisket was pretty good, but the shredded cheese is not melted, and I personally prefer a slightly mushier baked potato. Seasonal sides were broccoli salad and sweet potato casserole which were delicious, but the normal sides of coleslaw and mac n cheese were more 3/5. Mac n cheese tasted like Velveeta, not baked. Edit: okay after thinking and visiting other BBQ places I have complaint. This restaurant does not serve pulled pork and side. They serve all other meat with a side except pulled pork. They then charged me $6 dollars for very bland potato salad which was not worth it in my opinion. You look at the cup size and tell me if it's worth $6. So just keep that in mind when you go. As with lat time I visited pretty early, just before 5:30 and had no problem getting at table (albeit some of their tables are directly under massive AC ducks, so you might want to bring a sweater). And it was enormous, just massive. We shared between 2 adults and 1 child (child #2 got her own dish). This could easily be shared between 3 adults. Collards - Yum! It was slightly bright and tangy, not too salty. Just full of flavor. This felt nice especially alongside a big ol' slab of meat. They open at 11am, and we arrived at around 11:20am to be told it would be about another 15 minutes. We waited outside and were let in after about 15 to 20 minutes, 45 past when they were supposed to open. We were the only patrons in the restaurant except for one person sitting at the bar. Great location, large portions, and tasty food. This place is a short walk from the Coke museum, Aquarium, and Centennial Park. That's good if you're at those places because it's easy to get to. I am sad. I was so excited to come back to Atlanta and have a chance to experience the foodgasm I had before. I guess in the world of restaurants, maintaining a level of excellence can be challenging when there are so many variables. The brisket was dry, and the fat was not rendured.
